Prof Click is great! very helpful, a lot of work if u take him in Summer, he is fun, willing to help you to become a better writer and future rhetoricians... Thanks Prof Click you rock!!! I highly recommend him if you really want to learn how to construct and develop good essays for you future University classes
Passionate prof, really cares about his students!! Extremely articulate, funny and very intelligent. There are 3 papers, no homework but a good amount of reading with interesting class discussions that make you think "outside the box". ALWAYS ON TASK and well organized. I urge you to take his class! He truly respects his students and their opinions
There's a lot of outside reading for this class and a couple of assignments and quizzes. Your grade is basically based on the papers and final exam though. Mr. Click makes an effort for his students to understand the readings (and basically lectures or does group comprehensions during class time). I really liked that about him; he's pretty fair.
Passionate, powerful, and profession. Professor Click is possibly one of the best at PCC. His passion and method of teaching will prepare you for university level classes and beyond. Highly recommend!!!
Professional, organized, and fair. Writing required: 3 essays, 1 research paper, and 1 journal, based on 10-14 essays and a novel. The material is difficult, because you have to think about it and put your own opinion out there and then back it up. This class will make you a better writer and thinker for all your other classes, especially ENGL1B.
I loved his class; he walked us through our papers without treating us like children and loves class discussions. I am waiting until I can take him for Eng 1B because I know I'll learn in his class. He is attractively intelligent as well =] He isn't strict about attendance, but I rarely missed his class because I actually enjoyed it..
I have to admit, I've had some great professors at PCC, but I've definitely developed a soft spot for this guy. He's insanely intelligent, thoughtful, personable, caring, and unbelievably helpful. I have no doubt that my writing skills have vastly improved because of Prof. Click. He's great, and I look forward to taking another class with him.
Very nice professor. I wish every professor is like him. I Learned a lot and worked a lot for his class. Very fair to all students. Like him.
Professor Click is the best English teacher I've ever had. He is very clear and helpful. He really cares about his students and is very easy to get along with. His class is not hard but he does expect for you to read and turn in all 4 essays that are assigned. The final is based on the readings. I would definately take this professor again!!!
He's very clear on what he's talking about, but he's usually talking about things that aren't all that interesting. He incorporates a lot of philosophy into the class. Beware: He's moody at times. He definitely helps you be a better writer if you seek his help. If your first choice for an English class is full, this is a decent alternative.
He's extremely clear and helpful. He is a very difficult grader, but your writing skills will benefit from this. I thought the class reading was very thought provoking. He's only moody if he knows you are not paying attention. If you are not willing to follow directions, participate in class, and think a lot then take another professor.
Ok first off this teacher is GORGEOUS!! I didnt want to take my eyes off him so that helped me pay attention in class. He is however a difficult teacher. I suggest him for students who are serious about learning something. I loved him, learned a lot, enjoyed the class, but then again im an english major!
This Professor is the best teacher I have every had. He really teaches you how to be a better writer and comes through when you need help. He will go out of his way for students, is always available for questions and will never make you feel inferior. Girls, he's cute, however do not take his class unless you are prepared to earn your grade.
Great Professor!!! Extremely intelligent not to mention super sexy!!! I strongly recommend this prof; you will learn a great deal!
passionate about english and philosophy. seems genuinely interested in what students have to say.. great professor
passionate about english and philosophy. seems genuinely interested in what students have to say.. great professor
Great Prof!! Tough grader but you learn a lot from him. Show up to every class, pay attention, take notes, and you'll pass his class.
first English professor i had in college. Passionate about teaching when giving examples he relates it to real life issues. the class is somewhat hard you just have to be on top of your game/
Great professor, he will help you to get the best grade, however; you must read everything he assigns and attend the class. The class discussion are relevant to real life. If you are a fan of philosophy, you will love this class. He is not hard at all, but do respect his time spent there and complete assignments and you will be fine
Good teacher but is very subjective. I think he gives grades to those he likes. I was not happy with his performance this semester. It seemed like there was nothing I could do to get a better grade than I did. I think other things in his life affected my grade and others.
Prof Click is interested and engaged in what he does. He wants for his students to do well and goes out of his way to offer help. If you are lazy or disinterested go somewhere else, if you want to spend a couple hours a week learning, sign up and come prepared because he brings it. I LEARNED in his class, it was worth his occasional moodiness.
