Strict at the beginning, but will ease at the end. Be prepare to do a lot of writing (20 summaries/responses, 3 home, 2 in-class, research), but it will benefit at the end. Very knowledgeable, and very thorough about any subject.

Professor Zorn is a interesting teacher. There are no boring moments. He helps you with an problem and is a very understanding grader.

He is perfect. I never got bored in his classes. If you do 3 home essays and one research paper it is so easy to get good grate. His voice tone is really effective. It is lucky to be his student

This guy is a great professor. I enjoyed the class very much and learned a lot from him. He is tough and serious but at the same time he has a way to entertain the class that makes you wanna come back for more.

An exemplary and captivating teacher. Extremely knowledgable. Very nice and respectful with students. It is easy to see that he loves what he does. Look for him if you have to take a course that he teaches, you wont regret it.

This is just a sweetheart of a guy. He loves his work and while I can't say I was riveted to some of the material or a few of the films shown, the class did keep my interest. His voice is very soothing which is a plus when you take a night class after a full days work.

I took his 201 and got a lot out of it. He demands a lot on papers, but, hey, it's a writing class. The movie he showed was "Citizen Kane", supposedly the greatest American film ever. The person who said it was boring must be an idiot. Some of these comments are really annoying. How seriously can you take somebody who can't even punctuate or spell?

Life's Touch. Taken's the "path less traveled by" is a touch decion. Zorn does demand perfection, although he is very forgiving. He explains your weaknesses and give you time to recover(for essays). Watched movies, had a great time. I will recommened him for any serious person only. Thanks for the help! Zorn. ~Moe~

Gave me a B+ on a paper even though he liked it. Not very approachable (condescending). For someone who expects a lot from students, he doesn't expect much from himself--canceled class one week, scheduled a make-up session and then didn't show up for that, pushed off a quiz because he forgot it, and pushed off the due dates for each paper.

At first he seemed very tough. But if you do ALL your work and show up on time you will get a passing grade. This wasnt a effortless class. He really knows what he is teaching. I am happy that I had him. TAKE HIM!

Professor Zorn was great! He is a very smart man and he really knows what he is talking about. He never keeps you the whole time of class. I definitely recommend him!

Excellent teacher, funny too! There is a lot of work, however it's helpful when learning to write. Enjoyed his class and learned a lot. Will recommend him to anyone willing to gain knowledge. Thanks professor Zorn, you've inspired me to continue writing.

Smart & interesting.

Easy class.

What is up with all the negativity? I had Prof Zorn for WRT-101 and WRT-201 and got A for both. I don't think he gives that much HW to do. 3 responses per week, three 3-page essay, and a research paper. Come on guys, that's the right amount of work for a writing class. I think he grades easy on essays too. Don't let other comments scare you!!

Took summer 1, 2010. just do all the asigned work, 20 1-page essays, 3 3-page essay, 1 7-page research paper. Not a small amount for summer, but he doesn't really grade it that hard. i think should've gotten an A, but got B+. write more than what he requires and i think you should do fine

He was wonderful. Always answered my questions, is sympathetic when days off are needed, has a good sense of humor and is entertaining to boot. I got an A+ without trying! Great and awesome teacher!

All the other comments are from people who probably did nothing in class... plain in simple its in the syllabus 30 single paragraphs 2 3pg essays and 1 10pg research paper no quizes no midterms no finals thats it... if you cant handle doing work thats giving to you on day one dont bother. if you can manage and do it ahead of time

Still taking him but he makes literature so interesting and fun! I hated reading all these old stories but he actually makes me want to go to class every day to learn more. Definitely a great professor and he's funny.

Prof Zorn is a great professor. Dont pay mind to the negative feed back, they probably were lazy and smart assses in class. Not that much work and pretty fair grading. Zorn is the man. Its an easy A as long as you do the work. Two 3 page papers, one 7-10 page at the end of the semester and 30 short responses (3 a week). He is very lenient on due dates so that is a plus.

Very engaging teaching method (he really does have most of the poems he discusses memorized), he doesn't droll on like (let's face it) most professors do in their lectures, and is very lenient about late work and grades papers easily. As a student who takes literature very seriously, I would recommend Professor Zorn very much.

Really great professor if you take the time to listen to him. While he does tend to go easy on students in terms of homework and such, he expects regular attendance and participation. Just follow what he says and you'll get an easy A

Prof. Zorn is great but he does give a lot of work to do. 30 responses(3 each week), 2 essays, 1 final research paper. He explains everything in details and u can be late with papers and other homework. If u love literature, he's the man. I do and i got an A, but i still think those 30 responses were too much extra work.

I really enjoyed this class for the following reasons: Zorn is a smart dude and you can tell; Zorn is very lenient compared to most other professors (this is COLLEGE people); I actually learned about the wrongs and rights of writing proper, college leveled essays. Zorn CAN be condescending, but that's because most of you people at Bergen suck.

i loved coming to his class everyday, not only was our class fun, it really got us thinking. since it was a creative writing class we did alot of writing but our topics were easy. we used to textbook for homework but i handed all my homework in at the end of the semester and still got an A. take him if you can !

I had Mr. Zorn for Wrt 101 and i have to admit he is by far the best professor I had. He is smart, funny and always makes his classes interesting. There is a lot of Writing but it is fun.I got an -A- overall grade. I would recommend him to any of my friends. Everyone take him before his class gets filled up. Professor Zorn is one of the best English teacher i have ever had. As as international student, he gives clear instructions on what we have to learn and what we have to do. Very smart, knows what he is doing. Not very strict with deadlines. I have really learnt a lot after taking his class. Would be better if he can arrive class on time.

