His notes are very clear and understandable. His tests are also pretty easy. As long as you go to class and listen, you'll pass his tests without hardly any studying. He's also quite upbeat.

I love Dr. Reichard! He is so helpful, and the tests cover his notes exactly. Go to class and study the notes, and you'll have an A. Also, try to get him for lab. Everybody else sucks.

DON'T however, take TRUPE for the lab!! he is horrible. he can't teach and makes tests hard on purpose, but reichard's test's are easy and to the point. PICK REICHARD, NOT TRUPE!!!

Great Teacher! Tests are very straightforward, right from the notes. Barely have to consult the book at all. He is very helpful, and he's funny! Made the class very interesting. Go to class though, because everything is from the notes, just reading the book won't help you understand the concepts.

GREAT teacher! I took the class ready to be completely bored (hey.. it's just rocks), but he made class VERY interesting. The tests come from the notes so you really don't have to get the book.

Class was very fair but you absolutely have to come class if you want to pass. I didnt study for the first test and got a 55. I studied for the next two and got 83 on both of them. Class is fairly boring with a bunch of notes. The tests are pretty hard but are exactly from the notes. I ended up with a C.

2nd time i took geo lab and he was way better than my first teacher. tests are from the notes and not too much memorization. i think he was a good teacher.

Best professor ever! If u go to class everyday & study ur notes u will get As on every tests. There r reading assignments (not from book), but they're interesting (these are also on the test). He knows how 2 teach geology so every1 can understand. He is extremely helpful also. Also, u don't need ur textbook (I didn't even open mine). I got an A+

This professor keeps it real, he even explains how he went from a terrible & careless student, to liking geology and such. class it easy, just read your given assignments, take some pop quizzes, take notes from the powerpoint, and u'll pass. tests are easy, u really dont even need ur book, just skim thru ur notes & done

I would only recommend him if you are majoring in geology otherwise its way too much studying and too detailed for a core class. I didn't think the class was easy at all, but I also hate science and have never been interested in the subject.

Dr. Reichard is an awesome professor; I have learned so much in his class that I've decided to minor in geology. At first, I assumed I would not need to study that much. Now I know that if I look over the notes, reading assignments, and chapters, I'll be sure to do great on the tests. The final is just another test too, yes!

THIS IS AN AWESOME PROFESSOR. he tries to ensure that you succeed. you have to work for it though. it takes studying and reviewing thoroughly. but if you out an effort in then it's possible to get an A

The professor's a nice guy who gives numerous opportunities for people to receive extra credit and Q&As for tests, which are very helpful. The curriculum stays pretty consistent throughout the year, but many appreciate that. If you pay attention, SHOW UP, take notes, it's pretty hard to fail. I'd recommend him.

Dr. Reichard is wonderful. I had a large lecture class, probably 300 people, and I still felt like I got personal attention. I think every student feels that way. His explanation of the material is consistent and clear. Plus, he literally wrote the book lol. Take him.

Dr. Reichard is a great professor. The class is a bit of a challenge but it's not impossible. You do need to put some effort in the course. Read the textbook and go to class. There are 13 quizzes with content all from the textbook and three tests that just cover what he lectures in class. He also gives Q&A sessions before test days.

Great professor and class. You have to put in the effort, but he really gives you all the opportunities you need to succeed. Going to class is key because the tests are straight from the notes. There are online quizzes that are straight from the book. He even tells you how to study and prepare for his tests. Extra credit for visiting his office.

The class wasn't mandatory but if you missed a class you missed part of your study guide. His test weren't hard as long as you rewrote your notes with more information than what was given in class. The quizzes on the book were always tough and had more than one right answer. Overall he was great for lecture and better if you had him for lab.

This material was very, very difficult for me. HOWEVER Dr. Reichard is an excellent teacher and a very kind, funny, and helpful man. I did horribly on the first test. But with Dr. Reichard's help, I managed to get C's on the last 2 and pulled a high B in the class with the quizzes and extra credit. Not hard to get a B if you take his advice!

What you expect from a college professor. First day of class he will explain exactly what all the comments are talking about. He is fair in grading and just do the work. I mean 1 online quiz with 4 questions, how hard is that to do. Tests are simple if you have common sense. Didn't study for one test really, and still got an A.