Firstly, I was never excelled at English class. The highest grade I've recieved in all my years in school was a "C" in this subject. Until I took Prof. Click's 1A class, I manage to reviece a "B" in his class and I was very satisfied with his performance and my own. Do youself a favor and take his class.
He is one most genuine interesting professors i have ever met. His class is not hard, but not easy, so if u do ur work and do for what he asks u will get a good grade. Just have to keep up with the readings. The only thing is that this semester he didn't have much office hours(not full time teacher). Overall very passionate and u will learn a lot.
He's a very nice guy. He's kind of dark so it's not obvious but he's a good dude. As a teacher all I can say is he does exactly what a teacher's supposed to do. Teach. What he doesn't do it baby you or cruise you. So if you want to learn, work hard with him and you'll do fine. If you're lazy or uncooperative he won't hesitate to fail you!
Best professor ever! I'm half way through the Fall semester, and all I can say is that this class is fantastic!
Really nice and helpful professor;understand students and concern about their grades. It's hard to see at first though.
intelligent professor with passion for what he teaches! thats what i remember about him.. classes were never dull because he kept you thinking. not an easy grader but he is fair
This is a true professor who genuine passion to teach understanding of humanity, encourage critical thinking and inspire growing work ethics. Work hard and use your intelligence at full capacity. You may never find a better professor.
Great Prof, super helpful and passionate teacher. Provoking conversations and interesting topics. I highly recommend this class.
He's a great professor; very clear and understanding. He refers to a lot of philosophy in his teaching, and he teaches in a Socratic way. The discussions are relevant and make you reflect back on yourself as an individual. He pushes you to write better and to be a better person. Highly recommended!
He's a great Prof and a UC berkeley graduate. I took him for eng 100, and he honestly is better than my 1A Prof. I learnt a lot from him. He pays special attention to grammar, and, if you have a desire, you’ll know the material by the time you finish the course. he's funny and (Girls) he's cute. ;)
He is such a funny and caring person! He really knew how to make class a comfortable learning enviorment. If you needed help with anything or had any questions, he was always there to help and answer them. He is just simply amazing. I'm taking him for Engish 100 in the Fall. ;D
HE'S THE BEST!! It's so refreshing to have a Professor who actually wants you to succeed and is still passionate about the material he's teaching. I learned a lot from his class and I highly recommend it! I now have a strong foundation in English!! OH and he's funny too..haha
Although English is my second language, I got an A with this class. Because of Prof. Click,I have learned to write a college essay and have more self-confident to write. However, his class is not easy and you need to be a good student to get a good grade (just like any other class).
Great Professor, He knows the subject well and makes his class interesting. He is passionate when he teaches, which projects onto the students. His class is straight forward and you grow as an individual. Highly recommend him!!
Everything anyone prior to my post has posted in my opinion is very true of Professor Click. He is the best college professor I've ever had, and class is never boring. Very passionate at teaching and helping students understand. Great instructor. I though I haven't completed the semester yet, I am very happy to be taking his class !
Prof. Click is by far one of my favorite professors. He'll inspired you to be a more conscience critical thinker! His lectures were never a bore. You can tell he is passionate about teaching! He is funny and charasmatic. I will definitely be taking his Eng 1a class in the fall.
Prof. Click is a great teacher. He inspires you to write well, teaches you as much as he can, fills his lectures with stories and experiences. His class was never a bore. He is very considerate and tries to help you with your problems. He explains the articles well so writing isn't as difficult. took this class in 6 weeks: tough but well worth it!
click is such a BEAST! I took him for extending spring and although 3 hrs a day, four days a week seems long it really isn't. He goes in depth to every little thing and honestly does care about the student. Like he graded 2 classes' essays OVERNIGHT! name me another teacher willing to do this?!?! Honestly you will leave his class wanting more!
He is the best professor at Pcc. He gives a lot of opportunity to students to do better in class. He really care about his students. He is very nice, honest, and helpful. Take his class.
Never seen such a hard working teacher. Although sometimes his lectures get a little dark but they are awesome! Plus he is cute in some ways
I love Professor Click! He's the coolest professor I've ever met! He's smart, hip and fun. I'd always look forward to his class. If you watch How I Met your Mother, he's definitely Ted Mosby.lol
Click is a highly intelligent individual, and a fine rhetorician. By far the most complex teacher/professor i have come across. Interjects philosophy into his lectures as if his life depended on it. His overall presentation is Refined and calculated. Really allows students to connect with him from a distance. The kairos in click is strong.
