He is very interesting and his tests are so easy it's great. He is very interesting and tells great stories. He knows a lot about his subject and has a lot of personal experience.
very easy!!!!!!! easy A!

This class is interesting. He is a very good lecturer. He tells funny stories and also is very knowledgeable about the topics. His tests are also easy. The only thing is you need to go to class to get test dates and information for the tests. I would recommend this prof.
The proffessor knows his stuff, but the class can be extremely boring at times. Very easy.
Awesome teacher! He's a very good and interesting lecturer. You shouldn't have to go to lectures to get an A, but I went anyway because they were so interesting. Tests are real easy and so is the final essay.
A wonderful class and a brilliant professor. His knowledge and ability to tell an intresting story related to the topic made this one of my favorite classes of all time. Definitely not a difficult or intimidating course, very intresting and fun, yet you learn a lot.
Nice, but i found him boring. He's very knowledgeable about the subject though. Easy cumulative tests, he "recycles" test questions. THe essay isn't too bad. Easy class overall.
Guy has an obsession with Jay walking (jay leno). He always talks about it. Anyways, at first this class was easy...but then he started putting info on the tests that you would never expect to be on there. Do not reccomend. I got 2 A's, a B+ and a C- on my tests and a A- on my paper and I wound up w
Weird prof. I didn't get his jokes. He likes Freud. You won't sweat too much. Tests build on each other. The essay wasn't bad. Just come to lectures. Don't need to write notes. Nice British accent.
Prof. really knows his stuff...repeats info. over and over so if you don't get it...you're not paying attention! Just go to class and it'll all be good! His enthusiam makes class enjoyable. My favorite class of the semester.
okey he's nice and all but hes got a problem pulling questions on the exam out of his ASS. really you would see half of the questions on the exam he never even talked about. first exam was a free exam, make use of it. he's not at easy as ppl say he is.
Good and easy teacher. Hes funny and always tells stories that are random but entertaining. The tests have some hard questions but still easy cuz he curves. I barely took notes and I pulled off an A. Only idiots will think hes hard. His accent makes lecture enjoyable. Can't wait to have him again
very interesting teacher. his lectures jumped around a bit which made them confusing but other than that it was easy. i never bought the text book and did not get the course pack till the last 3 weeks and i got an A and barely attended lectures. go figure.
Tests are the easiest thing ever, but don't bother with the lectures. You don't learn anything and notes are impossible, he killed a interesting subject to me. I'll take that easy A though.
Excellent knowledge of the classics, very insightful.. not imposing or tough to understand.. lectures but connects with the students. Tests are iffy, the goods are some recycled questions, the bads are some bizarre questions
He talks around the subject then goes off on tangets. He's really difficult to follow and he doesn't tell you what's going to be on the tests. When you ask a question, he'll spend 20 minutes talking around what you asked and never actually answer your question.
He is a little ambiguous on the reading assignments, but gives very enjoyable lectures and the readings for that matter are also entertaining. Class is easy, and yes, his accent is really cool!
Anyone who thinks the class is hard is a moron. I barely ever took notes and i got an A. Most questions on the exams are easy and some are "recycled" from previous tests.
OK, I like the class. Easy. I am interested in the overall subject matter though. He "goes off on tangents" but I find they help me remember the main point. PS: Most Classic Majors are ****s or sex addicts. I'd guess sex addict, heh.
Great storyteller. Makes subject matter seem fresh and relevant. He offers his personal theories on the topics like "Supply and Protection Economics", capitals on columns being stone vs. wood, etc... so he's a creative thinker. This guy is obviously a scholar and can also teach (rare combo). Better than any prof I've had at U of M Ann Arbor.
He is easy. His qusetions on exams are repeated. Attend class everyday or you'll be lost cuz he gives notes, Talks to much and goes way above and beyond the subject. Fairly easy class just dont skip.
The man is a genious, class is very interesting (i had a small class of about 12 ppl) and he recycles questions a lot. He has one final paper and one practice test. His notes are very good, show up and take notes to get an A. You dont even need the books.
He does not try to help students at all for finals he gave everyone a hard time getting back paper.
