The class isn't so hard but he's not a very nice teacher or person at all. Kicked people out of class during a study session because couldn't answer the questions in the study guide. dont even think about asking for clarity in what he says, he'll just be upset that you asked. i think he likes to pick on people to make himself feel better.

A professor that actually expects students to study and learn something? Oh my god, right?! He's not a mean guy as others have said. Yes, he did kick people out during a study session because they weren't contributing and he felt they shouldn't benefit from the work of others. He's a good professor if you actually plan on being a college student.

Temperamental instructor (defensive, moody, sarcastic). Expects participation in EVERY class (or you get kicked out). Uses an enormous vocabulary which often confuses most students. Doesn't own up to his mistakes. Lectures on material not found in book (must do add'l research on web, etc.). Essays on every test. Vague grading structure.

He is an okay teacher, but it is definately not an easy "A" so be prepared to do a lot of studying and reading on your own. Expects VERY detailed answers on exam essay questions. The plus side is there is no homework, just 1 paper. If your not interested in political science at all then it might be a tough class. Overall though, he's a fair teacher

I did not have interest in taking this government class. Dr. Stone does is very patient and helpful. Participation is 20% so contribute once per class to get an A for that. The study guides pretty much tell you exactly what's on the test!! As long as you take the time out to find the answers and practice the essays you should get an A.

Yes, students are expected to participate; yes, students must read the books; and yes, your grade is dependent on the essay exams. Prof. Stone is an excellent, if fairly tough, professor of poli-sci. If you aren't familiar with politics, than you should make a stern effort to listen at lectures & take good notes. Exam questions are often taken straight from seemingly offhand comments at lecture. Don't flunk any exams, as there are few other graded assignments to compensate.

I am warning you right now do not take this professor literally do anything in your power to take another professor or class. I didn't expect this class to be easy based on all the reviews but I should have listened harder about not taking it. No amount of studying will help you improve your grade. The final exams average was below passing :/.

Drones on in lecturers and an extremely tough grader, lowest grade I've received in my major so far.

Exams are 20% of the grade, half of each exam grade is based on 2 essay questions (the other half, 20 multiple-choice questions). Gives a study guide for the multiple-choice and will grade drafts of the essay questions, which you can write on an index card (cheat sheet). Also grades "participation" (idk criteria), NOT AN EASY A, but not too bad.

Very awkward criteria which was unclear. Under resourced and undeveloped online resources. Massively excessive amounts of reading for the material required. Would not recommend him.
