Awesome class! Just wish this class was available when I was a sophmore! It puts in perspective all the careers that are available to future business professionals. Guest lectures and excercises to help you professionaly. I took it the first time it was being offered so it was a little unorganized but still very good. Perfect those undeclared.
This class is an internet/hybrid that you attend once a week. Belinne is the official instructor, but it's led by TA's and has other speakers and panelists. This class is easy, but aggravating because there are so many outside school events you have to do to. This class took up WAY more of my time than it should for 3 hrs credit.
Easy A...this class is built for you to learn about the different fields in business in which you can triumph...you have to go everyday, there are pop quizes 90% of the times...there are a lot of extra credit...there will be panels, fairs,, etc etc...its easy and benefits you...
Jamie will definitely keep your attention. She knows her material and she gives real world examples. Oh, and she's hot too.
The comment directly below me is a perfect discription of the course. Atendence is mandatory because quizzes are based on what was discussed in the previous meeting. Most of work is internet based including the group project that will be mostly done outside of class. It's an easy course if you keep up with due dates and have reliable technology.
She's not usually the one speaking is class, Candelaria is. But the instructors, the TAs all treat you like children and seem very gruff. I understand that they put up with a lot, but geez. This class does give SOME vauable information, but it is horrible to have to endure. I think it should be a free online class, like BBA basics.
Easy A. Very interesting and helpful in the real life. The best class at UH. Very valuable info.
VERY EASY CLASS. There are alot of things you have to do outside of class. (Career panels, etc.)I mostly did math homework in this class. You need to have good time management for this class. Most of your work is turned into WebCT but you do have quizzes almost every class which are over the previous class day. Midterms & final are easy, open WebCT
The class is pointless, e/thing can be asked at the Career Center. LOTS of pointless assignments. Quizzes based on past class, group project (a pain), get graded by your inexperienced peers (Whee!). Lots of extra credit, but you must be waaay slow if you need it.
a complete waste of time and MONEY!...i would've never taken this class if i didnt have 2. all you do is go 2 class do crap we already know and then get a grade for it...its a shame business majors are FORCED to take this crap
Belinne is a good teacher. Class is an easy GPA booster. Not much to do, most assigments are fun!
She's a good motivator and does provide some valuable information. Most of the assignments are done on WebCT, none of which are challenging. No excuse for anyone not to get an A in this course.
She's a little quirky but a great teacher. Her classes are very interesting and though the weekly panels are a little boring sometimes, they are very informative. I highly recommend her.
Prof is nice kinda corny though. this course is very useful 4 ppl who r interested. This course makes it IMPOSSIBLE to be UNSUCCESSFUL @ Bauer. So many resources & and opportunities. Come to class everyday for attendance. weekly panels can b boring but u get xtra credit 4 them. SOO MANY xtra credit opportunities. Easy A+. Only prof. teaching course
Easy A. Just follow the instructions and this class will be a piece of cake. There are so many extra credit opportunities..there is no reason not to make an A in this course. It is a good way to bring up gpa.
This is an interesting class and extremely easy. it just requires only effort to get an A, my only negative aspect is this class is the TAs, they suck. emailed mine and never heard back, and they are the ones grading your projects so hopefully you get a good one. also jamie is kind of annoying in the morning
I agree, she is annoying. The worst are TAs, horrible. The only person that actually is nice and very approachable is Elizabeth Knapp. The course in itself is waste of time and money, but good GPA booster if you attend and do all assignments.
I 3rd that too! This class is a completely waste of time. ELizabeth Knapp is VERY nice. But basically you're on your own and for the useless, but time consuming assignments follow exact instructions on webct otherwise you'll get a zero and Do NOT email the horrible TA's because they'll tell to READ instructions on webct!!!Easy "A" though.
Easy A. If you have issues with missing grades due to scantron errors you get to sit in her office and go through a million scantrons looking for yours. Sucks
It's probably the easiest class I've ever taken in my life. It is like impossible to NOT get an A in this class. The class itself is very helpful overall.
Go to class, take notes, and do all assignments before due date. Take advantage of extra credit.
Excellent professor. The class couldnt be easier. You will learn a ton of useful information. The class is what you make of it. I would definitley take this professor again.
Great teacher! Makes things interesting and funny. Most assignments are completion grades. If you don't get an A, you're just putting not trying or dont care.
easiest class I've ever taken. jamie funny and keeps things interesting but elizabeth is kinda dull and boring. do the work and you will DEFINITELY make an A. if you don't, you shouldn't be in school. wayyy too many extra credit opportunities to make anything less than an A. only have to come to 8 thurs classes && tues classes are only one hour :)
She is awesome and funny. The class is very helpful and VERY EASYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easy easy class. Just do the assignments and turn them in on time and there is no way to fail this class. Class is very helpful in learning job hunting and interviewing skills. Prof is very interesting and funny, she keeps the classes attention. Does clicker quizzes on one day and other clicker points on the next day of class.
Class is extremely boring, lecture material is (for me at least) common sense but there are a few useful tips. TA was no help. VERY EASY if you go to class for clicker points and turn in work on time.
Ok she is really your only choice as a prof, on the up side she is sooo funny. The class requires a lot from the students do all mandatory assignments no matter how painful and do some extra credit and an A is basically gven to you. Group project is the worst or best make sure you are putting in ur time cause grades are based on peer reviews.
