I just took this professor in session A, and I would advise anyone who takes Mgt 218 to take Mr. Hallek. He knows what he is talking about and knows how to get his message across. I will remember stats for along time. Bush '04!

He's super great. Loves to talk about cars, guns, anything country. Down to earth and easy to get along with. I'll definately take him again. If you read the chapters from the book and remotely understand them the tests will be a breeze.

He goes a little fast through the lesson, but he makes sure everyone understands before going onto to something else. DON'T ASK FOR A CURVE.

He is always very willing to help. He makes sure that everyone understands everything. If it wasn't for his teaching ability I would probably be failing the class. If you have the option to take Mr. Halleck you should definitely take it.

Great professor, as well as a great person. Doesn't teach unnecessary B.S...but gets to the point. Has a gift for teaching because he is so patient. He dealt with annoying ppl who talked during the whole lesson and proceeded to ask him to repeat himself.

Good teacher, Easy to understand, easy to talk too. He is very good at conveying usefull examples of the topic to help you understand better. I learned more about guns and cars then i would have in shop class... I would take him agian in a heart beat.

GREAT, I mean GREAT professor! So helpful, wants everyone to know the material and he knows how to teach it so you understand it. The class is not easy, but he makes it easy for you to learn, HW every class makes you study and remember better! LOVE HIM!

Straight-forward, project is rough!! Tests aren't too bad. I had him for a 6:30-9:00 and we ALWAYS got out early!! Gives a review for tests. : )

Great professor!! He doesn't make you feel stupid. Very down to earth. Knows statistics isn't easy so he is willing to help before or after class with you. You have to go to EVERY class though!!

Dr. Halleck is a great guy and is very knowledgeable about marketing. He relates to the student through stories of hunting, cars, etc. The girls in the class just love him to death ... that great big ole teddy bear!!!

Mr. Halleck is a wonderful professor to take for MGT 218. He teaches things in a way that makes them easy to understand, assigns homework similar to exam questions to prepare students, and is willing to help any student who wants to succeed in his class. GREAT CLASS, GREAT PROFESSOR! :)

He is a great overall prof and probably the best in the college of business. He's not a Ph.D so his ego isn't too big, so he actually teaches the material instead of spending all of his time on research. He's just a regular guy. I really wish my dept. (Accounting) had more professors like him. He said he might not be at MU this fall.

It's a difficult class but he's a great guy and and will clarify anything if you ask. ATTEND CLASS, DO ALLLLL H/W & REVIEW THE PROBLEMS!! Allows formula sheets for all three tests which is a MAJOR help-material gets very hard. Class consists of three tests: the 1st-easy, the 2nd and 3rd-review, review, review!! Take advantage of the E.C. too

I have had Halleck for three class MGT 218,MKT 340, and MGT 320. He is a great person and a really good techer. Classes are fun and gives bonus points for coming. He will do everything he can to help you understand what he is teaching and NOT make you feel dumb. I highly recommend taking him. I know if I get the chance I will take him again.

Attendance required, but a fun class to come to. Tests are 70some question multiple choice. 3-4 pop quizzes at the end of classes per semester and a report which everyone got a B or higher on. Not a tough class and kinda fun.

How can anyone call Mr. Halleck a prick? YOU should look in the mirror you phallic symbol!!! Mr. Halleck is great! He EVEN allows us to challenge questions (not argue)for additional points .. How many instructors do that!!! Some people should not be in college and obviously at least one of those people is in MKT 340 .... Halleck Rules!!!!

He is very easy, and his lectures are semi-interesting, especially in MKT. If you can't handle him, you really don't belong in college. He is sooo much easier than Ha from what I hear. If you are an ACC or FIN major, he will probably be one of the easiest profs you ever have. For MKT, just study the vocab and come to class. MGT 218 is harder.

Halleck is just a really great guy. I had him four three classes and I loved them all. Classes are fun tests are not very hard. I think every should take him for aleast one of his classes. Halleck, if your reading this your the MAN!!!

Ignore the previous review. He tells you exactly what pages you need to know for the tests, just know the vocabulary on these pages and you will do well on the tests. Mr. Halleck is a nice, down to earth, outdoorsy guy and he does a good job of relating the course material to the real world. Take him. No way to get less than a B if you go to class.

Nice guy but he grades too hard, takes too many points off on problems on tests, unusual grading method...not the easiest of classes...statistics on steriods!! Be prepared to memorized a lot!! and study!!!!

