This professor was very dry and boring, and most kids had a hard time staying awake in the class. However, he explains things so thoroughly and so clearly. I am not a math student by any means but my average for that class was a 100! highly recommend him!

best math professor i have ever had. if you are not a good math student, this is the person to take. if you pay attention, there is no possible way you can fail, or get lower than a B.

he's a human computer! defanantly knows his stuff, and has the patience to answer every question on my level.

Prof Cassidy helps every single person in ur class. His tests are a little hard, but he goes over everything in class. I would defintiely recommend him especially cause half of the math teachers in this school dont even speak english. good rating from me

One of the best professors I've ever had. Very helpful, and explained everything, more than once. Tough time keeping my eyes open because he was very cut and dry. Didn't have a sense of humor. Needs to lighten up a bit, smile more, and gain a few pounds. I would take him again.

Was a great teacher..very clear and concise....goes over the material very clearly and u will be able to understand it...drops the lowest test grade....overall was a great teacher

LOVED him. He explained anything you had questions on. He goes over problems that will be on the test. He doesn't collect the homework but I recommend you do it to keep up ... students that didn't kinda fell behind. The tests were very straight foward. I'd love to take another class of his.

The BEST math teacher. Jim professes in such a way that it is difficult not to 'get it'. He has an excellent approach and will explain the subject matter in easy to understand terms. He makes going to class much more palatable!

SUCH a great prof.. I was never good in math until I took his class. Yes, he was kind of on the boring side during lecture but if you can stay awake you wont regret it.. he is extremely clear and as long as you stay awake and do a few homework problems any class of his you take will be a breeze. Very friendly outside of class, too.

Jim is absolutely the best math teacher I ever had, I had him for two class and wish he taught electronic and physics. He is very patient and explained everything so clearly. You can see he enjoys what he does. PS ask him about his NASCAR driving!

Compared to the math teachers at this college, he is incredible. It is hard to find a good one. I personally suck at math but I am doing well in the class. There is a lot of material. If you do the hw you will definitely pass. He is very boring and completely unpersonable. He never smiles but he does know how to do his job.

Anybody could do well in this class. Just do the homework and the tests are like five times easier. This professor was through and explains everything in detail and does mind answering questions. The only thing that graded in this class was tests.

Nice guy, but moves fast in his class.. doesn't interact with class too much, doesn't ask questions to make sure you understand.. tests were a bit difficult, homework is optional.. class is pretty hard, but he seems to want to help you if you ask for it.

I had him for MA36 as well. Excellent teacher. He goes over the material plenty of times before moving onto the next topic, so u learn the information quickly. tests are usually easy as well, and he hardly checks homework...

excellent professor. You show up, do homework and you will pass. He may not talk much but you will learn more math in his class then you have ever! This was my second class with him and he makes math seem so easy... trust me... I am afraid of MATH!

He is very helpful and I did learn a lot, but also did most of the hw. He is pretty monotone during the class and has a personality of a flea! I almost fell asleep some days but he does teach well. He also gets very akward when a girl asks him a question, it's strange.

I think he was a great teacher, he goes very fast but will give you time after class to ask many questions and will sit with you until you understand. He is extremely smart but is a great teacher for students who don't understand math. I would take him again in a heartbeat. loved him.

i think he is 1 of the best math teachers i had i took algebra in high school and barely understood it he took everything i didnt understand & taught it in a way that was easy to follow the work is easy if you pay attention he is a little weird but past that he is a great teacher homework is not mandatory but if you do it your will not fail 5 tests

I took his MA36 class online and it was very clear. He clearly stated everything that was needed and even wrote a program to help speed up Matrix reduction on the TI series calculator. He is very helpful and will explain everything needed.

I took him for Stats as well this past semester and he was a great teacher. A bit monotone, but has a genuine interest in seeing you succeed, he always starts class by asking if anyone has a question on the homework and will go over as much as necessary. He is a stickler in grading but he won't test you on something you did not go over. Recomend

teaches very good. i took him twice atcually. hes very thorough and will answer ur questions. hes just strict about makeup exams...other than that hes awesome!!!

good professor. it was easy to keep up with him and understand what he was teaching. he's almost entirely lecture and doesn't interract with the class but he does his job well.

He is a very nice person and will answer all of your questions, however I would not recommend taking him. I was an A+ math student my entire life & I was supposed to take precalc but since I didn't really need math I opted for an easy statistics class.. so I thought..Extremely boring, not thorough, confusing even when he answered questions.

Very good teacher. He will help you when you ask questions. Doesn't check homework, but if you don't do the homework you will not do good on the test. Gives about 3 test and a final in one semester. Do well on the test, and you will pass. He stopped checking attendance after the first few weeks.

You should really do the homework! There is a lot of material and it can get confusing. He tries really hard to make everything clear though. A lot of people still struggle. He'll help you as much as possible. Doesn't check hw, unless you are super at math, do it or you'll fail the test. He drops lowest test grade. I would reccomend him

Taking him for statistics...very good a teaching this subject. The first time I attempted statistics I dropped out because the teacher was terrible. This guy is good, test is easy enough if you do the homework..because in these classes the hw is the exam..if you don't ask for help, you won't get it because how is he supposed to know? Recommend.

