Great Prof. Goes over everything until you get it. Fun and excited about teaching his students. Does a great study review. Review your notes and you'll be good. 4 field trips and papers required, but they are easy. He likes to give A's as long as you really try and get your work in. Great Prof !

Mr. Bolin was by far the best teacher i have ever had! He was always willing to help any way he could! I never wanted to miss a day of class! He offers plenty of extra credit so if you do not get an A....then its your own fault! All around great guy! TAKE HIM!

Doctor Bolin is a nice guy, but be careful when he starts to teach something that's "not in the reading". He sometimes tends to teach opinion as a fact. If you are taking this class for true knowledge of each religion, only believe what is in the textbook or handouts.

I had Professor Bolin for my Comparative Religions class. He is a truly great teacher and person. His class was interesting and an easy A. He gives out a ton of extra credit so there's no reason to get less than an A! I didn't use my textbooks what so ever so don't bother spending money on them!!!

Great professor! If you have to take Comparative religion I would recommend him. He tells great stories that keep you interested. Just keep up with the reading and you will do just fine in the class.

Mr. Bolin is an amazing teacher!!! If you show up for class, do the required work and study for the tests. You will ACE this class. He is very willing to help out any time he can. There are outings that you MUST complete if you do not have time to vistit 4-5 places do not take this class because it is mandatory to attend them. AWESOME GUY

One of the best professors I've have to date. If you're going into the nursing program and thus are required to take this course, I highly recommend Professor Bolin. He has a passion for teaching you, is humorous, and wants you to succeed.

Awesome Professor, he was enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about the subject. Attend classes, listen, participant, and you will do well. He's helpful in answering any questions, and clear on class syllabus. Doesn't use much of the required textbook, but his handouts are excellent. Learned quite a bit from this class. This was a required class for me and I came into it not really interested in the topic. Ended up really enjoying it because he makes it really interesting and fun! Great professor. Definitely try to get into his class. Lots of outside work required but nothing too difficult. He is very clear with what he wants which I really like.

This class will teach you a lot about many religions. If you want to get 100% on every exam you have to read through the materials he gives out on your own time. Every exam has extra credit, and you can also do different outings to get extra points. Bolin is a very jolly nice guy who is always willing to help out.

I was not really looking forward to this class however i ended up loving it. This teacher has so much passion about his job and what he teaches that it is hard to not be interested in what he has to say. Read the materials before tests and you will have no problems, he provides the books and saves you at least $150. I highly recommend him.

Professor Bolin is amazing! You actually learn about each religion and yes there is a lot of work to do but it's very easy. You have to go on 4 outings which is super fun he is absolutely hilarious!!! Would totally take him again! & You want to attend each class so you know what's going on.

Professor Bolin is AMAZING! I never thought I'd be so interested in a subject like religion. I really do love this class. He gives out extra credit like candy on Halloween. Even on the tests, there is unlimited extra credit opportunity. In fact, you could probably pass the class just through extra credit. That and he is really a wonderful man.

This class is the easiest class I have taken at Macomb. In order to obtain an A, you have to get a 97% in the class BUT he gives out a crap ton of extra credit not only in class and on the tests, but outside of class as well. I took this course as a six week course and passed with an A.

Loved the class! Study, do the course work, do the extra credit and you'll get an A. Dr. Bolin is interesting, funny, kind and helpful. He provided the text books and all of the study material. Wish I could take another class with him. I left the class a bit more educated!

Awesome professor. Very funny and enthusiastic. He gives a lot of homework and extra credit, but the extra credit only works if you do the homework. Homework includes 6 papers, 4 field trips (on your own) reading a book, and watching a 3 hr movie on your own. If you're taking a lot of credits maybe take this class with a different professor.

Professor Dr. James Bolin is very efficient and proactive. His classes were very interesting and filled with enthusiasm. He is very easy to coomunicate with and very helpful. This was my first class in the United States and I really enjoyed every aspect of the class. His lectures were very clear and directed to the objectives of the course.

He's halarious, 4 hrs of class time is no big deal with him. He's very open to whatever you have to say. He does assign a lot of work. Tests are easy. He's one of the best teachers/professors I've ever had.

Professor Bolin is AMAZING!!!!! EASY A!!! All that is required is weekly articles with side notes and highlighting, you have to go to four different places of prayer and write a summary on it, and you have todo one book report. We had 5 tests, two of which were take-home. I got a 104%+ on every exam because they were easy! TAKE HIM!!!