Attend lectures, as the tests are based almost fully on his lecture notes that he does not supply online. Attend, take notes, and study what you need to in order to retain the core concepts. An easy A if you play by his rules and put forth the effort.

He's an awesome person, but a terrible teacher... his lectures are so painfully boring, BUT he's such a nice person and he's so passionate about his subject. Great teacher. Extremely knowledgeable. Homework is done by participation grade, not by what is right and wrong. Quizzes are based off the text book. Exams are based off the lecture only. If you skip, you will not pass. Exams are hard, but he gives extra credit. You lab grade also affects your lecture grade. I would recommend him!

If you need to take this course you will be doing yourself a disservice by not taking him.

Professor Reichard is a real gem. One plus is that he wrote the book you'll be using so he knows practically all there is to know about it. But he breaks them down with simple sketches and diagrams that really help a lot. One sketch can have up to 5 concepts. His extra quiz is really fun, make sure to go to class on Fridays. Excellent Professor hes extremely fair if it's in lecture it'll probably be on the test its as simple as that. He also drops your lowest test grade if you score 20 points higher on next tests. As long as you come to class you'll be fine he breaks down the material into its simplest form and thats exactly how itll be on the test

Absolutely amazing professor. Great guy. I got a high A in the class and put in very little effort in doing it. All you have to do to get a good grade in this class is to get a good copy of all the lecture notes by going to class and taking them yourself or getting them from a friend. Then just study the notes before the tests and you'll do fine. Little reading is required.

The course is 100% lectures with a lab however he makes the lectures very tolerable. All of the tests are over the lectures, but they are more conceptual than specific facts. As long as you take good notes and do the required work online and in the lab it is an easy A.

Keep up on Folio because he does not have the quizzes open for the whole year so you can plan ahead. He opens them when he feels like it. His lectures are fantastic and very easy to comprehend. He doesn't have a cumulative final. He wrote the book too.

If you daydream during his lectures and only write down the words on the projector, you won't pass. His test are based solely on his lectures.

He's so knowledgeable and actually keeps class interesting with everything he teaches. The class is basically all lectures, but he's easy to pay attention to since he's always making little jokes. Seriously a cool dude. Seemed intimating at first but genuinely cares about his students and will make exceptions for you if you show you care about your grade. He understands what it's like to be student and is willing to work with you, just do the work and say something in class every once in a while.

This is a great professor, he really knows what he is talking about with geology. His leactures are from his experiences done from so many years. I really enjoy this class. If you need help with understanding something with the leacture he is wiling to give you a better understanding about it. He wants you to pass the class.

If you have to take a science class, Reichard makes Environmental Geology pretty interesting, with flooding, earthquakes,sustainable energy,etc. He really loves the subject and knows alot about it. He's funny too. I took it online with open book tests and quizzes so I did OK. face to face might be a lot harder if you had to memorize all the info

Professor Reichard was very funny and relatable which made lectures more fun. He goes through notes and explains everything but often goes off on tangents. His tests were always relevant to what was in the notes. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed so he is available for help. 10/10 professor.

He was a great professor ! Very straightforward. Records all zooms, so if you miss it you can get the information. The work is easy trust me. I recommend him for the lab part also. Not stressful. Total of 3 test. They are easy & based on the notes.

Dr. Reichard was such a great professor! The class consisted of quizzes, 3 tests, and Connect homework assignments that are due before each test. The workload for this class was not strenuous at all. Dr. Reichard made learning about Geology interesting and was also a very personable guy over zoom which says a lot. Over great and easy Area D credit.

His quizzes are difficult but he drops some of them, and his exams are very easy. The homework was on connect for completion, not for correctness. He is very kind and helpful. He gave us extra credit sometimes for attending his live zooms. I would take him again!!

I had him last semester and I honestly miss having him as a professor. I looked forward to his class and his lectures every day I had it. I can't tell you how much I hope I'll get to take one of his classes again. Makes me consider changing my major to Geology. If you get the chance to take his class, do yourself the favor of taking it.

He is a great and passionate teacher. If you are looking for the best geology teacher he is your best choice. He has a few tests which are not too hard they are based on his lectures. He makes doing notes in class really easy and gives you tons of time to complete it. Has some homework but not too much. I recommend taking his class.

