Informative, interesting, kind and funny. Requires: two conceptual analysis and a scientific research paper formated "APA" style. Both will require the use of sophistated materials well above entry level. Mid term and final are written theory. The end of the semester is extremely stressful.

Mr. Shannon is very nice, this is a self driven class, there are only 2 hw assignments, research paper, and the exams. To succeed, you have to read and listen to his lectures, in his office, you can't ask for a nicer person, very funny at times, can be unclear, but overall, i recommend him.
Just listen to the important stuff. He will tell you what is important. The tests are essay form, and sometimes based on lecture info only, so make sure you know what he will be asking. if you ask before the test date (there are only 2) he will be sure to review. Research paper required, but he gives you a lot of time. ask questions.he is clear!
He requires 2 conceptual analysis's and a research paper in apa formatt, He gives you a topic sheet for the mid term and final so you can be completely prepared! He is very willing to help, make sure you ask alot of questions in class. There is no such thing as a dumb question with him! so just ask.
He was coo, but you have to rely on his lectures and reading which I paid no attention to either. >.<
Words cannot express how much I enjoyed this class!!!! All you really have to do is pay attention, take tests and do most of your homework!
very nice guy....but one of the most confusng lecturers EVER. i dropped his class and took guttman, and loved it. wouldnt reccomend shannon
This class is tough, but the teacher's awesome. He is very enthusiastic about it and it makes the class cool!! I recomend it 100%
great teacher. very very funny and nice. lectures are pretty much always entertaining. only 100 total points for the entire semester, most of them after the midterm. if you need help, he would be more than happy too. strongly recomend
if you love working hard then you'll love this class, i'm not but i love his class he is just so helpful.
totally hilarious guy and makes the class exciting. but totally doesnt explain anything and goes off on tangents all the time. READ THE BOOK.
Very nice person and very hilarious, however, very confusing and does not clarify what he wants.Despite his great willingness to help,he very few specific assignments to do ,which leaves you off track. If you still want to take his class I recomend this... READ THE BOOK!!!
cool teacher not boring he knows his stuff. if you like a lecture class this is a class for you. number one recommendation is read the book.
He was one of my favorites @ Citrus. He kept me interested, which is really important for me. You definitely have to study & know your stuff to do good on exams, but if you come to class & read the text, you'll do find.He got me very interested & actually turned me towards a different career choice.I recommend his Marriage/Intimate Relationship Cour
Very funny, very personable, extremely scatterbrained and unclear. He's been doing this so long he thinks he doesn't need notes anymore. Always asks class what he was talking about. Overall, not recommended.
Verry funny and personable. He really does a good job. I enjoyed his class. He's a smart guy and a good teacher. I liked his somewhat scattered lectures. he's great.
Great teacher.... long research paper..
VERY NICE PERSON, BUT A BAD TEACHER YOU CAN GET HIM OFF TOPIC EASILY AND ONLY HAS FOUR ASSIGNMENTS IN THE CLASS FAIL ONE YOU FAIL THE CLASS....
Must do reading. Nice guy. If you survive midterm, you should make it out with at least a B. A is only 83/100 points. Once you know what he's looking for in the 3 papers, you'll be fine. But lots of people leave the class, though he won't drop you because he doesn't always take attendance.
Mr. Shannon is very funny, and makes class interesting but he assumes you know what he's talking about, he's a little scatterbrained and unclear. He simply lectures, hardly any notes are taken. Always asks class what he was talking about. Overall, not recommended.. READ THE BOOK and ask questions. Tests are essay form, extremely difficult.
He is a funny instructor. He makes the class fun by cracking jokes or telling stories that he saw or was part of. His test, I agree, are extremely difficult since they are in essay forms.

He's a great teacher! But the class is difficult because of the essays. It's an essay only class, no multiple choice tests. I definantly recommend not to take the class in winter or summer sessions. It's just too hard!
I would not recommend taking this teacher. He does not use or follow the text. His lectures are useless because he doesn't use any notes or the book. Very hard to understand, doesn't clarify assignments or anything at all. Exams are hard and made up of essay q's. Read the text, it does a better job of explaining what's going on.
He is not organized at all. I took this class online. Had two tests; midterm & final, and has writing assignments throughout the semster. You use the book a lot. This class is required to study a lot. Although he is hard, his test preperation handouts are clear. He combines the questions which makes it difficult. STUDY STUDY STUDY!!
