Review from adult student. Nice guy. Young teacher. Very easy class. Felt like material was spoon feed to me. Easy grader. No surprises. He always gave plenty of notice. At times, It seemed like I was in a high school classroom. He made lots of jokes that I didn't find funny. Kinda nerdy.

Jim is a really cool guy. He is more than happy to explain something as much as you need to understand it. His class is very straightforward and he makes every effort he can to make sure you understand the material. Def. a good math teacher, and a good person.

if this guy can teach me math, he can teach it to anyone. he's friendly and helpful and makes a really boring subject tolerable. definitely try to take him.

Great teacher! He is really funny/entertaining. Assigns questions for HW, but you only have to hand in certain HW problems. He goes over any questions the class had about the HW. Gives practice tests for each test. Short quizzes every Friday-he tells you what is on them. Verry funny and hepful teacher! I plan on taking him again.

This instructor teaches examples right out of the text. He will gladly go over concepts and applications several times if asked. He also provides a study sheet a week prior to an exam and also reviews for a test on the day of the test. Jim makes this class fun. He is very humorous. Also, he will gladly review problems and explain applications several times. As a student, you must understand that you do have to do the homework to thoroughly understand the work involved. If you are willing to put time into attendance and homework, you can easily obtain a B or better.

Amazing teacher. I used to struggle so hard with math but he explains it the simplist way possible. if you can get him as a teacher i recomend him highly!!!

One of the best classes I have had at MCCC. This instructor is really fun and wants you to learn. He will go over an application several times to make sure you understand it. All students must know that to do well you must do the assigned practice applications to learn the concepts. I would gladly take this instructor again! Fun Class.

This professor was really nice. If you need help he is there for you. He is much younger then most but is very good in what he does. I would take him again. Do the homework, attend class and prepare for the tests and you will do great

Professor is very helpful. His teaching is very clear and precise. If you email him he gets back to you or answers the questions in class. I would highly recommend to take his classes. Attendance is not mandatory but it does help your grade. If you do the homework you will pass. He goes over the info for quizes and tests very clearly.

Wants you to succeed. Great help, practice sheet before every test, review before quizzes and tests, extra credit on most tests. Available for questions by email, phone or in person. Final was difficult but not impossible

Jim is the best math teacher I have ever had. He is hilarious. Not once did I dread coming to his class (like every other math class I have had). If you need any help, he will help you. His test review worksheets have the answer and the work completed so you really know how to do each problem that will be on the test. Take him!

Math was never my favorite subject. Once I had this professor he has made my life so much easier understanding the basics. I love him because he is hilarious it was not one day I did not look forward to going to class. He makes Math easier and fun at the same time. I would highly reccomend this professor. Jim, is an amazing teacher, he want to see his class pass.People retake the test if they have lower than a C. If i could have him every semester i'd be happy. Unlike some teachers, he's very laid back, doesn't give to much work and helps out as much as possible. He explain problems in the most simplified was possible. Bottom line he's the best .

Jim is an incredible instructor, and he really wants his students to learn the material and succeed. There was a lot of work, but it was mainly to prep for the exams. Professor gave opportunity to earn extra credit, and partial credit was given for exam problems. Wonderful experience, and highly recommended for all math levels.

Professor Muscatell is an absolutely wonderful teacher. He explains everything and reviews it all before tests. He is so fair and really knows how to explain the concepts. He even bought us pizza on the last day. You will love him if you take him!!!!!

I only attended a two week refresher course required due to placement test scores. This teacher made math very easy to understand for someone who is not great with the subject.

I took his class at LCCC Schnecksville. He was a great teacher. I haven't taken a college class in years and have always struggled with Math. He made it easy to understand and was helpful if you had any questions. I'd definitely recommend him!

I'm a 41 yr old student. I switched to him after having another for 3 days it was the best change I made. If I stayed with that other professor I would have failed. TAKE HIM GREAT TEACHER. If I have to take another math class I will look to see if he is teaching it he will be my first choice.

He was goofy and would always try to crack jokes that were about math and they werent funny but he was extremely easy. I missed some classes (which brought my grade down a little)and never paid attention in class and I got an A. He understands that most people are in that class because they have to be and he is lenient.

Great teacher! Online classes usually don't involve a lot of student-teacher interaction, but Jim made a point to respond to our discussion boards and help us with problems we had. It can be hard to learn just from the book but there are a lot of resources for online students that made it less difficult. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Jim! He is very clear when teaching, and giving assignments. If you attend regularly and pay attention, you will undoubtedly receive an A. Plus, he gives ample opportunities for extra credit. As someone who never went to high school due to medical reasons, I was in a bad position at the start. But my final grade was above 100%

I LOVED Jim's class. I have always hated math, but I started to enjoy it in his class. He's very helpful if you have questions/need extra attention. He uses PLATO learning software for extra practice & extra credit. He is fair on assignments and tests. I definitely recommend his class. I am disappointed that I don't have him for Math100.

