Very great guy and easy. Gets off track and can be dry. Tests are very easy. So if you can sit through class you can pass. Review for test is exact. Very laid back, but great guy.

He just gives notes in class and the test review sheet is almost the same sheet as the test. He even used my one of my "A" test scores from his Micro economics course for the first test in his Macro economics course.

his classes are dull, but study the review he gives you and you'll get an 'A'. He also gives extra credit assignments, and doesn't mind if you miss more days than your suppose to.

Yes,he rambles but his stories are funny & it takes up class time. He let us out an hour early everyday. Before the test he gave us a study guide;this study guide was WORD FOR WORD from the test. He's so nice & laid back. EASY A & I'm a slacker! He rocks!

If you do study the study guide and do the easy homework, you will certainly make an A. Tells funny stories. Dr.Chase rocks!

Only 3 tests the whole semester! Gives a study guide (almost word for word) on the tests. No excuse not to get at least a B. Very smart and wise man, you will learn a lot.

Dr. Chase is very laid back and cool. I took him for Micro and Macro and got A's. I wish he was teaching some other courses I needed for my degree;I would take him again!!

Chase is very knowledgable and thorough. if he didn't cover it he takes it off the study guide. he explains everything. Sometimes he gets annoyed if you don't get something easy since he's been doing economics his whole life. He's usually calm and NICE. I actually learned and got a B.

Wonderful teacher! He makes what I expected to be a horribly boring topic extremely interesting by relating it to reality. I plan to take every single class he teaches. Tests are passable, study and you will make an A in his class.

Prof Chase gives clear excellent lectures. Tests are easy and to the point. However if you are looking for a challenge, take an honors section. Honors requires at least one research paper and smaller article reviews. The tests are harder too.

Let me put it this way, Just show up for the test review, study the study guide, do the homework and you will have an A! The easiest class I have ever taken! Prof Chase ROCKS!

The only reason why his class becomes boring is b/c all of them are 2 hours long...the first hour is fine, you do learn a lot, but after that u just wanna fall asleep...still a good professor...3 test, their multiple choice and t/f, barely any hmwk and he gives extra credit...notn less than a B...and be prepared to listen to his life stories lol...

Extremely knowledgable teacher. The way professor Chase teaches is to lecture and explain the material in the book in more depth. Not a lot of interaction with the class during his lectures. I had a hard time learning anything from the lectures. Tests follow a study guide that he hands out a week before test. Pretty simple class to get an A in

i took his class on fridays at 8am... only went a handful of times. attendance doesnt matter and even though he says homework matters i didnt turn in half of it. everything on the test is word for word on the review. easiest A ever. p.s. bribes work with this man.

Mr. Chase is one of the most interesting professors I have ever taken. It was an honor to be in his class. He always keeps your interest with funny stories and makes it easy to learn the material. Make sure that you use your study guide for the tests and you'll definitely get a good grade and have fun as well!!

Took him for Macro & Micro Econ. This is the BEST TEACHER I HAVE HAD AT VCC. He is brilliant, funny, and a great teacher that knows his stuff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I wish he was teaching more classes at VCC!

Take this proff, he knows his stuff, gives you a study guide before the test. Easy A of you study just a little, and I do mean very little, Take him if you want an A., if you have a friend to take the class with, dont buy the book, you barely use it, he tests off of lecture, you only need it for the homework which is every week, but no required reading.

I took him for Macro Eco and the class was easy. 4 tests, study guides prior to the test, and easy homework. I hardly went to the class, never looked at the book and read the study guide one time and passed with a B+. He is very nice and tries to give up to date examples on everything.

James Chase is a great guy all together. He has done everything possible in his life, and he has so much knowledge about economics. I did not buy the book, and i only did a few homeworks. He gives you, and goes over the study guide for each test. I def recomend this class. ALso, if you like government bashing, this is the class for you!!!!

He gives a study sheet for each test. Fairly easy "A". Three tests - none of which are cumulative mid-term or final exams. Tells some interesting stories about life, politics, etc.

This is the best class ever!!! Very easy and as interesting as an economics class will get. Study guides are given for every test, homework is easy.

Only teaches on the weekends, he teaches at 7 different colleges in 3 states...extremely easy, 3 tests, no quizes, 1 non cumulative final....study guides are given before each tests and he tells you the answers to the study guide, know those and your guaranteed an A....didnt buy a book, just used the library copy for the assignments...

Chase is the man, no question about it. He tells interesting stories about life which is why I enjoyed his class. He relates economics to the real world. Show up to class, listen to him, read his study guides and you'll learn something about life in general and economics but most importantly get a fairly easy 'A'.

EASY A CLASS. He only teaches towards the weekends but its an easy class because grade is based on 3 - 4 tests (T/F, MC) and 3 - 5 homework assignments. Before each tests and study guide is given; the homework he does not even check for correctness, just attempted. I took him for both Micro and Macro and it was an EASY A.

