Professor Mess is simply a great teacher. He definatly takes an interest in how well his students are doing in class. He is a posative person who never makes you feel your questions are stupid. He will go over everything you need to know in order to do well on his quizzes and tests. Do the homework to learn but you don't have to hand it in.

Nice as can be and really cares about his student's grades and learning. Would recommend him to ease the pain if you are unfortunate enough to have to take a math course.

Prof Mess is an excellent teacher. Absolutly helpful to everyone. I could have done better in the class (no fault of his), but he was there every step of the way when I needed help. Alowed me to make up a test I missed *after* the final. I think he just wants us to learn the material any way we could. Thanks professor for seeing the BIG picture!

He has a real talent for teaching, connecting well with students and always willing to help. Also, he's a very down to Earth guy and pleasant to talk to. I'm no math-whiz to say the least, but I walked out with a B in the class and I am quite satisfied. I just wish AACC would let him teach Calculus.

He is the best math teacher! I'm upset b/c I cant get him this fall. He is like a very smart college kid! He is very laid back. The tests are easy (as easy as a math test can get). He let me make up tests after I took the final so that I could pass. He is very helpful. A couple times he stayed up to 45 min after class answering questions.

The best Math teacher I have ever had. He gives lots of examples and makes sure you understand the material. People feel very comfortable asking questions. The class wasn't easy but it seems that way, because you learn it. No surprises either, you know exactly when things are due, what's on the tests, etc. He truly wants you to do well.

This man is nutz but the good kind. He lives and loves math and he makes sure you do the same. He will help you with every problem and do his problem sets they are very similar to the actual tests. Professor Messenger is an amazing professor! I took Busi Calc online and I'm not a math person at all initally I was very worried about passing. Prof M goes above and beyond by uploading videos of him doing problems and the way he organzied the class made it very simple. He also provided practice tests which were very similar to the tests.

Take his class if you can!!!He goes over everything to and really makes sure you understand it.Even if you haven't taken a math class in a while or had a crappy MAT012 professor, like I had, theres no way you can't pass.

Mr. Messenger is the only math teacher I have ever had who really wants to make sure you know the info. Any questions you have he will answer with examples. He also has a great energy for the subject which keeps it interesting. Math is not my subject, but he was so helpful that I am waiting until he teaches the College Algebra course.

Great professor! I made sure that I signed up for his class next semester. He makes problems very easy to understand, which is very important. He makes sure you have a list of problems to practice that are like the ones he gives on the quizes and tests, it was so helpful! Class flew by because he actaully made it enjoyable.

Great teacher! Grade is based only on 4 exams plus the final exam, if you do bad one one test it will bring your grade down at least a full letter grade. He does explain things very well and gives lots of examples and will explain a problem as many times as needed until you understand. Definitely recommend him!

This guy is one of the greatest professors at AACC! He explains and teaches the lessons in ways that are so easy to understand. Professor Messenger works hard to make sure that all students understand math. He attempts to make it fun because he understands that everyone is not as interested as he might be. took class during winter break so it was fastpaced yet he made it GREAT. He had videos he recorded explaining EVERY concept! I emailed him saying I was confused where we take the tests..he replied explaining how AND said "although the test was due last week, I'll give you til Monday". SO HELPFUL but u defintely need 2 dedicate time 2 doin his work!

This professor is very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He's always willing to help students, no matter how dumb the question may be. His grading is fair, and he offers many resources prior to exams rather than just leaving students to study alone. He even has a youtube page with lectures for online students or those who need to review.

I think he is an amazing teacher. I have taken 3 different math classes with him and I can't get over how good of a teacher he is. He wasn't available for one of the courses I had to take so I took that course with another professor and I was extremely disappointed. He makes it his priority to make sure you pass. AMAZING PROFESSOR

Class was awesome! I was apprehensive about taking the class, but needed to rebuild my understanding from being out of math for over a decade. He not only made math interesting, but presented it in such a way, I was able to understand the concepts easily. I would highly recommend him to anyone and I am stalking his classes to get him again.

Awesome professor. Willing to help you with anything you need to understand. Takes a real interest in students and their success. The homework isn't mandatory but will definitely help with the harder concepts.

Literally the best math teacher in this world. He want you to do well and focuses the lectures on the tests and exams. All you have to do succeed is review and rewrite your notes before a test or quiz because they are the problems that will be on the text Quiz.

