Graham is the nicest professor I have ever had, he's super approachable. allows a page of notes on exams which was awesome. moves deadlines back if class asks. Graham rules.

Excellent prof, especially for psyc 302. If you have him as a choice, don't even hesitate. Makes stats enjoyable and keeps the class awake.

He made a class I was not looking forward to taking at all really interesting. His examples are great, and he will make sure you are well prepared for the tests...he really wants his students to do well. I would highly recommend him!

He's an intelligent, witty guy who does his best to make a boring class fun. The first test is pretty easy, mostly review of 301. The second test is tougher and the third test falls somewhere between the first and second on difficulty. You get a page of notes for tests/quizzes and he's easy on the eyes :)

Awesome professor, funny, passionate about what he teaches, and very concered about study comprehension and about his students in general. If you have the choice of taking a class from him, definately do it. Exams were multiple choice with a lot of questions, but that made it easier because each question was worth less. This was my favorite class!

Graham knows statistics, and he is very passionate. He uses his 302 class to advocate for a sane and realistic view of psych stats. He's very helpful, clear, and entertaining. All around great professor.

Graham is one of my favorite professors. I wasn't really looking forward to 302 especially at 8:30 am but it was one of my favorite classes because of him. I can't imagine a better person to learn stats from. He's funny and engaging and passionate about it. Tests aren't too bad and he allows a page of notes.

I haven't had much background in stats at all. This class was great because of Dr. Graham. He is so passionate about the subject and will help you in multiple ways. The first test I got a 72 and was sad but after getting help I ended up with a B+ in the class. TAKE THIS CLASS :D

Doctor Graham is hot, hilarious and most importantly an amazing teacher. He taught me things about statistics I never wanted to learn, and I actually enjoyed it. . . If you get the chance to take a class with him, especially stats, do it! He cares a lot about the quality of his teaching which really helps, too.

He makes stats interesting and he really cares about your understanding. Ask questions in class and during office hours. Exams are hard but if you truly understand the material you will do well. STUDY for tests and not just the night before. Excellent professor!

Don't take any other professor for 302 than James Graham. Nobody is as clear as he is when it comes to statistics! If he taught 303, I would have easily taken it with him. Seriously, if you can, wait to take 302 with Graham during winter quarter, or if you want to test him out first, take 116 with him (I also took that class). Amazing professor!

Psy 116 Human Sexuality with him was very interesting and informative. Graham is an awesome professor, and makes you want to go to class! The tests are exactly like the study guides he posts on canvas. Very fair, and an easy A if you study for the tests. Would recommend! My only worry is the textbook. It was very expensive and not necessary.

Love, love, love Graham. He made stats comprehensible and enjoyable and his relationships class was incredible. He's always available for extra help on classwork and is so interesting to talk with. If I could take more classes with him, I would do it in a heartbeat. He's easily my favorite professor at Western.

Taking this class was the best choice of my life. His lectures are spot on every time. He is clear what is on the tests, the study guides help and there wasn't one class time I didn't laugh. I want to minormajor in psych just to take more of his classes. Also he is approachable and very open to questions. This is a must take class.

Interesting class, super easy. I went to nearly every lecture, but attendance isn't mandatory since he posts all lecturesstudy guides on Canvas. He's attractive and witty which makes the 2 hour lectures fly by. 3 tests (excluding the final) non-cumulative, all multiple choice and simple if you study. Take this class if you want a fun GUR!

Graham gives amazing and engaging lectures. The topic was interesting to begin with but as long as you are at lectures there is no way that you can't get an A or B in the class. Only 3 tests and 1 final. I haven't opened my book once just because his lectures answer everything. Shows hilarious yet extremely helpful videos often in lectures. LOVED.

Professor Graham is really engaging and hilarious. I loved his class even though it was really long. Great class to have my first year at Western, because there is not a great amount of work. The class consists of mostly tests which are multiple choice, and one research credit, and lastly the final.

Probly the best class that I've taken so far. Basically a sex ed class, wouldnt really consider it psychology. His lectures are very helpful and structured nicely. He posts ALL of em ahead of time on including the chapters that we haven't even discussed yet. His study guides are very helpful. Attendance isn't very necessary. He's a funny guy.

One of the best professors here at Western! He's hilarious and makes the 2 and a half hour class go by quickly and makes all of the information really interesting. He posts all slides on canvas, so class isn't mandatory and grading is based solely on tests. Would definitely take a class from him again.

