So sweet and nice really loves what he teaches really easy class if you pay attention and do the assignments

Easy A, just do the hw.I think he gave a perfect score just for turning it in.Quick to answer e-mails.Keeps grades pretty current.Really no lectures,just read chapter & do hw.Very easy & simple.

I took three classes with him: CS80 & CS81, and CS85. He knows his staff, always answers your emails; has a great web site with a lot of reference material. The classes are OK. He always finds a new material and ideas.

Interesting subject, boring teacher. His method of teaching is not very good. I lost all interest in PHP after taking his class. Half the class dropped after 3 weeks.

He is a very good teacher, very helpful and patient. Always brings some information about new technologies to the class. Gives opportunity to everybody participate in the class with comments and questions.

Professor Geddes was very responsive to my questions - always answered them on the same day they were asked. He made taking an online class really a great experience. Very thorough and helpful. Gave me advice on future classes, too.

I learn a lot from his class and the knowledge I gain from his lectures help me a lot in my work.

I just want to say that Mr. Geddes is the best! He is very, very smart and knows a lot about computers. He also makes the class very interesting and fun. He is very helpfull and is always willing to go the extra mile for his students. And he is such a nice teacher. He is simply the best.

Prof. Geddes is helpful and his lectures are clear, therefore he will be getting a good rating from me. Unfortunately, this site doesn't allow you to give an overall rating. In this area Prof. Geddes would not do well. He teaches straight from the book which is very boring, and he has not proven to me that he is a master of PHP or JavaScript.

Totally laid back and chill. He has a great personality. Has great character and cares about his students. Very brilliant, and knows his subject. Has a lot of experience with computers. I recommend him definetly. Makes class most interesting!

Professor Geddes is awesome. He is very helpful, tests are take home and not hard. You do have to have a tiny imagination to answer stuff sometimes, but nothing much. He understands we have a life and sets up assignments that are not too time consuming. Excellent at teaching programming (PHP, MYSQL, etc.) in a way that seems easy. Highly recommend!

Professor Geddes is a great instructor who teaches his class with such clarity. The classes I've taken with him have been online and I have always been able to learn by his methods. Responds to questions very quickly.

Very nice teacher. Although I am a CSE major, this is probably the easiest class I have EVER taken. all the questions on the test are on his website. Uses discretion and lots of extra credit. I had at least a 100 at the end of the semester.

Excellent instructor, patient and understanding. I have not had an instructor before who is as understanding as he is. He understands the subject very well and knows how to make students master the material. He explains so well that one can easily get a 100% on every tests. He has the best teaching style. I highly recommend him to every student.

An A+ instructor. Even if you are not a computer buff, Professor Geddes makes an effective effort to make this class fun and understandable for everyone. His lectures, in-class activities, and homework are all real-world related and interesting. Rest assured, there are a lot of students who have taken a new liking to computers because of him.

I learned a lot in this class. The professor is very helpful, he's always available, even do the class is online( which made it better for my schedule). The method of teaching is very effective. Im very satisfy with the class and the professor.

This Survey of Internet Technologies class is offered online and is very well-structured. Prof. Geddes is attentive to detail and cares about his students! There is quite a lot of work, but everyone can get a good grade if they put in the effort. The material is very useful and offers just the right amount of detail.

Prof. Geddes is a great (online) teacher. You will learn a lot! All assignments are clearly given on his website, and he is always helpful and patient on the discussion board. All quizzes/tests are take-home, open book, with at least 4 days to complete each. He grades very generously, easy to get an A if you are willing to try. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Easy A, because he's thorough and makes sure everyone is well informed. He grades on a curve so if no one understood the content then no ones suffers. He's very lenient and helpful. Would recommend him for the strong and weak students alike. I got a lot from this course. Oh and this CLASS can get boring.

Take him. He's awesome, he's available, he gives you your book list a month in advance. If you know nothing he's awesome, if you know everything already he's even better. He's fair, always willing to help, and most of all he goes the extra mile to explain things. I will definitely take any other classes by him I can!

