Best math teacher on campus. If you want to learn and get a good grade just come to class and pay attention to what he goes over. No need to do any of the practice problems unless you are not moving at the speed of the class. FUNNY ALSO!!!

I will say he makes this class fun. How many people do you talk to that say math is fun. Sullivan is the best professor i have had so far at sierra college. If his class is full wait till next semester. Its worth the wait. Class ends early on some dayz but dont count on it every day.AWESOMEPROFFESOR

I really an enjoyed Sullivan's class. I could care less about statistics but somehow he makes it interesting. Very sweet and funny guy. Somewhat shy at first but by the end he's very outgoing and tells great stories. Highly recommend!!

I developed a crush on this bear of a man throughout the semester. He is very clear on what he wants. Don't bother to take this class without a TI-83 calc, though. He posts every lesson on the internet beforehand and there are only 4 tests a semester averaging about 5 questions each. I didn't feel stressed from this class once. Take him!!!

Sullivan is the best statistics teacher at Sierra College. Highly recommend buying a TI-83 Calculator because his lecture notes are hands on using the TI-83 (Buy TI-84 Plus for a section in stats that the TI-83 can't do). He makes STATS a piece of cake. No HW (only for clarity). 4 Exams 90% & Group Project 10% of your grade. SIGN UP EARLY & FAST!!!

A great teacher. He makes you actually want to go to something as dull as a statistics class. The class is pretty easy, because a lot of the work is done on a calculator. He is knowledgeable, funny, friendly, and very helpful.

This teacher is really really good. He uses power point slides to show you how the work is done.Goes over a lot of examples that work well. Then before test gives a practice test which is what the test will look like but problems will be differnt. Can use one page of notes front and back. stats is already easy and this teacher makes it even easier.

Don't bother taking stats with anyone else. Sullivan uses real world examples and simple language to teach the stuff, plus his powerpoint lectures make it a cinch to follow along. Don't bother trying to read the book because this guy knows what he's talking about!

Very good teacher. Makes stats very clear and easy. I didn't need to use the textbook at all. His lecture notes are available online. You get one sheet of notes on every exam. The group project I thought he graded kind of tough, but everything else was easy. Just make sure you study the notes before the tests and you'll be fine. Thanks!

He gives you a cheat sheet for every test, and the exams are just like the practice exams. very easy if you come to class & pay attention. Do NOT take stats with any other prof, he is wicked rad! There are several perks to taking this class, but you'll have to take it to find out what. Definitely worth it in the end! He is also very funny, flexible, makes math bearable, and goes above and beyond what most of the prof's do that I have encountered at Sierra. He's just an absolute doll.

Quite possibly the easiest class I have ever taken. I don't think I learned anything and still got an A. All you learn is how to plug numbers into a calculator.

Prof Sullivan is an awesome instructor! Class entertaining with class participation! Online site-daily class notes to follow along with, exam reviews, & class project example. Easy beginning stats class- punch the numbers into the calc with the given formula and you get your answer- but you do need to somewhat know what everything means for exams.

Professor Sullivan is the best professor at Sierra College. He makes an incredible effort to make class fun (he's hilarious) yet you learn so much at the same time. While other say he explains things, I would have to venture that he's a bit winded in his explanations. Sometimes I felt like I clearly understood where he was going and then, 30 mins later I would be lost because he would be lost on a tangent. 4 Tests, 1 group project, and book and attendance are not mandatory.

Professor Sullivan is the only Statistic teacher i would take. He is very helpful, and the class is very easy. Its critical to pay attention and participate. The exams are more than straight forward. SO EASY! Super boring though! No book required and 100% of lectures are online so no attendence required! You have no required homework or textbook! Just 4 tests, 6 questions a piece, and you get to use one page of notes!

If Math is not your thing, you should definitely take ONLY Prof. Sullivan. I absolutely hate math, but he made it bearable. Some people are meant to teach and some are meant to teach specific subjects. Mr. S is meant to do both! He helps students grasp the language of math without confusion or stress. Math isn't a subject for every student; however, he will help you pass and probably end up with a better grade than you anticipated.

