He is very unclear, will not be specific enough about exams. Material could be a sentence at bottom of page. I took him twice, you have to be a poli sci freak to A his course.

Its amazing that FCC would hire him full time. Hes more like an adjunct, dumb and not as quick as real political science professors. Hes not well read in the ancient political philsophy and his thougts are immature in nature.

This class SUCKS! I dont think that joking about intentionally misgrading students papers is something that should be joked about by anyone, especially a teacher. In addition to that he is soooooo boring, and no that is not an exaggeration. Make it interesting and maybe we could all stay awake in your class for once.

Horrible teacher. Lectures terribly, very vague and confusing. Test questions almost always have more than one correct answer, leave you to pick just one. He's a jerk. Often grades his tests incorrectly to make you go to his office and check to see if you'll catch the "mistake." I passed the AP Gov exam, and his class was just horrible.

He is the absolute worst teacher ever. He not only has a short man complex but also one for teaching at a community college. His intention is to get you to join his organization for extra cerdit not teach poli sci. He is a jackass, unclear, rude and NOT FUNNY at all. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

I never knew that such a little prick like this guy could pack such a big EGO! Don't waste your time & GPA. Class and material is confusing. The required books assume you have a Masters in English to read and understand them. Tests/ Quizzes are NOT straight forward. Acts and talks like a JANITOR who thinks he owns the building!

This class was EXTREMELY hard. Many quizzes in this class that are impossible to prepare for. Lectures are vague but test material is very specific. Don't take this class if you don't have to. If you do, good luck, you'll need it!

He teaches at a university level..He's knows his stuff, this class is perfect for the Political science major..I personally don't like the subject, but passed with a B..He's a jerk...He talks down on you when you ask him a question..The quizes are worth more then the tests..So make sure you get at many points as possible.

He gives very unclear lectures. Ask him to clarify a very simple problem, instead tells you to find the answer yourself. After doing so and was trying to point out a potential mistake he made. I did well in his class, but that is on my own merit. You can pass the class, but it wont be cuz of him . I spend more time than doing calc2

His tests are hard, there were people that cried during his tests. Forbid that you ever ask a question cause he'll just say figure it out yourself. Half the stuff he made us study wasn't even on his long tests. Class went from 40 students to 7 students real quick. Don't take him as a professor. Your welcome.

Can honestly say one of the hardest instructor. No a bad person just very difficult and moves fast so if you don't know much about polisci or have failed before this instructor isn't for you.

Worst teacher ever. Posted final grades online & half the class received D's and F's. Putting study time in & ETC sessions won't help b/c he makes up questions that aren't even in the chapter or lecture. Has a childish rule about not letting late students sit as its "distracting", but stopping class to address this issue is more distracting imo.

Literally my 2nd day taking this class &I hate it! Supposed to be a short term class but the workload is the same as a regular semester class; quizzes all the time, like 3 midterms &a final exam. Lecture is vague. None of the in class lecture goes with the books or quizzes. Hes got a BIG ego! He's very rude to students.

Interesting class, but Joseph made each day an exercise in pain. Readings and lectures are independent of each other, and he makes no real effort to synthesize them for the class' benefit yet he tests on the specifics of both. His sense of humor is cringeworthy, and you can forget about trying to reason with him. Pompous, longwinded, tangential.

Get ready for a quiz a week at least. Gives 3 midterms and a final. Wants you to purchase 3 textbooks that cost $200+. Hardest grader I have ever had personally. Will give you one extra credit opportunity but grades it like its your masters thesis paper. Felt like he thinks he's teaching at Stanford University. I recommend you don't take his class

His lectures are good and he knows what he's talking about (And he's politically unbiased, which is amazing considering how other teachers are), but the questions he gives out on quizzes and tests are so pedantic and often obscure, it's like he assumes you have no life outside of his class. He wants you to buy 3 books, each at $200. I'd avoid him.

He knows his stuff when it comes to political science, but he's so focused on trivial details that he loses sight of the bigger picture. He tries to do things in his own "special and unique" way, which is actually just makes things more complicated than it needs to be. Frankly, I think he's an idiot who happens to be good at memorizing information.

His class is extremely extremely difficult, he's definitely under the impression that his class is the only class you are taking. We took pop quizzes almost everyday, and tests every week. If you like a challenge than this class is for you!

You basically have to crack a code before you can figure out how to prepare for tests, and until you figure it out you will never know what to actually study for. The online homework often has nothing to do with what we're actually being tested on, so it's mostly useless. Going to ETC therefore mandatory if you want to pass. Steer clear of Joseph.

If there aren't any other professors with open seats in their class, wait until next semester and try again. I'm normally an A/B student but even with studying notes from every class, I did not pass. Everything I learned about Political Science that semester was from going to all of the tutor sessions where I learned what I should've from lecture.

This is the worst professor I have ever had. He is incredibly full of himself and takes every opportunity to remind you that he has a doctorate and youre at a community college. I walked extra slow in the crosswalk hoping someone would hit me so I wouldnt have to go to his class.

I took him one semester, going into his class I was a Political Science major leaving I changed my major. He might tell you its because you did not try, I literally took the same class different teacher so much better now. If you don't like crying at night because of class work don't take his class.

Listen, hes amazing when it comes to his knowledge level, but hes really hard to keep up with. If you are taking this class be cautious of your time management (dont take many more classes if you are taking his course. Too time consuming) and you will constantly be working. MULTIPLE MIDTERMS AND MANY QUIZES. Written responses, fill in questions.

This class is a lot of work and what you would expect in an upper division political science class. He fails to realize that the majority of us are not political science majors and are simply taking the class for GE creds. The workload is excessive and he incorporates his own philosophies into the lectures to make sure you watch. Lots of quizzes.

Do NOT take this man's class. He is careless, has no sympathy whatsoever, makes corny jokes, and does his best to make his class that much harder. I watched lecture videos and took notes but somehow still failed the quizzes that were supposed to be based on the lecture right after. I would not recommend.

Rude. Will tell you need to ask for your grade and when you do he replies in rude ways and doesn’t help you at all. Lectures are long and if you literally don’t write down everything he says your chances of failing the midterms are at high stake. You need to dedicate a good 3 hours a day for this class cause if you do not you will not pass.

If your trying to email him I'll take him a long time to respond to your questions. I've email him many times over the semester and it takes him about 5 days to respond back to you and even if he dose respond back he'll just tells you to go back to the intentions and read it again and doesn't even tries to help you.

honestly such a rude professor at times. i would ask things and get a rude response and something like "go back and read the instructions, it is not my responsibility to tell you what it is that you need to do on your essay." i understand that we are college students and full grown adults as well but he is also our teacher and that is his job. dont

I've had this professor for two classes. He's very knowledgeable. It's a shame his character ruins all that he has to teach. We discussed a specific on an extra credit assignment at an office hour and he later denied that we had that discussion. Not only is he a tough grader, but he's petty. Avoid his course if possible or get on his good side.

Avoid this professor's course if possible. He's knowledgeable but his harsh grading and petty behavior can ruin the learning experience. Try using unstuck study AI and other study resources to stay on top of the material.