Some clarity; Professor Click is a CUTE fellow! He's quiet at first, but he warms up to you. VERY detailed professor. Assignments are not hard. Apply a lot of your opinion and free thinking in your work and you will WOW him. He's the best. Girls give him gugu eyes, sometimes I catch myself doing it too ): he has an attractive personality. Bewareee.
Click, he is a cute teacher. He has an alternative rock look to him. Other than him being attractive he is very helpful, we discuss a lot of the readings in class. I like that he helps expand our mind with critical thinking. Im not very good in english but the readings and discussions keep me focus. Totally recommend him!
Awesome Professor!
VERY helpful professor! He really cares about his students' grades. If you go to his office hour, he will help with anything you want. He's not easy, but if you compare him with other professors, you will be glad you chose him! also gives one free pass, which means you have one chance to delay your essay after due day without dropping any points!
I loved Mr.Click,he cares a lot about his students. My writing skills weren't the best starting in the class but improved a lot by the end. If your not a strong writer I highly recommend him but make sure to take notes and do your work because they come in handy with the essays.
honestly, This class was pretty challenging for me but professor click is such a great professor. During lectures, he likes to hear peoples opinions on whatever topic we were discussing. There's no right or wrong answer when it came to him, which I adored. be very open minded in this class, he likes that.
Really helpful professor. Ask him anything you need and he will be happy to answer all of them. Is not fast pace and slows down to make sure everyone understands the lecture. Highly recommend, will take him 1A
I love professor Click so much. Even though I hate writing papers, I would like do more English classes for him. I envy you guys who have not taken 100 or 1A because I want to take his classes forever.
Best English teacher ever. He is so funny. He gives out a lot of essays but provide great feed back to help you improve. He goes very in depth about his subject and what hes teaching but it makes it much more exciting and makes it easier to understand. His class isn't exactly easy but if you try you'll do great. I strongly recommend him.
Professor Click is the BEST! Take Him! :) not an easy class but trust me its not that hard. I loved his class very engaging class discussions. He goes beyond the content very clear. He is very open minded so smart! Very Helpful. I enjoyed his class. Definitely taking him for 1A! Best English class.
Prof. Click is my ultimate favorite professor of all time!! He is hilarious, he knows what he is talking about, and he is passionate about his subject. In his lectures he explains everything in great detail by using accurate examples. He also provides great feedback on rough drafts. I'm taking him for ENGL1A and I'm so excited for another semester!
Long lectures but makes it interesting. Loves to hear his student's opinions no matter what. Kind of a tough grader but gives you good feedback. Got a B+ but i wished i could've gotten an A.
Prof. Click is great! Lectures can be a bit boring but they do help with understanding the texts. Most of the class time is spent discussing the readings which aren't too bad. Also almost everything you read in class is focused on Philosophy. Essays are not very difficult. He's an awesome professor and very helpful! Also he's pretty funny!
Really great professor! His lectures are discussion heavy. This class is a safe space to speak your mind and let your ideas flow. He encourages you to think for yourself and grade is largely based off your interpretation of the texts. Very philosophical. You will view the world differently by the end of the semester.
I feel so lucky to have been enlighten by Prof. Click's interpretation of the world and English. He made me appreciate English and I learned how imperative rhetoric is in the world no matter what your major is. His lectures were amazing! And makes you think outside the conventional. He is just great and open minded. Your effort your grade.
Click is awesome! He is clear about what he wants your essays to be on and he gives helpful feedback. The class discussion is really interesting too, but only if you don't have an aversion to philosophy. Not too many essays, and he doesn't make the essays too long (the longest was six pages). I felt very comfortable expressing ideas in his class.
How do I even begin with Click? He is such a cool dude. I love Click. He's so quirky and has a good sense of humor. I took him for 1A and 1B. Aside from his personality he's a tough grader. NO way around that. Even if you're on of his favorite students if you don't do his work you won't pass. He's very helpful. But you must go to his office hours.
Great professor. He is passionate about the subject and encourages his students to participate in the lectures. Even if you don't, it's cool. Super chill and interesting classes. Not too much homework either. Just do you're assignments and put some effort and you'll be fine. Definitely recommend.
Pro. Click's class is the coolest class I have ever taken at PCC. His class readings are not old-school although I like both new and old. And if you participate class conversations with prepared, you will not feel the time since there are too many good ideas popping between professor and students. Take him. You will enjoy this class.
