After 4 years of college, I can honestly say this was the worst professor I have ever had. He didn't even give us a syllabus and then docked my grade for resubmitting something late when his policy was never written anywhere. Def the worst professor ever.

i had him as an advisor. all he did was talk about star trek. he gave very little interest in me being in his major, so i changed majors, one reason being his self absorbed, obnoxious self.

I know alot about computers, and I had to work very hard to get a good grade in his intro class. Very confusing and awkward approuch. Never take him for intro. ESU COMPSCI department is very poor indeed. Be cautious about choosing a prof for compsci

This Professor and several other Professors at this University have no idea as too the foundation of teaching computer science to interested parties wanting to learn computers and computer programming.

Extremely Confusing, Extremely Hard Material, the tests are unbelieveably hard. It's a shame that his class is required for CPSC majors.

In all my yrs of college, Prof. Emert is "KING" of LOUSY professors. He's truly in it to stroke his own ego & show off his OWN computer knowledge by lecturing you to death!Not much computer time given & very difficult tests w/ridiculous essay q

I'm not at all computer illiterate, but I failed his class. I couldn't figure out what the heck he was talking about 95% of the time. This class was SO bad and his voice SO annoying I actually had to walk out on some days before I completely FREAKED!

Bad teacher. Class consists of him reading powerpoint slides to you (I can read myself), and attendance is required. Book is a waste of $120. Unfortunately, he's the only one who teaches 141 so every major is stuck with him, otherwise STAY AWAY FROM HIM!

this guy is the biggest screwball on earth, he should be admitted into a mental ward, he brings his kids to class like they are his guinea pigs, and his office looks like a dumpster, i heard he whacked off in his office and someone peeped on, but that's just hearsay, do not take this guy AT ALL

Horrible Professor. Nerd!!! Notes every class, except for some rough, and I mean rough tutorials. Homework sucks also. Erases disks, stupid jokes, and you learn NOTHING, except how to take notes off of slides... DON'T TAKE HIM! I MADE THE MISTAKE AS WELL AS HUNDREDS OF OTHERS!!!

Never take him. I hate it. He makes computers more confusing then they really are. The notes you take are never on the tests. His tests are hard and cofusing questions. The only good thing is if you do well on the homework and bad on the tests and okay on the quizes you can still pass with a B.

DONT TAKE HIM! You learn from ridiculous slides that have whacked algorithms no one can understand. He just repeats the slides in class like we cant read. The tests are insane, you have to copy exactly what he had on his slides or you get no points. GAY.

EVERYTHING is powerpoint. And don't waste your money on the books, they're not used regardless of what he says. All his presentations have a slide of "required reading"...and they're all blank. Every time he just says he forgot to list them. He never answers e-mail and looses assignments. You have to stay on top of him like he's a little kid.

Emert is horrible, he doesnt give you any help, he says to use flashdrives but u need diskettetes, the class for computers should b easy but it's actually hard, yes its easy to email but it's pretty hard when u have a 25 page tutorial to read from...do not take this class if u r a freshman the first day go to enrollment and drop it!

Terrible teacher. Very disorganized. Several "trick" answers on the quizes. Holds class responsible for his shortcomings.

No attendance policy but if the class count is low he will throw out a pop quiz as punishment to those not there. Takes an impersonal shotgun approach to teaching. A 100 level course but you better be an expert with Word and Outlook before taking the class. He will not tell you what you are doing wrong Very Frustrating Very slow to grade projects.

half of the class dropped because 99% had a E/D for a midterm grade. he tries to trick students on his quizzes, argues with students through e-mail, thinks he knows everything. plain and simple...DONT TAKE THIS GUY!!! officially the worst teacher i ever had.

Without a doubt the worst professor I've ever had. I have a 3.9 GPA and I am struggling to get a decent C. He makes mistakes and then punishes you for them. Avoid at all costs. As a side note he is sarcastic and rude.

Power points are a waist. Impossible to follow his lectures. I have learned more from wikipedia then his power points and book.

There's something wrong with this guy. He has an odd obsession with flowers, and can't explain anything to save his life. His lectures are completely irrelevant to his quizzes/tests, and he has a horribly flawed grading system, just sayin.

Worst Prof I have had at ESU. Took his PCs and Uses class. His powerpoints are over 3 years old. His quizzes and tests are auto-graded, and yet he claims to not have time to respond to emails. His lectures are pointless and you're on your own for learning anything in this class. Also there is at least 2 quizzes and 1 test a week. Avoid at all costs

Hands down the worst professor I have ever had. You should avoid this guy like the plague. I am not sure whats more outdated his slides or his knowledge of the subject at hand.

He had to be the poorest excuse for a professor I have ever had. His power point is overly confusing, with multiple mistakes that he will not correct even though he admits to the mistake. His homework assignments do not correspond to the text book you have to use the Index to fine the correct chapter. He is being removed from teaching this class

Prof. Emert is the least professional and unorganized teacher I have ever come across. Don't waste your money on the very expensive textbook, it was not once referenced or even mentioned. The only way to communicate with him is his office hours because he is tardy with responding to emails. He does not take attendance. Just study practice quizzes.

While Prof. Emert might not be the worst Professor of all time. I can say honesty that I will never take another course with him again. He is a waste of my time, energy, and money.

I am attending his pc security class. This professor is rude to students especially if you are a male. He appears to favor girls and is perveted. He lectures the entire class about mostly useless material and it is impossible to pay attention. You must learn all material on your own. Quiz and article analysis due every week. Not an easy 100 level

Another horrible prof. He is rude and arrogant. Material is outdated. He read DIRECTLY from slides and does not elaborate on anything, yet has the audacity to tell class that reading from power point makes a bad presenter. So boring and makes you come to class.