Loved every second of Graham's class. His lectures are very straight forward. All exams have what the study guides say they'll have. It was very easy for me to be engaged, although the class was very long. He posts the lectures online, but it really helps to go to class because he's very helpful with further explanations. Graham made the psych stats experience so much easier. He gives clear detailed lectures and has a great sense of humor. He recaps at the beginning of each class what we previously went over, which is nice cause stats requires repetition before you're comfortable. Always there for help, and posts his slides for exam review. Very soft spoken and nice

Great guy. Has plenty of stories. The class was okay; not really my thing. I liked him better for 302. There were 3 tests worth 90% of the grade so if you're not a good test taker, beware. He did have short papers every week, too. Perfect class if you're going into marriage/family counseling.

Dr. Graham is one of the best professors I've had at WWU. While this class is just okay, he is truly passionate about what he teaches. This particular class was super interesting, but since it is only taught over the summer, it feels super rushed and got pretty dry towards the end. Dr. Graham is still an amazing professor and he is hilarious.

Jim is so excited about the subject he teaches and it makes you interested as well. His dry sense of humor helps you feel comfortable with sensitive topics, but he respects every identity and opinion. He tried very hard to make his lectures gender neutral and fails, but always corrects himself. I couldn't have taken this class with anyone else

I took 376 with Graham and he was amazing so I made an effort to take 302 with him, too. Best decision ever! He is always willing to spend as much time as is necessary for everyone in the class to understand something. Don't ask me how, but he actually made a correlational statistics class somewhat fun. He's an amazing teacher. He makes his class very interesting. Your grade is pretty much only based on 4 exams, but they are multiple choice and not too hard if you look at his slides and study (he posts study guides). I would definitely take a class with Graham again. Also this class is very informative.

This was my first college class so I dont have much to compare it to, but Jims class is amazing. super important subject and he always makes things fun to learn. Hes super respectful of how different people are. You dont have to go to class because all lectures are online but he makes you want to go. Tests are easy if you take notes & study

James (Jim) Graham was an amazing professor. His lectures were engaging and entertaining. The classes were not mandatory. He actually recorded all of his lectures and posted them to canvas. He is an all around good guy.

If I could take every single class for the rest of my college career with Dr. Graham, I would. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and respectful during all of his lectures. He records all of his lectures, which came in handy when I was sick. Even though it was an option to skip, I never wanted to because he made class so fun/interesting.

Jim reminds you of your cool uncle you hang out with as a kid. The nature of the material he teaches is very taboo and uncomfortable but Jim shatters through the stigmas and discomfort in a very mature manner. I think he tries a bit too hard to be PC, but given that he teaches sexuality at WWU I don't necessarily blame him for it. Great guy.

Grades are determined solely by tests, so be prepared to take good notes and study well. He is easily one of the best lecturers ever. He is engaging, respectful, tactful, and informative. Provides you with a lot of helpful information without overwhelming you. Don't need to attend class b/c all lectures online, but it's respectful if you do attend.

Took Jim's PSY116 class as a GUR and it ended up being one of my favorite classes. He's very knowledgeable about the subject and answers all of your questions. Although your grade is mostly based on the tests, he makes it known what will be on each quiz and they are very easy to do well on if you take good notes in class.

Professor Graham definitely made a sensitive topic less dreadful and more fun to learn. He gave information unbiasedly for the most part but you could tell once he felt passionate about a certain subject. You don't have to go but as everyone else says, he makes you want to go and learn. Tests are hard but I blame that on myself not studying proper

I took Prof. Graham's human sexuality class this last quarter and it was eye opening. Everyone should learn the material this course goes over. A lot of the material is sensitive and can be triggering to people but Graham does the best job in lecturing clearly and correct and making sure he prepared the material as not to be offensive in anyway.

Probably one of the best professors I've ever had at WWU, if not the best. He is very knowledgable about the topic and extremely hilarious. Study for the tests & final and you will be fine. It also helps if you enjoy the subject. He posts his lectures online with audio recordings. The only thing I don't like is that he doesn't teach more classes!

Honestly, Jim Graham has to be one of my favorite professors ever. I had to take his class online due to COVID and he could not be more supportive and accommodating. He did prerecorded videos but also had the option of meeting on zoom weekly. 3 exams (non-commulative) and some extra assignments. I wish I could have taken his class in person!

(This was during COVID-19) Jim is fantastic, super caring and sweet to his students, and genuinely wants us all to succeed. 302 is already a kind of hard class with dry material but he does a pretty good job of making it interesting and accessible even if you aren't super comfortable with a bunch of math-heavy statistics.