Lots of writing, but then again in a writing class what would you expect? Grades fairly, work rate is what you would expect from a college class. Handful of small papers, two larger ones and the final research paper. I honestly expected it to be much worse. He is also very relaxed with due dates.

Professor zorn is a cool dude. I love how he talks to you on how you can improve your writting and stuff. His is very lenient with due dates. Most of class is under and hour, sometimes 30 minute unless we are watching a movie like food inc. Overall I did all my work and ended with an A.

A great professor. This course is my first online one & was nervous at the beginning. However, his explanations and the materials he provides were great help. I learned a lot and enjoyed the course. 2 essays + 1 essay research + 30 journals (all based on the topics in the book) + few forums . He is flexible and isn't strict on due dates. Take him.

Its not an easy A because you have to actually do work but its self explanatory. Just do the work and you will pass. You have to read poems from a book and analyze three a week. The final essay is an analysis and comparison of two of the works.

He's not hard to follow, not hard to get a hold of, and not hard to please. Write what he assigns, give it a little flare, read the damn book and you're good.

One of the best professors I have had here at BCC if you don't like to work and expect the professor to hold your hand and baby you through the semester choose another professor. He gives 3 1 page paper per week and 2 3 pages papers based on the one page papers and 7-10 page research paper. If you put the work in you will get an A.

I took him for winter he gave me 3 essays and a thesis it was pretty easy.

I think Professor Zorn means well, but I didn't feel that I got everything I wanted out of the course. I don't feel that I left understanding creative writing any better then when I started. He gets wrapped up in conversation, and misses out on lectures and important lessons. I wouldn't take again. If you are taking him, show up and participate.

Very clear on what is expected. Keep up with the work weekly and you will do fine. He will help explain something if you do not understand. Not too difficult of a grader. i HATE writing and I got a B in this class. 2x 3-pg papers and 1 x 7-10 pg research paper. Plus easy 5 minute journals due weekly. I would take again for sure

For WRT201 we had journals every week which literally only had to be 3 paragraphs per reading, 2 3 page papers, and a research paper as a final. Really chill guy, very lenient with late assignments, & easy grader too as long as you show effort! Also, you NEED the book! You use it all the time for readings

He takes very long to respond to questions, as well as grading assignments. Tough grader. I took him online and it required alot of work. I thought I was a decent writer until I took his class. Syllabus is clearly written. Do not fall behind!!

He is not a bad guy in general, but as a professor he's not great when it comes to things like grading fast or showing up on time(he was on time once this semester) Textbook is used but all the stories and poems are online so don't bother buying it(there all in the syllabus) Gave good feedback on essays.

The work load isn't too heavy. You have to write 3 journal entries per week and sometimes participate in forums. Then there are two papers (3 pages) and a final research paper (7-10 pages). I don't think it's a hard class but I wouldn't say it's an easy "A". I think I'll end up with a B+ because I'm not great at interpreting literature. He's solid

Professor Zorn is the best, for WRT201 & stepping into English literature, his textbook is great also. From his intensive winter class I could get into drama world. He communicates and advises your essays and research paper. His advice will save you time, you'll never go wrong. I really appreciate this class and will take him again.

He's very good, very knowledgeable. A fair grader, i think. He gives good feedback. I guess if you hate writing, you're going to have a hard time, but if you like reading and are a decent writer, you'll do okay.

Professor Zorn is an extremely intelligent professor. His lectures are actually very interesting. This class is difficult to keep up with if you procrastinate as I did. :( Professor Z is extremely fair and accepts late work. If you are lazy and don't like to write I don't recommend taking this class.

Prof. Zorn was the best! I really was scared and thought I might fail the class at first but if you do your work, participate in class and DO NOT MISS TOO MANY CLASSES, youll pass. It's not hard to read 30 pieces of work over a full semester's time. He gives out the syllabus at the beginning of the semester so you would know what is expected (written deadline). He knows many stories by heart which makes his in-person lecture awesome. He will give you feedback on topics but its your responsibility to come up with original idea

I don't know why he has so many bad reviews. He is honestly just not easy going. Surprisingly this course was not that difficult, lots of papers but he is actually a fair grader. Wasn't too bad and I am not an English student.

Professor Zorn is a great professor! He did a great job teaching online and was always emails you back pretty fast. There are two 3 page essays and a final research paper. As long as you put the effort in you will be fine.

If you're taking this to learn English, you will learn a lot. There are lots and lots of reading assignments, but if you'll read some interesting pieces of literature. I just took this class because I had to so I had to grind for the A+ Boiiii

Professor Zorn is amazing and super patient. There's a lot of reading, but all of the 30 responses required about a paragraph or two. He also allows you to a grace period past the due date for responses. I recommend doing them ahead of the due date, because sometimes there's a paper due the same time as the responses. And he gives amazing feedback.

Honestly, I did not think Prof Zorn was bad at all. Yes, I was a little intimidated at first because he comes off rough around the edges, but at the end of the day, he just wants to make sure his students are learning. As long as you read the assignments and do the papers, you'll do fine. Ask him any question and he'll definitely provide feedback.

Took him Summer I online. It's a read-heavy course, but that's to be expected. Expect to put a fair amount of work for online, but it's not that excessive. Very lenient and caring, I fell behind work halfway but he let me submit everything anyways. Gives lots of good feedback, easy to reach via email. Do the work, get the grade. Lenient grader.

This was not an easy class but even asynchronous you can tell this guy cares about his class and wants us all to succeed. He gives great feedback on essays and really helps improve our writing skills. Not an easy A but if you do the work you will succeed.

You have to read a lot and write responses, but it's not so bad. He does not have clear due dates as long as you submit your work in a timely manner. His feedback is pretty good, and he wants you to do well in his class. He will work with you and help you write essays. The 3 main assessments in this class are 2 essays and a research paper.
