Class for Calculus. Clearly goes over material in class; fully answers and understands questions. does give pop quizes almost exactly from class notes so you have to go to class. take home quizes are easy good grades if you get them checked at the learning center. easy to figure out teaching style.

Calc is impossible for me, and I actually ended up dropping the class. He knew what he was talking about, and explained as well as you can explain calc. But I felt he went kinda fast.

gives quizes, dry, but funny, humor, hardly uses the book (but you still need it). Teaches you what you need to know, nothing more. No curve, but the tests aren't that bad, but I think there is an indirect curve because my average was a 80 then I got a 72 on a test and my average went to an 89, I dont know. Nice guy, don't get offended by his jokes

Very good teacher if you can handle his personality. He has a very dry sense of humor, DO NOT GET OFFENDED. He moves quickly but will answer questions and rework problems if you ask. He is much easier to get along with if the class participates, if nots he assumes you don't care and doesnt go out of his way to make you care.

If you go to class everyday and actually try you will do fine. He is very short and to the point but if you have questions and go to his office hours he is very helpful. Tests are pretty hard but there are lot's of other assignments to make up for that. Also gives out projects that can be somewhat difficult. Overall, not that bad

At first, Eby wasn't my cup of tea. I thought he was rude and barely made any communication with his students. But in the end, I realized that Eby was funny, if you actually listen to his quick jokes. His teaching method is top notch in my opinion. He gives out quizzes after every lecture and projects. I made an A. Take him!

throws a lot of information at you in class and then the online homework is always worked differently than the way he teaches. So you have to learn his way for the tests and the online way for the homework. Very frustrating

Alot of people think he's rude and sarcastic, he really isn't that bad. People are just too sensitive. He posts practice tests online which helps ALOT! Overall, the class was not very difficult. As long as you do all the homework, book reports, and study for the tests...getting an A or B should not be too hard. I would recommend taking him.

Comes off as a hard nose, but it becomes funny over time. Kinda a lot of work, (online hw and projects in between tests) but the work is good because it just adds more points to your grade. You think you're doing bad until the very end when you see how all the points added up.

Cool dude, great teacher, understands effective ways of teaching the material. I took him for minimester so I only had 14 days to master the course materials, it wasnt easy and required many all nighters but I made a high A in the class. That being said, I just came from Calc 2 so it might not be a good idea to take my word for it.

Eby has a test the second week of class and is one righteously sarcastic man. He is also the most helpful, and stimulating professor I've ever met; head and shoulders above ANY TAMU prof. His teaching genius is wasted on the average Blinn kid, but I am very blessed that I was able to spend 2 semesters under his tutelage. Mr Eby, you are the MAN.

I took stats with Prof Eby and I loved his class! He's sarcastic and doesn't sugar-coat things, but he isn't mean, in my opinion. Some students are scared to ask questions, but I was always raising my hand, and he always answered my questions clearly! Take his class if you want to learn the material clearly!

Took him for elementary stats. Gives lots of easy assignments to boost grades and is very helpful if you ask him to explain. Never used the book. Practice exams and notes are all online. Exams are part group/open notes, part solo w/o notes. I averaged C's for most exams but still made an A in the end with the grade boosts. Definitely recommend.

He's a good teacher. You earn what you work. If you really wanna learn something, he's a good teacher; if you just wanna earn a "good grade", don't choose him.

He did a really great job of explaining the content. He was also super funny in a very sarcastic and cynical way. His tests are hard but if you went to all his lectures, you'll be fine. The only downside is that he gives a TON of group projects. If it wasn't for the group projects, I'd take his 1325.

I took this class in a May minimester and although it was A LOT of work he was a very good prof. He was very clear on the way he taught his class and I really learned good with his style of teaching. If you needed help during class he will def help you. The cons of this class is the group projects but in the end they really help your grade!

I'm taking Professor Eby right now and I looked at this site before signing up. He's NOT a bad teacher. If you just sit through class and write what he writes you're not going to get it though. Ask questions. He's sarcastic-yes but you'll be fine. Office hours ALWAYS bc he's really helpful one on one. There are also plenty of quizzes.

Professor Eby was honestly one of my favorite professors. I love math tho, but he is very good at explaining things when you ask him. He's pretty sarcastic so you can't be offended easily. He gives lots of group projects (which is annoying) but he gives lots of grades which will really help u! Do all of the extra practice he gives & u will do great

If you do the homework, projects, and quizzes you'll be fine. Im horrible at math but I'm getting a B. Has plenty of office hours and is always willing to help. Extremely sarcastic so do not get offended. Just go to class, do the homework, and STUDY for the tests (look at old quizzes)

Really good teacher if you are good at math. He's a know it all for sure and makes you think. You will have a lot of quizzes but they are group quizzes and they help your grade lot. Group projects are annoying though because they are hard. He's not a tough grader but you have to be on top of your game at all time.

I know a lot of people say he's hard and yes you are going to have to work a little but all, in all he cares about you and your grade and will answer any questions you have. He's sarcastic but I find him funny, I mean not hilarious and more like dad humor but still he's pretty light hearted. Tons of group projects but again he helps you and will answer any of your questions. It's math so your going to have to work but I liked him as a teacher

I am pretty good at math and have a slight chance at an A do not take if you're lazy or bad at math. Good professor but makes material way more difficult than the other mat 1324 professors.