He is probably the easiest prof. I have had. He tends to go off on tangents, but his tests repeat themselves and are VERY easy, however his final is a bit out of left field, but he curves generously. You are required to write one paper and content matter is all that counts, english and grammar are "thrown out the door". Forgetful, easy-going guy.
His tests are extremely easy but lectures are so boring they're hard to attend. He repeats himself quite frequently and you may find yourself sitting through two of the same lectures.
If you have a problem with an easy A, dont take him. His tests are mult. choice and true/false. By far the easiest class I have had. He likes to repeat a lot of info in his lectures so that kind of makes it difficult to sit through them, but that's a small price to pay for an easy A.
Easy A! Came 30 minutes late to every class, did the report the night before it was due, and still got an A! But, when I was there and awake it was pretty interesting, he's a good professor... I guess
I love this guy, the class was interesting, but what made it for me was that it was so freaking EASY. CAN YOU SAY EASY A. Wow every exam was like the one before. James Rule's.

Best teacher ever. British guy very helpful interesting during class and to talk to after class. It's an "easy A" but if you go to majority his lectures it's even easier. Get this guy!
easy class and teacher, dont really have to goto class, infact half the class started skipping towards the end. actually the guy had to keep giving surprise quizes for attendence to be good. hes an easy preofessor and knows what hes talkin bout, at times u feel like he knows too much good teacher tho
He was awesome!!! Classes full of info, lectures fro memory, sometimes goes off topic but it's always interesting. Easy A, repeats info from last test which he lets you keep. Also, he is british, who doesn't like a smart english fellow?
Lectures usually have nothing to do with the material, but they are interesting anyways. Recycles questions from exam to exam. The guy knows his stuff though, if he does ever get around to talking about it. Easy A!
He was definitely by no means an easy A... Studied for his class a lot but the way his exams are it is near impossible no matter how good your notes are or how much you study. And he is not very helpful either.. what prof can't "remember" to bring a paper?... I wouldn't recommend him to any friend. But he is knowledgable though.
1st and 2nd exams were okay, but the third and the final were the killer. gives too many notes and doesn't tell u what you need to know from them. Doesn't follow the book at all! must come to class ALL the time. Basically, I didn't learn much. waste of money.
this prof was really boring and unwilling to help. He will snap at you if you ask even a simple question!! Didn't learn a thing, waste of my money. And by no means and easy A. I got a B and I had old exams! You also have to write a lengthy paper that is impossible to get an A on and is about 25% of your grade. BORING CLASS, NOT RECOMMENDED!!
I don't understand why everyone is complaining, FARROW IS THE MAN! Don't even bother showing up, memorize a couple of the old exams and you will do fine. Actually, you should go to classes because his syllabus is a complete waste of paper (NO SET EXAM DATES!!) and he might change up the exams. This should be the easiest A you have ever gotten.
He is the most scatter brained professor I have ever had. If you keep all of your quizzes and really study them you really can pass the class, but hope you never ever need any help from him at his office! He is the worst with interpersonal skills and quick to get an attitude.
complete blowoff class! knows Greek myth but he goes off topic a lot. you don't even have to show up to class, just read the assigned chapters and you'll do fine. he gets mad really easily, like when a cell phone goes off or when somebody asks a dumb question, but seeing is reactions are priceless. jokes are very lame. take the class, get an A!
Great professor, be ready to work hard though
Professor Farrow is awesome. His lectures are boring and he does go off topic but his exams are easy because he reuses a lot of questions from one exam to the next. Not difficult at all.
Pretty easy but easier if you have old exams. He reuses alot of his questions from previous tests. He has one paper and so long as you answer you get a good grade. Can be a little boring and he does go off topics sometimes. Overall: A must take if you're looking for an easy class. :)
I had Mr. Farrow in Fall 2006 for Classics, and it was a decent experience. For whatever reason, a lot of his test questions re-appeared. I gained a little interest in Mythology overall from taking this class. If you're lacking a couple of credits as you register, this could be a good filler-in. Decent class.
A real easy class. Even easier if ur able to get old exams. Majority of questions are repeated on every exam. Minimal reading. 1 essay paper n 4 exams.....he's kind of boring but shouldn't be a problem cuz he's an easy A!!
If you want to listen to random stories from a crazy British guy, take this class. He gets off topic easily all his tests are multiple choice.
