So far he's really awesome. Funniest person i have ever met and you can tell he is really passionate about what he teaches. Does like to put people on the spot, but does it all in a nice funny way. I'd recommend this class as of right now

He is the funniest teacher I have ever had. He makes stuff really interesting and shows everyone he cares by learning their names. He tells us stuff that isn't in the book and adds details and will say "Don't write this down, just listen." It makes me feel good to know that he wants to teach us, not just do his job and make us pass the course.

This class is so EASY! i think everyone in our class got an A. make sure you do the extra credit articles! he is really funny and interesting. it was a night class once a week, so it was supposed to be 3hrs long, but we never stayed in there the entire time, and he gave a lot of breaks.

Do all extra credit! Tests were sort of tricky but just study extra for them. He has very interesting lectures and keeps your attention and opens your mind to new things, I definately recommend him. There was a group presentation ehich was a major part of your grade but you could make this fun and basically you get credit for just doing it!

If anybody says anything bad about Dr. Hensley, it's only because he told them to (sorry Doug). His class was extremely fun. His lectures are entertaining, and he uses everyday examples to relate the info and help you remember it. Tests weren't easy, but if you do the extra credit and the group project you should be fine. Take this class!! :)

Are you looking for a proffesor that is easy and that is very funny in class? He is the one. You have to do three exams and a project for bonus points in the lowest grade. Very fun and he loves to interact with student. You will have to study from the book.. if don't you will not be able to respond the questions !!

I took Doc's class fall sem '08. i didnt once open the book and i dont even remember hearing about a project. i attened class everyday, not only for my love of psy, but for his humor. i passed with a flying A. Sounds like people should just open their minds and pay attention sometime to whats around them.

He gives you chances to make higher grades on your test too by writing a 700 paper. You can write up to 3 papers. Easy to bring your grade up if you're making a bad grade.

I liked this class more because I was laughing the whole time, and since he uses jokes for the class material, it's easier to remember for tests. I only used the book a little bit before tests to look at the questions at the end of the chapter (sometimes he uses em on tests). Take him.

This proffesor does not bore down those three hours you're in there. He keeps it up beat. His tests need a little studying. He gives you an opportunity to write three essays to replace your lowest grade and has many other extra credit opportunities. Overall it was a great class!

The only thing to note is you *must* read the chapter the test is on outside of class. He tells you he doesn't cover everything in class & he's serious. The easiest class ever. You would have to put in significant effort to fail it. One of my friends got a B. I don't really see how. Buy the concept charts and look at them before the tests. The tests make it easy to get a B. 30 minutes of studying gets you an A easily.

This was a pre-requ. that i didn't want to take, and wanted to put in little or no work. It was everything I wanted and I learned so much. He doesn't make the class hard as long as you go you learn. The assignments aren't very hard they just take time. Recommend.

Hensley is such a geat professor. He is funny and gives ample extra credit. Tests go along with the textbook, so make sure to read. He does not require attendance, but you will get 10 extra credit points for attending every class. I haven't finished the class yet but expect to make an A or B. Definately take him for 2010!

Funniest guy ever! You will be laughing the whole class. But he also takes the material seriously and he is very interactive with the class. He makes the material easy to retain. You get major extra points for coming to class and doing his extra credit surveys. Grades come from just the midterm and final which you have to study pretty good for.

Mr. Hensley is a great professor! You have 2 tests (midterm and final) but many chances to reach a max of 20 extra credit points on your final grade plus 10 points for perfect attendance. Study the information he gives you in notes referenced to your book. Tests are difficult but if you just study, extra credit can pull your grade up extremely.

The lectures are very entertaining and there are lots of extra credit opportunities. The tests are hard and the only way to really prepare is to read the book and look over the power points. There are practice tests at the back of the book and they are worded similar to how he words questions. Its a fun class but definitely not an easy one.

Take Him. That's all I have to say. 2 Exams and tons of extra credit, and attendance is not mandatory, but do come the first couple of classes to get your assigned seat for attendance purposes. 10 extra credit points for perfect attendance!

Professor Hensley was honestly my favorite professor this semester. His lectures are really interesting and he always has stories that go along with them. We dont use the book in class, but it is really helpful when studying for the test, which there are only 2 of. But he offers tons of extra credit and you get extra credit for perfect attendance.

He only gives a midterm and a final. It is very intimidating, but if you are in class everyday and do all the extra credit offered a good grade is very possible. His lectures are pretty entertaining, but in order to get a good grade on his tests you have to read the book.

Everyone always says Hensley's class is easy but I struggled to even get a B. You only have 2 grades throughout the semester which is intimidating. However, he does assign a lot of extra credit. Reading the book is the best way to learn the information. He's a cool dude and his lectures are hilarious.