I could not have asked for a more understanding, compassionate, caring professor. He is VERY good at teaching and making sure we understood! He made 302 very manageable! This man deserves a raise!! Dr. Graham will be my favorite professor I've taken from for my entire life. His human sexualities class is so comprehensive and he makes 'awkward' topics talkable so effortlessly. He is truly an amazing human being. I didn't read, just attended lectures and got A's on the 3 exams. No assignments other than the main exams. 11/10 a must take class

had him fall quarter 2020, super easy since its online and no zoom! theres 3 exams plus the final but you can drop your lowest score, and theres 3 short papers you have to write basically summarizing the unit before the exam! they say you need a textbook but i never got one since the lecture slides are basically the same

I've had Dr. Graham for two classes now, and he is a breath of fresh air. His lectures are actually interesting to listen to, and are prerecorded (with classes being online right now). Grade consists of exams mainly and a few papers, but exams are based off of lecture and papers aren't difficult.

Jim was a wonderful professor! I had him my first quarter at WWU which happened to be all online due to covid, and he was so organized with his lectures and assigned readings. Truly a sweet man. Would highly highly recommended taking one of his classes. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students and what he is teaching.

Jim is such a great professor and I don't think there is a more accommodating prof at Western. Prof Graham updates his course content despite it being online- where he could easily recycle videos from quarters prior. He cares so much about the subject and you can see it through the care he puts into the course and his students.

(covid/online) Jim is an amazing professor! He wrote a response for every paper and you just can tell he cares so much for his students. Homework was simple - just a short "reaction" paper to the lectures, and exams were easy and straight-forward. I'd recommend this class if you need the credit. I can only assume his class is even better in person!

I took PSY116 and I would highly recommend it to others. An easy A class, just watch the lectures and pay attention and you'll do fine. There were weekly short response papers graded on effort/completion and three exams that had pretty easy questions relating to the lectures. Besides that, the information provided was genuinely useful to know.

Jim is a super nice professor and seems like a actually genuine guy. His class is mainly taking lecture notes and readings. For work there is a reaction paper for a subject you learned in his class and then a exam following. I would definitely recommend this professor. Actually cares about his students too.

Jim was a great teacher especially in these pandemic times. He offers recorded lectures as well as the ones in person so it's not the end of the world if you miss class. He actively makes sure he's using correct terminology and being aware of his students as he is teaching a class that tackles more sensitive topics relating to sex and gender.

P116 is an easy A course, and Jim is a great professor. He's kind, clearly passionate, funny and engaging. Even with in-person courses he records lectures and lets students choose their level of comfort with attending. P116 wasn't as interesting as I'd hoped, but it was entertaining and an easy A, and I'd love to take a higher level course with Jim

This class is pretty easy, and the textbook is not really necessary. Jim is a very respectful professor and always takes his time answering questions. He is very good at lecturing about sensitive topics and gives adequate warnings when they come up. I enjoyed this class and highly recommended it.

This was a fascinating class, it was very informative and not super difficult to understand. Graham is the most caring prof I have met, he truly cares about all students and answers all your questions. The class was fun, theres four exams (3 are for credit) and a few reaction papers. Highly recommend!

Good Ole' Jimothy was wonderful. He made assignments very clear and straight forward. He gave good feedback on the assignments. We had four tests, and he dropped the lowest score (which meant the final was optional). Lectures and slides were all on canvas. I never had to open the textbook (which I got as a PDF), his lectures were that good.

This class was great! I think if any other professor taught this class it would be awkward, but Jim made it feel like any other class. He made sure students felt heard and wanted to make sure people really understood the content. A couple short writing assignments and tests were online so we could feel safe! Highly recommend this class and prof!

My favorite professor I've had. Handled topics appropriately, "hip with the kids" but actually. Isn't afraid to be personal during lectures, which made talking about typically awkward topics easier. Very kind and wants to help students. Highly recommend.

Graham is one of the best, very friendly, lectures given the material aren't that boring really. 3 exams, a few quizzes, a few problem sets, and a project he basically walks you through. All his video lectures are also on canvas, so attendance is optional - I came from 2 stats classes in DSCI tho. Not stressful at all, Jim makes it very manageable.

Jim Graham is a vibe. Super Low-Key, but he knows how to keep this lecture based class engaging. Given the class is a GUR, the workload is minimal and exams are open note, making this class harder to fail than it is to pass. I still attended all lectures from its easygoing nature , and Graham's ability to deliver information without any hitch.