Excellent Professor. Attend every class and study what he gives you and you will do well. He has a great way of teaching that is clear and understandable. Second time I took him and wish I could take for every math class.

Very easy class. Have to use my math lab for it but I didn't mind because it helps you bring your grade up if you did not do well on the tests. The tests were straight forward exactly what you learned. He just wants to help you get a good grade. Very clear and organized way of teaching.

Jim was one of the best math professors I have ever had. I have never taken a calculus course in my life. I survived. He was very clear, and you know what is expected of you, he gives students many chances to get points. He was also very hilarious in class. I would highly recommend him for any math class he teaches, wish he would teach all of them!

What can I say about Mr. M besides how personable & genuinely caring he is as a person & as a professor. He gives his students a daily dose of wit & knowledge. As long as you show up, come prepared & take the work seriously you'll pass his class. I suspect his pet peeve are habitually late students that show up 40 late minutes into his class.

He made the class very easy. He's also very fun and easy going. Class attendance matters, but you can skip a day or two if your grades are good (he deducts a few points). Need textbook for homework problem sets, but don't need to bring it to class.

I took Professor Muscatell for 188 & 189 (MAT 190), and he is by far the best math teacher ever. He is open to questions and will explain concepts a hundred different ways to help students understand. He relates material to the real world. Show up, pay attention, b/c there is no excuse that you couldn't get an A. Plus, he's hilarious!

Even tho this is an online class, he still helps u understand the concepts. He gives u many different websites and videos to help u understand the concepts and will answer questions if u still don't understand afterwards. He also agrees that the required textbook can be confusing in explaining certain things, but is only good for extra practice.

I had Jim for an online MAT142 class. There were 4 HW problem sets, 16 small HW assignments, 2 take home tests, and a midterm and final (which we could bring in two full sheets of notes for). Sounds like a lot, but he spaced out the class where we could still enjoy our summer. Responded quickly to emails and gave us plenty of resources. Easy A!

He'll try his best to teach his students by doing different methods for a problem, will give you credit for for trying even if your answer wrong. He replaces your worst test score with your best. Love this guy! I will be searching for additional math classes with him. He grades very quickly and always has feedback and suggestions. There's a lot of work but I don't blame him since the class I took was online and also condensed.

I found Mr. Muscatell to be one of the best professors I've had. His teaching style, I believe, works with all different learning abilities. He is always there to answer questions. Stay on top of the work and you'll be fine!

I had Mr. Muscatell twice this year. I had him in math 010 and 011 and blew through both classes with an A. I wish he was teaching math 106 as he is AWESOME. I looked forward to going to math class! He is clear, loves questions, and explains everything so anyone can understand him. If you have him as an option, don't even hesitate.

He is the best Professor ever I had him for Mat 10 and 11 and I passed with A and B. Come to his class everyday and you will pass and you will gey the work he breaks everything down for you. James was one of the best professors ive ever had. I am terrible at math and james actually taught me so much at a level that i could understand. Definitely take his class if you want a fun overall in class experience. Hes funny and a great guy. He talks a bit fast sometimes but just ask him to slow down and youll be fine.

Muscatell is a very good proff. I took his online class(6 week) and he was very clear about expectations. The instructional videos were great and the written HW examples where also very good as well. I highly recommend taking this class online.

I am currently taking his class now . Hes an amazing professor and he will help you if you have trouble . If you cant get the textbook ASAP he will post the chapters online. As long as you do and pay attention and do what you are supposed to do you are going to be do you are fun . Goes fast a little but you can ask him to slow down.

Prof James is really amazing for Mat courses. I had an online class with him and did his best as a prof for an online student. He provides various sources for studentys to be clear about the chapters. It is just in you, if you are ready to work hard. He really did great work on giving feedback in discussions , quizzes and exams and clear on errors.

I took Math 010 and I made the right choice by taking him again. He gives you good feedback and I passed Math 010 thanks to him. He will tell you what you did wrong and post deadlines so you can work on them. I am not a huge fan of online classes especially math but this is an amazing online. Gives you credit for your work. Do not mess around.

This professor is the best professor I have ever had. When he does his lectures he gives real world examples to make the lectures understandable. He also allows you to take home all of the test except for the midterm and final which are all open note. He also replaces you two lowest test with highest test. Please take him. You will not regret it.