On line class not suggested. 5 assignments, 2 conceptual analyses, mid-term, final and a pass/don?t pass research paper due at end of course. This class was difficult, a lot of reading, essay required answers and no multiple choice. Teacher gave assignments out of order, at random, with no structure or directions. Teacher offered no critique to
(Online late-start) Read your textbook, and STUDY HARD! You need to have high verbal ability. If you have difficulty expressing yourself in writing, I would recommend taking someone else. I personally loved this class. It was challenging and gave me a solid understanding of the subject. Just call or e-mail him if you need help, he is very friendly.
Lectures are hard to follow. I felt like I didn't learn anything coming out of the class. Somehow I still managed to get a B, but I felt like I didn't learn anything. If you really are interested he is helpful if you ask, but lectures are unclear. He's a very kind man, but not a very good teacher.
Great teacher. Very quick with responses on e-mails. A lot of reading and writing but if you don't mind a few essays it is a great class. Teacher understood all topics covered and explained them fully. Great online course.
He knows what he is doing, so do not doubt him. Follow his instructions, and you should be OK. Do all of the work, not kidding because everything counts. Avoid this class if: one you are not a social and behavioral science major, and two, if you have no interest in science. Steer clear of this class during sessions like summer and winter.
Good teacher, lactures are INTERESTING, but USELESS if you do not take notes or read the book! the test are not really essaay, 5q's wich require about 1 page to answer each but in a blue book, not too ahrd if you read the book. READ READ READ!! the only reason i Passed was becaus we had a sub for half the semester and she cut us some slack
Horrible teacher. Expects you to be at his level. Does not answer emails quick enough. Assumes you are at his level and teaches the class that way. To Shannon all questions are stupid questions. You are better off to ask someone else for help. DO NOT TAKE HIM> YOU'll BE SORRY!!!!!
Good Professor, I have taken him twice and loved both classes. I learned alot from him, but you do have to be able to keep up with his vocab, and his corky sense of humor. He is definitely willing to help out any student who needs help and he has a great grading scale, I recommend him just make sure you read the book and study for the tests.

worst teacher everrr do not takeeee himmmm!!!!
Very difficult distance ed course. He is not clear about expectations and is continually changing the due dates for assignments. I hated this course!!!
He is the worst teacher i have ever taken. I have not used this website and have not posted any comments on this website but felt i needed to go out of my way to get people to not take him. Trust me, You will regret it.
Do not take shannon! you will regret every minute of it!
I took the online distance ed during a winter short session. The class was fairly difficult unless you knew exactly what he was looking for in the responses. In general, it's better to "over-explain" yourself rather than be vague. In short, he just wants you to "use your good brain" and think through things. Looking back on it, it was enjoyable!
I took this class Winter 2010 online, & it was the most challenging course I have taken. I ended up getting a B & that was because I STUDIED and READ everyday. Difficult course, but if you like a challenge then give him a shot you will definitely LEARN about psychology.
Oy! Professor Shannon is a nice guy. But you don't need to got to class until the day before a test. His lectures aren't particularly relevant to the tests. You MUST read the text to pass the tests. You will have one group project, and 2-3 papers. At the end you will have a 8pg research paper that is 5 pts and is 40% of grade. Not a fan.
Impossible to get an A, very very difficult to get a B, hard to get a C, slightly hard to get a D, and mildly easy to get an F.
Very very nice guy and flexible with due dates. Lectures are kinda useless. Doesn't believe in multiple choice, only essay questions. Very picky about having questions answered, but doesn't provide clear questions. Doesn't explain assignments well. Confusing teacher with good intentions...
I took his class in the spring as an 8 week class and it was horrible. He isn't clear, very picky but has good intentions. The book is EVERYTHING which is hard when you are taking many other classes. Very fast paced and has a research paper that is only 5 points which seems ridiculous to me. Take at your own risk.
I took his online class for the summer. BIG MISTAKE. There was no teaching, discussions. So if you're slow to understand READING MATERIAL best not enroll in the summer and online. His essay questions are difficult and it takes more than just writing, you need to show that you understand what you're talking about.
I just started his online class on monday and can already tell this is gonna be difficult. Get out while you can
I recieved an A in his class, so I know what I'm talking about. I got a 38/40 on the final, and a 18/20 on the midterm. Got high scores on everything else. You MUST study for the final and midterm in ADVANCE. Final and exam consisted of 4+ pages worth of memorization. midterm study guide: 5+ pages (back and front) long... final exam: 10+ pages...