Professor Reichard is literally the BEST! He doesn't grade hard, his test cover what he lectures, and he gives easy extra credit assignments! Use the textbook for some stuff but not really!

Grades through quizzes (weekly) based on the textbook and tests based on lectures. Lecture notes are shown through Word, figures/graphs/images, and sketches, which can take a little time to get used to but you catch on. Recorded lectures but this isn't done out of pandemic. Offers extra credit. Take notes, pay attention, and ask questions.

Dr. Reichard is one of the best professors I have had at GSU. I'm not a geology person but the way that Dr. Reichard teaches has really made me enjoy the subject. Attendance isn't mandatory but recommended because the exams will be so much easier if you do. If you take notes and pay attention, you will succeed in this course. Highly recommend!

Dr. Reinhard is a stellar professor with a very forgiving personality. He is as many have said the embodiment of what a professor should be. He gives detailed lectures with useful homework, relative to the content of his quizzes and exams. Overall a 10/10

This was hands down my favorite professor. He is very funny and respects all students. Make sure to use your textbooks because they really help for quizzes. You also get a free grade by taking connect quizzes that are for a participation grade. I would definitely recommend him

Dr. Reichard is the best professor at Georgia Southern. He is a great guy and respects all of his students. Attendance isn't mandatory, but tests questions come straight from his lectures. He also drops your 3 lowest quiz grades and gives multiple extra credit opportunities. If you make anything lower than an A in his class, it's your own fault.

Dr. Reichard was a total gem. One of his previous students recommended I take him and I am very glad I did because science is not my strong suit and I needed a lab class that wouldnt destroy my gpa. I struggled a bit, but he was there to help and wanted to see his students be successful in his class. definitely recommend him if you suck at science

Great professor with some of the better lectures out there. Would highly recommend taking him for Environmental Geology. Be warned of lots of homework but he gives you months to complete the assignments. To add to that, the work isn't difficult but is time consuming.

Great professor obviously loves what he does. He cares a lot about getting to know his students and he does what he can to help them succeed. Not too hard of a class and not too much work, he gives you a lot of extra credit opportunities. You definitely still need to study hard to get a good grade but if you but in good effort its not too hard.

The class is challenging but the teacher is helpful. The way he lectures is very simple and to the point but they can be long. Everything he has us take notes on is on the tests so you don't have to worry about the tests having nothing to do with what was taught. Make sure you attend the class and take AND study the notes or you won't do well.

Dr. Reichard is a goofball, and he made me consider geology as a minor. He is so smart and he will draw a ton of diagrams for you. He is always available to help his students, and he loves the braves.

Dr. Reichard is a wonderful professor, who has an inexplainable ability to "dumb things down". He is clear and concise, while maintaining engagement with the class. I hope to take more of his courses in the future, since he is a large reason for changing my major!

Attendance is not required, but I would advise going because all of his exams come straight from his lectures. Also, his chapter quizzes are often based on obscure parts of chapters so please be sure to read in detail. The only grades in the class are exams however, lots of extra credit is offered. Great teacher and makes complicated topics easy.

He is a great teacher the lectures can get a little boring though. I think part of that has to do with how long the lectures are. He offers a lot of extra credit and I highly encourage you to do all of it because it helped me a whole letter grade.

If you go to class, study the lecture notes and do the connect material you can get an A in this class. People think the tests are hard, but if you study the material you should be fine. Attendance not for a grade, but if you don't show up you won't get enough of the information to even make a C on the tests. Show up pay attention and your golden.

This was a decent class overall. The tests wont be hard if you show up and take notes. You will also learn a lot of things that apply to what you do in a day. I hate science but I actually enjoyed this class. My suggestion would be to take all the extra credit opportunities he offers.

Prof Reichard is an amazing teacher. One of the only lectures where I have been actively engaged in. Cool guy and tells real-life stories to relate to the material. Attendance is the main thing, not coming to lecture missing test material. Good easy class if you stay on top of things.

Dr. Reichard is a fantastic professor. His lectures are fairly engaging and he provides lots of sketches that really help solidify information and are great when studying for exams. He does assign a lot of online quizzes and "connect" material but it is honestly not bad. Dr. Reichard is really funny and just an overall great guy and professor.

Although his grading was tough, he was an amazing professor. It was a very clear criteria. You should not take this class if you're looking for a class where lectures do not matter.