He will give plenty extra credit, so take his online surveys. Attendance isn't mandatory but when he does randomly check if you're there you get bonus points. His lectures are fun and interesting so you won't want to miss class. I would take him twice a week and not his long class. He's one of the funniest professors you'll take.

Had to take the course for my gen-ed's but i ended up loving the class a lot. His lectures are very fun and he taught me a lot about psychology and how to mess with people.

There were only the midterm and final, they will absolutely kick your butt if you didn't pay attention or study. His lecturespsychology is extremely interesting but there's a lot of note taking. He emailed surveys from other classes through ilearn that if you filled out enough you would get some extra credit.

Only a midterm & final, 50 questions each, each test covers about 4-6 chapters. One of the best teachers Tech has. AMAZING lectures. Do ALL of the extra credit. 104 on the midterm, 78 on the final, plus 20 points extra credit onto the final grade! Assigned seating, so sit where you want to be sitting for the whole semester.

Hensley is the bomb! Hilarious professor with many personal stories that coincide with the lecture. Although the class is fairly long, I could usually stay interested the entire time. Only a mid-term and final. Four computer-graded essay questions throughout the course of the semester. Great class and professor! Highly recommended!

Best class Ive ever taken. It's easy and laid back. At the same time you do have to pay attention and attend every class. I never took notes and go 100's on the midterm and final, but if thats what helps you study I suggest doing it.

TAKE HIS CLASS. Seriously an absolutely amazing teacher. He gives very detailed lectures but follows a powerpoint. The book isnt absolutely necessary bc he does not assign things from it but he recommends that you read it for better understanding of the course. Lectures were very informative, but not necessary. You have to purchase the online book in order to complete the required assignments. It seemed like a lot of work, but in comparison to other classes it's not. My advice is start on the baby & quizzes early and get them out of the way! Doug is a great and hilarious lecturer. He only gives two grades: a midterm and a final. They both cover 4 chapters of his choosing, but a chapter can range from 60-130 pages of content. My advice: make quizlets as you go, and you should pass no problem.

Doug told us, "I prerecorded my lectures years ago, and I made them as boring as possible to punish those who missed class, real nod you to sleep type of videos." Im taking Dr. Hensley during the COVID pandemic so his class is a bit different for me. He puts up Chapter PowerPoints but honestly, I haven't even looked at them & I have a A in the class. He grades based off of 3 tests which are based off certain chapters & gives A LOT of extra credit options. Definitely an easy online class.

Professor Hensley is a great lecturer. His exams can be tough, but if you study you'll make a good grade. Since this was a lifespan course, we did a lot of essay questions about ourselves. They are not in strict "essay" format; he just wants in depth responses about yourself. Grading criteria is clear and easy to follow.

I had this class online because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, but he was an amazing, passionate, and helpful professor. He posted online lecture videos that were very entertaining and helpful. Make sure to take good notes and study well for the three exams (those are your only grades for the semester). He does give lots of extra credit opportunities.

I took Life Developmental PSY online and it was really easy to understand. Hensley had pre-recorded lectures and he posted questions at the end. The homework was literally questions about yourself throughout your lifetime. If you watch the lectures, the exams should not be difficult. He covers all of the material on the exams.

This class and professor were amazing. We had lecture twice a week and it was great. I was afraid to have a boring teacher who droned on but he made the class very interesting. There are a lot of chances for extra credit and 3 exams throughout the semester but beside that there was not any homework. I would highly recommend this class.

He is great professor who engages with the class in his lectures and has very little homework. He provides us with all the tools and material needed to be successful and prepares us for the next course in psychology.

Professor Hensley was one of the funniest professors I have ever had. His class was very easy to pass and he gave several opportunities for extra credit. You won't really need the textbook for this class. All his tests are online too, so you can typically take them at your own pace.

Lots of extra credit if you take the surveys he emails. Your grade is based on 3 online exams, attendance bonus and extra credit. Make sure to be there the 3 random days he takes attendance for the attendance bonus. He is very funny and the tests are easy. He posts his powerpoints on ilearn so no need to take notes.

He's a lot of fun, attendance isn't mandatory, but he will give bonus quizzes throughout the semester that can boost your grade. Lectures aren't boring and he keeps things interesting and relatable. I would definitely recommend this professor.

Professor Hensley is awesome, he called me out while I was wearing my Bose and made do a door bell noise in front of the entire class. Exams were easy, lectures made me cry of laughter, and after all that I didn't learn anything!

Amazing professor. His lectures are focused, in-depth, and interesting. His homework and test requirements are very reasonable with ample time to finish everything. Plus, he's a very approachable and friendly guy if you need to reach him outside of class.

