Recommend his class's to everyone. He care about your opinion and is there to help you successed not fail. He let's you know how your doing and will explain extra anything you don't understand. He let's you know what to study for on the test so there's no surprise's which is GREAT! Wish he has more class's!!!!

Tells you everything you need to know for the test, gives you papers and doesn't tell you exactly what you need to do. Then returns the papers puts some bogus punctuation errors (not very good with grammar) on there and takes 5 points off. He needs to go back to English 101! BUT he is very nice, sometimes I feel bad for him...

Mr. France is approachable and understanding of students time constraints. If you make it to class and spend time studying your notes/referenceing the text you should have no trouble getting an "A" Mr. France makes himself available at a moments notice to help with questions, and always seemed eager to be teaching

Doug is the best professor at JJC! His class is basically just notes, papers, and tests that he gives you all the answers to. He is so understanding and willing to help should you ever need it. Attendance isn't mandatory, but don't skip too many days or your grade will be affected.

SUX he was boring all he ever talked about was him substuting for a kindergarden class and wearing a pink shirt and the kids making fun of him. he gets off topic alot. on the plus side if you want to see some hot girls in the class take his class. cuz most of the girls in the school thinks hes hot. i'm glad i did cuz that where i met my girlfriend

Most fun teacher I ever had! He is so animated and hilarious, even though he can get off track, we still manage to keep up with the schedule. tests are EXTREMELY easy, he pretty much gives you all the answers beforehand. My favorite professor so far. Teaches great and according to what you need to know. Gives you what you need for the tests beforehand and if you don't do well its because you don't pay attention. One paper to do before the end of the semester and only 4 tests during the semester. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HIM

I've been taking classes at JJC for years and no one has ever measured up to Mr. France (I took his psych 101 and 215 classes). His enthusiasm is inspiring and he made the material so easy to understand! His review the class before the test is basically just the test answers, which is awesome. Such a funny guy; I recommend for sure!

Very easy class, and Doug is a really awesome teacher. He makes a lot of jokes and he keeps the class interested. We didn't really use the textbook much. The tests are pretty easy and they are only 30 questions multiple choice. The only complaint I have is that he doesn't post grades online.

I LOVED Doug. His notes are all powerpoints but he tells you what you'll need. DON"T buy the book, it won't be used - all you need are the notes. A LOT of journals and 4 DVD journals. Mr. France made me nervous at first. He gets distracted easily, but he's a great teacher. He's funny and likes to be called by his middle name. There's 4 test which are easy, just study. You can just print the power points. So not too many notes. A couple 2 page papers to write. I enjoyed the journals we were assigned. I highly recommend.

His notes are very little and when it comes time to take each exam he tells you what is going to be on the test so you don't study just a bunch of random things from the notes. He is lenient and is willing to work with you. I'm taking him for psychology, too.

It doesn't get much better than Doug. He will never make you write down more than you need, tests are straight from the "study guide" he's gives (basically tells you what you need to know and you take it from there) and he's just a plain great guy. He will teach you more than just Soc, but about how life truly works. Attendance is big though.

Doug is by far one of the most passionate professors I've had. He really enjoys what he does and teaches from experience. His views are always portrayed in his lectures, but he doesn't try to push them on you. He's very laid back and funny, but tends to get on repetitive tangents at times. Show up and take notes! Hilarious teacher, quirky and entertaining. Really cares about students. Doesn't put too many things in the grade book, no quizzes just tests. All lectures are through powerpoint, which he uploads onto ICampus as well. Doesn't give out study guides but will let you know exactly what's on the tests. Takes attendance seriously. He does cancel class quite often but he makes sure you are prepared for the exams. The study guides are like the questions on the exams so you really want to be there when he gives out the study guides. Also, not a tough grader.

Even though this class isnt very difficult or include a lot of work, you will still learn a lot. The key points are covered at length and the students are put into a position to succeed. really cool guy if you are looking for an easy class in the middle of all your hard ones this is it. tells you exactly what is on the test, no hw, papers every few weeks (easy grader) he would sometimes cancel class and not email just write on the board so I recommend this being your last class of the day so you can just go home

We only had three papers (slight APA format; 3-4 pages). A cover page is not required. His tests are word-by-word from the PowerPoints. I enjoyed the videos we watched in class. His Stress Management Presentation helped reduce my stress (Ex.: Quitting is no longer an option!). Thank-you for making sociology class enjoyable, Professor France!

Professor France is absolutely amazing. Easily the best class I took this semester. There were only four exams total and one discussion post per week. I wish every class was like his because he actually seems like he cares about the workload that students have to deal with.

He was definitely a good professor for my first time going to JJC. Hes super sweet and inspirational and hes an easy grader. He doesnt overload you with work. Since I took this class online, he only had you do one discussion per week and that was it. Of course there were exams but if you read the textbook, you will be fine.

This class is all about stress management. He makes it very easy and majority of the class is group discussions. Very nice and respectful to what you share with the class. This class and him 100% recommend
