Very intelligent just has a little trouble at times getting his point across. Other than that just show up pay attention and you'll be fine. Has a lisp and it can be difficult to pick up some words he says.

Nice guy, very easygoing, and always willing to help. The only downside is he's a little too lenient as far as disciplining the class, although that may well be a plus for some.

Nice guy and very helpful. I only took the class maybe 2 weeks and had to leave but helped me as much as he could. Definately recomment him if you need a good math prof.

Take this class with him, it seems like a lot in the beggining! IT is so0o ez and he is so layed back! i highly recommend!

I LOVE Mr. Fulton! He is a good teacher, and a really nice, easy-going guy. If ur liberal arts major & u still need a math sequence, take both of these with Fulton; they are easy A's.

A great class to take for the future teacher. There are a lot of writing assignments but they are usually part of future tests. So far my favorite professor at SCCC. The man is brilliant!

I enjoyed this class. NOT because the class was intresting or anything.. but the guy is very down to earth. His tests weren't hard and he grades really easy! i recommend him.

very easy going teacher, lets you bring a cheat sheet with formulas etc to all tests, lets you hand in assignments late, class can get boring, but if you need help he's always help you, i HIGHLY recommend this teacher

I would only recommend this class if you have already taken Precalc classes..its hard work. There arent a lot of tests. doesnt check the hw, but u shoudl do it. He has a lisp which can get annoying, and the class is pretty boring and goes slow, but he always helps you...he doesnt take attendance either

I had prof. Fulton in the fall/2005 semester and I thought he was a great guy. He has a sense of humor. If you do the work you'll pass the tests. I found him to be very approachable if i needed to talk to him after class to clarify something.

Great teacher..... thorough and also helpful when you need it. If he needs to spend extra time on something, he will. If you don't get it and he has no problem doing it for you til you do get it. Just take the guy. Definitely worth it.

Best Professor I have ever had. I had taken Calculus over the summer with him. No way you can fail. He shows a genuine interest in his students and teaches in a very clear manner.

The people who give this prof. a poor rating are apparently poor students. He clearly loves math, and knows his material; he is a very smart man. He is helpful, will go over any homework question you had trouble with. He uses a lot of diagrams and drawings which are a great help. Do the homework, and go to class. I will be taking him again.

He is Very hard...He is too smart even for himself! He does help when you need it, but he teaches veryyy fast and does some of the work in his head(which could get confusing) like I said very nice guy but too smart!

Good Professor. Sometimes he went a little fast through material, but was overall very clear with his lecture. He will always go back to explain something if you ask. HW and attendance is up to you and how well you want to do in the class. He drops the lowest test score and as long as you put in the effort you should do well in the class.

The best professor I have ever had for Math. He really cares about his students and teaches in a wonderful way. But, he.is.a.genius. He will go out of his way to help you, and makes you love math even if you hate it.. especially if you hate it. I would be a math major if I could take him for every class until I graduate. Make sure you take him!!!!!

Awesome teacher! He gives you the outline of the tests before you even take it so if you review you'll definitely be prepared. he also uses your lowest grade to help your overall average instead of dropping it. his essays are very simple and really help your grade. he wrote the textbook himself so its very affordable. highly recommend!

Had him for MAT 101 and 102. Very intelligent man, easily the smartest professor ive had. Former research scientist for NASA and General Electric. He cares about his students and always offers extra help. One good thing about him was that he gave fairly easy papers, so if you're like me and not good at math, the papers will help boost your grade

James is a WONDERFUL teacher, he wrote his own textbook and it's cheap! It has everything you need to know in it! He's extremely helpful, clear, and is willing to go over material over and over until you understand it. He's clearly a genius and is extremely respectable. Generally laid back, his work is easy if you understand it. A+ teacher! :D

Professor Fultons class was enjoyable. I am not good when it comes to math, but he made it very easy to understand and was very helpful when it came to answering questions. His class ivery layed out as far as itinerary and anything that is on his class website is all there is. He goes over in depth all his tests before they are given. great guy

Good teacher and one of two at suffolk that I would recommend for any Math class - Iodan Michev is the other. They both know how to break complex topics down to the lowest level. It's college so study!

Professor Fulton is the best! I am currently taking a summer course with him and I have learned so much. He gives the definition, explains how to do the problems, then has you do a few on your own, and then he goes over them until everyone understands it. He is the best math teacher I have ever had.

Easy to understand. My only complaint is that his tests are harder than the way he teaches. He is clear but makes mistakes often. He foes out of his way to make sure the students understand what he is teaching.

he helps you sooooo much .... his tests are hard but if you do ur hw you will be fine. he gives 10 extra points. 4 tests 1 final . he drops lowest test .

Ive had him for mat 101 and 102, its an easy class. 60 percent is based off test grades (one dropped and added on as bonus points) and 40 percent is the projects. Just do the work and you will be fine.

This man made me love mathematics, because of him I research mathematic theory and do complex algebra in my spare time. I was once a D- math student until i met Dr. Fulton. if you try he will work with you in grading. Be prepared to have your mind blown once in a while

very good teacher ! he is extremely smart and wants you to learn to think critically, not your traditional math class for sure but if your good at essays i would absolutely recommend! his tests are whats on the review sheet which he goes over the class before. Would deff take him again! his teaching ways are amazing also.

He is very easy. Will pass if you do correct essays and you can get an easy A. He also drops the lowest test score and changes the lowest test score into bonus points. Will always make sure you pass.