He has a long waiting list, because he is the best! If you have any trepidation regarding math, this teacher explains it so well, and guess what?! There is no book, no ALEKS program, and there is no on campus FINAL!! woohoo! No other online Stats teacher does that. You just have to: study the videos, do the hmwk, practice tests and buy a TI84!

All I can say is this professor is AMAZING! He sure does know his stuff! He goes into full detail with all the concepts that are covered. Since I took the course online during the summer, it was 4 exams and 4 quizzes. NO FINAL!:)He responds to emails super quick which is a plus. I would definitely recommend taking him. Amazing instructor! He is so clear and thorough and helps every student tackle such a difficult subject with confidence and understanding. He has recently been criticized by being "not challenging" but the fact is he is just a great teacher. His online class is perfectly structured and way easy to follow. He assigns practice problems, which he gives the answers to and then gives a quiz on the exact problems that you have the answers to. Also gives practice exams + answers, and the exams are the same just different numbers and wording but same solving pattern.

I took stats online and before it began i was super nervous about it, but i soon realized there was nothing to be nervous about. His online videos are very easy to follow, & the class packet had the power points & questions in it. 4 exams, not too hard. I took this class from another teacher and failed. I thought I was too dumb to understand statistics. Then I took this class from Professor Sullivan. He explained things so clearly. It turns out that I am smart enough to understand statistics. I am so grateful to Professor Sullivan for making me realize that I am capable of completing my degree.

No stress class, math is my least favorite subject but I did fine in this class. Study the practice exams and you will be fine. You don't need to buy the text book you can just down load the pages you need online from canvas.

Professor Sullivan is a student's dream come true. He's very open and friendly to every student he has and is able to explain the material in a way that relates to something the student is already familiar with. Group projects are minimal and the lectures are very easy to follow as long as you pay attention.

I took Prof. Sullivan Fall 2015 online. He was quick to respond to any questions . I must add his lectures are EXCEPTIONAL! I love that they are a video, as I am a visual learning and you can following along if you print or buy the notes to follow. His quizzes are exactly what you learned in lecture. I wish he taught other math courses. Sigh**

Professor Sullivan has set his class up in a fabulous way. He offers many sample problems, online guided lessons, and study packets that fully prepare you for the exams. He is also very responsive and offers clear assistance when you ask questions. Taking stats made me so nervous - but his thorough online materials made all the difference.

Fabulous instructor. Thorough instructions on process and detailed instructions on how to enter information into the calculator. Took this class online and although it took time to go through lectures, exercises and reviews it all paid off when it was time to take the tests. I highly recommend this instructor for statistics. Professor Sullivan is an excellent instructor. Be prepared to pay very close attention to detail as missing the stats symbology will lose you points even if you calculate correctly.

This is NOT my subject. I worked for that A- to the very end. However, I recommend this class. The quizzes/exams are right from the textbook. If you're confused, Prof. Sullivan is prompt (email+grading), and if you're still confused, he'll explain again. There are weekly quizzes on the hw and DB posts, but hw is rarely more than a few questions.

Thank your lucky stars if you manage to get Professor Sullivan for your statistics teacher! His online videos are extremely thorough and he truly cares about his students.

I took Professor Sullivan's online class and it was great. His lectures were very clear and put things as simply as he could. You knew exactly what you needed to know and what work you needed to complete each week. There were quizzes after each section, but not hard. He gave study guides for each exam that were very helpful. Highly recommend!

Dr. Sullivan makes it absolutely impossible for anyone to fail this class. Attendance is not mandatory nor necessary as he has uploaded videos of him working out the in class problems up online. Open note exams that are extremely similar to the practice exams, homework is not graded but encouraged for the extra practice, and one group project.

