very bad professor. He challanges the class that no one will get "A" or "B" in his class. Talk nonsense in class.
He doesn't actually teach. His tests are pretty hard because he doesn't go over the material.
He is not clear about what he wants. Always looking for one or two words answers. His grading policy is not good. I wouldn't recommend him at all.
He is the worst teacher. Please please do not take a class with him. HE DOES NOT TEACH IN CLASS AT ALL. All he talks is other then marking class. He is so picky for the email assignments and project. His test is so hard because he does not teach at all. His grading policy is not good also
If you want to do good on his exams then read the chapters as many times as possible cuz he won't go over the chapters and test comes directly from the book. Group project was the killer, from beg. to the end you are doing something with your geoups.
Big semester-long group project. Exams are straight out of the book. Lectures concist of marketing cases. He knows his stuff though. Hard, but good teacher.
awesome teacher... doesnt mess around... i earned an A
Basically he is a bad professor. I got an A but i worked very hard for it. He never teaches and only deals with dumb cases from the book. He is the SOM associate dean and i think he uses that to his advantage. No Good do not take if possible.
not a good professor... pretty bad actually. Lectures were boring, projects were tedious and his answers were vague. Save yourself the trouble!
His exams were stupid examples from the book. Worked my butt off, and ended up with a C+. The team project is the worse. Not an easy guy
he's ok... Not too bad, lectures are a little.. strange... For tests just read "important" slides that he gives you in class, and you are good to go.
his class is challenging. If u want to get a good grade, "read the book" as many times before taking the test. Not a easy class, you will have to work very hard to get a good grade. Group projects are a killer, and make sure you are prepared for presentation.
Tests are very easy. No need to read the book, as long as you pay attention in class and grasp the concept, you'll be fine. The group assignment is a pretty cool one. It only sucks if your group does not function correctly, but you get the option of firing people from the group. Class is very interesting. I HIGHLY recommend Jim Harvey.
Test was easy. Class was interesting. But he'll say he wants it one way, but then would tell you he wants it another way. BE DETAILED! Group projects were a ****. If you have a good group, go you. If not, you can fire someone but pts will be taken off. Take with caution!
He would tell you he wants things simple and in "3-words", but would take off points because it wasn't detailed enough. The exams are fair and easy, but the group project can kill ones grades. That project is a B**** and a waste of time because he doesn't tell you what the grading criteria is.
The class is one of those that should be an online class, cuz he doesn't teach anything in class that is on the tests.Read the book on your time, and SLEEP on his time, you'll get an A.The reason he does groups is so that YOU HAVE TO come to class.Cuz if u don't it looks bad to ur group and they will penalize you.Beware...
Great teacher, tests are fairly easy, JUST READ THE CHAPTERS. At least skimg the book and you won't have trouble with the tests. If you get pts taken of in class assignments, you can talk to him and he will give you the points back if you fix it. Good teacher, extremely helpful.
Horrible, horrible, horrible professor. Exams are fairly easy but the in class assignments and group project are a pain because he is sooo unclear and vague about what he wants. This could be a fun class but he just makes it so boring and unclear. Not the best marketing professor but then again the others are not great either.
I'd rather shoot myself in the face then take this class again.
teacher is very vague and unclear about projects and group assignments...tests are fairly easy but his grading of participation and assignments are completely unjustified..he is very vague and unclear on all topics...marketing is not a difficult concept and he tries his best to make it impossible.
The 3 exams are easy & he gives review questions (all are on the exam) but the mktg plan is set up unfairly. you must do it in teams and doesnt explain what he is looking for and the plan is very repeatative. He has in-class assignments that cover major points in the plan and gives feedback..but his opinion seems to change very often.
He is awful....I felt like I was in the same lecture every single day. He is totally vague you have no idea what the hell he wants you to do on the project that counts for like a 1/4 of your grade...good luck!!
THE WORST TEACHER AT MASON!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
THIS IS TRUELY THE WORST TEACHER AT MASON...DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!! HE IS AWFUL..HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED...HE IS RUDE, STUCK UP AND DOESNT HELP YOU AT ALL...IF U WANNA MESS UR GPA UP TAKE HIM. THIS IS REALLY THE BEST ADVICE YOU'LL EVER GET
Let me add to what my classmates said already...the worst professor on Earth..rude like hell..doesn't teach in lectures..he goes on talking and talking and talking about things that makes no sense..the Marketing plan will bring you down..there is no way anyone could pass this joint unless you read the book by your self because he won't teach you ..
