he is like the sweetest man in the world!!! he takes time to help everyone in the class out, even if he has to repeat himself alot. he goes really slow, but its okay because u learn a whole bunch and at a steady pace. he's awesome!!!!

Mr. Walker does the best job to reach out to the students for help you need and he makes math more clear. I will warn you if you talk in class, he will seperate you. He's done it to me and I hardly ever talk in class. It thought it was rediculous. If your cell phone rings he will deduct points from your test. You'v been WARNED!!

This math teacher is far the best teacher ever! It's not easy, but he makes it simple as possible. If you compare the comments w/ the other Math teacher in TCC, this is the teacher you want to pay. It is very hard to describe Mr. Walker. He is such a fantastic teacher. Math is not my strongest subject and he helped me pass. I have set up my whole schedule next semester around his so I can take another class with him. If you have failed/ think you are going to I reccomend his class.

Highly recommended. This was the first math class I had taken in 20 years. James Walker doesn't skip steps and if very detailed. There is homework but without it test would be impossible. Don't wait until his deadline to to do homework. Do it right after class or ASAP or you will be in the Math Lab. Make sure to turn off Cell phone or else!!!

What can I say except he is very helpful and excellent teacher. I had to withdraw from the class due to family matters that keeps me from studying and doing good. Go to class and do your homework. Tests aren't really from the homework though. Tests are on multiple chapters which I didn't like. No extra credits whatsoever. Very hard

Mr. Walker is one of the nicest guys I've met, however, I had to completely give up my life while taking this class. Homework assigned 3x a week/average of 2hrs each to complete, tests only had 18 Qs so can't miss much, the final is comprehensive. But if you had any questions, he would stay late and explain step by step for you.

I enjoyed his class very much. His little tricks he used to remember details that he shared were great. I'm going to miss him.

Mr. Walker cracked me up, I miss him. He has exactly two shirts; he's like a character in a movie. He was the most heplful math teacher I've ever had. The best teacher on campus! You do need to show up! He makes his quizez easy but you have to be there! He will stay untill midnight if you need help!

Mr. Walker strives to make sure his students understand the material. He does not expect you to remember everything from your last class. He is very helpful and clear in explanations.

Took his online course. Neither easy nor hard...you do the work, you get your grade. Pretty basic. He uses MyMathLab online for homework. If you do the work on time and review for his tests (multiple choice, 16-20 questions each, 37 q's on final), you get an A. Which I did. Book was optional for online class.

I have always had trouble with math...in fact I completely loathe it.My aunt has taken it four times and has not passed.He has strict rules,and I was scared of his monotone but by the end of class I had to know if he was going to teach the next class I needed. He is so willing to help and if you do the work you'll pass!

Class was very easy. No Textbook required in the course I took. Very helpful. He is a little weird but overall a great teacher. Have enrolled in another one of his classes this coming semester. I recommend him.

Not sure what the previous rater is referring to. Mr. Walker was in constant communication with us. He posted announcements, responded to e-mails and phone calls, and offered to meet with me or others for one-on-one help. He responded quickly to discussion board posts also. The course was very tough taken online, but that was not his fault.

Mr. Walker is very serious and expects the same of his students. It took a couple weeks for me to get used to his demeanor, but now I really appreciate that he doesn't rush through his teaching. He makes math understandable. We took our tests on mymathlab untimed, which was very nice. I would highly recommend!

I am terrible at Math. However, I can work. If you are serious and want to do well Mr. Walker will help you. He is the best Math teacher ever. Do not be afraid the first day of class. I took this class online, and I only recommend taking online if you are decent at math. He responds quickly to e-mail. You don't need to buy the book it's online in PDF format, but I thought the book sucked, so I used an old 1 I had; however, you will need to purchase my mathlab access. I thought the homework was TOUGH, but the tests were EASY.

He is a fantasic math teacher. MAKE SURE you study the PRE and POST test on My Math Lab. He WILL NOT tell you, but the tests come straight from this. If you work these enough times you will remember the test. However, none of us were prepared for the final.Keep your test grade and HW grade up by studying the way I said, because the final is "hard."

I took him for 350 & college alg. Hes The best math teacher Ive ever had & possibly 1 of the best teachers Ive ever had. He wants you to succeed but isn?t willing to give an easy A. He was always patient with my frequent visits to his office hours & was very understanding when I had a family emergency which is hard to find in a college professor.

He's a great professor. Very helpful. Wants you to succeed. Very direct. DOES NOT tolerate cell phones or texting in class. Does not tolerate ANY type of disturbance. Stays with your progress throughout class. Doesn't require you to attend, but does give daily pop quizzes.

