very easy teacher..sometimes funny lectures. Ur grade is based on 7 tests and extra credit. Tests based on textbook reading and lectures. very straightforward, interesting class. (Morning classes may be slightly boring, as he is usually late.)

Take notes and read the textbook and you'll do fine. The way he decribes children's behaviours' funny. His voice is a little monotonous, so it's quite hard to pay attention in classes. Overall, good teacher. (Ave. 10 minutes late to class)

Good teacher. It's funny when he acts out behavior of children. You don't know if you should laugh or be afraid. Very easy tests if you read the book and come to class.

He talks low. If you sit on the 1st or 2nd desk, you should be able to hear him. Very easy to pass his class, because he gives a lot of tests and throws out the lowest grade. Besides, he gives you a lot of opportunity on extra credit! Grades tests fast!

BICKLEY TALKS LIKE THE "DRY EYE" COMMERCIAL GUY. BUT HIS CLASS WAS EASY. LECTURES CAN GET BORING BECAUSE OF THE WAY HE TALKS BUT IF YOU READ THE BOOK, YOU'LL BE FINE.

Dr. Bickley may not be the most exciting guy at PCC, but he is an excellent teacher and the tests are very easy to understand. He is also patient and nice to the students. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to take Psychology.

Ignore all the warnings that this teacher is boring. These people just don't understand true genious when they see it. Dr. Bickley is quite possibly the world's leading authority on psychology... I recommend his classes.

Although some might call him boring because of the monotone lectures (after a while its not so bad), he knows his stuff. You'll do great in the class as long as you read and show up. Fairly simple to do well in the class :)

short term course is guranteed... an A! the tone he speaks is "---------", and he talks pretty much about his family, too. make use of his talking time to read the book, your tests are going to be troubless

If you can get past his boring, droning voice, you'll see he's a very knowledgable man. This class is ridiculously easy, that you're almost learning common-sense material -- but applying it to life stages. Take this easy class along with your hard ones...

Dr. Bickley is awesome! He has such beautiful eyes! Anyway, lots of reading. I didn't find his class all that easy, but then again I was taking 5 classes... I heard he got rid of his open notes/book tests.

The lectures are based on the book so its not necessary to buy it. Just take notes on everything he says (in his monotone voice) and its and easy A

Dr. Bickley is a great proffesor!! I have taken three classes with him and as always he has been extremely helpful to me. I can go to him for help and know that he will be there to answer my questions.

Yes he is monotone. Lectures became better. Uses great expamples, some about his family, that help you understand material better. No assignments, no homework, m/c and t/f tests. Read the big expensive book and youlle do great. Extra credit avail. and comes late to class :) Nice teacher. Recommend!

Mr. Bickley kicks @$$!! He might be kinda monotone, but he's really easy, and is really cool. He doesnt even get mad if you answer your cell phone! He's also really really smart. If you can tolerate the monotone-ness, I highly recommend you take him for an easy A!

wonderful pcc professor, took his class through winter session, even though the pace was fast. he tests you right out of his lecture, and some information out of the text, also do extra hours for commuity services; then you are on your way to definite "A"

Professor James B. Bickley is very wise, patient, fair and kind. I consider him my surrogate father. I also took his class in the summer of 2002 and I received an A! I took his Psycholoy 22 class and I got an A! Iam currently taking his Psychology 24 class and I'm homeless!

I love Dr. Bickley! He treats his students with respect and doesn't harp on silly nonsense (like no cell phones, etc). He obviously understands that we have a life outside of school (children, work, etc). He is very clear and helpful and his tests are fairly easy. Even though he isn't hard all the material he taught is still in my head!

he is a nice teacher although his lectures can be boring. maybe because class is so early in the morning (7:15 a.m.) test are okay, but he will drop one test.

VERY EASY, there is no way you can fail. All i did was read the book, sleep, leave class early, listen to his BORING lectures once in awhile. Got a C, that is.. with no effort at all. I'm not kidding, one of the easiest profs in the school, if i actually put effort into this, i'd get an A 2 bad i was lazy -_-

EASY TEACHER...is willing to help if you don't really understand...but be forewarned, HIS LECTURES MAY DRAG ON...and you may end up sleeping on it...i ended up getting a B...most of his stuff is usually from lecture...its not too bad really...sometimes you don't even really need the book....take his classes if you want an easy but boring way out

This is the Psych instructor to take for any class! His lecture style is slow (and he is a low talker), but his experience and examples make all of the material crystal clear. Tests are based on board notes, lectures & study guides, but it's best to read to recognize the subject. Take his class, you'll be glad you did!

very easy i heard 21 and 121 where the same exact lecturem but couldnt get into psych 21. A very good and kind teacher, I loved him, study your notes and you will get an easy A.

Prof Bickley is awesome!!!! although people say he is boring, you have to remember he is very old! he talks pretty monotoned and i will admit to having fallen asleep about twice, but his class is totally cool.he gives his studnets a LOT of oppurtunity to do very well in his class..if you need to take psych..take it with BICKLEY!! you wont regret it

Very easy class: 6 tests-drops one, gives opportunity for extra credit, study guides, tests are ALL multiple choice, book is interesting to read, & theres no other homework. basically, if you read the book and come to class you will get an easy A+. His lectures are slow, but redeem the time. i read the chapters while he teaches. hes very nice.