This was the Javascript class online. My 2nd class with this prof. -- he has his online teaching methods down to a science. In an online class, you need to be able to learn independently, but this prof. also provides supplementary materials that he writes or gathers himself. He communicates frequently and thoroughly, so you are never stuck.

Great class! Great professor. I took both CS80 and CS85 from him, and I would love to take more classes. He is very helpful, very fair, and makes the class extremely interesting. I learned a lot and it was fun! These are the only classes I've taken that I can say I'm sad when they end.

Curriculum was challenging without being overwhelming. Lots of hands-on work, great experience. Text was appropriate and very readable. Only suggestion is to schedule db upload assignment a little earlier to iron out issues, maybe before XML assignment. Professor Geddes is helpful, positive, and an excellent instructor.

I also like the fact that he provided the scan copy of the first 3 chapter of the book while most of us waited for our book to arrive so that we weren't left behind. Higly recommends. A+++

Prof. Geddes is a pleasure to work with. He's been nice throught the class and very helpful in learning JavaScript. I recommend everybody who's interested in learning JavaScript.

What a wonderful experience with his classes. I had him twice for online courses. As long as you are the type who would push yourself, his teaching style can really help you to learn and explore with a lot of interest. He's laid back but structured and clear on instructions. He is extremely understanding too.

Great teacher and great personal website resources. The textbook was unclear and cumbersome to use. It appeared outdated as well and did not really present the power of JavaScript in relation to AJAX and all the Web 2.0.

Great teacher, took two online classes: javascript and PHP. Both text books were under $30(one was $15 E-book), they were VERY good books though. He chose a couplechallenging but not impossible excerices for homework and none of the mindless repetitive ones. also had his own homepage for each course on top of the schools with additional resources

This class is great for those who are self starters and are willing to put in the time to take in the material. Professor Geddes is there if one needs directions and is very prompt to respond. I give the class an A.

Great Professor. He's very nice, very easy, and loves to help his students. He actually cares. Homeworks are very simple, doesnt consume time at all, i have anothe rclass along with this class and sometimes i even forget about this class its so easy.. Tests have study guides wit all answers, TAKE HIM!

I took him for cs3 and cs50. Great teacher, he explains stuff very well for the most part and he's willing to go over stuff you didnt understand. For the most part, you can actually miss class and still pass with a decent grade as long as you email him ahead of time that you're gonna miss.

took him over winter i am not a cs major and found him to be very strait forward bout what he wants his test review was him just going over the things he was going to put on the test, test was open internet book notes excpet strait up asking somone to do it for u. so even if you had no idea how to do somthin u just look it up. I took CS 85 as a distance learning class. I thought the class was a great intro to PHP. Professor Geddes was extremely responsive to questions about the class in discussion threads and was very accessible over email. I would definitely recommend both this class as well as Professor Geddes

Make sure follow his schedule, you will be alright. There are tricky questions on the tests, some aren't in the book. You will have to google up yourself to find the answer.

This is an online class. The professor was very responsive, and eager to help. There is a fair amount of work in the class, but the assignments are useful and educational. I would gladly take another class from this prof.

Excellent professor. Very helpful with your questions. This class was very rewarding and I also learned a hell of alot. I highly recommend this class. If you plan on taking this class on the summer or winter be ready for a lot of work. Lab assignments are due every 3 days. the good thing is that he will help you if you have questions.

Great class. I learned a lot and would like to continue learning more. The pace fas very fast since it was done in summer (half the regular time in a quarter). Lab assignments due every twice a week so could not afford to fall behind.

Professor Geddes is an adorable and wonderful teacher and I enjoy his class! He has a webpage for the course so you know all the upcoming assignments and can do them early if you wish. It also has important announcements and lots of helpful tips and everything - it's a very organized and useful website. I would definitely take him again and again.