He looks like Mr. Rogers! The man loves to wear sweaters. He shows no emotion and would be great at terminating employees in a large corporation.
DON' T take him....as simple as that.If you love yourself ,and don't want to make your life miserable then avoid this class.
HE SUKS! U literally have to read the book. He is not a teacher, and when you ask him a question he gives you a cookie cut answer. I had to literally tell him that I couldnt interpret his communication, and asked him if I was applying it right as far as the MKT plan goes. He also gets annoyed with your questions and it deters you from wanting
HORRIBLE. The semester long project is bad, especially if you get stuck in a bad group. His lectures are useless, just read the book and slides. He doesn't answer questions and my group got no help until the day before the paper was due. Pick a product, not a service when it comes to the project. HE IS ONE OF THE WORST PROFESSORS I HAVE EVER HAD
HORRIBLE TEACHER, nuff-said
The lectures contained some interesting material, but were not that useful on the exams. Very unclear on what exactly he wanted on the project. Did ANYBODY get an A on the project? Participate in class, even if you just answer simple questions because he claims to recognize everyones' face in order to grade on participation.
Very easy marketing class. Though the professor is a nut. He grades hard and he gives you a hard time if you try to speak. But the class is fairly easy anyway.
There is nothing wrong with the class itself. The material is easy to learn and mostly common sense. Unfortunately, Dr. Harvey sucks at teaching it. In fact, he's not even a teacher. You ask him a question, and all he will say is "Wahoo's Fish Tacos." No help once so ever with any questions, and treats everyone like they are stupid.
Difficult Professor, hard to understand, however, if you read the book, go online and do the quizzes, read the slides, study hard and you can pull off an A. Pay strict attention to his requirements for the final project. My group got a 98 wrtn, 95 oral. But START EARLY, don't get bogged down in the end with all that extra work. Must motivate group.
He sucks at teaching really REALLY bad, he's cocky and gives absolutely no respect to students. What a jerk.
Go to class and make sure you participate in class. He is easy as long as u attend his class and do the work.
DO NOT TAKE HIM...he seems like a nice guy at the beginning but as you go on you will learn that he is a complete JERK. Has NO respect for his students. I studied for his final exam for about 13 hours over 2 days and still got a C. Really was one of the worst professors I've ever had at MASON......avoid this jerk.
Professor Harvey is tough but fair. You have to go to class, pay attention in lecture, and participate in group activities. Exams are easy as he provides a sample exam along with terms and page numbers to to study for the test.
Catch 22 because you have to go to class to get the in-class points but everything on the test is straight out of the book.
Okay, I'm not a "slacker" and I actually care about my grades and learning and that kind of stuff, but this man is NO teacher. He really does insult his students. If you're one of the type of students who always gets an 'A' don't take him, he NEVER gives an 'A' especially on the stupid group project which SUCKED ROYALLY!!! Avoid if you can!!
Chances are high that you're going to have to take this teacher whether you like it or not, so here are some of my tips: 1. Go to class, 2. Don't read the entire book, just know definitions, 3. Speak up so he can put a face with a name (trust me, it will help), 4. Don't save the project work until the end (YOU'LL SUFFER BADLY). GOOD LUCK!
dude you all gotta take Entrikin first and then complain here. if you got into Harvey's section, consider yourself lucky...unlike the ones stuck in Entrikin's section, a guranteed failure
I think the In Class Assignment Grades were not fair. Don't really bother reading the book, just look at definitions and the slides he tells you to look at, because doing the rest is a waste of time. The class was challenging, but it is a 300 level course so that is expected. I did put a good effort into it but still ended up with a B.
his teaching was average. He def knows what he's talking about but it's sometimes hard to follow bcuz he says 1thing & means the total opposite of it. his favorite line "it's that simple. I cannot make it easier for u." @ the end of sem. u just cannot stand this line anymore.u must study 2 get an A.group project sucks if u stuck with lazy students.
Good things about Prof H is that he posts the grades on time, he does his work to perfection, there are several inclass assignments and class participation opportunities, you must be present to earn those points (Crucial),mktg plan-bit challenging but the inclass will help you get through them easily. Exams are easy!Good luck!
