I highly recommend this professor. He's very sweet and funny, and he gives you many second and third chances. However, you have to do the work. He does give papers every now and then, but his work isn't difficult. He actually tries to learn names and 99% of the time his class is just him talking, but he gives good feedback and is super open minded.

I had a lot of fun taking ENC1101 with James Bennett. It wasnt hard at all. Do your work on time, put in effort, show up for class, and you will do fine. He doesnt give out a lot of homework, which was perfect since he understands we all have lives outside of school. He is very caring about his students, remembers names, and is really funny!!

This Proffesor is really good, he speaks his mind and you can feel how much he cares. I just finished a 6 week with him in the summer and i wouldnt mind taking another classs with him. He even brought food on our last day, this guy is awesome. His work is not to hard, and if you have any questions he is an email away!(Or his office hours)

Taking this class was the best decision I made in the summer. Prof. Bennett is an great person, and makes the classes fun and entertaining. Since this is an English class, you'll require to write at least 4 papers. There is also a quiz every other class about readings from the book, some of them may bet optional and count as extra credit.

I took this class for enc1101 and enc1102 I had two 8 week courses. So every assignment was back to back. I recommend him because he is very caring and there is no way you can fail this class. I passed both with an A.

My favorite class of the day! Hes amazing and very nice and understanding. His tests are easy and hes willing to work with you if youre confused with the material I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The teacher understands the situation we are all going through, the tasks are easy, you just have to do them, go to online tutoring and you will pass.

I ABSOLUTELY love him!!! He's such an amazing professor, and his lectures are always interesting. A very funny guy and definitely someone worth learning from. He's very understanding and very much human, so he's forgiving. Kahoot quizzes are based on reading and are super easy, and the four papers are so easy. 10/10 would take again!

I took LIT2000 with Professor Bennet, and the class was a breeze! Very simple understanding of assignments, and very understanding professor especially in the midst of a pandemic. He gives good insight on the material taught in class, and overall a great professor with a charismatic character ! Loved this class!!!!

It was such a chill environment and even though there was a lot of joking around, he also did a great job at having us learn & get something out of the class!!

Super chill professor - if you can take his class, then seriously, do so! In his class, we had 4 papers and 3 quizzes on Kahoot (one was extra credit). Cares about his students and makes it clear what he expects on each assignment, and ensures everyone can get a good grade as long as you do the work.

Finished MAC1105 course with one of the best professors ever. 1. Very flexible. 2. Atmosphere/vibe of the class is very healthy. 3. Excellent communicator and always answers your questions. 4. Actually gives credit for homework. 5. He is easy to understand as he speaks clear English without an accent. I strongly recommend him for MAC1105.

Prof Bennett is really chill, attendance is mandatory but he literally won't drop you as long as you do the work. Papers are really easy to understand and you learn a lot fr. He doesn't give tests and the only work is a paper every few weeks & short readings. Super cool guy, really easy.

He loves to play music for the first 8-10 minutes of the class to give everyone a chance to log in. Music is suggested by students. He uses an agenda to cover material in each class. His lectures are super active, you will not get bored - he even does corny joke time! Professor Bennett is beyond amazing, you will not regret it!

His class is a blast. His lectures are super clear BUT he's a tough grader when it comes to essays. I like to think I can write a really great essay, but it was impossible to get a perfect paper in his class. He deducts points for the smallest things. But overall, he is a great teacher and would recommend.

Great guy!!! He tries to talk to his students at an equal level and gives them many opportunities. He tries to sell his students English and is the kind of person to spark an insightful conversation and carry it himself if people are too shy to talk.

80% exams,20% homework. The best part about the class is that you technically dont need the book he's a really good lecturer & all the past lectures are saved so you can go back if you forgot how to do something. Final is optional, it replaces your lowest test grade. & the extra credit boost our grade up by 4 points! TAKE HIM he wants u to succeed

Athough I usually do not like English classes, Professor Bennett always made the classes fun and interactive. He is very organized and clear with what he expects with essays. As long as you see a writing tutor before turning in essays, you will get a good grade. I've taken him for MAC1105 and ENC1102 and he was truly the best. Highly recommend him.

Dr. James Michael Bennett is such an amazing professor. He is engaging and funny. On top of that is extremely understanding, not giving a ton of homework and giving enough time to complete it. His class is fairly easy, so passing his class shouldn't be much of a problem. Other than that I highly recommend taking his LIT 2000 class.

I've always hated english classes but he made it fun, plus the class was really easy. The homework is light, its just reading easy books and doing discussion posts. The only thing is that he sometimes get too political for what is supposed to be a literature class. Midterm and final are short and very easy if you did all the aforementioned work.

This was the best professor I've had at Miami Dade. He was so funny and lovable and taught me so much. I loved writing for his class he made it fun. If you have to take ENC1101 do yourself a favor and take it with him you won't regret it. ONLY bad thing is he takes a while to grade but still a great teacher.

The ENC 1101 class is great! Starting the class with music sets a nice mood. There are four papers to write, with clear instructions and plenty of time to complete them. The topics can be deep, so be prepared. I would definitely take this professor again.

Professor Bennett is a great teacher. He doesn't expect to much just mostly participation and getting your homework done. He allows you enough time to get your work done. I love how he helps with the breakdown of creating your paper that was the most helpful part of the class especially because I'm a procrastinator when it comes to writing a paper.

I found him so funny actually. Participation does matter and so does the coursework. I had him for enc 1102 and I would take his class again if I could.

Professor Bennett is a great ENC 1102 instructor who is clear, organized, and genuinely invested in student success. He explains assignments well, gives helpful feedback on writing, and grades fairly based on the rubric. If you stay engaged and put in effort, you'll learn a lot and do well in the class.

I thought the selection of short story's, plays, and poems were interesting! This course requires tutoring appointments for each paper but I ran into an issue with a tutor that was not providing me with proof. I had to schedule several appointments. The professor did share my feedback with tutoring services to help correct the issue.
