Highly recommended.

Not as hard as I was told. He is a nice guy and is willing to help. A lot of homework and FASB projects. But he did talk too much taxation and auditing stuff in AC207. I got an A in his class, but don't think too many others did too.

Had him for both AC201 and AC202. He's one of the best professors I've had so far, very nice and very helpful. Never missed a class and an overall good professor. Highly Recommended. But if you want to pass this course you NEED to read the text book plus do the homework problems he assigns (he goes over the HW so any questions you can always ask).

August 2008. Acct 201 I have not been in college for 35 years. I took this course very seriously. Professor Nelson was challenging, engaging, entertaining, in-control, knew his stuff, made the course interesting and wanted us to succeed. I learned a great deal and had a great experience in his class. He was the best prof that I remember.

A great accounting professor, he makes sure that you understand the materials and goes over the homework everyday. He is a very good professor. He is the second best Accounting teacher at MC after professor Gurevitz. He knows what he is talking about. He is very helpfull. Accounting is not an easy subject. He makes it as easy as possible. You should study hard for Accounting.

I had him last semester for AC201 and am suffering an 8 am course jsut to have him again this semester. He speaks fluent understandable english (rare these days), assignments are clear, he wont baby you by taking attendance for credit, tests are weighted progressively. Fair grading, if you put in the effort you can get an A. Can't say hes the best

I took him for accounting 1 and loved him. I got an A. I would have taken him again for 202 but his class filled up quickly (and 8 am is too early for me)

This professor is really awesome! I am foreign student(Russia) and I was afraid to take AC201 because of my imperfect english, but Pr.Nelson made me feel very confident and he answered all questions. He just so helpfull and kind! I highly recommend him!

Verygood accounting teacher...He likes to call on students for answers and get them involved. He has a sense of humor and class requires a lot of studying and completing all homework for a decent grade no matter who the professor is. However having said that I think his encouragements help. He also tutors and encourages his students to attend.

He likes to call on people in class which requires that you read the chapter and do the homework -- at the same time, he does not try to embarass or disrespect you as an individual. There is no shaming but you will need to do the studying because he will work with you but fail you so do your part. I plan to take more classes from him.

Prof. Nelson is very knowledgeable. I was very afraid to take accounting and in the end it was my favorite class. Is it hard? Yes. But if you study and pay attention it is not more than applying rules... He does pop-quizzes but let's you substitute some for lecture notes.... My worse exam grade with him was 98%. Do the review exams!!!

Professor Nelson is a great teacher. In class he usually goes over examples rather than focusing on multiple choice. Like any other course, effort outside of the classroom is required and I mean this in regard to reading the chapters. He is definitely helpful if you ask for it. He comes off as scary at first but he really isn't.

Professor Nelson does great lectures and he is easily available outside of class, just make sure you get there early because he almost always has students in his office. Do all your homework assignments and never procrastinate you'll regret it. He makes the class worthwhile.

Professor Nelson is THE best accounting teacher you can have. If you have a chance to take his class do it. It fills up way too fast. Exams are not bad at all. He tells you what will be on it, no surprises. If you listen you will do well in the class. And remember, you'll know more accounting now than you ever did.

I took Acct 221 and 222 with Prof. Nelson. He is the best . Explains the materials clearly and is extremely caring about his students. Exams are clear with no surprises.

I took Professor Nelson for both Accounting I & II he is a great Professor and his classes fill up quickly! You have to pay attention and practice at home to remember everything, but Professor Nelson goes over all the problems in class, and tells you exactly what type of problems will be on the exams to study for. Take him you won't regret it!

I took Honors Accounting 1 last semester. Talk about Sysco because he's son works there and he will love you. He was a great professor but there were a lot of memorization required in this course ( which I am not good at) so I ended up with a B in this course. Online HWs are mandatory.

James is an awesome professor and very understanding. I was 12 pts away from an A but i walked away with a solid B. You cant skip class and expect to pass. This class is very doable and he makes it fun. Show up to class, do homework, and read, that should give you a good grade. Before exams, he literally tells you what to study for. AA+ professor.

I only gave him "makes you work for it" because it is accounting and you do have to work for it outside on your own, but he honestly was really helpful and was willing to help. He is also funny and has lots of great stories relating to the topic of the course!

Teaches you exactly what you need to know and goes over many examples. His lectures are funny as he gives personal stories relating the material to his career in accounting. Online homework is incredibly fair and gives you a lot of room for error. He also assigns problems that will be discussed in class but not graded. Do these problems!

Accounting is a hard class so you must be willing to put in work regardless of your professor. However, Nelson would explain what would be on the exams. His powerpoints are very helpful. If you practice the problems you do in class and study multiple choice at the end of the chapter you will do great.

I took professor Nelson for Accounting 1 and 2. He is the best!! He assign a homework every week through wiley plus, also he assign 2-3 homework problems, which are not graded but he will ask you for the solutions. 3 exams during the semester. Professor Nelson is great at accounting and he knows what hes talking about. Zoom call meetings he explained and went over everything throughly. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS because accounting is not easy! Repetition is key and if you can try to meet with him outside of class to go over homework.

I had prof. Nelson for both 221 when the pandemic first started and then 222 in fall '20. Hands-down one of the Best professors I've ever had. He is straight to the point, very fair/understanding, and always gives real word examples. Highly recommend him, just pay attention, ASK QUESTIONS, and stop him if u r ever lost. Nice guy overall.
