He is a great professor and very easy to understand. His test are really hard because they are list and explain. Unless you like studying a whole lot I would avoid his class because of the tests.

If anyone has a prblem with Dr. Towns, they should look in the mirror as to who might really be the problem. He is the best professor I have ever had!

Great Prof!! Many people don't like him because he is hard, and makes you work for your grade. You will really learn stuff in this class. He is very caring, and wants to help you. He doen't treat you like a number or statistic!!

He's nice. Classes are interesting. Just read and study for the test. If you don't know everything about everything, then you are not ready for the test. Know the notes and the book. It is just memorization.

I've never seen him yell at another student of any kind. Dr. Towns is very nice and would be a great person to carry on a conversation with outside of class. I have not been very impressed with his class though. He values hard work, that's good, but because it was hard for him in school it's hard

This prof has been one of the FEW profs that care about the students. He really cares about the grades his students make, and he cares about the person who makes the grades. if you have trouble with the class, its NOT him. show up, listen, and do as your asked.you will be fine.

If you say he is too hard, then you need to go back to being a KIN major, he is very helpful and loves to teach. He is challenging and will not just give you grades because you think you deserve it. He is a great college professor

the last two people don't know what they are talking about. dr towns will help you, tell you the truth and he tries to set you up for success. you have to study, don't wait til the last minute. try hard and he'll help you

No middle ground with this Prof. He was VERY helpful to me - ask for his help and be respectful of him and it will be reciprocated. Has little time for laziness. You MUST study for this class - start early. The more you interact with others in class, the more you learn.

Definately has "favorite" students. If you want a good grade then you definately have to suck up. If he doesn't like you, you don't have a prayer. He will hold a grudge against you all semester. Being a teachers pet seriously helps with this man, he will be very lienent on your tests!!

Dr. Towns genuinely cares for his students. If you ask for help he will give it to you. Leave your Load-a-bull at home, he can see right through it. He wants you to leave SFA with an education not a grade, isn't that why you came in the first place? Oh and to the idiot earlier, it's LIAR not "lair".

Dr. Towns was great. He really respects students that have to work full time just to be able to attend college. The class is not hard. Just participate and study a little before the tests. Will not be intimidated by students who think they should get a free ride. this is college not high school.

This class is the hardest class you can take at SFA. Have never studied so much in my life and still only managed to get a B. Comprehensive final. Hard class but a very nice teacher. Take this class if you love working and are willing to learn.

Dr. Towns is the first prof that I have had that caused me to actually think about applying textbook principles in my life. I wish all profs were like him.

This was the hardest yet best class that I had in my undergraduate degree.

Crisis communication was the best and most applicable course that I have taken in college. I wish all classes would be this meaningful. For the first time, I found a prof who really cares for people.

Awesome teacher!!! Great guy, funny, will always put a smile on your face. Easy material, all memorization. Don't need the book at all. I love this class it's fun. Take Towns!! He tries to scare you on the first day, and claims to be hard. DONT let him FOOL you!! He's cool!

I really enjoyed this class. When I first told people that I had Towns they said "Drop his class, he is hard!!" I got worried but on the first day of class I knew that the class wasn't going to be hard. I love this guy!!!Awsome professor! You don't have to buy a book, and he makes class fun! You actually learn! I recommend this teacher for everyone

Dr. Towns is real. The comments about him on "rate professor" tell more about the student than they do about the prof!

I don't understand the negative comments about Dr. Towns. I would recommend him and this class to everyone!!! I wish it was mandatory! I learned more in this one class than in an entire chunk of my other classes I've taken and a lot of it has to do with Dr. Towns down to earth teaching style.

This is an amazing course with a wonderful professor. You will absolutely have to study for his tests, but that is kinda why your in college.

Amazing professor! those who badmouth are just angry because he either 1) kicked them out of class because they violated the rules specifically outlined in the syllabus or 2) are miserably failing and are just bitter. this man shows favorites but gives everyone in the class a chance to be his favorite.

Dr. Towns is a genuine and nice man who wants nothing more than to see his students succeed. Don't get me wrong though, it is a hard class and if you don't study you most likely will fail. He does have favorites though... easy way to be a favorite. Go to class and don't disrupt and you're a favorite. EASY AS THAT! Great Professor and person.

Dr. Towns is a really good teacher and such a sweet guy! His tests are list and explain, so they do take some outside effort. But this is college and those who say he's hard are lazy. I took this class with two friends and it made studying for the tests so much easier! As long as your willing to study some flash cards, you'll do great!

I really enjoyed Dr. Towns! If you study and work hard there is no doubt you will make an A or high B. Be careful though, the first 2/4 tests determine if you will pass or fail.

Amazing professor he is a really sweet and interesting guy who tells A LOT of stories. The tests are just the stuff from the print out notes but be ready for A LOT of writing because they are 100% written questions, no multiple choice. If i would've paid attention and studied more i would've made an A. Take him he's a great guy.

Mr. Towns will make you look into yourself farther than any other class you will take in college. He has been the most respectfull and trustworthy instructor I have come across on campus. Mr. Towns has a set of beliefs that are no longer accepted 100% by todays youth. nevertheless he sticks by his beliefs and encourages others to succeed. A1 man

Great class from a great professor. Always clear with his expectations and really cares that students learn. Would highly suggest students take any class that he is teaching. Ten years after taking this class I'm still using valuable lessons he taught!

Hardest class I have ever taken. He is a great man, but the class is too tough. I made a 90 on every assignment and an 85 on one test and came out with an 89. He will not bump it up. I want to say that his personality makes the class worth it, but it is affecting my GPA in a bad way. I hate to give this man a bad review, but the class is hard.

Dr. Towns can be really boring but also really wants you to succeed. His test is multiple choice and mainly from the book. Read the book and do the online activities you should be able to pass.

Dr. Towns is very enthusiastic with the subject that he teaches. I personally thought he did a great job at trying to engage the class. Some of the things he teaches are kind of irrelevant but as long as you study the book outline, you will pass EASILY. Take this class for an easy A!

I took his M class once a week and he's very enthusiastic. Don't be late, pay attention, he lectures over what will be on the test. Do NOT buy the textbook, he prefers his outline. His tests were fill in the blank so there is some difficulty but he grades easily. He makes class fun, only 4 tests.

I would take any class he taught!! When I had him as a professor in the early 80's, he made classes so much fun that you didn't want to skip them!! Even when I took his Death and Dying sociology class, his personality made it a pleasant experience!! Even now, over 30 years later, I still remember "by an act of my will...", and I smile!!

To be honest, I didn't think I would like this class, but going through the course and understanding the communication process, I loved this class and made me change majors

Really cares about students success. Exams are straight from his outline that he provides for you. Gives reviews. Go to his office hours and get to know him. He cares about students who care. Exams are straight memorization. list and explain layout. Super easy if you study.

Dr. Towns is by far one of the best professors at SFA. He cares about your success in his class and will help you in any ways he can. MAKE SURE YOU STUDY. He changed his tests to 100 multiple choice questions to increase your chances of passing.