I was dreading Calculus before I took Prof Messenger's class. I have nothing but good things to say about him! He makes even the hardest concepts clearer somehow, & he never makes you feel stupid for asking to explain again. He truly loves what he does which helps a lot! He is the best math teacher at AACC!!! I had him for College Algebra and I took the class over the winter 2014 semester online (a 2 week course). Watching the videos that he posted online made me feel like I was actually in the classroom with him. He explained things in great detail and is there for you if you don't understand a topic.

Took the class online. He uses Web Assign for HW and Quiz. His material is very well organized and he answers email really quick. If you work the HW and Quiz questions inside & out the test will be much easier. Tough subject but hard work is rewarded by him. I was sad to learn that he will not be teaching MAT-192 next semester. Thought Stats would be hard until I took his class. He makes the concepts and formulas easy to understand. No surprises on the tests . If you do your part by attending lectures, doing the assigned homework and practicing the formulas, you will pass the class without any stress. Available to answer your questions via email or office hours.

I took Prof Messenger as an Online class. You have a HW, Quiz, and Test due every 2.5 weeks. They are lengthy but if you manage your time, it is very easy to handle. Prof. Messenger was easily the best and most helpful professor I have had thus far. So incredibly helpful & WANTS you to pass. It would be a mistake to NOT take his class!

Professor Messenger uses funny acronyms and stories to make learning calculus fun and help the class remember the information. If you pay attention and do his recommended homework, you will be fine. I would definitely take another class one of his classes.

Professor Messenger is an exceptional teacher. I was extremely skeptical of taking an online math course, but he made it almost easy. This class is NOT for the "math deficient"; you WILL have to teach yourself some concepts. If you have an above average understanding, you'll do fine. His tests are precisely like his practice ones, you can't fail.

Probably a rare gem for AACC. Had him for Calc 1 and Stat. I am so happy that he is teaching Calc 3 in the future. I wish I had him for Calc 2. Now a days, he also puts his video lecture on Canvas, which are very helpful to go back and look into for clearing any confusion.

HE is a wonderful professor! However, there is a lot of work that needs to be completed. I took the online class and watched his lectures. If you do two sections a day you will do fine! I would highly recommend him. He replies to emails very quickly.

Ive never been great at math. I took the same Stat class with a different professor in the spring and failed. I retook it in the summer with Messenger, he was able to break down every problem and explain anything a student asked. I always barely passed math classes, but he makes it so easy to understand and encourages students to ask for help

Does a really good job of making the simplifying the material and making it understandable. Lectures are interesting and to the point, and he is willing to stay after class to help answer any questions you may have. I took this class accelerated so the only grades were 5 tests and the final. Only need the textbook for optional practice questions.

Great professor. Took this class in the spring with another professor and ended up withdrawing from it. And when I took it int he summer I passed with an A. Show up to class and pay attention during the lectures. He's also really good about answering confusing questions. And honestly just do the practice set and you will get an A on the tests.

Hands down the best math teacher I've ever had. He understands what he's teaching and he's really good at explaining it. Tests are all based on the problems he goes over as examples in class, unlike some teachers who put stuff on tests that they never covered . I have three more math courses to take, and sadly he's not teaching any of them.

I am not very good at math, and there was no way I could do an online math class, but I just didn't have other option at the time, thank goodness for his videos! Watch his videos, practice his tests, and you will succeed!

I definitely recommend taking a class with Mr. Messenger if you can. He is such a good professor, he's very kind to his students, he's funny, and he loves what he teaches. This is one of my favorite professors. He is very helpful when you don't understand something. He gives study guides for every test and quiz. Make sure you have a calculator! It will make your life easier!

Very straight forward teacher and definitely knows what he is talking about. Probably one of the smartest math teachers i have ever meant. The only grades you get are tests and quizzes but if you listen to the lectures and study the guides the tests are pretty much the same.

I am extremely happy with my decision to take Calc with Professor Messenger. I took it online and watched every lecture video there was. He explains concepts very well and I felt that I had a good understanding. I would've liked to have review guides but other than that highly recommend!

There's a lot of formula's to remember and it can be overwhelming. If you haven't seen x's and y's in a long time and haven't worked a t1-83 or 84 calculator, don't worry. Professor Messenger teaches in a way that helps you to understand the material. He wants you to succeed and will prepare you for exams and tests. Extremely knowledgeable!

Prof. Messenger is awesome! His lectures are great and answers each and every question. He makes sure everyone is understanding the topic. No textbook use or homework. His practice sets are almost identical to the tests. Total grade includes 4 tests which make up 67% and the final is 33%. Do NOT miss the opportunity to take a class with Messenger.