I'm a senior at a university, but decided to take this Psychology class at Citrus for the credit and because I have always loved the topic. I should have read his reviews first. He is NOT helpful, he is rude and makes comments that are not encouraging at all. Do not take him. If you're already in his class, drop before it's too late.
I took his class recently. His midterm are hard, & so is the final. On top of that, he asks for a research paper, which is useless. He does not ask for homework. He repeats himself all the time, and he is very rude.

not much to say here
must study to do well
not too bad do well on ur rp and try not to miss to much class your grade will reflect on it trust me
one of the best at citrus. i have to say he really knows his stuff. i was inspired by his lectures for the most part and he is a really great guy to talk to. he is easy to catch at his office hours and by the way an A is 83 percent and up
ASK FOR HELP ON THE PAPERS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING YOU WILL FAIL THE TESTS ARE IMPORTANT
Nice professor
Let's get one thing straight he is not so easy. Grade heavily relies on the work you put into the class. Not too many A's in my class
I don't know why sO many people complain about him
Wow glad i got out
its college you do have to work for your grade. he doesnt always take attendance but it does help if you come to class and finish all the assignments ahead of time. would recommend. fun class
READD THE BOOK AND NOTES IN CLASS NEVER HURT ANYONE PAY ATTENTION IF YOU WANT A GOOD GRADE
qualified professor worth taking this class but it not cake if you ask me
he is ok i guess
psyc is a hard class but shannon is a good teacher
GREAT PROFESSOR. very helpful, respectful, and fair. VERY easy going and will help you with ANYTHINg you ask for. one of my favorite professors so far.
I had him for Spring 2011 semester, and this is the worst teacher I've ever had. Literally. He never took it seriously. There were times where we'd be in class for twenty minutes, and then he'd leave. He was never prepared. There is no homework. He is not clear on what he expects of you. Terrible teacher. Get out if you can.
Mr. Shannon means well, its just really hard to understand the concepts he is teaching. He is extremely helpful with any questions you have. No home work, 2 conceptional analysis, midterm, and final, and paper, he always gives you the topics for the tests. Grades papers with a pass/fail. you have to pass paper to pass class
Great guy, interesting but lacks A LOT of structure, he's very random. Class is simple but not for you if you're really interested and want to learn something. His assignments can be hard since he doesnt really clarify what he wants from you. Simple pass of fail, but its kind of hard when you dont know where he draws the line!
Ok, so we are trying to get the whole distance ed class Psych 101 to post. This teacher is absurd. We want to report him to the Dean. He not only lacks structure, he requires you to complete assignments without any explanation. As the other student said. We have midterms coming up and we have not a clue what to study for. Take Dr. Brown!
What a disorganized teacher! I am really regretting my decision to take him! I have to finish the class now, but I am expecting at C at best thanks to him! Oh, and you have to write essays for EVERYTHING!
This class was not difficult but not hard. I took the online class and he has a few homework assignments and two tests. He tells you what to study for the test and they're essay tests. You do have to study for in order to do well in this class. He was very helpful and even pushed back some deadlines for hw and research paper.
Had him as a study abroad professor last semester, and really enjoyed his class. He HATES multiple choice and sees it as the downfall of the educational system, so be prepared to write a lot of essays. Overall, he is a really interesting professor, and i really enjoyed talking to him, however he is not the most organized, so be prepared for that.
Online class is a disaster! Maybe campus class is different, but this is the most unorganized, uninformed class. There are 62 messages amongst all enrolled students, who are all just as lost in this class. This is my 5th online class and i have never had such a hard time connecting with the teacher and getting questions answered :((
Don't even bother taking his online class. He never, ever checks in and assigns homework once every 3 weeks. He never replies to emails and we had to have the dean of psychology intervene. Highly stressful since you never know what is happening. If you have to choose between taking no class and his class, opt for nothing.
I took this 8 week class online course and thought I was completely lost but I ended up with an A+! So I was not as lost as I thought! Do your best pay attention to details and make sure your final paper is exactly what he asks for! Incredible experience, he pushed me to succeed FAR beyond my expectations and for this I will be forever grateful! FYI an A is not a common occurrence for me :))
Awesome Professor, very Knowledgeable, Very inspirational, Humorous and engaging. Lectures where entertaining and helpful.... As far as organization goes-e i never had a problem with it. To be Honest, College requires one to keep track of our own assignments and due dates. He pushes students to actually learn rather than simple memorize and forget.