Homework 15%. Final 25%. 4 tests that make up remaining percent. He comes off super strict on the first day but he wants you to succeed. He does not tolerate phones, gum, etc during class. He is VERY HELPFUL. I failed this class with another professor and made an A in his class. The coursework is HARD but he is extremely helpful!

Online, 16-week. I'm sure Mr. Walker is a decent professor, but as far as the distance learning classes he teaches the MML Web-software really does all the work. I did have a transportation issue that prevented me from being able to take a test. When he says, "Don't wait until the last minute." He means it. I got no extension and received a zero.

Hmmmm...Mr. Walker gave us a week to take each test and no time limit. Pretty generous. MyMathLab had videos, animations, PowerPoints, textbook, etc. More help than I had time to use!!! Online math is tough, but Mr. Walker responded to my calls and e-mails immediately, and posted weekly announcements. I saw him on the discussion board too.

GREAT GUY! He is always available to his students. He always takes your calls, e-mails and will discuss things before, during and after class. I am a horrible math student and I got a D. But, that was my fault not his. He tried to explain it, I just wasn't getting it. He is great with the students and as long as you make an effort he is generous.

Super nice guy, I took this course during Maymester and made a B, it was hard but not because of him. He let us go take tests in the Math Lab during class, if you were late or absent he made sure you had everything you needed. Everything is done via MathLab. Helps you with any questions you have.

The best math instructor I have ever had. I have never rated a professor before, but I felt the need to do so. He makes everything very clear. The first day of class you will think he has a lot of crazy rules, but stick it out. He lets you do the homework as much as you want for a week until you get a 100%. HE LETS YOU USE A GRAPHING CALCULATOR!

A really nice Prof. Helps when asked, I took the CAI class, and he helped alot. He also cared about each student. he learned our names and needs and i think that is important in learning math. I liked the style of the class. would definately take him again!

He is very patient and clear in explaining how to work out problems, and is always happy to explain the concepts if you're interested. He is very upfront about what you need to do to prepare, and if you study beforehand, you'll definitely make an A. Enforces good classroom behavior!

I love Mr. Walker. I don't think that I couldv'e made it through math without him. I tried taking another teacher had to drop the class and just wait until Mr. Walker teached 1324. I will surely miss his jokes and his sense of humor, and how he's so caring for his students well being in his class.

I took his online class and it was pretty easy. He gives three assignments a week and a test every few weeks. DO ALL OF THE ASSIGNMENTS! They will prepare you for the tests. Sometimes I saw some of the same questions that were on the homework on the test. Not to mention you can't fail a homework assignment unless you just don't try. Easy class.

I had Mr. Walker for MATH 0302 thru 1314. He took a subject that was hard for me & made it possible to understand & pass. I don't think that I could've made it without him. His tests are from homework assignments & lectures. He doesn't put problems on any test that’s not been covered. It’s a good idea to complete homework & attend lectures.

Amazing teacher! Everything that was covered was on the test and homework. He likes to challenge you to think a lot which helped me actually learn and retain the information from lectures. Do the homework! Easy and all ties in with the final. Great teacher.

Mr. Walker was the best teacher for this subject. If you are one of those people that HATE HATE math take this guy for 1314. His teaching methods was so helpful and he is so nice and considerate to his students. He doesn't dumb down the math material but makes it for anybody to understand it. NO CELL PHONES. They don't lie, he was legit about that but made the environment was easier to learn :) I liked it but if you can't stay away from your phone for an hour & 20 minutes don't take him.

Take this course! The work load may be more than you are willing to put into it, but if you do the work you will do great! The first part of the semester is far more difficult than the latter. I would recommend doing the test reviews a few times, and you will make an A on the tests. Good luck!

Took class online. A LOT of work each week. 3 homework assignments with 20 to 50 problems in each, roughly around 70-120 problems due each week. Very straightforward, do the work no late work accepted. textbook is online. Make sure you have enough time to do the homework and study the test. 5 test total including final. Pretty much teach yourself.

I took the "self taught" class on campus. He is very nice and helpful. He did a few examples for each section to help us and would answer any questions we had. There are 4 tests and the final. We also did 13 quizzes (one question per quiz). Do the homework. Do the test reviews a couple of times and you should do good on the test. Great instructor

Took for Maymester. His CAI class is basically self-teach so you're in control. You don't need a hard cover text, just mymathlab. There are plenty homework assignments, 4 tests, & a final. Practice tests help A LOT!!! He makes sure that you understand material & reasons w/ you if problems arise. Lots of classroom rules, but it's beneficial to you.