Professor Click is one of the coolest of all the English Professors at PCC. He is very straightforward with what he is looking for in each essay. His passion for literature is displayed in each of his class sessions. He is also very funny. Highly recommend Professor Click.
One of the best English professors at PCC! He lets you know what he expects and he really helps you become a better writer by having you think about the world you live in. HE is so straightforward and always there to make sure you understand. Click made me fall in love with English-lit specifically. All I want to say is that his class is a MUST.
Where to being with this guy.. Professor Click is an artist. He really inspires you to brainstorm/reflect about your thoughts while stirring up new ideas and concepts. He has a million ideas and they're all spectacular. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone especially those who enjoy philosophical-type discussions.
Awesome professor!! he expects critical thinkers instead of the usual regurgitation of lessons. Definitely would recommend this to any philosophy major or psychology major
To say Professor Click is "inspirational" is an understatement. I have taken him for 1A, 1B, and Post-Colonial Lit. all the while growing as a person. Lectures are amazing and the carefully selected books he picks have become favorites of mine. He's also funny and very stylish! I always looked forward to coming to his class and you will too.
Professor Click was a great teacher and had a positive class atmosphere. Im not an exceptionally talented student, but what got me an A was time management and initiative. His class will be difficult, but if you schedule yourself and break assignments/ readings into small pieces you will succeed.
What you learn here, you'll use when you transfer and beyond! Uses Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle as the basis for required readings. Participation is a must. Hardest "A" I've ever earned!
Prof click was very good. I still use his handouts for papers. 3 papers make up a majority of your grade and you need to show up every class period. Amazing guy.
Great professor. knows what he's teaching and makes the class a very fun and enjoyable environment. i definitely recommend.
Professor Click is very passionate about English and wants his students to succeed. He makes it very clear on what he expects on essays and assignments. He is definitely a tough grader but gives strong advice on how to improve your writing. Be prepared for quizzes based on reading assignments, and a research paper at the end of the semester.
Professor Click was a really inspirational person and is a smart funny guy. He is passionate about writing so when he grades he can be tough. He does make it clear on what he expects in essays and takes his time teaching you how to structure papers and works cited. Remember to do your readings and don't procrastinate on your papers.
I took him for the Winter session and he made a 3hr class fly by, his lectures are interesting, he's funny, and really smart. Listen in class, do all the readings, and follow his instructions exactly to get the best possible grade.
AMAZING! He always comes to class full of energy so lectures are never boring. Participation definitely matters, do NOT miss class. There are also two extra credit opportunities. He's definitely a tough grader but he is also a fair grader. 2 in-class essays, 2 essays based on readings and 1 research paper. Take him! Trust Me! He's kinda cute too!
He is very energetic and passionate. His lecture aren't boring and you'll learn a lot.
I don't understand what is SO great about him. I've had him and honestly he constantly goes on and on without teaching the foundations of the said subject (1A, 1B, 1C). He grades extremely tough. His class to me was averagely entertaining. He is also a little cocky and arrogant sometimes which i strongly dislike.
He this odd cuteness to him its really weird. I just finished his class and overall chill. I would definitely take him again. I don't particularly like English but this class wasn't so bad. Go to his office hours for help and participate so he sees your effort.
he only gives 3 essays but is a tough grader, writes notes on final paper but couldn't understand his hand writing. he didn't return the essays back until the week the next essay was due. the discussions in class were boring. though he's understanding and wants his students to achieve.
James is an amazing professor. He gives the best feedback on papers and he never leaves you not knowing the material. The passages he chooses are always a great read and he genuinely cares for his students. He gives the most enthusiastic, inspiring lectures. Missing even one day of class affects your essays but he's so awesome, why even ditch?????
This class is definitely not an easy A, but if you wanna improve your writing and have a new perspective on society, this class is the one for you! His lecture is inspirational. You will not only be a good writer after this class, but also a good thinker. Read your paper a few times before submitting it. His feedback is important to get an A.
Professor Click is a nice guy and a good professor. However, I felt like I was in a philosophy class. The readings that he gave us were philosophical and can be interpreted in many ways. But if you do not interpret it as he sees it, then you will get a bad grade. He grades POORLY even if you have a well structured essay.