Very disorganized in teaching! he is very confusing especially if you're new to computer subjects. I didn't learn anything in his class and thank god i have plenty of computer experience. Take him if u want an easy A and boost ur GPA. If ur gonna take more serious CS classes i recommend you choose someone else!!

Professor Geddes is a really good teacher. He is always willing to help you if you need it. His teaching methods are straight forward and can have a nice sense of humor. I took his online class and it was not too difficult. The book helped a lot and it was mandatory to have. I learned a lot taking his classes; recommended teacher in/out of class!

Online Class so you need to read the book and learn on your own. As in all computer classes, you get out of it what you are willing to put into it. The professor answers questions in a timely manner (both day and night). He was nice enough to make the assignments due after the weekend for working people. He posted many references. Easy Grader.

I would admit Professor Geddes has given me my first great online experience. Not only I have learned PHP but also learned how to read textbook properly to save me time from experimenting. As english is my second language, i jump on sentences which I thought was not really important but realized it was.

This class (as well as CS 81) both online were extremely easy. Professor Geddes was a good professor, very helpful. However his tests seemed to be more of a test on how to google the answers. Also, he had you grade your own tests, made it seem as if he didn't want to do the work....

Extremely easy for Computer Science majors. I passed with 95% (missed on work intentionally). Professor is kinda late on replying email. Recommended professor. Organized material. Exams are pretty for you to grade. I graded the exam and got the score I thought I would get. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR

Great professor, hard to drop grades to the low 90's. Assignments are 40 points, week late max = 30, tests =100, final project = 200. One of the best classes you might ever encounter. Ken has a great assignment schedule, I kept an average of 95% through out the whole semester easily even after turning half the assignments a few days late. Thank You

An ideal online CS experience. I'm an informed user with no previous programming skills, so the class just introduced me to a new world. Geddes is most highly recommended.

The teacher was great. I have never taken an online course before and was worried, at first. Instead, I found I got my best studying in from 10PM to 1AM. Any questions I had, I could email the teacher and get a response back right away. His answers were always clear, insightful, and with a dash of humor.

Online section. Assignments and tests were pretty basic, but let you add as much (i.e. show how much more you learned) as you wanted. Plenty of time to do homework and tests. Professor Geddes was very quick in responding to eQuestions.

Very structured. Syllabus was followed exactly as listed.

I just finish taking CS 80 and CS 81 online with this professor. He is very nice and will cut some slack if you have problems during the semester. He understands people work and have a personal life. The material is pretty straight forward. In order to get an A you have to do all the homework. Stay on top and you will get an A. He is very helpful.

I just had CS80 with Geddes, and can safely say that he is a good professor. He is helpful towards his students and cares about the subject. As long as you keep up with the class work, and ask questions you will do fine.

Professor Geddes runs great programming classes. You end up learning a lot about the language at the end. You may not end up an expert (but, after one semester, who could), but it's a great foundation moving forward. The key to doing well is getting organized and staying on top of your due dates.

Gives you every opportunity to get a perfect score. Very helpful with clarifications if you need them. You have several days to complete the tests, plenty of time.

The way Professor Geddes sets the tone in his online session from the beginning is remarkable. The overall effect becomes student’s win-win attitude therefore a big boost of enthusiasm and energy to accomplish the objectives of the course.

PHP/MySQL has got to be SMC's most useful & most important programming course SMC has to offer! Prof Geddes is great to have had! PHP is challenging to learn, but if you stick it out, & if you did well in other programming courses, then you will want to take this one before you graduate!

Awesome professor. I took cs 80, 81, and 85 online with him. The professor is always available through email to help. What I learned in this class sequence is actually a big part of how I make my income now. I can not recommend this professor highly enough. If you don't work your way up to taking cs 85 your are just cheating yourself.

