This professor really cares about his students, university, classes, and colleagues. He is always doing something to improve the university for everyone. Dr. Sottile does not get any credit for all of his hardwork to make this place better for everyone.

I learned so much in his class. I enjoyed going to his class and I also enjoyed the group work. It nice to know that a professor encourages peer collaboration. He is willing to help the students become better classroom learners and teachers.

Great teacher! One of the best I've had at MU. Considering the subject matter, class is extremely fun. Pay attention to obscure details such as his family and pets, ect...they will get you bonus points on quizzes. Always know the date and section #.

I have learned so much this semester. I hope it doesn't end or that Dr. Sottile teaches more classes next semester so I can receive a quality education. There aren't many professors like him left in this school. Don't change Dr. Sottile!

He makes the class fun. You get to play games and he tells interesting stories. You do a lot of group work and everyone in the group gets the same grade, which sort of sucks sometimes. The tests are easy, he gives you all the questions the day before.

Funny man. always has interesting stories. learn a lot of new things (some you really dont need to know). miss an activity & want to make it up? write 4 page narrative outline on EACH chapter (ie:Ch.1-7=28 pages) for only 10 pts!! DONT MISS

He's a really funny man, but the stories about giving little boys a bath and stuff kinda freaked me out. Overall, he's not that bad. Pretty easy class if you go.

he is a wonderful teacher. Always interesting. He has some issues with OCD. Hand washer, thinks sex is disgusting etc. Dont bring up anything involving STD's, he can go on forever.

Dr. James Sottile is the best professor I ever had! He made me decide that my decision to enter teaching was the right choice! He is funny, informative and makes learning fun. I am honored to have had Dr. S and beg everyone to take his class.

This class is not as easy as everyone says it is. The professor is great and has a wonderful attitude and personality, but the work is actually hard. In short, this class is not a cake walk.

I was frightened at the beginning. Dr. Sottile is a great professor who made learning fun. Best professor at Marshall and you should try to take him!

Very Helpful and Nice Guy

I also was intimidated by the mighty Dr S. until I talked with him. He put me at ease and so far has fulfilled all my expectations. I enjoy him every time I have him. He is the best professor I have had so far at Marshall. Take his class!!!!!

He's awesome, he was kinda scary at the beginning, but now I look forward to going to that class each time because we always have so much fun in there, the tests are actually kind of hard though and "Jeopardy" is ridiculous sometimes, but other than that, i think he's great, and a really nice guy

Dr. Sottile is unlike anyone else existing. Seriously, he is a great professor. He isn't easy by any means, but nonetheless, I would take his class again in a heart beat. He's not so hard to look at, either :)

Dr Sottile ROCKS!!! I love playing "Jeopardy", it's like your having fun, but learning at the same time...it's incredible!!! Dr Sottile does an awesome Alex Trebek impersonation, just remember to phrase your answer in question form, or wear a helmet as he will throw his stapler at you, no lie.

Great teacher, very nice. You do learn a lot in class, but Jeopardy should not count as a grade. Do everything EXACTLY as he tells you to and you will be alright.

Dr. Sottile makes a point to intimidate his students. He is so cocky that he told several students that there was no way they would make an A (eventhough some did!) If he is so confident, he should get his math straight! He needs to get off his high horse and quit bragging about himself. Who cares!

Dr. Sotille is the coolest teacher. He knows his stuff, unlike some other professors. He is always there to help his students and he helps other peoples students. (I have a useless advisor and he has always met with me and he has helped me greatly) I think he is great!

AWESOME lectures I have his class for three hours everyday for a month, but it goes by so quick. He's brilliant but knows how to add fun to his class. I could take this man over and over again. The guy is absolutely hot, I mean, sexxxxy.

You will never have a dull moment in his class. Its full of stories, games, and ideas. When its over, you realize you learned something. Its actually a fun class.

Great teacher. I had this class in the summer for 3 hours a day and it was actually enjoyable to attend class. He keeps everything simple although sometimes he may confuse you with his stories. Makes you feel really anxious in class. Tests are ridiculous. If you like being stressed and having to get a 93.9 to receive an A take his class. Mostly group work. He'll put you in a group with people you will not get alongwith to ensure you will stressed. Plays mind games in class. Does exactly what he tells you not to do in a classroom.

This class is soooo easy. You are a little nervous the first day bc of the grading scale. however, u do almost everything in groups, he gives extra credit ALL THE TIME and he gives you every single question that is going to be on the test. your lectures consist of stories from his psychology clients! take him!!

Dr J rocks! I learned way more than I thought I would. He kind of reminds me of a cross between Pee Wee Herman, Gilligan, Nipsey Russell and Brad Pitt.

He is one of the greatest professors at Marshall. I absolutely loved his class. The tests are directly from the jeopardy game, so take good notes. He's super OCD, to the point that it's funny. His stories are hilarious! Don't let the first day scare you!

Great Professor! Very passionate about the subject and tells great stories to illustrate points. Very particular-so make sure you do everything exactly as he says, but other than that he is very nice and makes it fun.