Quite honestly, this class is more like a philosophy class than an English class. The readings are mostly from thinkers like Plato, and for me, it was a little difficult. There isn't much homework other than reading journals and the essays. Lectures are often very long, and I personally didn't have the willpower to stay awake. Sorry, Click.
Professor Jame Click is not one of the best, but "the best." If there were more professors with passion and dedication, our education system would be much better off. It's impossible not to love him. Also, he gives a ton of extra credit. If you want A, do the extra credit, then you will be fine.
Hands-down! Really Easy Class to get an A! Just wanna say he is the best English professor in the United States!
One of the best professors I've had the chance of taking at PCC. He cares about all his students. He's also very funny, which makes the classes more enjoyable. He's willing to help you if you do your part as a student. I would take his class all over again if I could. Love his passion for teaching. I highly recommend taking his classes.
A very easy-going professor. Always makes class interesting and active. However, you should not skip class without notice in advance.
Prof. Click is a good teacher but I'm not sure I experienced him while he was at his full advantage, seeing as my class with him was in the morning and he's by his own admission a night owl. I thought he went on and on too much and that class discussions weren't the most interesting, but I'm picky about that sort of thing. Good guy overall, though.
This was my favorite class I've taken ever. No joke, like including all of my schooling. Professor Click is nice, helpful, very funny and all of his classes are really interesting. He really cares and respects what students think about things. Hes just all around awesome please take his class (there's only 3 essays the whole semester).
If you're taking this class as an english class, don't. He literally teaches as if it's a philosophy class. He's a nice professor and has a great humor but i still was soo bored in class because we read the most boring books ever. Essays were graded hard and we didn't focus on how we could write better. Honestly get ready to fall asleep in class.
I was never the best at English during high school. At best, I would get B's with one or two A's in English. My essays were sub par and mainly sub optimal. Just like you are here, you are looking at the reviews to see if you should take his class. Simple answer: Yes. Take his class and prepare to become a better writer because you can.
If you want to be a good writer, you probably should take this class. Professor Click gives good feedback. You only need to do 3 essays. The most important thing is that you can't procrastinate. This class is definitely not an essay A you need to work hard for it.
He is a caring professor who wants his students to succeed. No wrong answers with him although he tends to get too philosophical for and ENGL 1A course. No clear grading criteria which makes it difficult to understand how you're doing in the class.
James Click is amazing , He made english 1A , which is mostly about plain writing skills, into a passionating philosophical class. He is funny and does give you all the tools you need to succeed , with outlines and sample paragraphs to draw inspiration from. His class not only made me a better writer, but also a better person. Take him !
Great guy, but his handwriting is sooo bad. He writes in all caps, but his r's are like n's, p's are like j's, etc. His handwriting whether it's on the board or on paper is mostly illegible. No clear grading criteria on paper. Majority of his class are just discussions. Taking notes is not easy b/c he jumps around a lot. Other than that, he's good.
The best professor I've ever had. He is very good at explaining things. His style, attitude, and lecture are Wow. He looks serious face, but he is very nice and kind to his students. He wasn't friendly with me, but I always respect his passion. His class is all about philosophy so, if someone doesn't like it, better don't take it.
Professor Click was great! His comments are very specific, he outlines the problems in your essay and he helps people who ask for help. I wouldn't take again because I do not enjoy philosophy and the discussions because it just isn't my thing but he is a really great professor for English and i owe him a big thank you for teaching me philosophy.
Loved him! He seems unapproachable at times, but really he wants his students to succeed and I found his office hours to be really helpful when it came to revising my essays. His number one thing is to participate in the lectures, which is always philosophical so if that's not your thing I wouldn't recommend his class. Super chill and helpful prof!
Prof. Click was a really cool person, although he class was really long he made the best of it. There was hardly any hw. Three essays not too hard, reading journals, two in class essays which were just essay questions and you had to respond a 1 1/2. He was always viable in his office hours to be of any assistances. Somewhat of a tough grader.
Had Professor Click for both English 1A and 1C. I received A's for both while procrastinating on his essays. Attend his class, pay attention to his discussions, and write good papers with the information. I never really participated either. 3 essays worth 10,20,30 percent of your grade. 87,86,91 on the 3 essays and ended up with an A in class.
English 1C itself is hard, so don't think you can get an easy A in any English 1C classes. Professor Click is awesome, although his lectures are a little too philosophical for me, he breaks everything down for you so even if you don't understand the text, you can understand and write your paper. Also, his participation grade is massive!
He gives out really harsh comments and is not very understanding.