Prof was awesome! Kind, helpful guy. Yes, you have to read the book, but he gives 1/3 of the questions for each exam out a couple weeks before you take it. Participation crucial, as in-class assignments of some sort were due almost every class.
He?s better then Entrikin so keep that in mind. Don?t buy the book just study the slides if you go to class he tells you which ones to study and gives you 1/3 of the test as a study guide. With the marketing plan just ask him lots of questions and you eventually find what he?s looking for in your brand. He?s not easy, but he?s not Entrikin.
Fair thats all I gotta say. Read the book come to class and pay attention and you should have no problem passing. oh and get ready to hear this phrase 100times "Piled Hiiiiiiggghhh" hahah
Folk! Customers don't want tacos, they want the BAJA experience. Professor Harvey is awesome, an easy B but you have to read the book to earn an A. He is very helpful and post the grades on blackboard promptly. Definetly recommend him.
I took him over the summer & enjoyed his class. I heard he was horrible but i found him extremely helpful & an easy grader.
Fairly easy. Can sometimes be unclear in explanations. Good overall.
I enjoyed his class great sense of humour. The only thing I did not like is the group project b/c I don't like group projects in general. Although I liked his class and was at everyone I dont think you need to attend every class to do well on tests just read the book. You will have to attend for weekly group assignment that is all.
I don't know why this prof. has such low ratings, I thought he was great. 3 MC tests based off the book, plenty of online quizzes, and a group presentation--there's a lot of group work. If you have a good group, and you read the textbook, you'll be fine. I recommend taking him. Prepare to hear a lot about Wahoo's fish tacos, though.
I enjoyed being in the class, he keeps it entertaining for the most part.Actually has a lecture for the students, not just read off powerpoints. Read the textbook and you will be fine. Grading can be a little tricky however.
you get the grade you put in. I typed all the terms in the book and did well, participate and ask ?'s and you will b ok
He is very invested in his students and helps them out as much as he can. He gives out 10 questions from each test beforehand and he allows students to argue for extra points. However, his expectations on group HW assignments are sometimes unclear and there is tedious online HW due every class. Overall though, I enjoyed having him as a professor.
Take HW, and in-class quizzes seriously. This bit me in the ass; 2 A's and a high B on the exams and I wound up with a B+. The in-class group assignments lack clear instruction, but if you ask Dr. Harvey he will help you out. Exams are not too difficult. Your group will be assigned randomly, so hopefully you won't get a leech like I did.
Test are fairly straightforward, mostly from the book. H/W is easy, quiz q's are exactly the same as h/w. The project and the things associated with it is what cripples people. Pray you get a good group, also the in-classes are very unclear and he'll take off points for trivial things. All in all he was decent, but I would not take him again.
Did not like this class at all. Group project is horrible if you do not have a hard-working or competent group, and it's worth 30% of your grade. Managed to get an A but only because I studied the book for hours for the exams. In class assignments are the WORST. He literally gave half the class zeros on one of them. What was the point of doing it?
Great class. Test are based off the vocabulary in the book. Not a hard A, if you're willing to do the assignments and read the book.
An excellent GMU professor. Class is well taught. Doesn't BS you with anything. He teaches you straight up. Not a boring class at all as he talks from his min and not straight from power-points. I def recommend him.
If your major is markeing, you MUST take him. Otherwise, I don't want to recommed him. The class is very practical, and provides real taste of marketing experience. But really hard to get an A. You must work HARD and think critically on every aspect.
Good at teaching the key concepts, he'll tell you when you're wrong or BSing which is great. Know the vocab for the tests and they won't be that bad but you do have to study, this is one of the harder 301 courses behind fnan and acct. A lot of group work and he assigns groups so good luck there but it simulates the real world. Solid professor!
He is easily one of the best professors I have ever had! The key to this class is to ask for help when you're confused, especially for the in-class assignments. If you don't ask, like one person mentioned, he will give a zero on them. And those in-class assignments are REALLY important for the whole project.
Material is easy BS stuff, but he always asks for supplemental abstract things that come from his head instead of the book and he is always unclear about what he's looking for. I had a dumb, illiterate girl in my project group, so that was annoying. Take it in the summer to get it done in a month instead of suffering for a whole semester.
I don't know why people are complaining. I thought he was a good professor. I think it's better to take it in the summer. It's quick and easy. Tests are not hard. We took our first 2 exams online and our 3rd test in class. Online tests are easier. He lets you do a do-over on some assignments so you can earn some extra points. HW are from Connect.