You need to act quickly as the classes seem to fill up quickly and the reason is that he is great. He is very good at getting you involved in the class work which makes the semester go by quickly and the material to not seem so hard. He sets the expectations of the class early on which helps set the tone for a great learning environment.

Prof. Walker is probably the best mathematics teacher I've ever had. He makes his expectations very clear at the beginning of the semester, and scares about half the class to switch to another section. After that if you come to class, do the reading and assignments you should do fine. He is very helpful, clear and responds to emails quickly.

I'm glad Mr. Walker was clear about expectations at the beginning of the semester. I did more work than I thought possible, so don't take him if you want an easy time. BUT, I did learn a lot. I feel like I accomplished something.

Good teacher, cares about his students passing. Tries his best to help you out through tough sections. took him for algebra the second time around, went from failing to almost getting an "A". He goes at a very manageable pace and doesn't overwhelm you with info. He's very clear in his lectures, if you're not sure, he'll explain in simple terms.

Professor Walker allowed you to do your homework assignment as many times as it took to make a 100. That allowed me to learn the content and get prepared for the test. He also provided optional practice tests to take before you took the real test.

Math is my worst subject ever! Professor Walker is a nice older man and he is always willing to help. I DO NOT recommend taking his class if it is using ALEKS because you pretty much teach yourself online and he is there if you need help. With ALEKS there are only 3 tests that are not mutliple choice & they are a high % of your grade.

Professor Walker was great. This was my first math class since high school 15 years ago. The class is very fast paced, but he does a great job of explaining the content as simple as possible. All online homework was optional, but he would replace your lowest test grade with your homework grade (easy 100). Final was a group test with whole class.

Great lectures. Makes Algebra as easy to understand as possible. Very responsive and helpful. May let you re-take one bad test. Homework unlimited tries. Give a whole week to take the test. Sci calculator allowed in test. Only downside is he locks the door at the start of class so be on-time

I took the online version of this class, and let me tell you it was definitely a lot of work. Grades consist of homework assignments , 4 tests, and a final exam. Professor Walker was very easy going, just make sure to do assignments and tests by the due date.

Mr. Walker's lectures helped make the material easier to understand since the book was poorly written. I've been out of school for a while, so it was nice to see a professor who cared about his students. Not easy, but fair.

Overall a good teacher. I took him online asynchronous so there was not much communication between us. I recommend doing every homework and getting at least a 70 or you will be notified of excessive absences. DO THE REVIEWS. That helped a lot with the tests

I was pleasantly surprised by how accessible Professor Walker is! Very easy to talk to, helpful, and responded to calls and emails right away. It's been a while since I've been in school, so I'm rusty--can't blame that on him. Lots of help available, just wish I had more time.

Homework is 20 questions or less, so you should make a 100%. No makeups or late work, but he let's you retake one test. The professor helped me learn math, made it easy and understandable. I really enjoyed taking this class, and the material he provided was very helpful.

My husband and I enrolled in his class hoping to finish together. Unfortunately, I was facing really serious surgery right off the bat, but the professor tried to work with me for weeks. My health took a turn for the worse, so I had to drop. But I appreciate everything Mr. Walker did to accommodate my situation. Hope to take him in the future.

I took Walker in the evening for two algebra courses. He's a great lecturer. When he's explaining concepts, he makes them clear and understandable. He's very respectful and caring to his students. A great professor.

Mr. Walker is a really nice guy whose willing to help you understand any of the material, however God forbid you get sick. Any missed lectures/notes must be given to you by classmates and if you get sick and miss a test (like I did) the "makeup" is an end of year retake given to all the students for their worst test grades.

Mr. James Walker has been an instructor over 20+ years. I took him for two semesters to pass this course. It is a STEM Course. His lecture which he allowed me to listen in (3x) lecture he teaches. Those lectures are word to word same. Very understanding to Night School Adult Students. My Math Lab software used. In fact he only teaches nights

First the Instructor is TOP Notch. I highly recommend him. He knows his stuff. He teaches it great. He really prepares you for passing. I have a very difficult time in this subject. I have been going to school since 1982 and he is far better than any instructor I ever had in any college and any state I have taken college courses in.

Professor Walker is great at explaining concepts, but the course does have a lot of work. Using Unstuck study along with the textbook really helped me stay on top of the material.

Mr. Walker is always willing to take a few steps back to answer any questions or to clear up any confusion. He's really good at explaining whatever he's talking about! You need a lot of time to study and visit the tutoring center.