Lectures are boring but if you show up for the test review and memorize the study guide you'll get an A.

I'm gonna break it down. This Prof. goes over the study guide a wk before the test. Check this- even though I was supposed to find the answers which the class still goes over. Prof. Chase e-mailed me ALL THE ANSWERS (TYPED).. Ppl, he did this for me for EVERY TEST!!! E Z "A"

Dr. Chase is one of the best instructors I have ever had. I took macro at a prestigious university and got a "D." With Dr. Chase, I got an "A" and finally understand it. His vast teaching experience shows in how he presents the material and tests. I'm taking him for micro (not required for my degree) because I learned so much!

OMG...the smartest professor at VCC. Had tons of degrees and knows his stuff. Test are EASY. Took him for Macro and got a B (didnot go to class and would only study 30 minutes before test). Take him.

Very interesting man. He's been all over the world and in the military and has excellent stories. He knows a LOT about a LOT of stuff, and throws it out during lectures. Makes a very boring subject interesting, and makes it current and applicable to our lives. Easy to get an A if you pay attention.

Dr. Chase rocks! Has so many interesting stories that help you understand the world economy. This may be a Microeconomics class, but he makes it a class on life. You understand industry, international economies etc. He has a lot of experience in the private sector which really comes out in his teaching. Such a great guy!

Ok, this is how easy the class is: took it as a once a week SUNDAY MORNING CLASS at 11am. The hw consist of one question that you find in your notes that you take from lectures. For the tests, you get a study guide and its almost exact. Great teacher, easy class, makes you understand. Take if you want an easy A. You won't regret it.

Teaches on weekends--worth it if you want a good prof. Class is easy BUT he is a very good prof and his lectures stick with you. 8 homework assignments. Full credit if answer is detailed. Do not need to attend class but gives extra credit if you do. Study Guide identical to test so attend the class before each exam where he goes over test material.

I had professor chase for Macro economics Summer 2010 and now in Fall 2010 for Micro economics. He is easy, knows the material and has some funny and interesting stories about his life. Show up to class, do the home work (very easy) and review the study guide he gives before the exams and you will do great. I highly recommend taking his class.

I had Dr. Chase for Macroeconomics. He's an amazing professor. Class is an easy A if you pay attention and attend the review. 3 tests 8 homework assignments. Homework is easy you can always find answers in your notes or google will never need to read out of the text. He teaches out of life experiences which helps you understand the material.

Dr. Chase is the best professor at Valencia. As long as you go to class, listen, follow his method of learning you will get an EASY "A" and don't be afraid to ask something you don't understand, yes he does talk alot but trust it's worth listening.

I hope Valencia fires him so he can go do something that is up to his talent like fix America. He is the most amazing professor I have had. He is old but sharp as a tack. I am pretty sure he is the guy that invented this class by the way he knows the material. Do yourself a favor and learn something in this class. All I have is respect for this man

I love Dr. Chase's class. He is older so he is very wise, but he is just a brilliant man! If you're right out of high school, you might find him a little long winded, but if you're serious about your college career, you will be able to appreciate what he can teach you in a semester, no matter what age. I'm taking him for Macro in the summer!

He's a very knowledgeable person. It's a shame that he doesn't stay on topic though. He often digresses from economics and talks about his life, family and people he knows. I didn't learn much in that class but it was an easy A.

Took him for Micro and taking him for Mactro over the summer! You don't have to buy a book and you learn a lot from the way he teaches. I recommend to everybody who's a business major.

I hate to give anybody super easy ratings because it would imply that you don't really learn anything and it's all handed to you, but if you pay attention to what Dr. Chase, and you do the assignments, and study his study guide, you will learn and you will get an A! Fantastic professor and I recommend to anybody serious about their college career.

I loved Dr. Chase's class. He is a highly intelligent individual who can draw from his own life experiences to make class much more easy to understand. I wish his Macro summer class had not filled up as quick as it did! I am taking his Macro class in the fall! I got an A+ but I did the work, went to all the classes, and studied his study guides!

Great class. If you study Dr. Chase's study guide, and do the weekly homework assigment which is super easy, you should be able to get an A+! You don't need the book, and listening to Dr. Chase teach is incredibly interesting! Recommend to any Business major!

Dr. Chase is really nice! His teaching style is unique. He tends to tell his life stories while he is teaching in order to help you grasp the concepts. Do the H.W. & review the test study guides & you'll do well. Too bad I spent money on a textbook that I only used to answer H.W. questions. He is also generous & gives lots of extra credit!