Recommended by me...already. I think he appears easy because of his personality, but it seems as if he offers more real-world marketing in which we ALL need because my other classes do not pertain to REAL life...and trust me, I've lived in REAL life! I appreciate him after I've had the other prof's at MU:(

For statistics, I am sure he is the best to take. No, the class isn't EASY, but he is extremely FAIR in his grading and assessments. You get a formula sheet on all exams, which is pretty much all stats is. Additionally, he is very helpful and has a great personality. Take!

Mr. Halleck's class was very fun. Alot of people have trouble with his tests, but i did pretty well, and so did any1 that put a sufficient amount of study time in it. Country Project is a bit time consuming but pretty fun. Def take this guy, he knows the subject and is a great guy.

Really nice guy. I thought his lectures were good, even though he would go off topic. The class was hard because of the online exams. He had us do a book review and present on it. It was really easy. Also gave quizzes in class and at home on Wall Street Journal topics. I would recommend even though the tests were tough

You miss one question on a test, and you end up with a 60 on the second test. I had a 100 on the first test and all the hw. One question ruined my grade. But he's a good teacher, but his test questions are worth too many points.

This is the guy you want to take for MGT 218. Is very easy to understand in class and will gladly help you with anything you don't understand. Exams are 5 questions (the final is 3) and you are allowed a equation sheet and any charts on the test. Goes off topic a lot with stories or current events. Classes can sometimes turn into educated debate.

My favorite professor! I was nervous about stats because I'm bad at math but Halleck did such a great job! He took things very slow and always repeated until everyone understood. Just ask questions!! 3 exams and 5 bonus points on the final to everyone. Homework everyday but it really helps you in the long run. Fun and interesting person!

Great guy! Takes a ridiculous subject & clarifies it to the point that you can understand. Do your homework and don't miss class. Super funny and laid-back. Ask questions, he will clarify. Doesn't teach from book but uses his own knowledge of the material. Only 3 grades - all tests but he allows a formula sheet which is all you need. Love him!

Halleck is a great teacher. He tries to make sure that everyone understands the materials if you ask questions. His tests can sometimes be difficult but he grades fairly. You get to use a formula sheet. If you do the homework and ask questions it is a fairly easy class.

I was afraid coming in to this class considering how I barely made a C in MTH127. That being said, this was one of the best teachers I've ever had. He teaches everything clear and concisely, always answering every question asked. Halleck is one of my favorite professors I've had in college, so much that I'm taking him for MGT419 in the fall.

He has been teaching business statistics for years and it shows. He does very well with explaining difficult concepts. You're allowed a cheat sheet for each test, and as long as you know what's on the cheat sheet, you'll do well on the test. My only complaint is that he goes on tangents in class. Better like Tea Party politics, too.

Class wasn't easy, but he tries his best to help out and make it interesting. Only three tests, with the final being worth 100 points and 1 question alone being worth 60 points. His stories are hilarious though. Definitely would recommend.

I was told this would be a good professor. He is a good professor, he does grade a little tough though. tests are like 5 questions each worth a lot of points. I love math and I'm an A B student, however it looks slim i'll pass his class.

It is a tough class and it is NOT GOING TO BE EASY. Mr. Halleck explains concepts well, but there are only 3 tests and homework. It is not impossible to pass this class; however, you will have to work a lot to get a good grade. So prepare. Do not fall behind, do not skip class, ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS and study-study-study!

In MGT320 his lectures are pretty good i do tend to learn a lot, although he tends to share a lot of stories that tie back to MGT , as far as test is a little more difficult you will definitely need the book because just studying the slides will not work.

Mr. Halleck is truly one of the best professor I've had at marshall. He feels when the class needs a break from math and he makes a small talk. He will help you in any way he can. Class is difficult, especially if you aren't that good with math, but he makes it as easy as it could ever get

Interesting lectures with great stories that keep you interested. He keeps grades updated and gives plenty of time for assignments (what few there are). The tests are a little difficult, but they are online and you can use the book. He'll always respond to email, or talk to you about it the next class. Very knowledgeable. 100% recommend!