Best Professor ever! He was very quick in replying emails. Team project can be confusing but if you ask him for clarity he will answer you questions. One of the most helpful Prof I came across in GMU.
I got the feeling he was making it up as he went along. The group project was the majority of the class but it was very unorganized and he was no help when my group had questions.
Great Professor!! Really enjoyed his class!! Take him if you want learn and enjoy at the same time, he gives 3 exams all weighted the same and two of them are open book! Group project is fun and easy if you understand course concepts, connect assignments are little long but easy! Also, one of the most helpful professors I've had!!
He is a nice professor. Does not make it hard for you to learn. He loves details in the paper! make sure you pay attention to the detail in your presentation. He is helpful and Fast grader, doesn't make you wait long to know your grade! Do your homework, you'll be fine. He gives some of the question for each exam. Highly recommended.
Easiest professor ever! Tests are easy, he's a fair grader and he gives results back extremely fast! Class is boring cuz he rambles on, but it's pretty easy overall
Harvey is a good professor. The work in the class is pretty easy. His marketing plan was the hardest thing. He is quite unclear of what exactly he wants on the plan. Other than that the rest of the work was easy and helpful.
Harvey is a tough grader and he assigns this annoying group project that you have to consistently work through during the entire semester. You have a quiz every class we had a quiz and we also have homework everyday on connect with 3 attempts. So many tests. He is VERY picky with assignments but is a good teacher. i got a B+ but had to work hard
Probably the least effective professor I've had. He asks questions only to berate the answerer, provides little to no coherent answers, and is by far the most combative professor I've had. His direction (read, lack thereof) on the marketing plan is next to non-existent, and his feedback is ambiguous as he doesn't actually tell you what he wants.
Pretty terrible professor, as he never answered questions completely and always had some ambiguous explanation for his grading criteria. I honestly learned everything from the learnsmart exercises, as his lectures are him going over his sparse PowerPoint slides. His quizzes are a joke, as is the group marketing plan. Very little direction. Avoid.
The exams were super easy, but the group project was horrendous. I did the entire thing myself, worked really hard, and ended up with an A+ in the course. He is definitely a fair grader, and the online exercisesbook teaches you everything you need to know.
Don't ask him questions in class or answer the questions he asks the class. He speaks condescendingly towards students and is very unclear with what he wants for the group project. Hope that you get a good team, because you will be stuck with whoever you were assigned with whether you like it or not.
This class was the bane of my existence all semester. My group didn't do anything. Harvey is a tough grader and his grading criteria is very ambiguous as he doesn't tell you what he wants. He's also very condescending. The topic we ever talked about in "lecture" was cars. Avoid him because you'll be teaching yourself.
Harvey seems like me means well but he's just awful. He's extremely rude and condecending. He does not explain what he wants for the group project or the homework sorry ready to redo pretty much all of it for little to no points added back. He doesn't go over the chapters so you have actually read them. Quizes are easy but not worth much. Good luck
I took the hybrid course for MKTG 303. Dr. Harvey is definitely one of the harder professors I've had, but I learned a great deal and he was very accommodatin. I could always reach him outside of class, he gave clear feedback on our marketing plan (which lasts all semester). His lectures are dry. I recommend doing the Learn Smart activities to pass
Very accommodating and relaxed professor. Flexible about deadlines. He is a tough grader but he lets you redo your work and will guide you towards getting a good grade. Funny. Learnsmarts are long but easy. 3 tests all multiple choice. Just show up to class and do your homework and you will get a good grade.
Professor Harvey is one of the most straightforward and accommodating professors I've had at Mason! Do the LearnSmarts, in-class marketing plans, your group project and you'll be fine. Tests were straightforward; he emphasizes the content that will be on them during lecture. He cares about your gradee-mail him if you are struggling! Simple.
I didn't like his nit-pickiness with the group marketing project. He expects you to be very specific with the information you find and the solutions and strategies you come up with for your project. He has 3 exams (2 exams 50 multiple choice/100 Final). He offers study guides for both. You MUST show up to class if there is in-class work that day.
He's a nice guy but he will bore you to death. He has a clear grading criteria but he's one tough grader. Very picky in what he wants in his projects and even in-class assignments. There's a Group project with randomly selected group mates that he chooses. Anyone but him, he's knowledgeable but cannot teach... Stay Away.
