Helpful, but the class should be easy for anyone with any computer experience

Truly energetic, inspiring and fun. This man is pure eletric energy, has more spunk than Daffy Duck, and is good at teaching the fundamental concepts of computers. I enjoyed this class everyday.

He is a very good professor. He also will help you anytime of the day/night. Just do the hw and gives a lot of extra credit, like tons! The easiest 5-unit class in GCC. Its online so u don't have to show-up only for Final,and he has extra help on Wed.

Boring class

He was running all the time, and was trying so hard to make everybody caught up with their work. You may feel a little pressure in the beginning, but he walks you through it so nicely, and helps you catch up with all the work. He also responds to your emails quickly. Thank you Brett, YOU ARE THE BEST!!

Bret Mikkita is the best in teacher in the Glendale College. He explaines everything very clearly and easy and no one is having troubles or problems with assingments. if you take this class you will pass 100%.

You have to do a lot of work.

This guy is the best. You are going to get scared once he tells you how much work is needed to be completeed. But, dont worry because he guides you through all of them. Also, his midterm and final were hard but as long as you did okay on it, the curve he gave was enough to boost you to an A or B. BRETTT Have fun on the camping trip.

This guy is so helpful. He has a laptop in his office so students can go there on his office hours and work on projects. If you just attend his class and listen, you will understand the material. Even if you know NOTHING about computers, he makes everything crystal clear. "its another beautiful day at the Glendale College...anyone miss me?" LOL

He does not take attendance, sucks if you show up every session. Every Fri a quiz and lab are due online. There are 3 big projects. He goes over the difficult steps in class, so if you miss a class you will fall behind left to attend a SI or figure it out yourself (which takes up sooooo much time). Cool guy, just wish the SI's were more flexible.

You will do well as long as you do what you are supposed to do. He is an awesome teacher!!! I strongly recommend his class!!!!

Brett is one of the greatest professor at GCC. I higly recommend him because he is very sweet, and nice. He is a fair grader and gives few extra credits. Although his midterm and final are a little challenging. But if you do poorly it wouldnt mean that you failed the class because he curves the final and your great boosts from a C to a B.

One of the BEST at GCC. He's so nice despite being terribly overworked. He'll help you in any way he can & knows computers inside and out. I'm not good with computers and I worked hard and got an A. So you can do it, too. Hey, not all young people know as much about computers as they claim.

Where should I start.. this teacher is AWESOME! He really cares about his students and makes sure that everyone understands the material. If someone does not understand it, he takes the time to help you out. He even goes out of his way when he is at home not getting paid to help. The Best! Several assignments and projects however Brett makes it extremely easy for anyone to pass. Directions are given to you step by step and if you don't stay on top of everything it can get overwhelming. Just do everything before the due date and you'll be fine. Stay on top of your "notes page" and there should be 0 problems on the final.

As long as you do the work, the quizzes are a breeze. I took this class online and it was VERY manageable. I will be taking his class again next semester. You will need the book. He does give a chance for extra credit, which helped me because I accidentally missed a quiz :/. You are graded on quizzes, discussion, midterm. Final was on campus.

The class was not difficult. Make sure to complete all the reading and practice questions for each chapter. Participation in weekly discussions is mandatory, so make sure to provide decent feedback for the questions he posts each week. I also recommend taking Professor Miketta for CS/IS 101 too.

Very patient guy, answers all questions thoroughly. Barely any hw. You have big projects that he does with you in class! Fav part is that he links your future. You create a website about you &your future -cost of sch you transfer to, future earnings, etc. Offers extra credit on things that benefit you like workshops or a getting an S.E.P.

Knew nothing about CS/IS before taking this class. I took his online class and I started out slow, got Bs and Cs on the first few projects and HWs. He answers any questions you have and pretty soon, I was getting all As on the assignments and learned a lot. He gives step-by-step instructions. All you have to do is get started on the projects early.

Professor Miketta was one of my favorite Professors. His assignments are clear, but definitely make you think! You won't pass if you don't do the work, but his deadlines are generous for the assignments. He's always willing to answer any questions you have to so don't be afraid to ask!

The class has 2 exams (1 midterm & 1 final). 3 main projects, important you come to class so you can run the through the steps with him. I had this professor both in class and online during the unexpected shift from COVID. He was definitely a delight in class and really took time to make sure everyone was on the same page. Online he put out videos that clearly outlined what he expected of us. There was a lot of work but if you just do what he says you'll get an A.

The course wasn't difficult for it being 5 credits, you do have to pay attention to due dates of assignments to plan accordingly, but the workload is truly not overwhelming. Professor Miketta made the transition to remote class instruction very simple during a semester that this facilitation was needed, he is also very willing to work with you.

Fantastic professor who really cares about his students. I really like that his class is project based instead and that he spends most of his time in class helping each student complete them. I don't like quizzes and tests and really appreciated that his class only has a final exam where I got to talk about what I learned about in the projects.

His lecture notes are all provided online in advance of the class meeting time so you don't have to take notes. We got multiple attempts at the tests and got to keep the highest score - fantastic. This was an amazing class. Someone posted something about coding in this class, but did not do any coding. I think it's in the next class.

His objective is super clear and you know exactly what he expects from you. If you dont know about something or if you are stuck somewhere you can always message him and hell respond quickly without any judgement. We had weekly assignments that shouldnt take more than a few hours, and finals. Youll learn the material and its an easy A.

The course material is divided into modules (one per week). Professor Miketta gives us the freedom to jump ahead and complete modules due on a later date. The labs were very informative as it consisted of editing or creating word, excel or PowerPoint files. Overall, Professor Miketta has made the course very accessible during this pandemic.

I took his class in spring 2020 inside campus, then we went to online classes because of Covid-19. I didn't have internet at home and laptop. So, he gave me time to have an internet and obtain a computer, so I continued my classes. This was my first online class. Professor always helped and responded to my questions. Really an amazing professor.

Professor Miketta goes over the class at length in an intro video. When some students had issues completing the Microsoft Office assignments on iOS, he looked for the "how to" videos on youtube and posted them on the class page. He also gave me clear advise about my career path. Do yourself a favor and take a class with him.

100% online class. 8 week course. He is very fair in grading and gives lots of opportunities to get extra credits.