I took him once before and withdrew and complained about him, but after retaking him I realized it was my fault I was doing poorly. I got literally a 100% in his class just by putting forth effort. The assignments and tests are simple and clear with answers straight out of the book. Excellent professor, helps you understand the material, easy A.

This was a great class with a ton of variety and so many online resources and tutorials. Additionally, the class discussions pointed out great additional resources and asked good questions. The teacher was available and helpful and made the material fun to learn. I look forward to more classes like this one!

Awesome teacher. Took him for CS80, 81, 85. All online but took two weeks of CS86 so got to meet him. Very easy-going, nice guy. Lectures are clear, chooses good textbooks, easy A if you do the work. He also helped me get my web programmer's certification by signing off on a course sub form for me because I was unable to take CS86 due to illness.

The subjects covered in this class is practical and in industry I use it . Also, I took this class for credit as well . Professor is very good . Lecture are clear and he respond so fast .

Really well structured class. He's very clear about what he needs from you. The textbook is mandatory at first but W3 is sufficient later on in the course. Great overview and looking forward to take his next class in the summer. Helpful too. If you say you don't understand something he'll explain very clearly and quickly through email.

Make sure you read the chapters and pay close attention the lectures. If you don't understanding you can always ask him. There is a project due.

Okay, his classes are honestly a joke, there's nothing he teaches that you can't learn in 5 minutes on codecademy. As long as you turn something in, you get full credit on the homework, even if you skip 90% of the problems, and his tests are all open book, open note and open internet. Easy A. He talks alot it's painful to listen to him sometimes

I love professor Geddes. I took him for CS 80 online, and I had to absolutely take him again. I love the way he teaches. It's so easy to understand. I recommend reading the book, helped a ton!

I took Professor Geddes' CS80 Internet Programming Online class and had a wonderful experience. His classes are very well structured and the assignments related to materials in the reading/lectures. The professor responds quickly to questions and answers in a way easy for students to understand.

javaScript is more powerful than I thought, and this course builds experience in the fundamental tools and terminology of a vastly versatile programming language. All of the course materials, resources, syllabus, schedule, etc. are easy to access , straightforward schedule, clear expectations, must do homework to do well.

Very organized and helpful professor. I took three online courses with him and latest was a JavaScript programming. You'll get a good grade and learn the subject matter if you do the weekly HW's . The tests are open book and they are not timed. Final project is due at the end of the semester.

I enjoyed Professor Geddes' class. He answers questions quickly to make sure you understand the concepts. The class itself is not very difficult, but the more you put in and learn it, the more you get out of it. The textbook he chose is especially helpful, so make sure to get it. Hard to tell by doing a course online, naturally, but the course was well-organized. Good use was made of online resources and instructions and assignments were clear. I have had bad professors that didn't know how to use the online system and it made the class so much more difficult.

I learned a lot from this web programming class and this class is very useful. I also enjoyed the class because of the material. We created our own website for the final project which was really fun.

Professor Geddes gives great feedback and actually engages in discussion with students in the online version of this class. Often, online classes feel like you are given material and told to teach yourself. Professor Geddes was always quick to respond to discussion posts and provide help to the students.

Easy class. The actual coding can be difficult but if you send him a screenshot he'll walk you through how to fix your problem.

I have taken so, so many online classes. Like a LOT. This was one of my favorites. My old CIS instructors took, like 8 days to respond to my e-mails, which sucked in an online class that builds on the lessons from the week prior. Geddes is prompt in reponse and makes what can a times be a boring and complicated subject matter fun and interesting.

Professor Geddes is great, the whole class is outline from the very beginning, you know when to read the chapters, when homework is due and when to prepare for a quiz. If you stay up to date with the weekly readings you should have no problem completing the weekly assignments and getting a satisfactory grade in the quizzes and the class as a whole.

I took his online web development class to improve my product mgmt skills and have had difficulty with online courses in the past. The textbook, instructions and assignments for this course were very clear and grading was fair. If you put the time in you will learn so much through this course I have already recommended it to many of my friends.
