Great teacher, fun class

Seasoned professor with a desire to teach, not just collect a pay check. Used a variety of experiences to install learning into long term memory. Has reasonable expectations of students - but this is not a slacker course.

Sincere in wanting to be a good teacher, makes the class funny and interesting, is very fair and approachable.

Really knows his stuff and tries to teach you too. His test suck though. He changes everything so even when you study you can't make a good grade. Don't like how he doesn't use the book, but then most of the instrctors do that. Fun class!

Won't let you make up tests if you miss class, even if you notify him promptly. Class is pretty easy, just take good notes and do required reading...He wears pink shirts and funny sweaters, but is a great teacher.

He is a fun teacher.The work is not too hard if you study, and for the papers he lets you submit early if you want him to make corrections for you. also he has extra credit if you take advantage of it.

I have had 3 Psych classes with him and I think he is the best :) He is such a great teacher! His test are tricky and you have to do ALOT of reading, but its worth taking the class with him!

By far one of the best teachers that i have ever had. Class was wonderful and i learned tons. I would definitely recommend him to other students and strongly recommend that you choose him as a teacher.

I learned so much from his class. I thought the tests were kind of hard and he was really particular with the grading of papers, but other than that, I really enjoyed the class and learned tons of interesting stuff.

I loved taking this class! Study guides were wonderful and tests were not easy but passable (some of the multiple choice options had to do with why the Gators were better than the Seminoles-you're laughing too hard to stress!) Wish I needed more psych classes so I could take him again!

One of the best teachers at BCC. His class is amazing. He's alive and keeps the students entertained. His lectures are most arousing and beneficial. I took him for every psychology course offered at the school. General Psychology is a great class with James Braun.

After many years of not being in any type of school, I was quite nervous about going back to school. From the first day I knew it was going to be a good class and that I did the right thing. He made it fun, and easy to learn. The lectures did not put you to sleep.

Good teacher. Easy class, however for some reason I got a "B". Believes in "education through humiliation" a.k.a. forcing you to sing if you come in late.

I absolutely loved this class for sure. He is such an awesome teacher, he relates things that have happened to him in his life to help you learn what he is teacher. He loves to embarrass people though so don't do anything stupid. Oh and don't be late u will have to sing, don't forget your pencil either or u will be walking the walk of shame.

He is a GREAT teacher. Is a total UF fan. He will relate things that have happened to him to things we are learning in class. His "pop" quizes are pretty obvious when they are coming. He is picky on his papers. He knows his stuff. Best teacher ever.

Well worth the drive to Cocoa campus to take. Braun is head of the Psych dept and the Psych honor society. Passionate for his teaching. Also has a 'day job' as a family counselor (impressive). He's funny and expects class participation. Relates things to real life and has excellent course notes so you can concentrate on the context.

Great class. Challenging. Braun is great, though sometimes his jokes and the FSU v. UF banter gets to be a bit much. Take his class, you'll actually learn something.

Funny teacher. He likes participation in class. Study notes and you will do fine on the 4 given tests. Final was over all, but cut and paste from the 3 first tests.

He was a very funny teacher. I really enjoyed his class. Lots of praticipation. Never boring. I would recommend taking him!!! Just make sure your not late for class or you cell phone doesnt' ring in class!!!

Pretty straight forward. Study notes, do the little required reading he gives, and spend a little time on your papers and you'll get an A.

Overall great class. Recommended. Pros: Entertaining and funny guy/lectures. Notes are pre-made, so only have to fill in the blanks during lectures. Easy 60 ? tests. Offers ALOT of xtra credit! Cons: Tough paper grader. Required reading from text for all exams. Makes u sing if tardy. Answers your cell if goes off in class.

OMG this man is a deranged genius! He made class so much fun that you can't help but pass. The final is the exams cut and paste, the exams are the notes from class, and the notes are already printed and handed to you. You are stupid if you don't pass this class. Sit in front, read what he tells you to, and do your papers....and love the gators

Mr. Braun is an amazing teacher, but he is tough! Don't expect to pass his class if you don't show up and don't study (this is college, not high school cry babies). I've learned a lot from him, and he definitely makes psychology interesting!

