Dr. Curl is one of the best professors at MJC. He goes out of his way to go above and beyond the expectations I've ever had for a professor. He is very dedicated to making sure you understand the material. I liked his lecture style. I would take him again. Reciprocate the effort he puts into his job and you will succeed. He is very motivating.

He is the best teacher I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, his course is difficult, but he is VERY involved with his students and does everything in his power to help you succeed. You will basically have no life, and 100% dedication is necessary in a class like this.

He is passionate about what he does, and he's good at it. But I did not appreciate his attitude and the way he spoke to me and other students in a very condescending way. He cracks a few jokes but then will get very strict all at once. I dropped the class simply because I won't have enough time, but I'll be signing up with a different proff.

Dr. Curl is an amazing professor. He genuinely cares about the material and makes sure to not only teach you the concepts, but also how they apply to the real world. His class is not easy by any means, he treats you like an adult and expects a lot out of his students. Statistics can be a difficult class no matter who your professor is. JUST STUDY!

Horrible! I took Statistics with Mr. Curl and after a few weeks just couldn't take it anymore. He spent more time on a soap box promoting the textbook he authored than anything else. The last straw was when he refused to accept an assignment because I didn't use a color printer, though never said the assignment had to be done with a color printer.

Dr. Curl is definitely very intelligent and really knows his math. He has a ton of passion for what he does and what he teaches. The problem is he is very condescending and doesn't explain things in a way that is understandable. So much homework and I literally spent every minute of my day studying just to barely scrape by with a low C.

best teacher by far. I took him for a summer course that lasted 5 weeks and believe me it was very difficult.. I cried three times. you MUST study and breathe stats in order to pass. Hard exams, lots of homework. Advise group studying because thats what helped me receive a B. very helpful, he even came to barnes and nobles to help us study.

Don't take in summer if u have work or obligations that keep u busy. You'll need a lot of time to study and do hmwrk! He posts up the recordings of his lecture and has a facebook page where you can ask questions and talk to ppl in your class. He relates stats to the real world. In general, stats is difficult but he makes it easy to understand!!

Dr. Curl spends more time talking about his dog and grandchildren than he does statistics; however, he still expects you to be responsible for the information. Hes condescending and sarcastic. He actually rolled his eyes at a student when they asked him two questions for clarification in a row. The study guides are not like the tests.

Dr. Curl is one of those teachers that you have to get on his good side for him to respect you as a student. He can be very condescending and inappropriate with his remarks regarding student performance. His lectures are just explanations of how to do the homework; not an explanation of purpose of stat and how to apply it. I would steer clear!

Worst teacher I've ever had. Curl requires an unholy amount of homework and clearly deviates from the criteria of other stats professors. He has been doing this longer than most students have been alive. He methods are outdated and unpractical for future graduate students. Expect him to argue over and over again why David Moore, author of the required statistics book, is an idiot and has no idea what statistics is. Extremely sarcastic and rude when questions are asked.

Makes you download an ancient math processor from the 90s which doesn't work on Apple products for labs. Only works on MJC library computers. Horrific class.

This sorry excuse of a teacher told me to my face that I "screwed up" when I apparently got an answer wrong in his office. I would avoid this teacher. He treats junior college like a business. He is strictly there to make money off you and wants you to fail and continue to repay them. This freak also had a bondage magazine in his office.

Untrustworthy, unprofessional. Make's a lot of "mistakes" on grading. He smirks when students fail & rolls eyes if asked to elaborate a concept. I did all my homework (there is a lot), he refused partial credit work in my exam. When asked him a question, he yelled at me in front of class & smirked. Tutors can't help w/his teaching. Dr. Curl will give you a failing grade for things like not coloring your charts when you do the work correctly and understand the concept. He spends too much time peddling his own book/expertise over the textbook author David Moore. He is choppy in his lectures and unclear, then irritable when you ask questions. You'll need tutoring/study groups.

Took his class in the 80's and still remember him. 1st day of class: walks in, slams books down and says "I had to work 8 long hard years to get here I'm at and you should work too". I asked a question on the chain rule and he sneered at me and said "Ask me during office hours. I don't want to waste class time explaining something so basic" - Jerk!