Another comment said he has an excellent approach to mathmatics...no other way to describe it..teaches the subject the easiest way possible..makes it very simple..knows his stuff and enjoys it. Do the homework until your comfortable with the topic because in these classes.....the homework is the test.

Outstanding professor. Keeps on subject, does not waste a minute of your time and reviews very well before quizzes and exams. One of the most clear and concise math professors I have ever had, extremely professoinal. Never gets frustrated when helping students with problems they may be having. Take him if you can!

Awesome prof! I'm in no way math inclined and this man made it easy to understand in the simplest terms possible. If you pay attention in class, listen to his responses to other student's questions and do the homework, it's an easy A. Great quiz reviews prior to taking them. If you struggle with math, this is your guy!

Best math teacher I've ever had. He explains everything so well, and as others have said doesn't waste a minute of your time. He reviews before every test (which is basically the homework - even though it's optional) and all of the tests are very reasonable. Math went from being my worst to my best subject because of him. Great professor.

This guy is the best Math teacher I've ever had. Trust me, he's really good at what he does. He speaks clearly, is energetic from the start of class all the way to the end, and is open to helping his class. If it weren't for Prof. Cassidy, I don't think I would've passed. So if you're new to Pre-calc, take his class. You'll be glad you did.

He barely takes attendance in any of the classes ive taken with him, never mind counting lateness, he doesnt even comment if you take out your phone and text, what you get out of the class is completly on you. he doesnt check homework though its benifical to do,4 tests drops lowest adverages the 3. great prof

He is a really good teacher who goes at a good pace with the course. He gives good tricks on hard problems and his tests are fair and reasonable. Im probably gunna get at least an A-

Very clear and precise. He takes everything step by step; there's no way you can get lost, except if you're not there. HW is optional but I would do it if you want a good grade.

He was the best math prof I ever had (I'm not a math person, so this was a blessing). Extremely clear and very helpful tips. He also works in the math help center. Generous with partial credit on quiz & test answers.

Prof. Cassidy is a true asset to SCCC. Whenever I had a question about lecture he was very approachable. Math isn't my strong subject but he was available for extra help which HELPED BIG TIME. He came to class with ENERGY. Drops lowest test grade and give the formula on tests. A+++

James Cassidy might look like he needs to eat a full meal a little more often, but the dude is a superb teacher. Very lenient on test, teaches material very well. All around good teacher, would take him for any math class i ever needed if he was teaching it. I <3 you James Cassidy thanks buddy.

Professor Cassidy is the best Math Teacher out there!! He explains everything so easily and really helps you to understand all that you are learning. Just make sure you do the homework, he doesn't check it but goes over any questions you may have from it, do it or you'll be lost in class! He is amazing, I definitely recommend him to everyone!!

HE IS THE BEST MATH TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD :D, HE EXPLAINS EVERYTHING IN A CLEAR MANER, EASY TO UNDERSTAND, IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION HE WILL ANSWER IT CLEARY, THE HOMEWORKS WERE ODD NUMBERED PROBLEMS IN THE TXT BOOK AND THE ANSWERS IN THE BACK. JUST PAY ATTENTION, AND TRY TO KEEP UP WITH THE LESSONS BC IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THE TESTS.

Mr. Cassidy is the best professor you can take for any math class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Also currently taking pre-calc with him but had him for statistics during the winter and got an A. He's fast but you can learn from him. Doesn't check hw but will go over questions. Hw is ALWAYS harder than the tests/quizzes. Drops the lowest grade. If I needed a 3rd math I would take him again and trust me I hate math with a passion and with him as a teacher I can actually tutor people. TAKE HIM! Oh and he doesn't review for tests but you don't really need it

This man is a very good teacher. HOWEVER, you MUST do the textbook work he assigns. If you dont, you will end up cramming before each test and likely fail. He does not check the hw,so its likely you wont do it.But I am good at math,and regret not doing the work. Its simple, but if you dont do it,you WILL regret it.Extremely helpful;BUT DO THE WORK

Professor Cassidy is an excellent teacher,and he is very clear and concise with his lessons & examples.I took him over the winter ses and for someone who is not really into math the class was a breeze. He makes sure to go over multiple versions of the same concepts and provides plenty of examples, And he is also very approachable and helpful.

Homework is not mandatory. He reviews before every test (review sessions very helpful). He is there to teach, NOT be your friend. Very professional. Just follow his rules and you'll be find. Don't bother telling him some hard luck story because he will remind you this is not high school, not second chances!

ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!!! I am not a math wiz by any stretch of the imagination and did amazing in his statistics class and will be taking his pre calc classes take him if you want to pass math he takes his time and simplifies everything as much as possible gives you all the tools you need. hw opptional

Great professor! He does go very fast but if you need help he has no problem stopping and going over the problem. For those of you claiming to be a math wiz you obviously didn't pay attention or do the homework. He takes the time to review everything you need before all tests. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Professor Cassidy is really good. He does go a little fast like your racing him lol but he is good. He reviews before every test which helps alot. He will answer any questions you have. He doesnt give any review sheets :( but his test are just like the homework he assigns. They are not the same questions but similar. His grading is fair i think :)

awesome teacher, recommend him to anyone who has trouble with math or a hard math class. he doesn't go that fast, when you don't understand he will answer any question. gives homework but doesn't check. homework is for you to practice and understand the topic more. he really is the best math teacher at sc.