This professor was very good. He gives lots of information during lecture that will be on the exam so make sure to attend class, although attendance is not mandatory. SUCH a cool guy. Go to class and take notes and your at a B. Its not super easy but with some effort you'll be fine. Lectures can get boring but he tries to combat that with some cool stories. He's a really good guy and its a really good course.

Dr Reichard is an AMAZING professor. I am a senior and I am taking this class because I needed another science with a lab. Geology sounded interesting to me, so I took it on a whim. I am so glad I did because this class was so fun and interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory but you need to go if you want an A. Exams are all lecture.

Dr. Reichard is a cool dude. His lectures can be long and a little boring but it is crucial to attend class and take notes in order to do well. His notes are clear and he gives some extra credit. Making quizlets will also help. Overall not a bad class and I highly recommend this professor to make your life easier.

I went into this class nervous because two of my friends got a C in the class, so I was prepared for the class to be hard. Ended up with above 100. over 13% of the points offered is a bonus. Tests aren't that bad, just go to class.

TAKE THIS CLASS! Dr. Reichard is the best instructor I have ever had. He truly cares about the success of his students, he offers several extra credit opportunities and even holds review sessions for the exams on Zoom. He is one of the most knowledgeable, caring, and hilarious professors at this university.

Hydrogeology has been my favorite course of my whole college career. Reichard is a phenomenal prof. and I wish his lectures were longer so he could expand on more content. The labs are very straight forward and relate to the lecture content. Everything on the test gets taught to you in class, so as long as you are there you're guaranteed success.

Great professor! Had absolutely no problems. No mandatory attendance (although it is the best way to pass the tests), online quizzes, and connect hw with unlimited attempts. He gave multiple extra credit opportunities and a flexible redemption policy. Just be careful with lab professor you pick, I had Guggino and he was NOT it.

You know how you have those one or two professors that you will remember for the rest of your life, who were just made to be a professor. Yeah. Geology is hard but this man could teach Calc 5 and make everyone love it and laugh while learning it. If you have the option to take him and you don't, you're doing yourself a disservice.

Although attendance is not required in the syllabus, if you do not show up, you will not pass. The folio quizzes are based off the reading in the textbook and the exams are off of your lecture notes. The connect assignments are easy to complete for the points. He tries to give extra credit as much as he can, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT.

It is the easiest class to take, if you don't do the quizzes or attend lectures you will fail. Exams are straightforward based on the lectures to a T. The online quizzes are difficult but manageable if you actually read. Overall 10/10 would do again.

He gives a few extra credit opportunities at the beginning of the semester, so take advantage of them. The only downside is that the textbook is pretty expensive (probably because he wrote it), it's around $100 just for the online textbook.

Such an awesome professor. I had him for lecture and lab and he made the class intersting and interactive for both. As long as you go to class and complete the chapter quizzes you will do great. He was very clear on what would be on the tests for both lecture and lab. If you go to him for help, he will help you because he does want you to succeed. There are geology tutors who are available monday-friday who are wanting to help. You must show up to the lecture to have the information you need for the test, he will not post them online.

He gives up to 50 points of extra credit, so if people don't do well in this course, that's on the student. He is very clear in the lecture about what content will be covered in the exam. he was really nice and the lectures were engaging but the tests were SO hard. i went to class everyday and studied a ridiculous amount and still failed most tests. he gives extra credit for random things so just pay attention to the beginning of the class when he does announcements. overall though he was really nice

I actually loved this professor; I had him for both the lecture and lab and he was great. He is very kind and willing to work with you if you need it as long as you communicate with him. Attendance for the lab is mandatory but not for the lecture though if you don't go you won't get the notes you need. If you just pay attention the class is easy.

Dr. Reichard is a great professor! ATTEND EVERY LECTURE!! He provides tests based on those notes, so as long as you show up, studying for the exams is relatively easy. The other thing is to do the homework. He uses Connect (McGraw-Hill) to provide interactive tests and quizzes, both of which are forgiving and easy.

Class is easy, no notes are ever posted in folio so you have to go to class to get the notes but if your sick he will send lecture video. The tests are HARD compared to the material in class. He does offer a lot of extra credit points which help with the grade but frustrating how difficult tests are compared to lecture material. Study a lot.
