As long as I came to him with my questions, he was always willing to help. Very fair and as long as you come to class and take notes, there is very little that should be difficult.

Gives you reviews for all tests, has fair grading system. Doesn't give multiple choice test, but does give partial credit on exams

Very helpful instructor, Gave us a 50 point curve on final test. Even gives out his home number so you can call him and ask him questions about the problems. Lots of grades so if you mess up you can still bring up your score.

The material is material covered in high school algebra. On top of that he teaches with such clarity. Word of advise do not miss class because he will teach short cuts or eaisier ways of doing problems than we learned in high school.

Has alot of homework, but it's for your own good. Nice, very helpful, will even let you call him at home if you need help. PAY ATTENTION TO HIS STOMPS!! ;)

His teachings can move fast sometimes. I found that he just takes examples from the books and cuts them down. I found the book to be a better teacher than him. His test are short and straight to the point. Takes random hw every week. And a quiz on every friday.

Great Instructor. Very clear and consise. I recommend STRONGLY that you take him and that you take the class that requires internet for the homework...it is helpful and not hard. gives credit...Whatever the matter do take Jones. Listen and go to his office and youll do fine on Test.

This wasn't a bad class, and the professor was very helpful and the lectures were very clear. i did have to withdraw from the class, but that was due to lazyness on my part, and my refusal to seek help since i'm not very good at math in general. i would recommend this class.

Very easy, was 1 of 5 to be expempted from the final for a high average. Very clear, just listen to him and do the homework. Quizes are very easy if you pay attention.

Mr Jones seems intimidating, but he's really a nice guy. Kinda nerdy, but knows the material well. Very eager to help with any questions, if you do the homework and go to class, you shouldnt have too many problems.

He is a great teacher! Just take all the notes and study you'll do great. The final is made up of your old test. If you are having trouble go to his office he is always willing to help you out. He doesn't want you to fail. I highly recommend him.

This guy is really easy if you just practice the work you will get an "A"..Study Previous exams and get an easy "A" test are almost identical just a few numbers switched around!

Awesome teacher! If you haven't taken math in a while take him because he explains it step by step. I found his test to be pretty easy after practicing from book. I would take him!

Great guy. Watch the footstomps. He is blunt at times, but he addresses that to the whole class not individuals. Goes through the problems step by step. Uses attendence to boost final grade if you're on the edge. Take advantage of the provided exercises on the syllabus, they really help.

Very awesome teacher. If you normally have trouble in math, this is the professor for you. Grade comprised of homework, quizzes, and tests. Most definitely recommend taking him!

He is the best professor at UTSA! He will go out of his way to help you, even gives you his home phone number if you need help! He is very honorable and if you do not finish homework in time he will give you the password! He says that if you put in the effort why not help you! TAKE HIM! BEST EVER!

Professor Jones is an excellent teacher with a interesting background. But beware, you can't slide through this course. He has homework and a quiz every week, but in the end this helps you. He gives out his home phone # if you have questions. Top 5 in the class (like me) are exempted from the final.

He is a good teacher. I am horrible in math and I probably should have flunked but still passed somehow with a C. Do all the quizes, hw, and study the problems in the book. Put in effort, and dont freak out @ exam time. Great teacher even though he is a republican.

This class was hard for me cuz I had never taken calculus before. Although at the beginning of the class, he made it easy, towards the end, it got very hard. I think he assumes that everyone always knows what he's talking about. And most of the time it isnt true. 2 of the 3 tests taken so far had a failing class average.

Hard for me, but I suck at math. He was extremely helpful. Without him (and my wife) I think I would have to have taken the class for a 4th time. Great Prof.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. Real helpful. Nice guy. He use to teach in the military so when ever he comes across something thats going to be on the test he stomps his foot. All you got to do mark down in your notes when he stomped and you know that to go over. Great Instructor!

I really didn't enjoy taking this class. I felt that Jones went a little to fast on the material, but he was very helpful when it came to questions on homework after/before class.

Go to class, do the home work on line. You ahve to buy the packet to do the home work on-line. Study for test. If you ahve an A avereage you do nto have to take the final. i made a B.

Class is EZ. The HW u should get a 100 on all of them b/c theyre online u get to do da problems againg until u get em right. Quzzies are 3 problems, if u go to the SI sessions u know what type of problems are on da quiz. Reviews coincide with the tests so DO the review. Also his curve gave me a C (thats cuz i didn't put the effort in the end LOL)

Professor Jones made the class very easy by relating the material to real-life situations and clear lecturing. The homework is all online and very easy with multiple attempts available. He is very helpful in giving students extra help by answering phone calls and allows people to ask questions before class starts. Funny too

Jones is awesome. He explains things until you understand them. He will answer all your questions as long as you ask them. Very helpful & understanding. Homework is easy 100s because you get a week 2 do it and multiple chances to get the right answer. Quiz every week. You can miss 1 or 2. When I took him if you got as low as an 82 he gave you an A

Great Teacher, does EVERYTHING he can to help you pass his course. You can call and talk to him 24/7, though his wife gets mad if you call late. IF YOU CAN TAKE HIM, THEN TAKE HIM!!!

This professor has been by far my favorite. This wasn't an easy class and attendance and effort was very much required but his goal is truly to help you get a grade and understand the subject. His grading system is awesome too. C=B in class. B=A in class... idk how it works but I got a B.. but it requires lots of studying... I'd take him again.