Graham is one of my favorite professors at Western! Entirely lecture based but Graham is so funny and engaging. He is respectful, knowledgable, and straightforward, and I have seen him go out of his way to do further research in order to make his lectures more inclusive! The work load is not too hard, and I cannot recommend this class enough!

I love this man with my whole heart. Multiple choice quizzes only, a couple of short papers that don't need sources or research (basically just rant papers), and an optional final! Pls take his class.

Jim is the best professor I had this quarter, and was a great introduction to Western. I hope to take another one of his classes again :) I don't plan to major in psychology, but he teaches in such a way that I thought about it for a little while. I highly encourage taking one of his classes, especially as a first year.

AMAZING class! Made my communication skills better and I learned so much. Very inclusive of different identities and the issues they face. Graded on 3 papers, 3 exams, and an hour of research participation. Very accessible course since lectures are recorded. Graham cares about student feedback and gives appropriate trigger warnings for material.

I literally attended the first 3 weeks of classes and never went again and passed with a 93%. all of the lectures are recorded and Jim explains things with detail! there's 3 exams, 3 "papers" and an optional final.

Professor Jim is very sweet and his class is fairly interesting and easy. I wish that some things were explored in a little more depth-maybe with some case studies or specific material. It felt less like a psychology class and more like an upper level instructional sex-ed class, IMO. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would recommend taking it!!

You can tell he is very passionate about his work. A couple reflection papers throughout the quarter, but nothing too serious. Open note, multiple-choice exams.

Jim was awesome! Super sensitive to the topics we covered and made sure it was clear we could give him feedback to improve the class for next time. I kept being disappointed when I realized class was almost over. I ended up not reading my textbook the whole quarter but it could be useful if reading is your learning style.

Jim created a safe, comfortable, and inclusive environment within his Psychology of Human Sexuality lecture, wouldn't have wanted to take the class with any other professor.

Jim was such an amazing teacher! His lectures were engaging, informative, and he was always interested in everyones questions on the topic. His late work policy was great and he recorded all of his lectures if you couldn't attend. If you need a GUR take this class. I cannot recommend it enough.

All the tests are done online and though there are a few papers they are short and you can choose the topic. I would take every class with him if i could.

Professor Graham is obviously very passionate about this course. For a very easy to laugh at topic (for a lack of better words), he takes it seriously. He is there to teach and teach he will. Very respectful of everyone in the lecture. Only thing I would be cautious of is the jokesters in the class--pretty much unavoidable. Graham is awesome.

Professor Graham taught this class in such a caring way. You'll have 3 tests that determine the bulk of the grade. This quarter was online for exams but he might be changing that. You'll have a 2-page paper due before the tests that you talk about what you learned and there's weekly reading on McGraw with mini quizzes that are based on completion.

Professor Graham was amazing!! He was very approachable and very caring. This isn't on him at all, but I wish people would just let him talk instead of being the gender police (unit about gender) and stop trying to correct him every five seconds. It got so bad that people from OUTSIDE the class were coming to see. He is amazing and super easy class

I took this class my freshman year and it was the best class I've taken at Western. The workload is fairly light and on top of that James Graham is one of the best instructors I have ever had. Best prof at western in my opinion! He is very kind and grades lightly. All exams and tests are online and as long as you read and take notes on the lecture slides, the exams are easy. There are a few short papers, all of which I enjoyed writing. If you have the opportunity to take any of his classes, I 100% recommend.

TOOK 203! He is so great. He lets you use a paper of notes for all 3 exams. There was a decent about of homework but it was through the textbook so you get 100% of them and helped with the tests a lot. I never went to class and only looked at the notes and did homework and got an A. Take him for this class and you will take me later!!!!

Graded by 5 assignments, 2-ish weekly online inquizitives, 3 exams(1 page of notes allowed) and an optional final. Spent a lot of time studying but learned a lot from this class!

He's so understanding and caring! Lectures are good (recorded & posted online) he's passionate about what he does and it shows, this class is outside of my interest but he makes it more tolerable. InQuizitives, 5 assignments, 4 exams (he grades top 3 and drops 4th with the lowest score), notes allowed. Exams are pretty easy as long as you study.

Lectures tended to bore me but he did explain everything well and took (lots) of time to go in depth answering questions. There was a handful of Inquizitives, some assignments, and only 3 required exams w/ cheat sheet. (optional final). Overall a good prof and wanted his students to really understand content!