He's a great teacher and encourages you to ask questions. He tells stories, some relevant some not, but either way they make the class more enjoyable. I made high A's on both exams and was told the final was take home so I slacked off a little - THE FINAL WAS NOT TAKE HOME. They aren't allowed to do that anymore so be prepared for an in class final

Take his class. He lays everything out very simple and easy to understand, very easy to talk to. Tends to tell a lot of story that stray from the class but, it doesn't effect anyone. You need to buy the book and grade breaks down into 10 HW, quizzes and 3 tests.

everyone has heard that Statistics is tough, I was dreading the class before hand. While it is hard he explained the work to the class in a way we would get ,explained questions step by step and would never get annoyed if asked to explain again. Was one of the best classes at because He seemed to care that his students understood the lesson.

It's not an easy class, so you have to put a lot of effort into studying and working. He will help you if you don't understand something, so always ask questions. Homework is online on Connect. He allows a formula sheet for exams, nothing worked out though. Messing up badly on an exam question can affect your grade. Study hard and go to class!

He is great and challenging!

By far the best professor that I've had at Marshall University thus far and possibly the best teacher I've had my entire life. Mr. Halleck is extremely enthusiastic and very knowledgeable of this subject. Statistics is a difficult course, but Mr. Halleck makes it as easy to understand as any professor could.

I was terrified coming into this class because of what everyone had previously told me about it, but it really isn't that bad if you come to class and ask questions and are willing to learn it. He works at a good pace and always helps when someone has questions. I thought I'd do terrible in this class and have ended up doing pretty well. Take him!

You do get credit for coming to class, at the beginning he took attendance but towards the end didn't. His final was only 5 questions. Very great teacher. He was a little disorganized but if you had questions he would always help you. I would take him again.

Great professor! The class is as hard as everyone says BUT Halleck does a great job teaching it. Be prepared to study! FIND a study partner, it makes things easier. Most homework and test were on Mindtap. Allowed to skip two classes a semester. Lecture did not really help with test but test were not too hard if you read. Overall he is a very good professor.

Halleck is the best possible professor you can have for bus. stats because he is kind, wants you to learn, and will work with you. However, the material is very hard and will take practice. Do not ever submit assignments late or you get zeros. Tough grader, but he knows his stuff. 3 exams total, 2 homeworks/week, & some extra credit. Virtual class

This class was difficult, but if you ask questions and write down everything that he writes on the board youll be okay. There are three exams( including the final), and if you get a 65 on each exam along with completing all the homeworks youll pass the class.

This is one of the excellent professors in MU's Business program. He lectures, teaches, and gives feedback. He is also accessible for questions via email anytime. I learned a lot in his class and would recommend him.

If you have to take MGT 218, take Dr. Halleck. He is kind and wants you to learn. Do not miss a single class and do all of the homework assigned because you'll need all the points you can get. This class is difficult, but if you do all of the assignments and even do poor on the tests, you can pass this class. Find a friend to study with. Good luck!

Overall, Dr.Halleck ran a good class. He has "no attendance policy" but makes random in-class assignments that you will fail if you miss, never know when they're coming. He definitely makes you work for your grade, but he is very helpful and kind if you need him.

Professor Halleck is probably one of the best professors I've ever had. He is very passionate about business management and he also gives me the motivation to be passionate as well. Took Management 320 as an online Summer class, which mean the length was SUPER short. With so much information to cover, and working full time, it was hard to keep up with all of the terms and theories. He was a fair teacher that is willing to help but if you do not have a lot of time to dedicate take as a Spring or Fall class.

MGT218 is a really hard class no matter who you take it with, but Jamey Halleck is by far the best option. He makes the material easy to understand and is willing to grant extra credit to help you get over the line to the next grade. He wants everyone to do well and to actually learn!

cool cool guy. everything is simple 1 test a week on cengage, sometimes 1 assignment and a discussion board or vise versus depending on the week. this class is simple jus do what u need to do on time and u will pass

Professor Halleck is a very good professor. He is passionate about the material and is lecture heavy. Engages with students well and likes in class discussions. There is a quiz and homework every week online along with in and out of class activities. The quizzes can be tough so make sure you know the material.

If you ever see him teaching capstone then take him. He is extremely fair and respectful. I enjoyed discussing the cases with him in class. MGT 460 can be a hard course for some, but you can trust that Dr. Halleck will treat you well and answer questions. I would take him for many more courses if I could.

Prof. Halleck runs a challenging but rewarding class. Attendance is a must, with random in-class assignments. The quizzes are tough, so use Unstuck ai along with the textbook to stay on top of the material. Overall, a great learning experience.