Braun was awesome. I recommend him to anyone interested or even NOT interested in psychology. He makes the material fun and entertaining and the class is fairly easy to pass both gen psych and ab psych i took from him. Take notes, study, and write worthy papers and you're good! Because of him, i've declared pscyhology my major!!

He is a great teacher. I would highly reccomend him. The tests in this class are group...very easy if you study. Required reading is a must to make a good grade. Paper will be easy if you follow instructions. His door is always open, and he is very entertaining in his lectures, which makes the class very fun. You look forward to going to class.

Braun was great! I took his class in spring for general psych, then I took him in the summer for developmental psych, he makes everything interesting and is very funny(sometimes corny).

Mr. Braun's class was probably one of the most interesting classes ever. That being said, he is a fairly hard prof. He expects alot out of students. Take advantage of first reviews for papers. His midterm and final were super easy, though, but you must do the required reading.

He is awesome. I took him for Develop. as well as abnormal. He makes his classes so interesting. He does expect a lot out of his students, but is more than willing to help in any way that he can. He is by far the best psych. prof. I've had!

He is an amazing teacher! I was interested in psychology previously to taking the class and I think Professor Braun was the best! His class was hard and you had to work for your grades but it was all worth it.

Mr. Braun was my absolute favorite teacher! I am not even a psych major, but I wanted to take every class he teaches. He gives you everything he wants for papers, his study guides give you all the information for the exams, and he is hilarious! His lectures are entertaining and I found myself laughing constantly.

This guy is like the coolest teacher at BCC. Makes learning psychology enjoyable. I get a good laugh every time I'm in his class and I learn something everytime.

I took his Hybrid class. Maybe that's where I went wrrong, but I didn't like him very much. He tries to act cool, and just is really annoying. I never understood his grading scale... but if you decide to take him, make sure you understand the IDS (Identify. Define. Support) format, otherwise you will fail every paper.

Mr. Braun is an extremely awesome professor. His class was definately my favorite class so far. He answers any questions you have and is there ALWAYS if you ever need help. He's very energetic and extremely funny. He gives you real life examples that he has dealt with to help you understand! A+ Mr.B

Took the hybrid course. You only use the textbook for the midterm and final required reading. As long as you follow his directions you're set.

This class was so easy. you leave his class fealing like you know the material and then later when you are studying everything is so easy to recall!

Awesome Class. Took this as a Hybrid so class time was a little shorter than what I was looking for. Braun has his own notes and they are perfect for studying. The textbook is only used for required readings and they are minimal..but necessary for exams.

Great teacher, it's nice to once in awhile have different types of learning, rather than just taking the same kinds of test - A,B,C,D. Very knowledgable and I was never bored or looking at the time to get out. His skits are fine, easy A, as long as you can think more than just the basics.

Very intertaining. If you want A's on the essays, make use of his optional reviews. Try to meet during office hours to finetune your papers, he is extremely helpfull finding what you are missing. Don't be late or you will sing. He will anwer your phone if it rings. Forget a pencil and you will have to do the walk of shame. Fun class.

I know personally Mr.Braun will be there for you anything you need. The bookstore sold me the notes for 26.00 and that wasn't right and I told him and as soon as the class was over literally he ran downstairs to the bookstore I am grateful and he is an awesome teacher. It is always good to have funny and caring teachers makes it easier to learn!

Braun is a great professor. He is tough but fair. If you do your work, speak up, and have a little fun youll fly thru the course.

He was wonderful, but don't go into this class expecting to just breeze by. He takes his time to lecture, has high energy, and is very fun, but it is a serious class. He will answer any questions you have. If you are sensitive to sarcasm, this is not the class for you, but he really knows how to make lecture notes interesting and fun.