Professor Sullivan is great at explaining statistics slowly and clearly to those who might have trouble with math. I was scared when I found out that 90% of the grade depended on tests. IT'S NOT BAD! His grading criteria is clear. Do the homework and study the review, you'll be fine. The tests are LITERALLY the same as the review! Different data.

I am not a math person what so ever and Statistics, in general, is a very difficult class for me. Sullivan makes this class so much fun and he teaches it so well! Tests are pretty much the exact same as review sheets, he allows one-page front back of notes on the exam, there are 4 exams 6 problems each, and one group project at the end of the sem.

Professor Sullivan is very clear on how he grades, he has his own rubric. 90% of points are based on 4 exams and 10% is a group project. this was for the stats on campus class, he makes class interesting and enjoyable, he has a great sense of humor and easy to get along with. You will need a TI84 calculator if you want to pass, that's what he uses.

I tested into the lowest math class. I dont think wouldve passsed stats with any other professor as I have always struggled with math . His online lectures are so easy to follow and he explains everything clearly. He even shows you how to input data into TI-84. All 4 exams were online. NO FINAL! Youll be extremely lucky if u get Sullivan.

Professor Sullivan is one of the best Math professors at Sierra College. The way he teaches Statistics is easy to understand. He breaks everything down in units and has many examples that help understand the problem.

The best Stats teacher at Sierra! Daily quizzes are how he takes attendance and are on what you're learning that day in class, so don't miss. While I used a textbook it is not necessary because he makes it available on Canvas for download. His grading is clear he uses a 0 to 5 scale. Also, Professor Sullivan doesn't do Extra Credit.

Prof Sullivan was great! I'm not great at math, but I got an A with him. He also posts his lectures & examples online so you can rewatch them if you choose. I was nervous at first since exams are 80% of your grade, but as long as you practice (the optional homework & reviews are great tools) & listen in class, you're all set. He's very kind.

He has a wonderful personality/very passionate about Statistics. The homework isnt required but it helped and he required the T1-83 or T1-84 CE (color edition) Texas Instrument calculator.

BEST TEACHER ever! Math is NOT my thing but with him passed it. The test is like practice test so if you write it as your page of notes youll pass with at least a C. I dont know why people are complaining: show up, follow directions, format response on test his way. He simplifies everything just press buttons on a calculator doesnt get easier

The class itself wasn't bad, if you do the work and put in 100% effort you will pass with an A. The tough part was doing it all online and getting questions answered through email. Tough grader, over answer and over explain your reasoning or no credit. Only grades 1 of 6-8 hmwk questions, if you miss it you loose 2 of 5 points. Lots of hmwk.

I just completed Dr. Sullivan's 8 week SUMMER ONLINE course. Earned an "A" because he was organized, caring, clear in his communications and instruction videos. Hey I'm from the UC so I'm used to taking multiple classes simultaneously that are FAST-paced and demanding like this SUMMER ONLINE course! Stats was challenging-it took time and hard work!

Took this class over the summer. Hes great at explaining the material, His YouTube lectures are kinda boring tho. The review tests he gives you are exactly like the graded exams. Responds fairly quick to messages.

I was really nervous to take this class but he did well to explain the lessons in a simple manner. Usually just 2 hw assignments due each week with a discussion board. His reviews that are required to be turned in look almost exactly like his exams. He also understood when I needed to turn in some assignments late. Really recommend taking him!

I love his class. He is very friendly. He make videos for lectures and don't use books for online classes. I would definitely take his class again. He helps a lot with homeworks and answers any questions you have.

Sullivan was very good. The homework is EXACTLY the same as the tests. Just watch the videos, do the assignments, really try to understand the material, and you will get an 'A'. Not a very time consuming class, its two assignments per week that can both be done in a day in about 2 hours. Highly recommend for stats

I am currently taking Stats and so far I am enjoying the class. Professor Sullivan responds almost immediately when I reach out to him. He always provide examples for each problems which makes it easier for you to complete the homework assignment. Theres also peer teachers that can help tutor you. I am glad I took his class!