I kind of hate him. I loved Greek Mythology, until he killed it. Off topic constantly. Boring. Not funny... or, funny MAYBE the first time you hear the story. Has some weird obsession with the Welsh language. Up points? His tests are super easy. You do NOT need his book. But, you might want to borrow someone else's for the Critic's bios.
Strong British accent that's halarious. Most of his notes are useless. Tells stories all the time and has outlandish ideas of underlying meanings. Made Greek Mythology not as interesting as I originally thought. However, an easy grader and the tests are no brainers.
Beware the 25% Essay... you screw that up, and your A is gone.
EASY CLASS. attendance is not mandatory but still make an effort to attend each class. Notes are useless, just study the handouts he gives and know characteristics of mythological characters. Tests are all the same, aside from a few added questions to each test, theyre all really easy though. Pass the essay and your golden.
All multiple choice exams and no homework at all made this class very easy. There is one decent sized paper (9 pages for me) but you get plenty of time to do it. He does seem somewhat grumpy when asked questions after class but still an incredibly easy prof.
An old school professor who is entertaining, who doesn't take the typical BS that students dish out. Overall I found the class engaging, for a GenEd.
Great Professor. If you like Greek Mythology you will love this class. Attendance is not mandatory, but he gives out material that he expects you to know for the tests in class and if you are not there, tough luck! I really lack that because I hate slackers too. easy exams. One essay to write .
Nice guy but a bit old school. He really tries to get people to understand the concept of myths. Easy tests and one paper.
While he was easy, I found him to be very rude
It is evident that Professor Farrow lives for Mythology.. this is his life and his passion. I loved comming to classes.. It was like story time for me :) He is a nice guy who loves to talk about greek mythology, sources, and is very understanding. Take him to get your CS credit out of the way! Come to class and ace his tests!!
This professor knows one thing...mythology. His book is a joke...he's rude, and worthless. Never returned papers and explain his grades. I'm a 4.0 student and got a c- and because he doen't know how to use a computer or know how to talk to people about anything but his useless knowledge...I have no clue why
The class itself wasn't hard but he is not easy to follow. The stuff he tells you to study for each exam is useless. the tests were usually the same things over and over so if you studied something else you were screwed. Still all was well when he conveniently misplaced my paper and I could not contact him which in turn got me an F. Do not take him
He knows Greek Mythology like the back of his hand. Bounce around alot on the notes, have to match them together. aboutley brilliant, with intellgent humor and really seems to love sharing his knowledge with students. How ever, if you are a goof off type student don't take his class. Please
His course is so un-structured I'm not sure why he gives out a syllabus! He knows his mythology very well and is fun to listen to. This man can't manage to make it to class on time to save his life! He will always be 10-15 minutes late.
You should go to the class because he announces test dates and gives handouts that are not available online. Just read everything that he tells you for the test. Some of the questions from exam 1 will be on exam 2 and so forth. Be sure to do good on the final paper.
I attended every class for his mythology section and I still got a B. I am a straight A student. He is impossible to reach because he pretty much doesn't believe in computers. Never got our paper scores back and there were things on the test that aren't even in his book. If you take this class, you must attend all lectures to know what is going on.
He was very scattered he would talk about one thing and then go off on a tangent and then go back and say do you understand now... no we dont!!! the accent did not help either
I really enjoyed professor Farrow's class. If you're into Greek Mythology you'll do fine. 4 exams, 1 paper, and he repeats test questions. I missed several classes and still received an A. He doesn't like dumb questions and he's sarcastic, which some people might not like, but it didn't bother me. I actually thought he was funny. I'd take him again
Sarcastic and somewhat stern, but having a genuine interest in the material, the class was highly enjoyable. Tests, readings and papers were very reasonable. Likely on the dull side if you're not interested in the subject or don't appreciate dry humor, but he was clear and concise regardless.
Has a real enthusiasm for the material, and his lectures cover a lot of detail. The readings he assigns are fair, and not too overbearing. Exam questions often get recycled; if you stay abreast with the material, you'll be alright.
Pay even the slightest attention and you'll be set. I loved his jokes and comparrisons, but I was in the minority. He once did a 20minute breakdown comparing the ancient Greek critics and scholars to the characters of the old sitcom "Dinosaurs!", it was the best 20 minutes of any class. If you love esoteric facts, you'll be in good company.