I took this class hybrid with Mr. Braun and it was the best decision I have ever made. He made the class really entertaining and fun, and on they days we didn't have class he had lectures for us to watch online, that coincided with his power points, which really helped to get the material in full. Overall it was a great class

Mr. Braun is wonderful. He made an 8am MW Class fun and super interesting. Best professor BCC has. Take the class, but don't slack off on his papers. He's super available during his office hours.

I had Mr. Braun for General Psych. He was awesome! It was my first semester in college and he was very nice, very funny, easy to stay focused, interesting. He is very helpful, if you don't do a paper, he will let you make it up at the end of the semester for some points, which you need to pass a gordan rule class. TAKE HIM.

Amazing professor. Highly recommended. There is no reason for not passing this class other than not doing your assignments and studying. He makes the class as simple as can be.

Mr. Braun is an absolutely amazing teacher. I've taken quite a few online classes and this class was my absolute favorite! He very much sets you up for success. All of his quizes are open note/open book, you just have to take one proctored Final. You do have to do some work in this class but he makes sure it's interesting and makes it easy to learn

LOVE this teacher, he's awesome. The class requires hard work and good studying habits but it is very interesting. I took this class at 8 am (I'm not a morning person), but there was never a day that I was not interested and engaged.

A psychologist who doubles as a comedian ("Welcome to Mims!"), Mr. Braun is an awesome instructor. There are four small papers which are easy following his format. The midterm and final are weighted the same, and with moderate studying are very passable. His stories/experiences from his therapy practice are great, too. Recommended!

Great instructor. The 4 papers are incredibly easy if you follow the IDS format he provides (A's on all 4). The two exams are easy if you study. I got a 81% on the first without studying much (not a great score). Then for the next one I did the required reading and got a 100%. So study! He has great stories! Very funny-- INCREDIBLY FUNNY!

HE IS AWESOME. I think I was the only one who did this but for some reason i knew that all the quiz questions were coming on every exams, so make sure you write/type them down and then all you have to do is memorize test questions. He is very organized! Love his online course. He also communicates well! He does his best with that. DEF. recommend!

Mr. Braun has been my favorite professor at BCC by far. I took him ten years ago for General Psychology.. and just took him again for Developmental Psychology. (Hybrid Summer).. He really wants you to learn and get an A, and he is always available. He is hilarious too. I loved going to class every time. Take him if you can for any Psychology class

This was BY FAR the best online class I have EVER taken! Mr. Braun does video lectures, you print out the sheets and just fill in answers and take a quiz. There is also chapter quizzes, but you do not read the whole chapter, he tells you what you need to read and it makes it so much easier. TAKE THIS ONLINE CLASS!!!

Best professor I've ever had. He is very funny and also an amazing teacher. I had his hybrid class over the summer and it was only 6 weeks. It was my favorite class at BCC. Definitely recommend him if you're into Psychology!

Dr. B is an excellent teacher. Anyone who has complaints of him is just lazy. He makes the class very interesting with his curriculum and charisma. I had struggles in the class, bur they were on me. He worked with me because I communicated with him. Do your assignments, learn much and earn an east grade. He is that!

Great professor. Personal experiences really add to the class. He likes a lot of discussion so if you can't stay awake at 8:00 am don't take it that early. Don't miss class and don't be late. Overall really good class.

I really did enjoy this class. He is a great professor and the work was consistent. Two quizzes every week one his video lecture and one on the book notes, as long as you do the outlines you wil pass. Lets you use notes and book on the final. A few essay quizzes, but he tells you what you will need to know. Loves his subject.

Mr Braun is a humorous teacher. however he is a tough grader. especially on midterms. if you really loves psychology, he is the one you want to take because he know what he is talking about.

Take this guy. You won't regret it. Amazing professor! Get the textbook, you will need it. There is a lot of reading and decent amount of work but just do the work and you will pass no problem. Tests are straight forward, his tests are right from the notes word for word.