Professor Click was a tough grader that gave a lot of work, but he really wants to see you improve in your writing. He pores over your essays and gives feedback unlike any other English teacher that I've ever had, ensuring that there is always something to improve in the next essay. With his great feedback and deep lectures, I recommend him highly.
Be ready to read and analyze a lot. It isn't an easy A. His ENGL 001C includes many philosophical texts (I loved it) that may seem scary at first sight. However, everything becomes super easy once the professor explains the material(and he does it perfectly).
not an easy A, however one of the best English professors at PCC in my opinion. He makes sure to give you thorough and detailed feedback on every paper. I personally loved his lectures, as mentioned they are pretty philosophically inclined. You will definitely improve your writing. Don't mistaken his personality for intimidation, participate!
I really dont not recommend you take his class unless youre interested in philosophy. You dont understand what he talks, and you cant recognize his handwriting. Especially youve worked very hard to wrote an essay depending on his requirements, and revised 8 times with tutors helping, but not get expectant grade that make you frustrated.
Don't like all the philosophy stuff in the class. Better if we could learn about writing and Eng comp with topics we care about and can relate to.
Insensitive to the needs of students. Gives little time for essays. Is slow in lecture and expects you to start brainstorming for the essay the day you get the prompt. Talks too much philosophy. Gets off topic. Barely notices when other students leave the class. Doesnt seem to care. Too lenient. Doesnt engage the audience. No phones allowed.
This teacher is only good if youre interested in philosophy. Other than that, good luck getting through each day of his class. Its boring
He isnt an easy A but hes a really interesting professor, his lecturers are interesting if youre into philosophy or psychology. There are 3 essays throughout the semester and he grades off improvement. If you try in his class youll pass.
Prof Click should NOT teach English. He should teach Philosophy instead. I did not learn anything about English composition, only about Philosophy and the readings were old and boring. Even if you work very very hard in the class, your efforts will not matter cause he grades so hard. I would not recommend taking him. He will ruin your GPA.
Too much philosophy. Gives 3 essays, final one worth 30% of grade, but you get NO feedback on how you did on that essay other than a grade, which is frustrating if you worked VERY hard, and would like to know why you got the grade you did. Did he even read final essays? If so, why is there NO feedback, so we can know why we got the grade we did?
I took this course straight out of high school and it was definitely a change of pace from what I was used to. "James" is one of the most interesting and energetic professors that I have had to date. The course is reading and analysis heavy and is almost entirely essay based. Just write on the same ideas referenced in the lectures for high grades.
Prof Click has fav students and grades based on that. If you are not his fav, no matter how hard you try, you will only get an average score on papers. Doubt he reads final essays; just gives a grade in line with what you got before. So no chance to improve. Best to avoid him, if you can.
Prof. Click has a very deep understanding of the material he teaches and he can tell when you put your best effort forward. While it was definitely not easy to get an A in class, he gave really thoughtful feedback on my papers that ultimately made me a better writer. Also, participation is key! I'd highly recommend Click if you want to improve!
Professor Click is extremely good at choosing topics in the book to discuss. He will challenge you to understand the meaning behind everything. Essays are challenging and he gives really good feedback during office hours.
Great Prof. He took off a ton of stress bc of Covid. Easy A if you do your work and read. Philosophy heavy, but interesting.
An amazing professor! If you love learning philosophy he's the professor to go to. He may be a tough critic but it helps you grow as a writer. Lots of reading and writing but has helped me to analyze more intellectually with depth. The books he assigns to read are very interesting! Also attractive.
Even though this was an online course, I learned a lot. Professor Click had amazing lectures prerecorded in each module which really helped out to complete the quizzes. Really great readings, clear expectations and interesting philosophy. Also very good looking.
I rather enjoyed professor Click's class, despite the oddities and weird personal conversations. Out of all the general English courses I took, being an English major, I felt that his were the most informative and helpful for future papers. Class discussions were philosophy heavy (going over Plato and Nietzsche), but I felt that it was awakening.
Professor Click definitely helped me become a better writer and reader! His class wasnt so bad and I really enjoyed reading all the books and mini lectures that were included in this class! I will say hes very particular in the writing and he grades heavily on that!
Although his philosophical lectures are dense ,yet they might be interesting if understood. however ,he's a tough and firm grader .I really strived to get an A watching and thoroughly understanding his entire lectures. However ,such a simple mistake ruin your entire grade on your paper. People who left positive feedbacks are great writers
Shouldve listened to the 1 star comments. Way to much philosophy and not enough writing.