Dr Chase is an amazing professor. I took both Macro and Micro together. He uses his work and military experiences to explain the different concepts. Doesn't care about attendance, but you will miss a lot if you skip class. I only used the book for homework assignments. He gives a study review for each test. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Best professor hands down! You will definitely learn a lot from Dr. Chase. But if you don't care about your education, or about school, don't ruin it for other students! Serious business students need to take Dr. Chase!

This is by far the easiest A I've ever gotten. Don't buy the book you will NOT need it. His tests ARE the study guide. He tends to repeat jokes and stories but he's a very sweet guy. However, I don't feel I've learned anything from this class that can help me in the far more advanced classes I'm in now :/

The greatest professor at Valencia College, the fact that he mixes real life current events with economics is wonderful. He knows so much about this terrible economy that it's scary. The class has 8 assignments which are worth 40 points total and 3 tests which are 100 a piece. Just spend 1 or 2 days studying and you'll be fine. 100 question tests.

I learned more about current events than I wanted to...you can know too much! That being said, he gives you all the answers on his study guides, so study those and you will come out with an A...

There's something special about Dr. Chase, that most students with a check list of pre-reqs will miss. He teaches theory and its application by drawing from his own personal life, and that made the class so interesting to me. He gives you MORE than you need to get an A in this class, and I only wish he taught more Business classes.

He gets off topic a lot but you do learn a lot. Also it's pretty easy to make an A.

There really isn't a book for this class, nor do you need one. He says "any economics book will do" but in reality his study guides ARE the test (Word for Word). He's a very smart interesting man and this class is extremely easy, however, moving forward I don't think I learned anything aside from memorization which hurt me in more advanced classes.

Super nice guy! Class is 30% talking about economics and 70% about economics which divulges into personal stories; but the stories are funny and interesting. Guy knows a ton! Manageable exams,studied combined two hours for all three exams and never got less than an 80.

This is Absolutely one of the Very Best Professors that Valencia has to offer. He gives lots of A's and you learn Alot. He gives tons of real life lessons. He is old and he is AMAZING. He probably won't be around much longer because he just made it to 80 years old! He has all of his memory and is brilliant. Just take his classes, ALL of them.

I took him for both Micro and Macro & i can honestly say this guy does not belong at Valencia. He is way too knowledgeable and way too smart to be teaching at such a small campus. With this being said, if you have the opportunity to take him, DO IT! Best professor i have EVER had.

Excellent Professor, he simplifies a difficult subject.Little homework, holds a review before each exam that is almost identical to the exam it's self. All you have to do is study his review study guides and you'll have no problem passing with at least a B,but probably an A, if you put some study time into his class.

There are 8 homework assignments that are only 5 points each and 3 tests including the final. The whole class is 350 points so don't fail the tests. Study the study guides.

Weekly 2 questions assignments. 2 tests and 1 final (all multiply choice). He gives you a study guide, study that and will do great on the test. Assistance does count, 1 point per class. Extra credit. Expected to weekly comment on discussion board for participation points. Hes nice, talks a lot but makes it easy.

Dr. Chase is an awesome professor. He lectures but between will have hilarious stories to tell. He is very brilliant person and I enjoyed his class. He gives 3 tests which includes the final. Study guide is important because if you want to pass just use the notes he provides from it. He requires a discussion post for extra points and attendance.

Professor Chase is a very smart and very nice professor if he sees that you are trying and you are doing the work he will help you pass. The test are very easy they are identical to the study guide! His lectures can sometimes drag on. Discussions boards are mandatory this class includes a decent amount of busy work but if you do it you will pass.

Dr. Chase is one of the most interesting people I have ever met. I took him for micro and macro. Each lecture he makes economics apply to real life and always has stories to go with it. He is a fair grader and really makes you understand the information. No textbook is required, but make sure you post on the discussion board weekly.

Took him for both ECO2013& ECO2023 back to back. He is the nicest old man ever!Study the study guides and you'll get an A. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK, he provides all the material needed to pass. if you ask he'll give you answers to the exam. If you're a business major take both classes at once, the first half of the semester the material is the same.

Prof. Chase is a very caring and knowledgeable person. Tells personals stories about his life and his time in the military that relate to subject. Total Grade consists of 3 Exams, 6 Assignments and 14 Forums (Online). Lectures can be boring at times. Gives study guides before exams, in which help a lot. Put in some work, you will get an A.

I am currently a west campus student, I traveled once a week to east just to take this class. If there is a chance for you to get an A why not? He is an older guy who teaches based off life experience, HIs work load is very min. but can add up if you are lazy and careless. I finished all the corse work in 2 weeks but thats because im on it.