Best professor I've had, taken two classes with him. He applies real life situations which allows you to understand more. Amazing how much you learn from him in one semester. Textbook is used twice,as it's 50% of midterm and final. This class really preps you for the real word of psychology. Also offers a (honor) psychology club!! (BETA FEARS)

He points fingers+assert that he's right when it comes to conflicts. Overall, class was easy+interesting. Weekly: video lecture&reading assignments--1 quiz on each w/3 attempts. Q's from quizzes are recycled on exams. 30 quizzes x10 pts, 4 online exams x60, 3 essays(250 words) x20, 4 discussions, 2 finals (proctored)x120868 pts. All open bk exams.

All notes are provided. All tests are open notes AND open book, even the proctored final exam. The lectures are very interesting and he's not boring at all. There is a fair amount of reading every week, but nothing too crazy. I would definitely take him again.

Loved his class! Learned so much things that will not only be applicable to my career but to my life. He is a marriage counselor so he has a lot of awesome stories to tell. He is also very funny. I am glad I took him. You really do learn a lot. Some tests are short answer style tests but they are interesting (you'll see). TAKE HIM!

This has been my favorite class thus far - interesting and an easy A. There are notes from each online lecture, which are fill-in-the-blank answers DIRECTLY related to quiz questions. 2 quizzes most weeks, 3 attempts each. Lots of opportunity to improve grade. I wish I could take more courses with this professor!

I liked Professor Braun and felt that I learned a lot in his class. He is very thorough and gives video lectures for every module online to further explain concepts. The only thing I didn't care for was the way the tests were set up. Just a little annoying. Can still pass with good grade though. Expect timed essay tests but they are short & simple.

Mr. Braun gives great lectures and he supplies you with his lecture notes so all you have to do in class is fill in what he talks about in your notes. There were 3 papers (500 words each) that weren't too bad. His tests are easy as long as you just study your notes and pay attention in class. Don't show up to class late; he makes you sing.

This class was amazing. Prof Braun knows what he's talking about and is very clear cut in what he wants regarding his essays. If you watch his lectures, and fill in the blanks on the lecture papers, you'll pass the quizzes every week, same with the chapter readings. He has a sense of humor and wants everyone to pass.

Course is structured and simple to follow. Everything is open book/note- including finals. He gives a note template for each module which is really useful. Good feedback on all of the writing assignments as well (200-250 words). Do the assignments and you will pass. Great online course.

This is not an easy class. It takes a lot of time and work so if you're looking for a class to just breeze through I don't recommend. However if you're looking to actually learn something, Professor Braun is excellent. Has fill-in-the-blank lecture notes and reading guides for the book so you know exactly what to study. Keep notes as you listen to lecture and read so that you don't fall behind. The biggest challenge for most was the timed essays but I did just fine. It says that you can't write it in MS Word first but it worked for me. Highly recommend!

All I can say is BEST TEACHER EVER! I would take this professor three million times if I could. Had him for an 8 am class and not once did I want to fall asleep. He is hilarious, caring, and definitely knows what he's doing. Especially because of his background (he's also a therapist). Amazing teacher.

Professor Braun is fantastic. His lecture videos are really good and he even gives you fill in the blank notes to go along with them which you can use on quizzes and tests. Since I took it in the summer, it was condensed so there were a few weeks when I had 4 quizzes and a discussion to do, but it was all easy. I definitely recommend him!

Great professor. Being present in class is the key to passing. He provides great lecture notes and is more than will to explain things as many times as needed for the class to understand. The only downside to this class was there were not many graded assignments.

Not hard to get an A in this class. He is somewhat strict on the grading of papers and you have to do them his way. Have to buy the textbook because half of the test questions are from it other are from the lecture notes. Pretty funny entertaining lectures.

Took Professor Braun for online developmental psychology. Pretty easy there are lecture quizzes (videos of him lecturing) and textbook quizzes. The textbook quizzes are pretty annoying cause it is A LOT of reading but it's still easy.

