Awesome professor. Always explain the business world and laws in a way that attracts his student and make sure it is well convey. He always smile and make class fun, which is great because energetic professor like this can't be found at SCSU much. He also had good videos that explain how a lawsuit work when one is sue or breach of contracts.

I took BLAW at another campus but it didn't transfer so I had to retake. I was absolutely dreading retaking it of the horrible experience I had in the past. Dreading it as much as retaking Statistics. Professor Lange totally changed my attitude on the subject. Each class is fun AND informative. You will retain loads of practical information.

This is an awesome class mainly because professor Lange actually knows what he is talking about unlike some teachers at St. Cloud State. He also makes it fun to go to class by involving everyone in his lectures. I would highly recommend people to take this class.

This is a class that you feel bad for missing. His lectures are up-to-date with current topics and hilarious. Approachable teacher that is actually there to teach instead of for the money. Tests are straight out of the book so make sure you get it ($7 online) and read the cases because he grades on participation.

He picks on students who don't participate so if you don't want to be picked on PARTICIPATE! Professor Lange was one of my favorite professors in college. He made our classes interesting and engaged the whole class. I walked away with a lot more knowledge and understanding of Business Law then when I walked in. He gave real life examples which made it much easier to understand and relate to.

If you have the chance, definitely take James Lange! He uses real life examples and makes complicated law issues understandable. Participation does count, and you should definitely read the case studies. Minimal to no homework, grade based off of attendance, participation, and exam scores.

This was my second class with Lange. He is unorthodox but effective in his teaching style. He won't sit and lecture at you, he makes the class interactive and uses current real world examples.

Lange is a great professor who uses a lot of current events and personal stories to make marketing law relatable. He says you need to buy the textbook but I have not opened it up once, so don't waste your money. Overall this course is fairly easy with a six page paper, which he gives you a lot of time to do.

It's almost like he understands marketing better than most of the marketing department. Literally the only professor that designed curriculum for the realistic college student. Its easy to pay attention and learn when the lecturer keeps things interesting. Take this class.

The class was basically graded off of two things, 1) a 5 page midterm and 2) attendance. If everybody in the class shows up and write good midterms, the final will be small. Great professor who grades you based on attendance a 5 page business ethic paper and a small final. You will need the book if he decides to give you class a take out home final which is over 150 questions but as long as you participate and show him your learning he will sub the final for an easier one

This is a great professor to take if your are taking BLAW. He is a lenient grader and gives great feedback when you ask for it. Participation matters in this class but he gives you a lot of chances to earn those points. Honors BLAW 235 covers topics that may be difficult to understand at first, but Professor Lange explains nearly everything using real-life examples, making the concepts much easier to grasp. He takes the time to recognize the individual needs and strengths of the students, and modifies his teaching style to push each student for success.

Professor Lange explains concepts well and teaches the material in an engaging manner. Read the weekly material. Knowing it makes the class time much more enjoyable. Don't skip class!

30 discussion posts (gives you multiple topics each week, need to do 2 a week but technically not all due until the end of the semester), one paper (4 pages then citations) and one exam (you will need the textbook to do the exam). THE BEST PROFESSOR! WOULD TAKE AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT (but I'm graduating so I can't!).

Absolutely loved him in my BLAW 235! One of the best teachers I've had from the past 2 years, and the only one I've actually gone on here to rate lol. He doesn't act like a grumpy old professor, he's really chill and relatable. Even though I never met him in person, he was fantastic.

He is so fun to listen to even at 11am. He has funny stories, a fun personality, and if you show up and do the work (which isn't much) you can pass. His quizzes are open book and there is no way you cant enjoy and pass this class. He is very knowledgeable and has a large background in majors and minors. He will pick on you from time to time.

Took this course online, so I cant speak much about how he is in person -- thanks covid. I took his course online and it was such an easy A. He gave great feedback and was always willing to help. All quiz answers are on quizlet so don't bother buying the book. Not really any homework, just weekly quizzes and discussions. Fun and interesting class.

We had two papers about 4 pages due during the semester and weekly discussion posts to do. There was also a big test for the midterm as the final. Lange is great, he provided lots of good feedback on my papers and had a great sense of humor. The discussion posts had lots of current examples which were interesting to read and discuss.