Material is difficult but interesting. I had a blast taking this class. You have to put a lot of effort into the class to get a good grade. You can't do the bare minimum. Professor Click looks intimidating but is really helpful and always open to discussing anything. He is extremely knowledgeable. Not easy but worth it. Philosophy heavy.
He is a great professor however he does have a lot of tangents. He grades papers pretty liberally but very limited with his comments. Discussions can be fruitful but only if classmates are interested and read the text. Overall, it is a pretty simple class. Just show up, talk here and there and turn in your three papers. He will work with you.
Very philosophical. Very much not a fan of teachers teaching different subjects that what is specified in the course number. Read a book about a monkey, but it wasn't too bad.
Does not try to help students who ask for help.
Prof. Click is very misunderstood and unhelpful. If you work very hard in the class, your efforts will not matter cause he grades so hard. He doesn't help you improve your grade. Neither is his feedback helpful, and it is difficult to reach him outside the class. If you want to RUIN your GPA, take his class. NOT recommended!!
He doesn't give many opportunities to receive feedback which makes it difficult to understand how to improve writing, but his lectures are great and you will do well if you are already a decent writer.
Professor Click is the epitome of pretentiousness. He seems more concerned with showcasing his intellect than actually teaching. He is a very tough grader and his demeanor fosters an unwelcoming environment. A disappointing experience for those seeking a true educational connection.
One of the if not the best English teacher I have ever had, Professor Click if you are reading this, YOU THE MAN. His class wasn't easy or hard but perfectly paced and made to be engaging and interesting. You will not regret taking this class, just do start your work right at the beginning of the week. Course Material is A1.
I consider Professor Click's English 001A course easy-going. Over the summer, I took his class online. Even while going on vacation, his work was definitely manageable. It consisted of a discussion every week, 1 short response essay, and 1 longer essay. His feedback is also super specific and helpful.
Super chill dude. Class description says that commitment is 14 hours/ week, but I don't think I spent more than 4 hours per week on this class. Professor Click is super understanding. He has these grace periods meaning you can turn in discussion responses a week after the actual deadline. Amazing person, his lectures were enjoyable as well!
IF YOU DON'T LIKE PHILOSOPHY don't take him. If you do, do.
From my first English class in grade school till my final English class in College, I have to say Professor Click has to be my favorite English Professor. His coursework was engaging and actually interesting. Lectures weren't a bore to watch and I truly enjoyed his class and felt as if his feedback helped improved my writing.
Amazing professor! Provides great feedback for your essays and allows you to edit your mistakes to get a higher grade. His class is heavy on philosophy though, so you should consider it if it is not your thing. However, he does make great recorded lectures to guide you through them. Quick with answering your messages. 100% would recommend!
One of the best English teachers I have had. Just do your work on time and manage your time properly and you will be golden. The work is interesting and I don't like reading but I found myself actually reading in depth for the assigned work.
The best English teacher and professor I have ever had. Made an English class actually enjoyable. Take his class. All the bad reviews are from people who tried to AI their way through or were just lazy. Took this class with DT8, Gen Chem and Calc 2 and still got an A. He lets you know what you did wrong and how to improve on it.
Goat teacher
Professor Click gives interesting lectures and is very responsive to messages but he's a slow grader. He gives great detailed feedback and allows you to rewrite your first paper for a better grade which is his version of extra credit and it's super helpful. Overall, I enjoyed this class.
Such a good professor and good class, really enjoyed the discussions on the text we would read as well. He provides good and substantial feedback on papers as well. I believe he has a total of three papers per semester, but for our class specifically he only assigned us two.
I enjoyed the material and he seems like a chill guy, but wow, his lectures are dry and boring. If you're thinking of taking him, do NOT take an in-person class. He frequently goes off topic and rambles about material unrelated to the class itself, sometimes for up to 30 minutes. Everything you actually need to finish for the credit is in Canvas.
Honestly, a really good professor. He provides really good feedback on the assignments, so you can improve your writing. He gives extra credit as a rewrite of your first paper. Overall would take him again!
He's a very genuine and chill professor. His lectures might get a bit dry at times, but I think it comes down to how interested you are on the subject. If you like to read and discuss deeper topics, this is the class for you. If not, I'd definitely find another class.