I took the class online over the summer, as well as another class, and thanks to his videos I was able to get started on the material well before the class started. He explains things very simply and his test questions are exactly like the practice problems from the book, which is beneficial since 80% of your grade is the tests and final exam.

Explains things in fun & imaginative ways, always willing to answer questions, describes real-life applications for things. If you want to really learn & know math, Prof Messenger is your guy!

He is the best professor I have ever had. I took him for a 8 weeks summer course and it was alot of work. He isnt all stuck up, he's a down to earth dude . He teaches multiple methods to solve every problem like excel, TI-83/84, and by hand. He tells you what is relevant to everyday life and what is not. I actually use statistics now. He's the best

Have been learning Calc 1 through his videos though i'm not his student. Like how he simplifies things and is positive and encouraging. Doesn't make you feel bad if you've forgotten things from pre cal. will prolly teach myself cal 2 and 3 w the vids.

Fantastic lectures. Doesn't convolute the principles with book jargon. The method in which he explains things, too, is almost exactly what he tests too. His online course is awesome, as all of his lectures and course materials are very well organized on CANVAS. If you do the Problem Sets and study you will do great.

Professor Messenger is 100% one of the top teachers i have had at this school. Best math teacher i've had, he cares about everyone doing well, and will go the extra effort for you to do well. Professor Messenger was my favorite teacher by far. He is the best at what he does, and for some people math might not be your favorite subject, but he makes you want to become a Math Major after a semester of his class. He makes time for you, and makes sure you understand every step in every equation. If you're stuck he will start all over! :))

If you have the option to take any math with him, TAKE IT. I recommend him to anyone I know who has to take a math. I would say I am average at math but ended up gettin a B in an online calc class with him!! Even though I never met him, through watching videos of his lectures I felt as though I had! He explains everything clearly and is so helpful.

I took Calc 1, over the summer, and Calc 2 in the fall, both online with Professor Messenger. He makes everything seem so easy and simple that it makes it very easy to grasp the concepts. 80% of the grade was from tests, so you don't get bogged down with extra work. My only complaint would be that he doesn't return graded tests.

Professor Messenger is absolutely amazing! I had him for College Algebra and he's hands down the best math professor at AACC. I took Professor Messenger during the winter semester for College algebra. I was a little scared at first because it was such a small semester. It turns out that if you use all the thing he gives you, practice tests, youtube videos, and detailed explanations, you will no doubt do well in this class. Professor Messenger is an outstanding Professor.

I had Prof Messenger for College Algebra, his lectures are amazing and he's always there when you need help. The lectures he gives are clear and easy to learn from.

Great professor. He explains things in a way that make perfect sense and he also posts lectures online to refer to. I got the required textbook but never used it, although some classmates did, so I think it's all up to personal preference and learning style. The practice problems he gives are much better than the textbook ones.

I took this as a 6 week summer class and it was hands down the best math class and best math professor I've ever had! To get an A on the tests just do the practice sets he gives, as they are replicas of the tests. If you want more practice he gives textbook problems and is willing to go over any problem again, no questions asked. Take Messenger!

Took this class over the summer as a hybrid. Best professor ive ever had. His videos were crystal clear and so were his lectures. ALOT of effort needs to be put into studying. But if you show him that you care he will care about you and make sure you have an understanding of the topic. Very easy to access out of class.

Well laid out. Need to put study time in but the objectives are clear so I have never felt like I have studied the wrong thing. Took 5 tests and a final in a six week calc2 course, it was intense. Tests and final count, quizzes a little, and homework almost not at all. Use quizzes as study guides for tests.

I took Professor Messenger's online Calculus II class, nearly 10 years since I took Calc I. So I appreciated the clarity, passion, and even humor the professor brought to his online lectures -- all of which are pre-recorded for you to go at your own speed. Runs a great online class! Syllabus with due dates is super easy to follow. I had him for a 15 week class &amp; every week you have 2-3 sections of a chapter to learn, complete homework on, &amp; take a quiz. There are 3 major tests &amp; 1 final to be taken at Testing Center. As long as you keep up then this class is fairly easy. He also responds quickly.

Prof. Messenger is an amazing guy. I know a lot of my friends had a hard time with stat but he made it a breeze! He is passionate about math and makes class fun. His practice sets are almost identical to the tests. If you email him a question about homework, he will answer within 10 minutes. I will definitely look for him if I ever take math again

His videos are on point and made it extremely easy to understand. Majority of the grade was through tests but he is very responsive and gives plenty of examples to work and test prep questions to be ready for each test. The things I couldnt grasp and needed easier explanation were very few and YouTube was able to help with those.