I loved Pro. Bolin class. He is amazing and makes learning interesting. He like to laugh especially at himself. Gives extra points for many different things. No way to fail unless you just never show up for class.

I didn't know what to expect when I took this class, 16 weeks later I was sad that it was over. Dr. Bolin knows religions and makes it fun to learn about them. He cares about his students and will bend over backward to help you learn and prosper in his class. At the time I didn't have a printer, he let me write my papers. Teaching is his passion.

Take Bolin! He made the class entertaining and literally gave out extra credit for turning the light switch off. The lectures were boring. He's a understanding professor and he will do everything he can to help you succeed. You don't need the textbook. He is very funny and laughs at himself all the time.

He makes class fun and is hilarious. bring a news article every week, 3 religious outings, a few tests (most were take home), a book and movie report, and a few misc. assignments. Hilarious prof. He sang melodies along with his sentences so we would pay very close attention. He gives a ridiculous amount of extra credit, and appreciates a good pun, and if you comment or make jokes on the test questions, he'll give you an extra point. Passed w/ 160 points out of 140 on most exams; also very sensitive to students' needs.

Took this with a couple friends and the class was very enjoyable! He got the whole class involved and made coming to a Friday morning class not dreadful! Even if you are not interested in this subject I highly recommend taking any Humanity class with this profesor! You will not regret it.

Professor Bolin is one of the best professors at MCC hands down. His lectures about all the different religions out there were interesting and fun to learn about. He truly knows what he's talking about by showing passion every time he teaches. As long as you complete the assignments you should be fine. Half of his tests were take home.

He is the biggest sweetheart and very respectful. The class was not difficult at all as long as you take the class with an open mind. There is a lot of handouts but they are necessary to have in order to well, be sure to read through them!

There is a catch, you don't get your earned extra credit unless you do ALL of the required assignments. Tests are fairly easy. prepare to do some heavy lifting.

Just complete all of the assignments, and let him know if you need to miss class, and you'll get a good grade. Generous extra credit, but complete all assignments! Professor Bolin has been by far my favorite professor in my entire college career. He really wants you to pass. He practically gives you the answers to the tests if you pay attention in class. The only thing that was a bit tedious was the 3 outings he wanted us to go to, I did learn a lot through them though! He is *chef's kiss* perfect.

I took Mr. Bolin for his HUMN 1750 mythology course and it was by far my favorite class of the semester. His lectures are really fun and unique, the content is awesome if interested and the work is not that hard at all as long as you pay attention, and there' not a lot of it. Overall great professor and great class, I will definitely be taking him.

Dr.B is incredible and amazing because he really cares about his students, provides lots of extra credit, gives really easy exams, and grade writing assignments easily. This professor was overall a great professor. You have less than 5 total assignments in the whole course. Attendance is a major part of your grade. He tends to get frustrated very easily but never means to be mean. He is actually genuinely considerate and humorous.

Love him to death. I took both his mythology class and his comparative religions class. I aced both of them. Do his lectures drone on after a while? Yes, but his humor will make you not care about it. He opened my eyes to so many aspects of this world, and for that I will always be grateful. Thank you professor Bolin, I will never forget that.

Listen, I loved taking his class. All he wants is for you to participate in class, actually do your work, and he works with you. You can tell he actually love what he is doing and he genuinely cares about his students. All you have to do is pay attention, and have a presence in class and you will absolutely love it. Take HIM!

great teacher. Even with his health problems he still responds back in a timely fashion. Did the final he pretty much went over every question that would be asked. The only thing you will have to prepare for is a lot of reading. If you take good notes or highlight important text the midterm & final will be a breeze. One of the best teachers.

The BEST professor at Macomb Community College!

I enjoyed this professor very much. He truly cares about your grade, but more than anything he wants you to learn from the course. He tries to make his lectures enjoyable by adding silly memes in the middle of them, which I appreciated. Just be patient with him as he's a bit older and has some health problems. I cannot recommend him enough!

Professor Bolin is a great professor! He may get off topic easily but he's there for you and loves to see his students interacting and interested. The only bad thing I can say is all of his quizzes are open on Saturday and close on Sunday night but he literally tells you to use your notes and google lol. Very easy and interesting class!