Awesome professor. Dropped our 2 lowest test grades which is amazing for someone who really struggles in algebra. Also his textbook is a must, he wrote it himself and it is far better than the normal 007 book you get from the college. Also has videos of lessons online which helped greatly! A very nice guy and worth taking his class if you struggle!

he makes it very easy to pass! gives you many chances and drops alot of the lowest test grades. gives homework about every class but doesnt check it , just goes over whichever problems students needed help with. cool dude every day hes in a good mood and gets to know everyones names . i would def reccomend him , his class isnt hard either

Fulton's a great, easy going professor. He has a few easy essays throughout the semester, and his homework is optional. His tests aren't too bad. You can fail all the tests but still pass the course with a C if you write decent essays. The man's a genius and is fascinating to watch teach.

The negative reviews on Professor Fulton are one's I don't understand. Do your homework, listen, & write your notes,you WILL pass and excel. He is caring, considerate, & very approachable in class & after class if you need ANY help. He wants to see everyone succeed. 350 characters is not enough to describe how amazing he is, I will miss him

Super chill guy, writes his own textbooks and they're only $25. Doesn't check homework (but you should still do it anyways!) & isn't strict when it comes to lateness or absences. Has a great approach to math that makes the subject a lot more fun than other professors.

He doesnt care about attendance which is great, his tests are easy and offers make up tests. Will push tests back if we arent ready, gives a lot of hw but checks it only about 2 times a month

I would take another class with this professor. He helps us all during class time and using white boards to practice problems.

Very passionate about math, and has very clear lectures. The textbook was only $25 since he wrote it himself, and its a little weirdly worded, but all the info you need is clear. A couple of easy projects, easy tests, drops your lowest test. Only criticism is that one of the projects was hard due to some very old programs needed for it.

Classes were super boring, but it's a math class. He teaches material very clearly and effectively. Attendance wasn't really that strict but if you dont show up, then you're only hurting your own grade by missing important lectures. Dont fall behind and you'll be alright

Dr. Fulton is my favorite mathematics professor I have had at Suffolk. He goes fast during lectures, but he explains all concepts very clearly and prepares extremely well for each test. In MAT 210 there is extra time he has after class to go over hw problems and that is where he goes slower. Very entertaining when he makes mistakes in examples.

Professor Fulton, is by far my #1 math teacher. He goes through the power points slowly to make sure you understand the material. Homework is fairly easy if you went to class that day. Allows make ups for every quiz except for the final. Allows calculators on quizzes and final. He is the only professor I now want to take for each math course.

Professor Fulton is a great professor. He is very good at explaining things. He does usually use the full lecture but describes everything in great detail. When it comes to taking tests little study time is needed and the option of a test retake is offered. He means well and is also helpful when it comes to picking a class for next semester.

Dr fulton is great for people that suck at math and need thorough explanations of the problem ... he wants everyone to pass and understands that not everyone is good at math . He will explain it until you understand and also drops lowest test grade even if it ends up to be the final test . For anyone who struggles in math he is a great choice

Prof. Fulton is great! I find math extremely difficult and he made everything really easy to comprehend. He even wrote his own textbook! (which is amazing btw). The only thing: hes kinda boring. That and be prepared To write. Theres four papers which are really easy but still, writing in math sucks. I definitely recommend him though (for MAT101)

Professor Fulton is by far my favorite math professor at this school. He really makes it easy to pass this class, and even lets you retake the first few tests. However, you should still always put in the effort and do the homeworks because it can help your grade! He is really great and I 100% recommend his class. You wont regret it!!

prof Fulton is a good professor, he's very neutral but I wouldn't say he doesn't care about you. He wants you to pass this course and move on. He's really helpful and if you don't understand anything you just have to ask him to explain it and he will willingly do so. I would recommend him if you have trouble with math.

He's your average professor. He doesnt grade hw so you have to do good on tests. You use Respondus. theres 4 tests and the final. He isnt a bad prof he will help you if you need it. Just do your work and study youll be fine. lectures are like this: Go over hw then learn a new lesson.

I did not finish this class due to an injury I had but I would have loved to finish the semester out with this professor. He had his students buy his textbook which he sold for a very cheap price at the bookstore. He taught in a terrific manner that demonstrated his knowledge. He was able to show those that are not math savvy another way to learn.

Professor is very friendly one main thing is he explains every topic very clearly and he explains things really good. Also tests are really easy

Dr. Fulton is a stand-up guy. He has a supplemental book for the course. He's a little soft-spoken, try to stay awake. He is willing to explain things and not make you feel dumb. A lot of homework, he doesn't collect it just goes over it. Stay on top of the homework and studying and you'll do fine

I'm surprised by how harsh some of these reviews are. You can tell whose never taken math courses before. Fulton is a fine professor. I find he's very good at explaining difficult concepts than some others are. Don't be afraid to ask him questions and clarify. I only give a point off because he goes very quickly, but he's always offering extra help

This man is incredibly smart. He knows how to teach; he answers questions with respect and genuine care. He offers extra help and extra credit as well. He does his job extremely well and is passionate about it too. It was honestly a pleasure to have him, and Suffolk is lucky to have him as a professor. The class is fast-paced, but it is high-level.

Dr. Fulton is a professor who knows his subject well and uses many examples during the lectures to explain the concept, which is better than a prof who reads off of a slideshow and skips the examples. The class has four tests and a final, the lowest test is dropped and the second lowest test can be replaced with the final. HW is voluntary.

Really good teacher, but you have to show up and do homework if you want to do good, I didn't do homework cause it wasn't mandatory and I regret it. 5 exams counting the final. Lowest grade gets dropped and second lowest grade changes to your final grade if it's higher. He's very open to questions. Good teacher overall. This is talking about calc 2

James Fulton was a good teacher. must I say LOTS of long and confusing notes, and many lectures, his tests are pretty difficult. definetly study. he moves very fast and quick so try to keep up. but overall great guy and good teacher