He's a great professor and when I say great I mean he's willing to show/tell you step by step how to solve a problem not like most professors

Professor Eby really does care about how you do in his class and he is more than helpful when it comes to asking for help outside or in class. His lectures weren't boring and he made his tests almost exactly like the quizzes so if you study those before the test than you should be fine. His group projects were hard but there still doable. Take him!

Calculus 2 :Fair professor. Helpful during quizzes, if you are confused just asked and he'll explain. If you pay attention you'll do fine. Exams are only 7 % a piece and there are 5 of them. This helps if you aren't a good tester!! Overall a nice guy with a sarcastic sense of humor.

Everyone on here that says Eby is a bad prof just wants to complain. He goes over the material at the beginning of classes then gives a quiz over it for practice (you can use notes and classmates help). He is very willing to help you if you just ask, and he bumped everyone's grades significantly at the end of the semester.

Eby comes off as sarcastic but he does care. If you ask questions he will slow down to answer you. It is a college class so don't expect to cruise through it unless you ask questions. There are a ton of quizzes and projects, they're easy and use them to boost your grade!! I failed 2 tests, never got higher than a B on any and still ended with an A.

I took Eby last year and having taken a Cal 2 class in HS I expected to breeze through easily. I was wrong. The coursework is complex and requires a heavy dose of thinking and sometimes the lectures can be hard to follow. However if you're a CS major this class will be beneficial to you and might make later courses seem easier. Also ask questions.

I have always been horrible at math and was terrified of it my freshman year, so if youre bad at math this is the professor to take! He gives lots of quizzes, tests are exactly like quizzes. Make sure to keep up with the homework it will definitely make or break you. I ended up getting an A and his point system definitely works in your favor.

He seemed unfriendly at first but he really does care for his students, he gives tons of work but his grading system works in your favor. I bombed 2 tests and still made an A. homework and pop quizzes are how we learned most of the material but he will slow lecture to answer questions if you ask, definitely recommend him if you suck at math

Calc2 is a very difficult subject but I thought that Eby did a good job teaching it and going over examples to help us better understand the material. He was approachable and would answer any questions that you might have. He assigned group projects that I enjoyed and I felt that they furthered my understanding of the content. Overall a good prof.

Professor Eby was awesome. Sometimes he will go fast in lecture, but he is always ready to take any questions. I think this is the main reason students have difficulty in this class, is that they are too intimidated to ask for help and try and catch up in their own time. He also lets you work on quizzes with classmates, which really helps.

TRULY cannot thank this teacher enough! He does give a lot of quizzes, but they're never a surprise and you're able to use your resources. They do suck, but once they add all up, it gives a huge cushion for your grade overall. He also makes the info understandable. Took this class 3 times and this is the only time I understood what was happening!!!

The only time you really ever go to class is when you want to ask questions over the homework or quizzes but attendance isn't required. He is very good at making sure you understand the problems you are struggling on. Overall, there was a lot of homework/quizzes every week and tests were pretty tough but he gave extra credit/ 2 attempts on tests

EBY has his lectures online from already being posted, but also recorded from actual lecture time to make it easier and to go back and refer to. He gives a decent amount of hw but it is not that difficult once you catch on to it. He helps you but you need to ask and reach out to him first. Overall great prof and I plan to take him again for 1325!

I personally loved this prof because of his sarcastic sense of humor. It's true though, he doesn't teach during the class but you can ask him ANY questions and he is always willing to help with anything, you just can't be afraid to ask. He talks fast and doesn't go over specifics, but he will go out of his way to help. Lots of time on tests and hw.

I took EBY for 1324 and 1325 and loved it! He does go a little fast but will always slow down if needed. Attendance was not mandatory and he recorded lectures. I had many 1v1 zoom calls when I got stuck on criteria. He gives out extra credit that is definitely worth doing. Multiple attempts on hw, 3 attempts on quizzes, 2 attempts on exams.

He definitely makes you work for your grade. I would take him again he responds to emails all the time. You take quizzes in the class and you can use your classmates for help so its like group quizzes. If you have questions just ask he will help and explain but you need to speak up. Overall I would take him again if your lost ask for help!!!

Prof Eby doesnt have the best reviews, so I was nervous taking him for a 8-week course. However, I think he is a great, honest teacher, and I like the way he grades. There are a lot of quizzes (in class & Pearson) and homework but its for your own benefit! Bc With this class you need practice on the material-Not easy! Hes Willing to help!

Professor Eby is a solid choice for Calc 1. You have daily quizzes and they get annoying after a while, but they really help you in the long run. He's a lenient grader and gives a ton of extra credit on review days before exams. There's a ton of online homework but it's great practice for the tests. Would definitely take him again, very underrated

Awesome professor, he gives great feedback when you ask him questions in class about the assignments. Gives you a lot of homework, but that's necessary since calculus is not easy. Do the homework and quizzes and take your time understanding them, do that and you won't struggle on his test. You do have to study, even if you already took calculus.