I am currently in Dr. Bickley's class. However, I do not find him boring at all. He uses plenty of examples. Attending class and taking notes is a must -- 90% of lecture material is on tests. Very helpful and funny guy with plenty of personal experience in the subject. Easy A if you read the book and take notes on lecture. :)

His lectures can be boring at times because he is kind of soft spoken and monotone, but can be funny at times too, and his lectures can be interesting if you are interested in the subect. His tests are multiple choice, matching and true false. If you do the reading and go to class you'll get an A.

ok, heree's the deal with Prof. Bickley. If you are a nursing student, and the English language is not your strong point then this class will be a challenge. IF you are a Psych major, or have a general interest in Psych, this class is an EASY A!!!! I think I studied once or twice for the tests and still got a A in the class. Mostly common sense.

Dr. B is a nice prof. But he speaks so soft u can barely hear him when u sit at the back. He speaks so slow too so might find him boring. But his tests are really easy. You just need to read and follow his study guide...everything is there! He also gives extra credit. I got an A his class eventhough I just slept the whole time he did his lectures.

Bickley has a really low monotone voice. U can barley hear him & he makes u fall asleep. His class is really easy though. I usually showed up to class just for attendance slept for an hour & left. Ur grade is based on 6 test. He gives u a study guide for each test. JUST READ THE BOOK! if you read the book the test will be a breeze & do the volunteer hours! easy A

His class is easy as long as u read the whole book by urself.itz not hard to understand.it was going slow at the beginning,and make everything so rush at the end.like one test/week. Great professor! His lectures are very clear and interesting. Tests are a little hard. Gives extra credit (15hrs of volunteer work)which helped me to get a "B". Doesn't give homework :) just read the book and do the extra credit and you will pass his class.

Good professor. I like his technique that he uses to communicate with people. His test require you to study. Like 2 or 3 questions on the test are hard to answer because you have to go through the extra mile to find the answer but he is an interesting professor

Lectures are dull and dry. Has 4 test but drops the lowest grade. One paper which is very easy. You'll get an A so long as you put effort into it. Grading is very simple. Attend class because he takes roll and your attendance is based on it.

Bickley is a great person. BUT he talks slow and talks a lot about experiences that have nothing to do with exams given. He takes roll everyday,"what, are we in 3rd grade"? However neat person.

Holy smokes this class is easy. Just show up for attendance, listen to his lectures, and take notes. DEFINITELY read the book prior to an exam. The key to acing his class is the book. Read that and you'll get an A. I got an A on every test, and I did the extra credit just for the heck of it. Easy class.

VERY easy class and if you can stay awake for his lecture they are interesting. Its funny when he acts like a kid during lecture. Very easy A and it was an interesting course to go through.

i took him for psych 22, then decided to take him for psych 21. class can be slow at times, but there is no possible way to fail the tests. most of the common questions are common sense. make sure to take his notes, as well as notes from the book. EASY A.

I took Prof Bickleys class during winter.He was very interesting moments that were boring.gave extra credit of 15 hrs of volunteering.multiple choice tests, he also gave us stuydguides but only for certain chpters..whatever he tells you study that and ull be fine. He is also sweet and funny AND always late for class!

His lectures are sometimes boring but they're interesting most of the time. Takes his time with his lectures. He doesn't give any busy work, just reading. He gives study guides. Always happy to help. He can also grade your exams right away if you want to know you're score.

Boring but easy. Five tests, all of which were based on the book. A handful of questions came from lecture which composed of "Your professor thinks.." or ".. From Lecture" rest of them were from the book so prepare to read! Overall easy A, he's nice and understanding but has a monotone voice that I will never get out of my head.

This class is great. If you are unsure of a test question, just bubble in both answers and you will get it right. He is super cool, bring a computer so you won't be bored during lecture. He will NEVER be on time. If you need to up you GPA, take this class.

You must do the extra credit! I was so close to an A but didnt do the e/c and ended up with a B. He drops the lowest grade with the e/c. But overall easy teacher, not the most interesting, but easy. 7 tests in total all questions are either T/F, matching, or multiple choice.

The textbook is a must! you have to know it like the back of your hand. very monotone voice and gets really boring.

Very easy course for someone with a good knowledge in psychology. Tests are clear and contain everything he lectures in class and in book. A+ grade takes little effort, recommend psych 1 first because info taught in both classes are almost identical.

call the roll every time at the beginning of the lesson; ready for exams every other weeks; try not to fall asleep during lecture; he tests his point of view on the subjects compared to the writer of the textbook; read to read the book and take notes!

I took his Psychology-21-class in the fall of 2016 and it was cool! You must be present in class for he provides us with a study-guide. His study-guide is unique, so if your curious take him and find out for yourself. We had 4 or 5 exams and they were multiple choice. The exams became difficult as the course progressed through the semester.

Continuation of the fall 2016 semester: But, you must read and study as much as you are able to if you wish to earn a good grade. He was worth my two-hour bus ride. He offers extra-credit. I just didnt like the three-hour class that meets once a week, but it was worth it. Like Prof. Bickley says, No psychologist is perfect.

Continuation of the fall 2016 semester: Or, I think no individual is perfect, however you can learn to become a better person. You just have to try. (If your confused? Just take him and you will find an answer). His class is workable which is why I took him instead of enrolling for this exact same class at Santa Monica College.

Professor Bickley is a sweet old man. His lectures are a bit boring but overall an easy A. I took him my first semester at PCC and he's really straightforward, gives you a study guide that correlates to the tests he gives. Do the study guide and you'll pass with a C or higher.

Very caring and supportive; plans his course accordingly. 5 tests: drops the worse test score and gives extra credit to help boost your grade. He is available after class to answer any question you may have. He is very experienced in his profession inside and outside of classroom