This guy was a riot. He doesn't stand for incompetence, which is great. His jokes and classroom candor is hilarious. If you go to class, you get an A. It's a lot of memorizing but he give enough examples to help you remember, it's a breeze. Great guy.
You need to come to class to get an A. He is not fond of technology. He does not check his email too often or post notes on blackboard, so if u sign up for this class you better show up. He is hilarious though, his gives 4 exams and repeats most of the questions on each exam. His jokes are awesome. He knows his stuff for sure.
Professor Farrow is very knowledgeable!
I absolutely loved this class. Wasn't really interested in Greek myth until this course, makes me wish I majored in classics. Easy course as long as you show up and pay attention. He really knows his stuff and knows how to teach it. I got A's on every exam with little studying.
Don't think he's easy just because of his high easiness rating. He's confusing and he makes his tests impossible to study for. The textbook is a joke and most of what he goes over is not on the tests. Only students who have prior exams will do well. The essay is also very hard and time consuming. He has an attitude problem. Not recommended.
He really just enjoys the sound of his own voice. Will not respond to email. The only way he gets people to come to class is by not putting test/essay due dates on the syllabus which is RIDICULOUS for people who work and need to schedule time to study. His lectures are more like tangents about everything but myth, confusing. A mess. Don't recommend
Not everything on the test is covered in lecture so readings are required! Great professor but it's not easy. Not very nice/Very sarcastic about wrong answers on tests but doesn't single anyone out.
Expects his students to read all of these texts for no reason. Half of the stuff he lectures on is not on the exam. Some is from the textbook (which he wrote) so assigns almost every chapter. However he is very condescending and makes you feel stupid for getting something wrong. Attendance is not mandatory but if you want to do well you should go
Take a different professor. He's interesting as a speaker, but difficult as a professor. Sometimes he gives you information in his notes that aren't important but then doesn't include the information that is important. Not very organized. Hi
This class required very little effort. Come to every class and you'll easily get an A. He gives 1 practice test (no grade, just so you can see how his tests are), and 4 graded exams, + 1 essay. I wrote my essay from midnight - 3am, about 8 hours before it was due and got an A, without even reading the book my essay was on. Super easy class.
Very knowledgeable professor, makes references to things in real life to make them easier to understand. Read the text book, because he goes over it in class with better detail. His exams really get into nooks and crannies of material covered, so don't miss any classes, and just read and listen.
Professor Farrow is an awesome teacher. His lectures are long, but very informative. His tests are really easy and straightforward questions. The class requires a lot of memorization, but it is super easy.
He is very knowledgeable, but he puts way more information into this class than should be for an intro class and he's EXTREMELY unorganized. So many times I got confused or didn't know what he was talking about. Also, there is no point in emailing him, because it takes him weeks to respond. I would advise you not to take this class.
Very easy exams. Boring, unorganized know-it -all teacher. He wrote his own book so it's very expensive so try to get it cheap online before class starts. Final paper is graded harshly so make sure you do well on the exams so that you can still get an A.
Kind of a rude guy. 4 tests (easy and repetitive) and 1 paper (toughly graded). You need to read the stories he assigns from HIS OWN book but you just really need to understand the biggest points of the stories. Lectures are very boring.
He is not clear on what he wants exactly on his tests and he gets off topic a lot in class that you get confused if what he is saying is important or not. You should be in class all the time although it is not mandatory, bcz he explains the things on the book that are hard to understand. I would recommend an easier professor for this type of class.
Honestly. Just don't take him. I love learning about Greek Mythology but this class is not what you expect it to be. Very boring, unclear on what he wants you to do for reading assignments. You absolutely NEED to read! Just don't take him or this class. terrible.
If you actually have an interest in the subject you will pass. He loves to ramble and go off topic quite a bit! He does not have a sense of time... His exams are really easy, the material on each exam is repetitive! So the exams are very easy! He's study guides are very helpful! Loved him! Try and battle through his rambling! I would recommend!
I really liked him. Just show up to class and do the readings and you'll be fine. Exams are easy and repetitive. Exams and an easy final paper make up his grading criteria but as long as you come to class and put in the work it should be an easy A.