In class assignment almost every class (took once per week), one semester long group project (3 parts - 2 assignments and 1 presentation), midterm,& final. Show up to class for the assignments! Lectures are useless (has funny sense of humor, but listen to him when he says something will be on the exam, IT WILL BE. Exams are tough, so STUDY.
Most nit-picky professor I've ever had. The class average for all in class assignments is below a 65%, which he shows you for each assignment, so I'm not guessing. Homework is a joke. This week we had 200 multiple choice questions to do online for one chapter. That means 1000+ questions to study for the exams. Do not take.
He did not take the time to explain the main concepts. The class is very boring and he did not explain his syllabus at the start of the semester. Many students felt lost because the did not make the instructions clear. Assignments are aprox. 3 per week, each of them 60 question per chapter. If I were you I never register to his class.
When it comes to grading the in-class assignments and the group project he is the pickiest professor. The answers must be his way or its wrong. The powerpoints he provides are useless so be prepared to read the textbook all 20 chapters. His lectures DO NOT prepare you for the exams so you must read the textbook.
Hardest class I ever took.
Going to class was not very helpful, but there are in-class group assignments each time. He was so picky on grading these and most people scored 70 and below on all of them. This really affected my overall grade. The group marketing plan was horrible in terms of group members. He is not specific in what he wants and study guides are vague.
He's nice guy there's homework online weekly takes a while but that's all of it and then there's exams there kinda hard if u don't study he's a good teacher explains stuff simple class and there's a really simple group project . If u don't try you'll still least get a C. You won't know ur grade til the end of the semester though.
MKTG 303 was a little dry. The professor was alright. Homework assignments - super easy. Exams - a decent study guide was given for each tests. Project - not too hard but he is a bit picky (if you are not sure, ask! He wont bite. He is infact helpful!) Presentation - as long as you have the material, hes not picky on presentation skill.
Literally he is HORRIBLE. Overall the class is simple. The in class assignments are extremely annoying. If you do not put down what he wants (like specific words) he will take away a lot of points. The final project is extremely long and tedious. He is not specific on what he wants. I would not recommend taking him if you are trying to get an A.
Class wasn't too hard. Just alot of online homework Ch 1-20. Has 2 exams 50q and a final 100q. Gives you a study guide and also allows you to challenge answers on first two exams. A bit of a tough grader on the in class assignments and group project is tedious but not that hard. Have to calculate your own grade at the end of semester tho.
You are placed in a group prior to your first day, you will do in class assignments and one large marketing pp and presentation with that group. 3 exams, 50 questions on midterms, 100 on final. He allows you to challenge up to 4 incorrect answers. He is a very smart man, knows a little about EVERYTHING. Good lectures, not boring. project pain
Torturer. Lectures are he talking randomly which are not helpful for the exams. But you have to be there for the group work each class. He's picky - you need to get the same words he uses. For group ppt, he is super vague on the expectation. Much hw on Connect, not helpful. Learn the book your own way to pass exams. Not your expected common class.
Lectures were boring and less informative than the textbook reading material, but it's an easy A.
Easy A+ if ONLY you take it online. Not sure how great of a professor is in a classroom, but was responsive through emails and was an unbelievably easy online class. No need to buy the textbook either, no use in it.
He is very responsive! Group project is the big thing. If you're unlucky it can affect you, he is a bit tough on grading. However, very responsive! easy online course
I want to like Professor Harvey, he does care about his students. However, it is near impossible to raise him through e-mail, which is pretty important for an online class (over a week for a response). Otherwise, pretty straightforward class. His expectations for the discussion board is still beyond my understanding. Do well on the exams.
Professor Harvey is okay, the guy is an extreme NITPICKER. Will deduct points for not using his own lingo for homeworks. Although the class is okay, I wouldnt advise taken this guy unless its your last resort. I cant see how anyone in his class can pass with an A. His tests get harder by the semester as well.
I took the class in summer 2020 easy class you don't have to do the homework you need to do the quizzes and memorize them because most of the questions in the exam come from the quizzes also he gave us a practice test before the final. Group project was easy also he curves a lot. Easy class with him.
Hands down to this professor! It was an intense course! Class was based on discussion board (you will get to revise DB, & resubmit), quizzes (can take twice), a group project, 2 test and 1 final. I did not buy access. Copy and paste all quizzes to study for exams. WILL HELP! My emails were replied instantly.