I'll be honest at first I didn't like Mr. Eby. Expect lots of homework, and almost always a group quiz at the end during class, so you have to watch his videos outside of class, but they aren't long. The great thing about Mr. Eby is that he makes it really easy to succeed as he provides a lot of points on tests for showing work. DO HIS EXTRA CREDIT

I took his class over the summer. The grade you end with depends on how much work you put into the class. If you do all your homework and the bonuses you should be fine. DO THE TEST REVIEWS! If you have a question he will help you. his tests are a little difficult, but that made the final feel easier. you have to put in effort to do well.

Prof. Eby is a great professor. He is very sarcastic and may come across as a little grumpy but he's not the "evil" professor people claim he is. There is a lot of homework but that's typical of a math class. He gives out in class 'quizzes' but you can work with the class and he will answer any questions you have. He gives partial credit on exams.

Unlike what some reviews say, Eby is actually a very good calculus prof. Tests are structured directly from homework, you can use a calculator on tests, gives REALLY good extra credit opportunities, does a fun "escape room" review before every test (for 10 extra points), in class "group" quizzes, and lastly teaches well structured / fast lectures.

you will get out of this class what you put in. he does go fast during lectures, but the homework system is a good way to catch up and relearn material. if you need help, ask him and he WILL help you understand it. there will always be a group quiz at the end of class, and tests are part online and part in person. be prepared to put in effort!

Although 1324 is difficult, Eby is a relatively solid teacher. He is concise with word choice and kinda funny. Despite this, if you tend to struggle with math, I wouldn't suggest any of his 4 or 8 week courses. The class itself is dense and he moves quickly; I recommend a 16 week of his instead.

Group quizzes over online homework. Do the homework ASAP the quizzes come up fast. Lots of opportunity to work with classmates but don't rely on them. Gives partial credit on exams. Fun group review before each exam, opportunity for extra points. If you find in class lecture hard to follow, there's videos online where he is much easier to follow.

Honestly probably one of the best profs I had. He'll make you work, but he knows the material very well and is extremely helpful if you go during office hours. You're expected to watch the video lectures before class, and he goes through everything in much detail in the videos. Overall great professor, I wish I had him for Calc II too.

The reality of class is that if you stay on top of things, you won't feel lost. If you keep a super high grade in Pearson, it makes a bigger difference than u think. Obviously, a lot of people dont understand his dry humor. Kids assume that when he gives u the quiz and you say thank you and he says "dont thank me yet", that he hates students lol.

Very sarcastic, but he isn't necessarily being rude. Quizzes almost everyday. Really easy class if your u've already taken the class before. Lots of extra credit opportunities. He will scare you into studying by overplaying the difficulty of stuff, but in the end he's just making sure you are preparing yourself for all possibilities.

I looked to drop this class after the first day, but looking back I am glad I didn't. Eby has a very sarcastic sense of humor and his lectures are very informative for both the homework and the exams. On the exams make sure to study a lot, but is lenient with partial credit. Also a quiz after every lecture, sometimes can take home.

I do not believe he was as bad of a professor as people said. The material is hard but that is just Calculus 2 for you. Your class grade is about 75% tests and the final, but if you are willing to do the exam reviews he offers, you can get lots of extra credit and he is a fair grader. You get out what you put into this class, hard work pays off.

Lectures are basically useless since he goes too fast and he doesn't show useful problems. However, I just used the textbooks instead and the class was a breeze. The tests are basically the homework, and he nevers gives you enough time, but he curves heavily. Don't reccomend if you are looking for a gpa boost, but with a little effort you'll pass.

Took Math 1325 as a minimester. He warned us that it was a LOT of work and he did not lie. He had video lectures that were fine, but not amazing. I'm not sure whether his ratings are low because lots of minimester students... It was 6 hours a day some days so be ready for the lift... but he gave extra credit and lots of attempts on quizzes/tests.

Great Professor! There is a lot of homework. There are in-person quizzes every class, and some were even take-home quizzes that were due at the start of the next class. There was an individual project that gave 4% extra credit towards the end of the semester. Grading is done on a point system. There was LOTS of extra credit.

Overall he is a really good teacher and cares about student's actually learning the content. He is a very lenient grader and since his tests are mostly free response you get some credit for showing work. You have to ask questions if it does not make sense otherwise he just keeps going. Group/take home quizzes and extra credit too. Good guy

Point based system in this class makes it really easy to make an A. If you do the work you will get a good grade. There is plenty of extra credit opportunities and studying for the exams is super straight forward, just practice.

This class takes a lot of effort. Every lecture matters because new material is always introduced. Quizzes happen after every lecture, although they are manageable, often group, and sometimes take-home. Exams are fair. The professor is helpful, though a bit snarky. The workload is heavy, but if you put in the time, you'll be rewarded.

I think he is a great professor! He is very caring and offers a lot of extra credit, which is super helpful. His tests are relatively easy and are mostly frq so you get partial credit. He is patient with questions, but lectures move quickly and he may gloss over topics unless you ask. Be prepared for lots of homework and quizzes every class.