Statistics was completely new to me. He goes out of his way to explain it clearly. Has lots of patience with questions. I needed to do all the practice examples in the textbook that he told us to do. I did them at least twice each to help me really understand. Prof stays late after class if you need. Sees me on campus and he remembers my name! Cool

The online calculus courses recorded by Professor Messenger are amazing. Works through steps at a pace that gives time for it to sink in. Maybe not completely thorough but definitely gives you the tools to earn your grade. Will help you if you're stuck just by sending a photo of your problem. This coupled with tutoring labs will make a great time.

Good playlist of recorded lectures on YouTube. he doesn't go into too much detail about theory or application; he just shows you how to do the homework problems and textbook problems. It's necessary to read the book for a good understanding of Calculus, but not necessary to get an A in the class. Easiest problems on exams, but exams weigh the most.

James Messenger is easily the best professor I've ever had. I took a course w him 3 years ago and I'm still reeling by how amazing he is. I've never been so inspired to love math. I failed calc 2 at my uni and i didn't even think it was possible for my lizard brain to learn integrals. fear no more, if you have this this guy, you have a chance

He was a really good teacher, I took him for Calculus 3 and obviously that was not going to be easy. But, he had very good lecture videos with good examples to comprehend. The practice problems helped a lot. I almost thought about dropping the class but he convinced me not to and worked with me on everything, and I am so grateful to say I got a B!

I took prof Messenger online for MAT145 and I thought he was fair. He has YouTube videos he posts that break things down enough for most concepts to the point I didn't need to consult him directly much. The few times I did have to reach out to him, he responded in a timely manner and seemed to care about his students.

I would NOT recommend taking an online summer course with him, however I am taking this class again to get a better grade so hopefully he's better in person.

Fell behind at the start, but his line up of surface-level yet concise supplemental breakdown videos allowed me to pick up faster and more intuitive ways of solving given assignment problems. Enough to not fail. In the end, I did better than expected given the circumstances. Really respect his style and structure. Highly recommend.

Great professor! Has easy to follow lecture videos that show you how to complete homework problems. One quiz per module that prepares you for the 5 tests. Take the quizzes seriously so you do well on tests as they basically have the same questions. Gives a lot of partial credit if you show work along the way. Recommend this professor to anyone!

I was scared to take an online math course because it isn't my strongest subject but he made learning super easy with the videos he provides. The 15 week online course doesn't have homework due every week, instead a big mylabmath homework once a month. It helps with focusing on the modules for the week. Definitely recommend him!

As someone with ADHD, Mr. Messenger is the best professor I have ever had. He pays so much attention to everyone's success and is so kind and patient, and he structures his lessons around the most strange and difficult problems, and walks you every step of the way through so that you'll have an even easier time with the easy ones. He posted learning materials for people of all learning types, such as videos of concepts, worksheets with videos, and practice tests, and utilized the myLab math homework and textbook. He graded easily on tests, and responded to all emails very quickly.

One of the best teachers I've had. He is always available to respond to any questions a student may have, gives amazing feedback, and is also very willing to work with students. He always made sure to go over the hardest problems which is extremely helpful. His teaching style was very focused and made everything very easy to understand.

Prof. Messenger helped me pass Calc 1 and 2. He is available to assist you with any math problems you have and he knows his topic well! His personality is kind and humorous. In addition, if you are struggling, he finds ways to help you understand. I definitely recommend him to anyone taking math :)

One of the best professors for an online math course. He provides you with worksheets he goes over during classes, records the meeting, and posts it as well. He also has a YouTube channel which he tags for extra help if needed. Great Professor and is extremely responsive.

Best math professor I've ever had. Responds quickly to emails and graded tests in less than a day. He has a youtube channel with easy to understand lectures that will help you learn everything in the course. Tests and the final were 80% of the grade but were so easy to prepare for thanks to the practice quizzes that covered all content on the tests

Professor Messenger is one of the greatest math teachers I have ever had. His lectures are very clear and teach you everything you know. His tests are also easy because they are very similar to the quizzes you take. The homework was on Webassign, but you have unlimited attempts per question. 10/10 professor

Wow. Absolutely INCREDIBLE professor. He treats math like a child treats a present on christmas morning, making it so much more enjoyable for the student. The only time I saw him in person, he asked me questions about myself and was genuinely interested in what I had to say, despite being busy at the time. YOU ARE MISSING OUT IF YOU DON'T TAKE HIM!