Great professor who is very passionate about what he teaches. The course consisted of multiple quizzes, discussion posts about different brands, and 3 exams (including the finale) that were 40% of your grade. There was also the group project that was much easier than I thought (possibly because it was the summer semester). Responds quickly to email
Frequent typos in his emails and announcements, almost seems incoherent. Difficult grader. His remarks on your assignments are infuriating and cynical. Hard to reach via email, responds sporadically without consideration of time crunches. If you need accommodations or extensions, this is not the professor for you - even with a doctor's note.
2 exams (midterm and final). Cases video quizzes, chapter quizzes and discussion post every week and a group project. Hes really helpful with group project. Very easy grader. Hes willing to give extra time and attempts on the quizzes if you asked.
took him for the summer, chapter quizzes, discussion posts, all easy busywork. group project included. Exam was quick and easy, lockdown.
His quizzes are arduous and long considering the amount of time he gives you. Doesnt provide clear feedback on graded assignments. I think this class wouldve been fun if I had another teacher.
You have to really know the material or else the course will be difficult. It is rigorous. There are weekly quizzes, discussions, group projects, 2 exams and 1 final. The exams are hard and he is a tough grader on assignments. Group projects are pretty easy but that is only if you have good teammates.
He is by far one of the worst professors I've had and I've had many. You will get between 3-4 quizzes a week, a group project for entire length of the class, 2 exams, 1 being 2 weeks before the final exam which is comprehensive. He does not help or provide valuable feedback. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS unless you absolutely have to. The textbook helps
So basically you get assigned a team to work with throughout the semester and they make or break your grade. I didnt buy the book I used an old edition and passed the class from there, gives you practice quizzes with questions thatll be on the test. Id take him again.
His RMP scared me but he's chill. Lots of quizzes and reading though. There's also a semester-long group project. Hope you get a good group lol. Lots of opportunities for extra credit.
I fought for this A. The worst professor of all time. No office hours so don't even try to ask for help. He's blunt in his emails, so you never get a direct answer. All his assignments make 0 sense, had to figure it out on my own. Not helpful at all. STAY AWAY from this, because he will make it your hardest class when it's supposed to be easy.
Under no circumstance is it ever a good idea to take his classes. Horrendous professor.
Multiple quizzes every week. Questions for exams are just trivia from Connect. Semester long group project and every week a *group* discussion post. Instructions don't make any sense and his feedback is not helpful at all. Overall a boring class. Would recommend to find a more engaging prof. Be prepared to teach useless trivia to yourself.
I rarely rate any professor, doesn't matter if they are really bad. But this guy is on another level, I have to do this to let you guys know. This class(MKTG303)is designed to kill students, period. OVERWHELMING amount of hw and reading every week. Recorded lectures are so BORING, reading off from scripts, do NOT help with quizzes & exams at all.
He is the TOUGHEST grader on group project. Exams are so long specially the Final, cover all 20 chapters in the entire book. This class is CRAZY. No extra credit, no quizzes or exam dropped. So NOT worth it for the amount of tedious work and suffering you have to put up every week
Don't take the asynchronous course. There are weekly group assignments, it's everything bad about group projects but 10x worse. 2-3 chapters each week, quizzes for each chapter + random video quizzes, 4-exams with 5 chapters each, each chapter gets 10 questions. Insutrctions are unclear, and the biggest work loads will be on exam weeks. Avoid.
Professor Harvey is a good teacher, clear on communication and standards. Read the textbook and take notes you will receive an A. LOTS of extra credit opportunities. Downside, is there is a semester-long group project, none of my group mates did their work so I had to do it all myself and there was no intervention on his part despite my attempts.
The group project is important and you can't choose your team. Tests are not that hard and the class is manageable, but if your team is bad, you'll have a hard time. The class isn't as hard as people rated in on here, but make sure to do the work.
There is weekly homework and quizzes but not too much. Exams are straight forward if you do the homework and quizzes for the week. He also lets you revise your work if they need to instead of straight up giving you a bad grade. also gives great feedback on what need to be done. Like every other class if your in a bad group its gonna be hard.
