Best teacher ever! Helps any way possible. Give you his cell number to call him with questions and will meet anywhere for tutoring. Accounting isn't any easy subject but he tries to help you as much as possible.

Down to earth and extremely helpful. Mr. Howse creates a good relationship with his students and helps them to succeed. He will take the time to answer questions and really cares to make sure subject matter is understood. I wish all professors had his approach, style, and attitude.

Took him for ACG2021 and ACG2071; I would suggest him to any students taking Financial or Managerial Accounting. He loves to be there and to assist the students. He understands the coursework and he makes his class very enjoyable. Never a boring day in his class. Do your homework and study moderately and you shall do well.

I took all my accounting classes with him, he's a great teacher and curves on exams and drops your lowest grade and your second lowest grade if you do the extra credit! Accounting lab next door is very helpful also, ask for Tracy, she's the nice one!!

Good Teacher, makes jokes and is nice, understands how nervous people can get but still likes to call on everyone, he helps if you don't know the answer. Had 4 test, some were difficult. Homework was not collected or graded, But should be completed. only thing graded was comprehension problems and tests

He is an awesome professor,does what he can to help you understand, very willing to help his students, but you must do what is asked. He is willing to help if you are willing to do the work. Homework and comprehensive/excel sheets are important! DO them. They help!

Hands down the best teacher I've had in the three years I've been a full time student with IRSC. He is helpful, patient, clear about expectations, and super funny. Also, he is very reasonable. He wants his students to pass, but understand too. Totally take his classes!

Makes accounting interesting and simple. Attendance is not required, allows make ups, gives extra credit,tells you exactly what will be on quizes and tests. Tests are a breeze if you do the homework. If you don't attend class, read the chapter, and see Howse or one of the accounting tutors across the hall if you need help.

This guy is great. Of all the guys that have hair this guy makes his own hair with the knowledge that comes out of his head. You will like this guy.

Great Professor. He is hilarious. Accounting is not the most interesting subject but Professor Howse makes it easy to understand and somewhat fun. Do your cengage hw and his quizzes and tests are fairly easy. Take notes, attend class and do the hw and you'll pass with an A.

Prof. Howse is one of the funniest professors I have ever had. He is very witty, smart and knowledgeable in Accounting. He will cheerfully stay after class to explain any material you may need clarification on. I highly recommend him!

Mr. Howse is one the the best professors I have ever had. He is genuinely concerned with both his students grades and their happiness. I took his course during a rough patch, and he really helped me through. I don't think I would be where I am today if it weren't for his help. There is a reason why students love him. He is a fantastic professor.

Incredibly helpful and more than willing to re-review something if you need it. Very relatable and easy to understand. Great sense of humor and quick to laugh as well. Definitely do the cengage homework, and look out for extra credit- be sure to go to class!

Had Howse twice and wish I could have him for every class for my degree. He is funny and tries to make the material relate able. For someone who is not an accounting major but needs to pass the classes, this is the professor to take. You do have to work for the A but he makes it easier to do..

Such an amazing professor! Passed with a 97.6. He lets you know what is required and if you need any help with anything, he is willing to help. During my class time a few of the students were having a few problems, he pulled them aside and offered to start a study group for them. The best of the best!

Great professor. By far the best professor I have had. Be sure to do the homework and there won't be any surprises on the test. Really funny and entertaining. Made the 2 12 hour night class fly by. Very helpful and knowledgeable.

He explains everything really well, and simplifies concepts down to the basics. He has no problem explaining things 10 different ways until it is clear. He will also take the time to answer questions and go over things if you need help. There are 3 tests, normal difficulty. Easy HW, easy online quizzes for each chapter. Really enjoyed this class.

Super cool dude. Teaches you everything that will be on the test so there is no suprises. Attendance is not mandatory, however you probably will not do good if you miss some days. Exams are easy if you practice the Homework. Easily my favorite professor and he is Hilarious. He would probably be a pretty good stand up comedian.

Dr. Howse is such an awesome professor. There's no other way of putting it. If you put in even a minuscule amount of effort, he will meet you half way. If you have questions, he answers extremely diligently, making taking him online super easy. Take him for managerial accounting! He makes his own spreadsheets to help you learn everything faster!

You will not fail if you attend every class and practice what he teaches you. The hardest part of the course is the hw. Everything else is explained over and over again. Makes the class fun and understandable. Just a really cool overall kinda guy. Can be reached at any time via cell

11 HW assignments on Cengage, 11 in-class quizzes (similar to HW)70, and 4 Exams. Also gives extra credit. Makes Accounting Crystal-Clear for students whether they are Accounting Majors or not. He also gives extensions on assignments if you have an emergency of some sort. Taking him again for ACG2011 this Summer.