Great math professor. If you need stats take him, he is the best. He helps if you need, answers emails quickly, very clear with explaining. Awesome job and I recommend him Highly!!!. He gives h.w, but does not check. Do the h.w and study you will do fine. He gives a review before the 3 tests he gives and the final. BEST MATH TEACHER!!!!!!!!!!!

great math teacher. if you don't like many pop quizzes and rather study hard a few times for a few tests take him! he gives 3 tests and a final and lowest test gets dropped. the textbook he uses really helps if you dont understand something look at the examples in the chapter. do the homework and study it and youll do fine.

He's the greatest proffesor I've ever seen. Gives a lot of homeworks but all for your goodness he asks questions from the homeworks on the tests. He's amazing!

Professor Cassidy is the BEST math professor ever!!! If you pay attention you will know everything. Homework is a lot but it is for own good. Do them, ask question the following class and you'll be fine. Practice homework questions that is on the test. Not the hardest ones either. If you get an A on all midterms you don't have to take the final!!!

I do very well in math overall. I took him for stats (A) and now pre calc (B). He gives homework every night but it's optional, I would recommend to look over it so you know what you're doing. Ask questions, he is very helpful. His pre call class was very long and Borning, but just try to pay attention and you'll pass no problem.

Old fashioned chalkboard with his teaching. Gives 3 tests + 1 final. Got 90's on the 3 tests but 80 on the final, still have me an A. Assigns homework but doesn't check it. Will go over any questions the day before the test. One kid slept in my class everyday and he didnt wake him up even when snoring very loud. Very easy going and respectable man.

3 tests, 1 final. Optional homework but definitely should do it. Amazing teacher, if you have to take any math take him he will teach you the information the right way. He makes me want to stay at suffolk to take him for pre-calc instead of transferring this fall.

My only complaint is that he goes a little too fast during the lectures; but if you have any questions he has no problem clearing everything up for you. Everything is straightforward - what he teaches, what he assigns for optional homework and what goes on the tests. No review sheet but he will review by going over any questions you have.

Prof Cassidy is a great professor he try's to make the work as simple as possible. His class is graded on 4 tests but the lowest grade is dropped. He give you the formulas on the test so that helps a lot

Prof Cassidy is one of the best at SCCC. He explains everything in class very well and gives as much credit as he can in tests. He gives four tests throughout the semester and the lowest grade gets dropped. He will go out of his way to make sure you understand what he is talking about in class and he goes over any questions you have.

3 exams and the final. Do the homework! It will help you get it better. He explains things very well. I withdrew last semester from precalc because the prof didn't explain things well and went too fast but this semester I should get an A. No Mathlab, just questions from the book. He reviews about 30-40 mins the class before an exam. I recommend him

Professor Cassidy is a great Statistics Professor and super intelligent. He's like a walking Math encyclopedia. He's very patient and goes over any questions you have. Definitely take his class. I chose him because of &quot;Rate my Professor,&quot; and although I don't think I did as well as I wanted to, an A of course, I'm extremely glad I took him.

It is not an easy A but as long as you put in the work (pay attention in class and do your homework). The tests will be easy. Homework is not mandatory but recommend the tests are based entirely off stuff you do on the homework. 3 tests and a final lowest of the 3 test grades(not final) will be dropped.

Best math teacher by far. Explains everything really well. Gives a light load every night and doesnt give mandatory homework. 3 tests with the lowest dropped and the final are what make the grade.

Professor Cassidy hes a great person, he gives too many homework but that helps with the coming test. The only thing he should of give 10 percent if you do all the homework but he doesnt. Hes very knowledgeable person but you need to study for his class.

Guys 1000 years old, boring as all hell, but you will pass. He gives 3 tests and a fnal and drops the lowest test. He Is nice and has a sense of humor if you walk to him in his office hours. Id say if you do the homework and don't miss a class youll get an easy A.

I am extremely bad at math and had to spend many hours this semester in the tutoring center and i probably should have failed this class, but with this professor I managed to pull off a C and pass, if you are half way decent at math unlike me i would highly recommend this professor. Also do not skip out on his homework, you wont pass if you do.

Amazing professor! So patient during class if you have any questions he doesnt mind spending time to answer them. 3 tests &amp; final and provides equations on test so no need to memorize them. Awesome professor. The way he explained things was so clear and he took time to answer questions thoroughly. Homework was not checked or graded so its up to you if you want to do them or not. Personally, I didnt do them and I did fine in class. Tests can be a bit hard but as long as you study thoroughly you should be fine.

He is a very nice and understanding professor, but you absolutely need the online textbook for his class. He doesn't assign any homework, only optional questions on the online textbook. Doing them is the only way you will pass. The only grades for the entire course are a handful of tests. If you can teach yourself, this is a good choice.