Professor Muscatell was fantastic! His lectures were clear and he uses real life examples to help you to understand the work. It seems like a lot of work, but it really helps you grasp difficult concepts. 10/10 would take again.

Great professor. Had him for online 7 week with 4 topics each section had homework & a quiz but plenty of time to do it. He helps you if you are stuck and responds late at night. The final was a little difficult but there was a lot of practice problems to help you with. I would take him again if i had more math classes

I took his online class, and you get graded on homework, participation in the discussion boards, quizzes/tests, and My Open Math. So easy! Gives time to submit things, and is easy to talk to. The homework was nice because you don't have to do every single question. However, the problem sets are very time-consuming and the tests were difficult for me. The tests are on paper with a time limit. I didn't even look at the textbook but you can use it for homework instead of Mathway if you want.

Professor Muscatell is by far the best Math Professor I have ever had. Math is not my strongpoint but Professor Muscatell's lectures make math easy to understand. While a decent amount of work is assigned, the content within the work has everything you need to get an easy A.

It was a pleasure being in Jim's class and he always made the class fun. His personality was always friendly and ready to help you understand. Was willing to tutor you in class and out and spoke in simple terms so that you understood how to work the problems. I took this class for the 2nd time under him and passed. It's worth taking Jim's class.

Best math professor I've ever had. Professor Muscatell is hilarious, and he taught math in a way I've never seen it before. Although if you want a good grade, you have to work hard really hard at it despite only making you do 3 HW problems for full credit. Not to mention he allows you a 3x5 index card for every test. TAKE HIM! He's a walking W!

For an accelerated calculus course that is self-taught (asynchronous six-week online class), the way the class is formatted is fairly understandable even for someone who isn't great with mathematical concepts. A majority of your grade is the four tests, with four assignments and a fifty-question homework set to go with each test. He is nice.

Good professor for a 7 week pre calculus course only graded on the assignments and how well you do on it tests aren't that easy not hard too he's a nice guy would email back as soon as possible take him.

Pre calc seven 7 class is rough but once you understand the material you'll be do fine he's worth taking.

This is an online course if you do all the assignment as soon as possible you'll be fine he does respond to emails and will help you if need. If you follow step by step the problems you'll be fine in his online class he will help you as well and he's very nice guy to have take him.

Best Professor at Montco he really cares about his students so much his Precalculus II online is tough but he will manage to help you no matter what he emails you back real quick and will show you step by step the problems over good online course but tough 7-weeks.

Rough start for me but I finally made a good comeback he has good lectures and practice problems as well best professor I've seen so far coming from a 7-week course is grading is not heavy at all he's a fair grader and would email you real fast and help you and gives good feedback. THIS GUY SHOULD NEVER QUIT MATH HE'S THE GOAT!

Taking Jim Muscatell online Precalculus 2 course I was nervous at first but he's a good professor and will help at all times all of his assignments are on myopenmath lots of practice problems but with good practice you take pass his course I only took him for pre calc 2 not 1 since there wasn't any good professors except him he's great and the goat

Mr.Muscatell taught well and was easy to understand. MOM sets really helped me understand the material. He makes it easy to succeed in the class, allowing notes on quizzes and the final. He is a quick grader and reachable via email. I'd recommend him to a friend!

Incredibly amazing teacher. Had him last semester and was super helpful. Anytime I missed a note day he would email me his so I could prepare for the quiz. Really cares about his students and his personal stories are always super funny. Does tend to repeat himself a lot but in the long run it was helpful for the learning process.

Once again I enjoy Muscatell class he has great lectures and good extra credit opportunities as well his calc review w/ function class is worth taking even if you have to take Calc I I suggest to take his mat188 class you'll understand everything he rocks!

Professor Muscatell was hand down the best math professor I've ever had! I took his 6 week online course and it was great! He always answered questions I emailed him and he's very lenient with partial credit. The tests follow almost the exact formats of the practice ones he gives out. Such a great guy!

Six week course was a walk in the park he was amazing class wasn't hard pretty easy.

Good good good professor I learn a lot from a 10 week pre calc I course more than the college I went to responds to emails not too quickly but helps me out when I'm struggling to understand the problems I can tell he cares about his students he's a great professor and I would take him again.

Overall Muscatell, Calc for Business course is pretty straight forward all practice homework is on MOM but he does give out assignments which require to do on paper, and the problem set on MOM as well. Exams aren't that bad too but two exams are required a zoom proctor with him given a time limit he's a nice guy but gives out lots of assignments.

One of the best math teachers at Montco. While the class was difficult since I'm not a math person he did everything he could and is extremely generous with giving out extra points. He's also very nice. 100% recommend him. Take him if you can.