Howse is an awesome professor, he goes above and beyond to help you when you really need it. I have taken him for all my accounting classes and Theory II. That is a horrible class but it's not his fault. You really have to pay attention and doing homework will really help you out. If I had the chance, I would take him again.

I can not praise Professor Howse enough. If you have the option, take him! I've always hated accounting courses and always really struggled with them, but he actually made accounting interesting to learn. He's super passionate about teaching and if you give him a phone call for help he'll go above and beyond to make sure you grasp everything.

Prof Howse is HILARIOUS. Really, he is so funny and makes the class very enjoyable. I found ACG2071 very hard but I'm not an accounting major so there ya go. He wants you to pass - I would ask him important things to know and then get extra help outside of class. Nothing crazy and I made an A on a couple tests. Practice the HW! That helps the most.

Amazing professor, super funny and caring, always willing to help, very asccessible outside class, but his classes tends to be overwhelming and he's speaks too fast and that's definitely a real issue. Especially if you need time to write down what he's saying; unless you're a really fast writer.

He's a seasoned professor that's seen and heard it all. He's very clear about expectations and gives plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

He is the best professor at IRSC! He makes accounting easy to understand and reviews the chapters right before the exam starts. He is very helpful and will work with the students, but do not skip class or you will get lost. I passed ACG2011 only because of this class.

This is the hardest class of the Accounting degree. He truly wants us to succeed but this requires a lot of effort. You must understand as he does not test exactly as the homework reads. Will always give help if asked. Hilarious and a totally sarcastic but takes as well as he gives. Comprehension not memorization should be his motto.

I took Howse for all three of my accounting classes. And if I had to take a fourth class I would take him over and over again. Truly cares for his students, goes the extra mile to help. Plus he's HILARIOUS. very sarcastic so don't take his jokes seriously!

Managerial online was a tough class but he called me and helped me over the phone whenever I needed it. I never got to meet him but he seems like he really cares and wants you to do well. Would definitely take him again. He loves the subject he teaches and is always willing to help. Even let me resubmit something I messed up on for a better grade.

Never got to meet Professor Howse (online class) but spoke many times over the phone, he really cares, i did good on everything (homework, quizzes, and spreadsheets) and did terrible on the first 3 exams and still passed. He was very accommodating due to family emergency's. The final is a bunch of spreadsheets, YOU NEED THE BOOK FOR THEM!

This teacher is the best math teacher I have ever had. In fact he is such a good teacher that his class filled up for registration in just two days. He is very funny and keeps the class engaged. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Professor Howse is HILARIOUS! I took him for Managerial, and this man is the best IRSC has to offer for accounting. He teaches ideas and concepts clearly and is there to help you always. You will not regret having him!

Howse is an amazing professor. He gives you real life scenarios, and makes it easier to understand. He focuses on the main topics in each chapter, and his quizzes are identical to the exams. You must have the book and a 4 function calculator, because you will do a lot of practice problems. DO NOT overthink in this class, you're probably right!!

His tests are worth 80% but they are not too bad. When lecturing he tells you exactly what will be on the exam. He will go out of his way to help you, just have to ask. He jokes a lot but when it comes down to it he really cares about his students. I have taken him for accounting 1 and 2 and i plan on taking him again for managerial

Good Professor overall. I took his class online,but I would recommend taking it in person ( once available again). Tests have to be taken on campus in the testing center. They are pretty straight forward but be sure to study (especially for online tests). I would heavily focus on Chapters 8&9 as these are some of the toughest chapters!!

Great class. Accounting was hard for me but professor howse took a lot of his own time to help. He answers his phone even on the weekends. He jokes around a lot but seriously makes sure you understand the material he makes the class fun but at the same time teaches you what you need to know. His tests are exactly what he teaches

Amazing professor, possibly the best in the department. Explains all the concepts thoroughly and really wants you to understand the material. Heavy weight on exams, but he prepares you for what to expect if you go through the homework. Accounting's a tough subject but the way he taught it really made it so much easier.

Keep up with the homework, don't leave it til the end. Ask questions if you don't understand, he'll take the time to explain. Wouldn't mind him going over the tests afterwards to see what was missed, but you can always go to him and ask to see them.

Financial Acct. is said to be a tough class, but Howse's lectures were amazing and he broke down the material for us to understand. I enjoyed the group work, and his style of teaching was excellent. I learned more in this class than perhaps any class yet, and I'm 16 classes into my A.A.!! Highly recommend. Take full semester if possible, though.

Theory 2 is probably the hardest class in the program but there is not any professor I would rather have teaching it. Amazing lecturer, you WILL work hard if you want to pass but he gives amazing guidance for what you need to become a great accountant. Hilarious and incredibly knowledgeable.