Good professor. Very wise and help you a lot. Gives very good feedback when you ask him questions. Lectures never been the full 3 hours, usually 1.5-2 hours and he let go. Text book is not required. Learn a lot from his lectures and fair grader. the 3 exams during a semester and very little homework. Would take him again for ECO2023

This Professor is like 90 years old and real sharp. He has some amazing stories about his life and a real understanding of economics. Just make sure you do all the forum question, assignments, and study the test notes to get an A. Oh and do not buy a book.

Great guy, truly loves economics and calls out our government during his lectures. Encourages you to think with your own head and not let others think for you. The assignments could not be easier but the exams were harder. Make sure you study the study guide a lot and go through the powerpoints.

As a student I HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking his class. You DON'T NEED A BOOK as he has real life experience to draw from. Your graded on attendance, 10 group discussions, 5 homework assignments, and 3 test. So show up, have an opinion, use Google, and memorize the study guide and you WILL PASS EASILY.

Dr. Chase is great. He has tons of life experience as an economist that he shares and lectures off slides that you'll have access to. There are also a ton of discussion posts to do, plus extra credit. Don't bother with the book as Dr. Chase tests off the slides and lectures. He gives exam review with notes. Dr. Chase is one of those professors that you feel immensely privileged to be educated by. He is an 84 year old war veteran with countless stories about his life experiences which are HILARIOUS. The work is simple, offers extra credit, tests are just like the review, and he goes over every question afterwards to give the best feedback possible.

This is one of the best Valencia has to offer. The only problems are he only does weekend classes (friday and saturday). But there is no online component like in most other economics classes. I took him again for ECO 2023 and loved it!

Dr. Chase is an amazing professor with lots of life experiences. Many complain because he relates real life to economics ( everything is logic for him), which makes some to use their brains. His lectures are a must attendance, otherwise the notes he provides and his discussions are not enough for his tests. He gives extra credit and willing to work

Dr. Chase is a great professor! I learned so much just by listening to him relate materials to real world experience. Dont ask stupid/the same questions. He gives extra credit. I did well with ease but others failed... You get what effort you put in & he can tell if you cheating hes older not stupid, blind, or deaf.. just study/grow up!

Professor Chase is wonderful! He is very kind, and makes class very easy to pass. His lectures can be long but they are very simplistic. You are graded on 3 tests, as well as some discussion posts and very short assignments. He tells students about his experiences that relate back to what you are learning and overall makes content easy to remember.

He is an amazing teacher and super easy to pass he lectures a lot and uses a powerpoint but your grade really depends on 24 EASY assignments and 3 Test but all the test are easy as long as you read over the study guide but I am a highschool student who took his class and it is the easiest class I have ever took at Valencia

A teacher with a lot of knowledge and flexibility. In his class you only have to pass the 3 exams, you will not need the book and no snowflakes. Be open-minded.

I was dreading this class after taking Micro 1st with a diff prof however, Dr Chase is the best! Clear instructions, engaging & super responsive. Gives you everything to pass his class, no book needed, everything covered in ppt & discussions. The ability to work ahead and gives plenty of extra credit if needed.

At fist the class was confusing because of the forums and embedded questions but once you get the hang of this, this class is an easy A. Sometimes Dr. Chase can grade heavy on assignments.

Was initially scared for this class especially because the reviews werent looking too great but seriously, if you want to take eco, take this professor!! Not much work at all, and honestly his discussion boards were very easy to understand + he seemed to have a great sense of humor.

Definitely recommend this professor for econ. The coursework was pretty easy and as long as you complete everything on time, you should be good. He offers extra credit, and his discussions are easy and entertaining to read. The due dates are pretty flexible too, so you can work at your own pace.

He is a great teacher that really made me enjoy learning about economics. The class is 2.5 hrs long and I never slept in class. He is very funny, he will tell you all about his military endeavors lol and he gives other great life tips if you pay attention to his lectures. Study, show up to class and put in the work and you should get an A.

Depending on the length of the class you take with Professor he will talk for almost all of it. I took a Friday-only class which lasted about 2 hours and 45 min and he talked for about 2 and a half hours. He is very passionate about his subject and his views but keeps things respectful. Just go to the lectures and listen well and you should be fine

Professor Chase is such a great teacher his lectures are very important and you should not miss class. He is very understanding and he will let you make up work if you have an issue. His exams are all multiple choice so just study to pass the class. He is so funny and most times he talk about his life I would recommend anyone to take him.

Show up to every class and be a sponge. He doesn't allow technology in class; just bring a notebook and write notes down (even non-economics stuff he gives great tidbits). He explains Economics in a sensible way, and don't hesitate to ask questions. His stories and jokes are incredible, but he'll repeat some stuff as he's an older man. Must take!

He doesn't allow technology in his class, but if you take notes and listen intently, you'll be fine. He is extremely knowledgeable in economics and a lot of the information is straight off the dome so the online files are gonna be your best bet for the mid term and the final. Overall, he is a funny guy who loves to talk about life and economics.
