Lectures are clear, related to what will be on tests. Also points out during lecture if topic\info will be a question. Provides plenty of extra credit on tests. No quizzes. Read, watch his lectures you can get an easy A. Got B since underestimated readings and got caught up with other classes in finals week. Still great professor, would recommend

Professor Head lectures the concepts in a story-like manner. For every unit, he assigns four reading that you are expected to have a thorough knowledge of because you will need them to pass his unit exams. Aside from the 4 tests, there's one Family History paper that is not difficult but takes a while to complete.

Lectures were a bit on the boring side but still nice and story-like. Family History Paper was fun but should not be procrastinated (speaking from experience...). Tests aren't that hard if you study for them (even if it's the night before) and he offers extra credit on the readings and attendance. Would definitely take him again!

The class had four exams and one FHA essay. The four tests were easy; make sure to study and take notes! He lectures like telling stories, which is fantastic. FHA has easy criteria, and office hours were helpful. Mr. Head cares for his class and gives extra credit for attending and readings on the tests. He is very nice. I would retake his class.

He was a great professor. The lectures were actually interesting. We had four tests and one big project. He gave extra credit for attending class. What is in the lectures is in the exams. He also gives out readings for every unit and you should memorize the small details of those readings. He also gives extra credit opportunities on every exam.

His long, off-topic, and vague lectures, based on slideshows, result in pages of notes and unclear test preparation. Tests feel like trick questions, especially the reading part. The project, only for A&B students, offers no grade boost, only potential for a lower grade. It seems the professor prioritizes failing students over teaching effectively.

Do not take this class unless you can remember info well.

As long as you attend class, print the readings and PowerPoint slides to take notes, you will be all set for his exams. Your grade is based on 4 unit exams and he gives you an extra 3 points on them for attendance. You will be required to write a family history paper if you've got an A or B in his course. I took both 1301 (16 wk) & 1302 (8 wk).

I have no respect for him after he made fun of me for being goth. If you go to the restroom in class, whenever you come back he'll pause the lecture to give you a death stare! Also, most of the work are tests and if you don't do well on them you don't have anything to fall back on.

I love history so I think that helped him on this rating. I will say I am a horrible test taker so that was really hard so I didn't pass with the best grade. He hates giving extra credit or any help. Be prepared to have strict no phone rule. Someone in my class checked his phone for a second and he blew up and called him out in the middle of class.

I dropped out of his course because his lecture heavy, with only exams for assignments made me very nervous and I personally couldn't contain a good grade as I'm a crappy test taker. Some of the most boring lectures i've ever heard, would take 20 minutes for 2 slides and get off topic about random history. Be prepared to study a lot.

He has long lectures, that are hard to follow because he often goes off on rants, but they're mandatory to pay attention to. His tests include some material learned in class but also he'll just disregard some points and you're obligated to go back and read his notes yourself. There's only 5 grades, 4 being tests, and the last being a long paper.

The class is straightforward. He lectures, you take notes, you get the exam. It's a very "dry" material but the professor seems like a nice enough guy. He also clearly likes what he's talking about so that sort of passion is appreciated. Very much "bare bones" sort of class, just lecture and exams. There is also a research paper on your family.

He was a nice professor, but pretty unhelpful. Our grade was 4 exams and one assignment that only people with a grade higher than a B could do. He just did lectures and we had unit terms that ended up not even being super useful. He's super unclear about what we will be tested on. He also expects you to go to SI to do well, but most people can't

Head is a kind and caring individual. However, every class consists of nonstop lectures and offers limited grading opportunities. The final project is an entertaining project, but can only bring down or maintain your grade and only required for As and Bs. Misleads students on what information to remember for exams. Doesn't go over all the slides.

Be ready to read stories from older time periods that may make you sad, 1302's content is dark. But Professor Head was great to have if you need the credit. His exams are based on the lectures. Everything on his presentations are answers to exam questions. His SI Lindsey is how I made an A. Make a timeline before every exam 2 days in advance.

I did a 5 week in person with him, his lectures are good, sometimes rambles, but is clearly passionate. The grade was based on 4 tests, which has questions based on readings he gives you before test, some harder than others. Strict no phone or leaving policy, he will call you out. He's pretty funny and is a good guy, he loves Dr. B soda. Take him.

The whole grade consists of 4 multiple choice and written response tests, one map test and a family history assignment, but for this last one, is only for those who have B or A in his class, so you might as well just try to aim for a C. He'll assign you three readings per unit and ask you very specific questions