Rude and unprofessional. Take anyone else, his class isn't worth paying for
Prof. Harvey is really responsive and a great communicator. I had a tough time understanding exactly what he was looking for on a big group project, so asked him what he thought of ideas our team had. He would let us know if we were going in the right direction or not. Just don't be afraid to email him with direct questions in order to get an A.
never dropped a class ever but this class makes you want to pull your hair out strict grader Instructions and feedback are unclear so you don't even know what you did wrong Your grade rides on the project I dont care about homework heavy classes I've taken and passed worse classes but this professor makes you regret even taking a business class
NIGHTMARE PROF AVOID IF POSSIBLE. +5 asgmnts per week: chap&vid quizzes, and group subms. Group project=30% of total grade, so bad group sucks. Harsh grader&unprofessional. No lecture vids, learn yourself. Only redeeming factors are extra credit, fully async, and multiple attempt quizzes and tests. Start work early, can finish the course b4 break.
Huge group project throughout the semester, so if you get stuck with a bad group- you're screwed. He started the semester with informational lectures, but after the midterm, he stopped posting good videos. Quizzes every week for each chapter with no lockdown browser. The exams do have a lockdown browser. This professor is okay.
Get ready to work in groups. harsh grader. I Passed all my exams with nothing less than a B and ended up with a C.
I feel that the way professor presented assignments, grading criteria and course materials made the course 10x harder than it actually was. Even if you end up with a good group, the unclear instructions professor gives for the discussion boards and deliverables can end up screwing you over. Read the textbook because the lectures don't teach much.
Tons of homework. Not recommended!
Professor Harvey wasn't terrible, though group work can be challenging if you're assigned with shitty unattentive group members. He assisted me once with a project submission and there will be lots of homework every week, most of which contains work within your group. Content is valuable, especially for marketing students.
The professor is a tough grader, but he does provide extra credit. There are 3 exams throughout the course, but he gives you multiple attempts on them exams. Overall, he is pretty good.
Professor Harvey's class is no walk in the park - expect a heavy workload and strict grading. However, the lectures are helpful, and tools like Unstuckstudy can make exam prep easier. With dedication, you can succeed, but be ready for a challenge.
Gives so much homework it's like he expects this class to be the only one on your schedule. Has a total of four exams during the semester, two of which are two weeks apart from each other. Coursework is relatively easy enough but it's too much if you're a full time student. NOT RECOMMENDED.
This course had a lot of homework. Group projects weigh a lot on your grades and the exams are moderately simple. The professor does overlook somethings when grading, so be sure to double-check and email him and he will fix it. It can be a bit picky on grading, but just double-check and email him questions/concerns and he will fix it.
This course is generally difficult, I took a 5-week summer course and he was very lenient with our group project and assignments' due dates since it is the summer. I highly rec taking this over the summer because you cannot dedicate the hours during the sem with other course work. Tests had multiple attempts with Lock Down, 50+ lecture slides.
Prof. Harvey is great, responds quickly. Valued content. A lot of homework so prepare. Course will be heavy as a full time student, I am part-time. Group assignments every week. Extra credit opportunities and textbook optional. I did not purchase. I relied on his powerpoints which are helpful for the exams. 2 attemps on exams allowed.
I'm not sure why he has so many negative ratings, do not let them scare you. Yes, his workload is a little more than what I expected but overall it was manageable. The group project was okay, its only 4 group assignments worth 100 points each but they arent difficult. 4 exams use lockdown browser. There are also extra credit opportunities.
Course load was heavy. Seems to use some kind of AI generated grading system. Tough grader, but you can email him to ask about grades and he may change them. Exam questions are challenging, but he gives 2 attempts. Responds to emails quickly.
Useless old man collecting a paycheck doesn't teach well or do anything. Puts in grades late and is overly critical. Literally replies to emails with a single word like his dad payed your tuition. Do not take his class
Workload heavy. Very picky grader but responds to emails quickly. Extra credit is really not “extra” in the sense of how EC is incorporated. I did 70 extra credit points and had A and B on tests, group work and assignments and got a B+. I asked him about the EC and how calculates into final grade and he said the final grade is correct.
Quite a good amount of homework weekly. Mainly group projects but it's not too bad if you get a good group. He grade a little harsh but nothing too much to worry if you follow the rubric.
Theres a heavy workload but if you stay on top of it it'll be fine. The reviews scared me but honestly the semester was pretty smooth. He makes his expectations for the week very clear via email in the beginning of the week. I would take him again