Doug was a great professor. It was a long lecture, but it's only once a week so very bearable. He also uses humor and is a great speaker. All in all, simple and enjoyable class.

I love Professor Hensley! I did not love the three hour lectures! If you can I would definitely take this class two times a week instead of one if you can. It is so hard to listen to a lecture for three hours. His tests were easy and he gives extra credit for perfect attendance and surveys. He is a great speaker!

Prof. Hensley is an amazing instructor! He is very passionate and knowledgeable about psychology and he tries to make the lectures very humorous to make up for the 3-hour lecture. He offers a lot of extra credit through attendance and surveys. Only 4 tests for grades, but they are online and you can use notes so they are pretty easy.

Everyone loves Doug. He makes the class interesting and enjoyable. Take him if you want a class that you dont ever have to worry about. Tests are online and easy so no worries ever. An easy class thats still interesting.

Hensley is a great professor who is very knowledgeable about what he teaches (obviously). He manages to make 3 hour lectures feel like only one because he's just that entertaining. He's very open to questions if you have them and gives extra credit for attendance. Just a really cool dude and a great professor.

doug is so funny! easy class, graded by 4 tests. he also gives 10 points for attendance and 10 points for surveys. but please, for the love of god, don't take his night class. had trouble staying awake.

Dr. Hensley is literally my favorite professor on campus. I enjoyed his class so much that I decided to get a Psychology minor. He is very funny and his class is actually one you will want to go to. I recommend any student who needs a filler class to take this class. He's literally the GOAT!

I love Doug. His class was fairly simple. Just show up and scribble down anything he says. He only had a few exams, 4. That's the only work he gave. He also sends out emails that you can fill out for extra credit and when he takes attendance he uses it for extra credit.

I loved his lectures and his sense of humor, as it made Psychology much more interesting! The only downside to his class is that your grades are entirely based on Exams (we had four). However, he does send out surveys for extra credit and takes attendance as extra credit as well. Even if psych isn't your thing, he makes the class worth it. 10/10.

This class, along with his others I've taken, have been very enjoyable. I will say that your only grades come from 4 multiple choice exams, but he leaves them open for an entire weekend and then gives bonus credit at the end of the semester. I would recommend for anyone looking to take intro to psych or lifespan development psychology.

All hail Doug. The best professor I will probably ever have. As a psych major, he is AMAZING and definitely is passionate about his field... literally EVERYTHING is online. You don't even necessarily need to show up for class, but make sure somebody sends you that attendance code because he fails you if you 'miss' like 3 classes, I think. SO EASY!

Doug was by far one of my favorite professors this semester! It is a lecture heavy class, once a week for 3 hours, but he does make it entertaining and fun and tries to keep us engaged. There are only 4 tests throughout the semester and it is over the weekends and open note! Overall I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone!!

I love Doug and his lectures. My only issue is that his course material tended to be heavy, making his exams heavy. I found his exams challenging to study for, but if you paid the slightest bit of attention, you would at least make a 75% on them. His lectures were funny and worthwhile. Having no homework and a lot of extra credit was nice, too.

A great professor, attendance is required. I had him for the 3-hour lecture, which is a lot. However, if you email him before the class and tell him why you won't be there, he will excuse it. Tests were online and open through the weekends. Overall, interesting and pass-worthy class.

Uncle Doug was amazing!! His class was very easy, but also very engaging. He is extremely knowledgeable, funny, and tells lots of stories. If you have the chance you should 100% take his class!

Doug is funny. attendance is mandatory, but random and he only took attendance probably 5 times in the semester. 2 exams... midterm and final open notes online.

Like every other comment says, Doug is really cool. I was kinda lost on the midterm and final cause some of the stuff felt like detail stuff that he doesn't say but in fairness he did say to read the textbook and I definitely didn't. Don't buy the textbook, its free from him and he never really takes attendance.

Grade is Midterm/Final/Extra Credit. Exams were done on personal time, and were open book. Uncle Doug is VERY funny and enjoyable and makes class interesting. Attendance was only required in beginning but then he stopped taking attendance.

Really funny with only the midterm and final and a lot of extra credit but his attendance policy is confusing.

This was a pretty easy class. Only grades are a 50 question final and mid-term, so don't screw up. Attendance was "mandatory," but he kinda just stopped doing it halfway through. Overall, easy class and would recommend.

Uncle Doug is great. He is funny and entertaining during class. He loves telling stories and connecting it with the content making it more memorable! He gives lots of extra credit and post all the slides online. There are only two test, so make sure to study, but they are open note!

Doug is a goat. He makes the class really easy except there are only 2 grades throughout the whole course. your midterm and final so dont miss it. the tests are online open note so you should be fine if you take notes.