I thoroughly enjoyed Professor Brauns Developmental Pyschology class. The material was all really interesting and his online lectures were full of information. Two short ten question quizzes a week and occasionally an essay quiz. Easy A and you learn so much! Braun is also hilarious and a very nice man! Definitely recommend!!!

Paying attention in class isn't hard and is necessary. Yeah, it's a challenging class, but I would take it again if I could. If you actually study for the tests, you'll do amazing. 2 discussion boards that are really fun to do and don't take much time. DONT PUT OFF TAKING NOTES FROM THE TEXTBOOKS it's so important for the tests. Well put together

Prof. Braun goes above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need to do well. All quiz and exam questions come directly from the lecture notes and reading guidelines he supplies. Quizzes, exams, and the final are open notes/open book. He allows practice essay quizzes and gives great feedback. If you do the work each week, you will do well.

Took Professor Braun for Gen Psych II and he was redoing the format and structure for the class and taught entirely from personally prepared powerpoints. Fair in grading and made sure that everyone understood the concepts being presented before moving on. Made the material fun and also asked for input on what we liked/didn't like about the material

Mr. Braun is a gem. He is SO hilarious and always manages to make class enjoyable and interesting. I personally am striving to be in the field of psychology, and Mr. Braun provided me with knowledge that I may not have learned until way later in my journey. He takes the time you need to make sure you understand the material. Highly recommend!

A lot of quizzes and tests every week. Solid dude though he loses his thought a lot during video lectures haha. The lecture based quizzes are easy because there is a study guide with the same questions. However, the textbook ones are difficult. All open note and book but if you want an A, you HAVE to read the textbook!

Mr. Braun is an amazing professor and is a great teacher for a first time college student. He is very clear in what he wants and expects from students. His classroom is always a happy place and a very welcoming environment. As long as you participate and pay attention this class will be a breeze. He doesn't give unnecessary information or work.

I loved professor Braun, he was the best! I took Developmental Psychology online and this class was easy for me. Each week you have 2 quizzes and maybe a discussion. He posts his lecture in the week's modules and you can print out the notes and fill them in. He gives you all the materials to help you pass!

Professor Braun is very straight forward with his expectations and grading criteria. Assignments are not overbearing and pertain to his lectures and reading material. lectures are easy to follow (he provides lecture noted for you to print and fill out), reading assignments are easy. You put in the effort , you will pass easily.

Mr. Braun was an amazing teacher. Psych 2 was the second time I've taken him since I had him for Psych 1 as well. The class is easy if you pay attention and engage yourself. Only take it if you are ready to learn, not just for an easy credit. Mr. Braun has real life experience as well to offer. Planning to take him next semester as well. Amazing!

Best Professor ever! The course is super easy. He is very straightforward when explaining assignments. If you do the work, you will do well. In this class, its important to be specific because being vague can lead to giving the wrong answer but otherwise, if you take the time to study and understand the material, the class is a piece of cake.

Professor Braun provided the most organized online class. Every week there is a lecture and quizzes. As long as you watch his lectures and fill in your notes for that lecture-you will do great on the quizzes and the final. All of the material was interesting and presented by Professor Braun in an informative and easy to understand format. No Book.

He's such a good prof as long as you listen during the lectures and take the notes. He pretty funny and he's chill. I would definitely take him for psych.

Mr. Braun is a great professor. He makes psychology super interesting and easy to understand. His work can be challenging, but he provides lots of resources and help. Fair warning though, he's terrible at remembering names lol.

Great professor. You get two tries on all quizzes and everything is open note. Midterm and finals are based off quizzes. Very easy.

Professor Braun was my first ever college professor. He's very easy to understand. Make sure to be a Gators fan. He's funny as well! For each exam, you must have a Scantron. Make sure to buy at least two in advance! If you don't have one, he will supply it, but for a price (commonly 10% off your grade.)

Amazing professor who actually cares about his students (disregarding his tough façade and his claims not to). He actually values having his students learn the information. Offers extra credit at the end of the course and is also very willing to sit and discuss any topics that aren't understood until you have a better grasp.