He was actually the best. Super helpful, very very friendly, very nice, and was overall an amazing teacher. He made harder concepts seem easy and I learned a lot in his class! By far my favorite professor!

AWESOME! - 4 HW assignments total (online) - 4 quizzes total (online) - 5 tests including final (in person) - 2-4 weeks to watch previous recorded lecture videos (extremely helpful) and do the quiz and HW before test - gives example tests before the actual test (same questions just different numbers so y you know exactly what to expect)

Even though I only got a C in his class it's to no fault of his I just suck at math. he does a great job explaining and doesn't assume you already know what he's talking about shows you two different ways to solve the problem sometimes even 3. He also shows you exactly how to do it on the calculator. grades fast and answers emails almost instantly.

Took Calc II asynchronously over the summer after doing Calc I at my college in person and it felt a lot easier thanks to Prof Messenger. The recorded lectures were very good and the workload was large but fair. Exams weren't too bad and were often some of the easier problem types. Would highly recommend to both AACC and non AACC students.

Professor Messenger is great! Even though math isn't my strong suit, his clear explanations and helpful resources like unstuckstudy ai made the course manageable. Definitely recommend this class!

He is hands down the best Math professor I've ever had. His lectures are incredibly engaging and he makes the toughest topics comprehensible. If he taught Differential Equations, I would have taken it with him instead of with the professor I have now. His class lets you learn Calc 2 proficiently without any added stress. The homeworks have infinite attempts and quizzes have 2 attempts per question. The quizzes are just like the homeworks and the exams are just like the quizzes.

What a great professor

Best math teacher I have EVER had. Extremely understanding if any circumstances come up and you need a few extra days. Responds insanely fast, and is alwaysss willing to help you when needed. I wish he was my teacher for every course out there lol.

Professor Myers might be the best professor I've ever had. His lectures just make sense. I took him for Calc I online and excelled solely because of his lectures on YouTube. I have a different professor for Calc II but still use his videos. He responds to emails. His homework have unlimited tries on WebAssign so you can actually learn. 10/10.

Mr. Messenger is a gift to students who have a hard time at math. I had a D in this class and had to retake it. I have an A now and will probably have an A+ after the final. I'm so grateful that I got him as a teacher. You can see he truly has a passion for teaching and helping students actually KNOW what they're doing.

During this semster, Professer Messenger was understanding and helpful. He makes office hours if you have questions about the material that's being given. If you're taking math, He's the best instructor to pick. He understands that math isn't for everyone and will help you along the way to pass.

Totally online class so not much to say on personality. Workload was fair and he was easy to get in touch with.

He's such a nice professor and teaches in a perfect way for me. He does everything by the book teaching wise and grades fairly. Homework is done with MyLab Math and has a lot of questions but is simple to do because the lectures match the homework in order. He's funny and personable. I would recommend his class.

The course consisted of five homework each with questions ranging 26 - 72, four quizzes (online and it was not timed), four test (in person) and one final exam (in person). For someone who has never done calculus before, must start early and keep on practice the quizzes and sample test questions, you will success in the tests and the final exam.

I have always hated math for most of high school, until I dual-enrolled at AACC and took MAT-191 with Prof Messenger. I don't think it's possible for me to have any more respect for him. I didn't need to use my online textbook; I just watched his videos, which were perfect He inspired me to look at calc-heavy careers in mech/aerospace engineering

Professor Messenger is amazing at explaining complicated math concepts. I regret that I had to take his course asynchronously, because I think his live instruction would have been enjoyable. He's a fair grader, very understanding, and he both grades and responds to messages at warp speed. Includes options for all learning styles/methods.

I have dyscalculia so math has always been the hardest class for me. Mr. Messenger would take the time to explain things to me when I asked and he never judged. Professor Messenger is an outstanding teacher and math lover. Firstly, his lecture style is very easy to follow and not just 'drill-and-kill'. Every problem he gives in his lectures is both relevant and helpful for better understanding and applying different scenarios you may encounter when solving problems. Overall very amazing person.

Professor Messenger was an amazing teacher! His lectures were easy to follow, and he explained complicated concepts in a way that made sense. He clearly loves calculus and teaching calc. The tests are very similar to the quizzes and homework, and all of my tests were graded the same day I took them. He also responds quickly to messages.

Amazing professor. I love how the class is organized, where it is completely self-taught, but has so many opportunities for practice. The class has four tests that you can take whenever you choose. I finished this class a month and a half early.