The best math professor I´ve ever had. He gives the class through power points but they are very simple. If you have any problems, it`s very easy to talk to him. He gives 3 tests and quizzes every Friday, but they are very simple. You don`t really need the book, just for review. A very good teacher.

This guy is amazing. He is funny and makes learning math enjoyable. I got an A in his class, but you do have to do your part. Keep up with homework assignments. Show up for the quizzes on Friday. Do practice problems from the notes you take before an exam. This is how I got my A, may work for some may not for all. Take his class you wont regret it.

Professor Jones is one heck of a professor. He is EXTREMELY helpful in your time of need. If you are forced to miss class for personal reasons, he will send you the entire powerpoint lesson if you ask him too. Great guy, very funny, and makes math actully enjoyable to some degree. Regardless, take him.

I had taken college algebra in high school so with this course i never went except on the occasional fridays for quizzes. i had a B on the midterm grade! and thats with FOUR 0's on quizes! Math labs are short and easy! Test are simple and multiple choice!! his grading system is the best!! i think like 73-84 is a B or something!? TAKE HIM!

Excellent calculus instructor, made complex concepts seem simple. Most telling comment- "A mathematician will tell you that's not exactly how it works. I'm not a mathematician, I'm an engineer. That's exactly how it works."

He is really nice! Very helpful and the tests aren't really that hard as long as you pay attention. They are straight from the class notes, I hardly used the textbook and he is extremely helpful!

His lectures are easy to understand,goes over the stuff you are confused on if you ask. All hw and quizzes are on mathlab which are fairly easy.His tests are straight from his notes and he tells you the majority of what will be on the test.I think he curves your grade a few points, so if you have a high B it is considered an A. easy!pay attention!

Prof. Jones is so sweet. He tells you what to expect on tests, you have 10 HW problems, and a 5 question quiz every week online. Not an "easy" class, but he makes it as simple as possible. He really is a nice guy.

Really good professor and is very clear of all the materials you need to study to pass his class. You do need to put some effort in his class but what else do you expect in college. First of all don't get the book. Its useless and expensive and if you have trouble go to the Q lab cause there free. He made math interisting and always had a positive uplifting personality (consedering its math he must really love it to be so happy) The first test I got a 70 and I stepped up my game and made A's on every other test final though 57

He is a great choice for a professor! You do have to come to class if you don't have prior knowledge of the material, but he doesn't take attendance. He will let you call him at home if you need help on your homework and is always there if you need help at all. Plus, if you get a good enough grade, you don't have to take the final - I didn't! :)

great professor, I came into class barely comprehending algebra and was able to make A's and B's on almost everything after about a month or 2. grades an an awesome curve 86 and up is an A something like a 76 is a B, definitley recomend

If you have taken algebra and/or precalc before taking this class or you are good at math then it is really easy. You do not need to go to class and everything is online. The homework and quizzes prepare you enough for the tests so you don't need to study a lot. Exams are only 20 questions each. If you aren't good at math attend class!

This teacher is not someone you want to take when you hate math or just isnt your subject. I am not good with math and I feel like I didnt learn anything he only does two to three question and then thinks you should know it. Yes his test are short but when you dont understand or do good then you are screwed. You have a quiz/homework every week.

My experience with calculus in high school was god awful. I was apprehensive about this class but it completely changed my perspective and I honestly learned a lot while enjoying myself. I highly recommend him, he's quite energetic for his age and easy to understand. He works a lot of examples which helped me grasp concepts quicker. He's great.

I LOVE Prof. Jones! He's super nice and approachable! The materiel does get hard, but he doesn't mind slowing down or going back. He's always available for help! Go to class, cause he goes over everything! Do your homework and quizzes, they help! I hate math but I loved his class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

He is very nice. Different teaching style but has multiple choice tests and my math lab so easy grades in my opinion. No graphing calculator needed and Don't even bother buying the book. All in all he really isnt that bad. I'm not good in math and I made a B B/C he curves.

Math is not my subject but I was able to pass with a C. He curves significantly. He is very helpful and lets you call him anytime or will meet during office hours. He goes a tad bit fast so sometimes while doing problems so you really have to pay attention. He wants every one to do well. Did have to put some extra effort in as far as studying.

Great Prof! Take him for an easy A! He's not a mathematician so his lectures are basically a piece of cake. He gives easy tests but you do have to study a little, I mean if there's still complaints why are you here in college? If you ever take MAT 1033 take him whether you're a freshman of sophomore! It HELPED my GPA ALOT!

He seemed interested in the subject which helps, kind of got annoyed easily especially if people didn't answer questions out loud. Gave his phone number in case anyone needed help with the online homework. Online homework every week. Biggest flaw was sharing his political views in class, it was actually really annoying. Didn't use book at all

He is always happy/eager to help and he is really nice! Quizzes are all online and very easy and exams are really simple multiple choice. He reviews for every exam and goes over exams once they're graded to see what we missed and how to fix it.

He's a really good teacher and will help if you ask for it. Don't miss tests and make sure you take all of the online quizzes and do all of the homework assignments! It's a huge help to your grade. The tests are hard.

Homework and quizzes are online, very easy. He gives you enough time to do both and willing to help you out if needed. His tests are honestly not that hard, I got A's on 2/3. Actually try to attend class, he will explain everything.

Professor Jones is a great professor! I would definitely take him again. Students really liked him and respected him. His lectures get long after a while but are easy to understand if you actually go over them and practice on your own. Attendance isn't mandatory but I would strongly advise you not to skip because tests are based on lecture problems