Professor Sullivan's class is extremely straightforward. His lessons are under 15 minutes long (most are 4-8 minutes) and his homework matches the lessons. That being said, he gives 4 hours for a 2 hour math test, and the math tests are EXACTLY like the practice exam that you take beforehand (review/practice test is never graded). Amazing class!

He had great lecture videos that were straightforward and just like the HW. If your math is 100% correct but one word in the description is wrong, you WILL get marked down, so be careful. Grades one problem on the HW. Weekly you have 2 HW assignments and 1 discussion. 4 tests. Exam review is very helpful. He is very willing to help you. Good prof.

Everything was very straightforward. I took it as a summer class and it wasn't too much work. He is a very picky grader he will mark you down for one wrong word and only picks one homework question to grade, which has its pros and cons. He gives enough examples to complete the homework and test reviews, which are very similar to the exams.

Good class to take online. He gives lecture videos where he thoroughly explains how to do the concept and 2 assignments per week and a discussion board. He is very happy to help you. Tests are exactly like the review. Only slight downside is he picks a random problem to grade on homework and uses that to gage your final score for the assignment.

No textbook required! No need to buy a calculator, you can use ClassCalc for free and he shows you how. He responded quickly to emails. Like others mentioned, he does grade strictly and on a 5 pt system. For ex, I got the units wrong on one problem and he gave me a 4/5 for the whole assignment. 1 DB, 2 assignments a week. Very manageable workload.

there is about 1-2 assignments with a weekly discussion each week. he has video examples of how to do each problem that are extremely helpful when completing homework. everything you need is all in the modules and u will need to buy a ti-84 calc. you need to do the work but he is a very kind professor who is willing to help.

I didn't take a math for 3 years. This class was light work. Not a lot of homework and the lectures which are not too long make the homework easy. All work is very similar to the examples in the lecture. There are only 4 test which are exactly like the reviews. Only 2 assignments and a easy discussion board a week.

Great teaching style! I hadn't taken math in 2 years & still passed stats with an A. However, no offense to him, his voice gets a bit droney during lectures. I watched them in 1.25x. Make sure to word your answers to assignments well; watch the example videos for help on wording answers. Super easy class if you take notes for lectures.

As much as there was no homework, I did surprisingly well in the class. Not only did passing this class give me the confidence that I'm actually good at math, but that there's some teachers out there who actually care for their craft and want us to succeed. Only downside was that the class was set at 7:45AM, but I don't blame the guy. He's a 10/10!

Professor Sullivan was GREAT! Has a clear grading criteria. Actual tests are exactly like the review which he has videos for on solving. Tough grader so make sure your homework & test answers are correct. Readily available to answer any questions. Anything above an 80% is an A. Discussion boards were very helpful/ engaging- not just a chore .

Incredibly caring. I am terrible at math and after the first unit exam I had a C. I reached out to him for help and we ended up having zoom calls a couple times a week where he would walk me through the problems. He is VERY receptive to students that reach out and ask for help and he doesn't make you feel bad about it. 100% recommend!

Professor Sullivan's MATH13 class is straightforward and manageable. The lecture videos are concise, and the homework aligns well with the content. While he grades strictly, the exam reviews are very helpful. I found Unstuck AI to be a great supplementary tool for study prep along with the class resources.

Geniue teacher, I did get a B in the class but that's because I was siting at a low A and then I thought I did perfect on the final and I did not. You can ask him for help on anything and he will explain it, The quizzes are the homework and he is great at explaing them all.

Professor Sullivan was super nice !! He was straight forward with lectures and took the time to get around to everyone and see if anyone needed any extra help. He was quick to respond to emails as well and graded your assignments the day after turned in. He gives 2nd opportunities which is great ! Overall such a great class I highly recommend!

Very nice professor. Presents material in an easy way to understand. I dropped stats the semester before but ended with an A this past semester. Definitely would take again and would recommend this professor to students.
