100-200 pages (~4 readings) assigned per lecture, but only 1 reading is assigned and graded via Perusall. The class is graded on Perusall, one group project, a final essay, and participation. Dryish lectures and lack of assignments make engagement and prep for the final essay tough. Not very helpful with logistical questions, but overall a nice guy

Prof Morrow was truly an amazing teacher! Many would say his lectures were boring and monotone but I found them fascinating and looked forward to class. Very group-based participation so you will always be asked to collaborate and work with partners - not bad if you dig that sort of thing. I ended up with an A- because of the final essay :(

Liked this class and was interested in the material. However, did not enjoy the class structure. Personally, didn't like the Perusall assignments where you read one of four required readings then you get in groups to talk to others to hear about the other three. The lectures/readings were a little dry, and the final essay was not too bad.

Professor Morrow is a great teacher. He is clearly passionate and experienced in his field. He does a great job at explaining concepts and connects them to familiar ideas for us to best learn. He takes many pauses to interact with students and answer any questions. He is very approachable. His GSI's are amazing. The course is interesting.

Ngl, I was really excited to take this class but it singlehandedly made me hate polisci. His lectures, although interesting, are usually inapplicable to the exams. Speaking of exams, you are only graded on a handful of assignments, and the GSI's are typically VERY harsh graders. Overall, the class wasn't worth the workload and inexplicable grading.

Professor Morrow has a good sense of humor and is knowledgable, but I would never recommend this class to anyone who enjoys political science. The majority of your grade comes from two written exams and two papers. The second paper was not graded until after the P/F deadline, and all assignments have been graded rather harshly based on the average.

Professor Morrow is a great person, but attendance is not mandatory at all because his lectures are pre-recorded and made into assignments that are due before the lecture. Also, discussion sections felt pretty unnecessary often. None of his exams are multiple-choice, so get ready to write.

All of the resources you could possibly need to succeed are laid out for you. As long as you don't get a horrible GSI, you'll be all set. He explains things wonderfully and keeps you engaged with great examples.

Professor Morrow provides great resources to succeed, though the class can be a bit dry at times. Using unstuckstudy alongside the textbook and lecture videos helps make the workload manageable. Overall, an engaging course if you stay on top of it.

The lectures are prerecorded so lecture is not mandatory and the lectures are boring. Also, sometimes discussions felt useless but the workshops for our papers were helpful. We have two paper assignments and two exams which make up the majority of the grade. If you have a good GSI, it is easy to get an A in this class.

I found Professor Morrow's lectures interesting, although they could be a bit dry at times (he cracks some good comedic bits from time to time). Graded content consists of 2 essays, section participation, and in-class essay exams, so bring your writing chops. Although my GSI was great, your grade will partially depend on how harsh your GSI grades.

Lectures were recorded and you are supposed to watch them before class so class was not mandatory since it was just a recap of lecture. Very GSI dependent. Two papers and midterm was one essay final is two essays. Overall a pretty easy class, lecture can be kinda boring but Professor Morrow tries his best and is overall really nice.

The professor's behavior was perceived as dismissive and inflexible. A student's essay was penalized by 10% for not including a UMID, even though the submission through Canvas meant there was no identification issue. This strict enforcement of what appears to be a minor rule suggests a lack of willingness to adapt.

Most of the lecture content was irrelevant for the exams. The professor was also quite dismissive when approached with a concern. The GSI was also not very supportive or flexible when it came to addressing concerns with exams. Overall, I will say that this course ruined my enthusiasm for political science.

Unfortunately, this was one of the least engaging and least organized classes I've taken. The grading criteria were unclear, and feedback on assignments was either vague or nonexistent. Would not recommend unless you absolutely have to take this course.

It is very obvious that Prof. Morrow cares so much about what he's teaching. It's really refreshing to go to lecture and hear a prof speak with so much passion. This is a very reading-heavy class, and he's a tough grader, but the concepts in this class are somewhat complex, so you have to know what you're talking about if you want a good grade.

We were expected to watch pre-lecture videos which I did consistently during the first half of the semester, only to find that the videos were exactly the same stuff that Professor Morrow said during lecture, which made it a waste to go. Grading depends on your GSI, and discussion felt unnecessary. Overall, I'm VERY disappointed.

Your grade in this course really depends on your GSI. I had an A in this class until the final exam... which I thought was incredibly difficult. I really liked my GSI so until the final week of this course everything was fine and dandy.