There is 2 large papers, weekly discussions that have good topics and not the basic college discussion post boring topics, and some online course work that is worked into the online book that is really easy. James is a really helpful professor who goes out of his way to make sure you understand the class. Willing to get on the phone and talk.

First class I've taken asynchronously. Prof. Lange made it easy for me to stay on track and kept the class engaged with cool topics for discussion posts. He makes it very clear how to get an A in the class.

Professor Lange is an amazing professor and person. He tells many stories and personal experiences from his work as a lawyer to tie into the lessons we learn in class. Homework and quizzes arent bad at all and you only have about 1-2 easy papers. Highly recommend taking a course with this process if you want a chill lecture environment.

Online asynchronus, so pretty much did the book assignments, wrote a paper, and 4 open-book tests. If you take it online, you don't have to read the powerpoints. Makes jokes in his content and D2L posts, which is great! Wish I was a BLAW major just so I could take his classes again.

Mr. Lange is a great teacher. His lectures are very light, educative, and humorous. He'll make you smile even if you come to class tired. He'll berate you if you are a latecomer to class, but he won't hold it against you. Participate decently in class and you'll pass exceptionally well. There were assignments, papers(easy as long as you put in some effort), and discussion posts. He gives great examples and cares a lot about his students. If you don't show up to class it is your own fault for the grade you receive. He understands that we are accounting students, and he does not make this a difficult class.

Professor Lange was a fabulous professor for BLAW 235. The course was very easy to complete, with a lot of clear instructions given out at the beginning of the year. Most of it was a self-paced course, but he made sure to keep us on track to get everything done. Overall, great professor and a great course!

Fantastic professor for a fantastic course. It is a self paced class, with most of the work being small homework assignments and discussion posts. Four exams through the semester, and one paper.

Second course taken with Prof. Lange. His classes are very straightforward with minimal assignments beyond weekly quizzes and discussions. Two papers make this class manageable and digestable as a law course.

Tests were pretty easy if you looked at the material on MindTap. Also, make sure on Mindtap assignments that you only do the ones with a due date. You don't have to do any of the others even if they say "Counts towards grade". We had to do about two discussion posts a week that were very easy to complete. Overall, it was a really good class.

Professor Lang, is awesome not only does his lectures keep you engaged but also the way he presents material sticks with you well beyond taking the class!

Professor Lange was an amazing professor. He taught in a way that was very unique, and because he is an attorney as well he helped you understand concepts by using his real life examples. He made it very easy to learn and was big on helping you actually understand the concepts, so there was very little homework it was mostly just lectures.

He's really helpful and approachable. If you do what is expected, you will do well in the class. He gave a lot of time for assignments, exams and discussions to be completed. He's a very interesting individual who made the class interesting, but not in a boring way. I would take him again if I could.

As a procrastinator it was a little tough to get everything done in a timely manner and he does not accept any late work, with that being said, the class is great and easy but definitely don't procrastinate because that will make it tough. Don't wait until the last minute to complete assignments, and try to work ahead on assignments and discussions, because he doesn't accept late work. Don't lose the name tag you get at the begining of the semester, you can get another one, but he will call you out about losing it. Will find the shy/timid students and target them whenever possible.

I really enjoyed taking Professor Lange's class! It was simple, and I could easily get the homework/studying done over one weekend each month. There are a lot of discussion posts but only one paper, so it wasn't too hard. I would definitely recommend anyone who needs/wants to take BLAW to have him as your professor.

This professor makes the class really easy. Each week you do some reading then take a quiz that is laid back and allows you to check your work before you submit. Then there is discussion, which just requires two simple posts per week. Lastly, there is a D2L quiz on all the homework you did which is basically just the quiz questions. Easy A.

Prof. James Lange had fantastic lectures. I recommend taking him in person since you will learn lots of life skills among other things. The main graded materials came from an online textbook and MindTaps which are short quizzes that allowed you to check your work. This guy is a very fun teacher, he gives equal shit to everyone in a way that says he cares, but that he also is serious. He is very knowledgeable and will not be afraid to challenge your perspective and ideas when it comes to law and pop-culture references to our political landscape.

I would take another class with him in a heartbeat if I could. I feel like the classes you take as a business major become repetitive and boring but this class was new and awesome. It made me think of things differently and made me use my brain in ways I haven't in a while. Half the grade is 2 5 page papers, 25% mind tap and 25% discussion posts.