Professor Belinne is really helpful and keeps the class interesting. Its mostly common sense stuff so go to class and do as many extra credit you can just in case if you miss clickers. The head TA was really nice and not to mention, she was a looker ;)
Jamie is an amazing teacher. She is tough on her deadlines and expects participation. If you have a problem with that you may find this class hard. The work is super easy and kinda fun. No book! The class is mandatory for business majors so you don't really have a choice!
She is a great professor! Very crazy, and talks fast.. But the class is interesting. You only have to attend a certain number of labs. Assignments online due once a week, some are time consuming, but all are EASY. I highly recommend taking her!
Super easy class. She is the only prof so its no getting around her.
easy A. assignments due every week. no way around deadlines. group project & 6 mandatory labs. interesting topics as well
Love her! She's entertaining, and class is easy A. There is 2 online exam (easy), 1 group project (easy if your group is willing to work), and a few assignment and lots of extra credit.
Easy class just dont forget to upload your assignments before deadline. I missed a couple and this class doesnt even feel like your regular classroom its chill
Go to class for clickers. The class is pretty much just completion. 500 pts total + 85 pts XC. As long as you complete everything youll make an A. GPA booster!
Easiest. Class. Ever. If you don't make an A, considering dropping out of college.
It's a class of 900 or more, Tuesdays are mandatory to get clicker points. Attend 5 Thursday labs and you don't have to go anymore after that unless you want extra credit. One group project and a few small quizzes that are more like video games. Basically this class is super easy and the teacher is AMAZING! & very funny!
Dr. Belinne is a bit of a cell phone nazi, but is a well put-together professor who puts very helpful and entertaining lectures for bauer students. Attendance is important, as is having your clicker in class. Don't stress too much if you miss something. ALOTS of extra credit.
This class is useful if youre still trying to figure things out such as your major/career track. Shes a very talented speaker and professor and makes class enjoyable. Theres a big group project and some busy work here and there but thats about it. Attendance pretty much mandatory. Kinda reminiscent of high school bc shes really strict about phones.
She's the only prof that teaches GENB 2301 anyways! She a great prof. This class is somewhat waste of time and money. almost more than 100 points of extra credits. Easy A!
Complete all of your super easy assignments by their deadlines, attend at least 5 Thursday labs, & don't be a slacker on your group project. Honestly, the corporate project was a lot of work, but it's amazing. If you get anything less than an A (<450), drop out of UH, bury your head in shame & think about whether or not college is right for you.
This class was amusing since it blatantly shows the average intelligence of the UH student body. You will be surprised how many people on blackboard are incapable of following directions on trivial assignments. Something as lucid as finding out the number of points required for a certain letter grade is too difficult of a task for many students.
Easiest class in the WORLD! Tons of extra credit. Going on tuesdays is mandatory(clickers). she is hilarious. don't buy the book, its online. EASY A!
Class is very easy! Go To Tuesdays to get clicker points and thursdays for lectures. If you get enough points you can even skip the final. TONS of extra credit! Book is all online and barely used. Very interesting class and teacher is a great lecturer!
Super easy class! Professor Belinne is pretty funny at times, but class gets to be a drag towards the end of the semester, so go to class as much as you can in the beginning, so you can get as many points as you can get points! Once you reach 450 points you're at an A and do not have to show up anymore or take the final!!
She's funny, but strict if people are using their cellphones. She will take them if she sees you use them. Go to all Tuesday classes to get your points. There's plenty of extra credit so there's no reason to not get an A. She knows what she's talking about so her lessons are gold!
If you don't make an A in this class, drop out of college now, you won't make it. This is as easy as it gets. The real benefit comes from seeing her outside of class at the career center, she'll go out of her way to help you achieve your goals and make connections with industries and companies you are interested in.
Great teacher. Her lectures make class very entertaining. Keep up with the assignments and do everything for the group project. EASY A.
Great teacher. Her lectures make class very entertaining. Keep up with the assignments and do everything for the group project. The group project is very time consuming but overall EASY A.
Jamie Belinne is enthusiastic and tries to keep you filled with information in the professional world. You will learn a lot from her. Grades are easy, there are no tests. We were given quizzes at the end of almost every class. Answers come straight from her textbook. Easy A.
stupid class but good teacher. extremely funny and helps out a lot professionally.
Very Easy class. Project can be time consuming but its a very easy A. Took her in my first semester as a transfer and I was so glad I did. She just made my 1st semester so much better. She is a great introduction to the field of business. Great professor and speaker. I enjoyed her class very much.
Easy class. But make sure you stay on track. Do your assignments correctly and you'll be on your way to get an A.
Great teacher, fairly easy class, but group project was so frustrating. I think its a good idea to try to coordinate with friends to do one together if you can instead of random students who might not care about their grade :/ She was really motivating and interesting to hear speak and was very helpful in giving advice when I asked her.
Pretty easy class. There's a lot of assignments you won't be able to do because of scheduling. Don't sweat it you still have a great shot at an A. Keep on top of your due dates. Most frustrating part about class is the group project, but still not bad. Definitely will take Belinne again. Her lectures are entertaining.
This course was fairly simple in terms of getting an A+, but the content and assignments in the class are what makes this course worth taking. Attend class and you'll be fine. You would have to really try in order to fail the course. Not a business major if you fail this course.
It was the most useful and essential class I ever took at Bauer. Prepare you well for corporate world. The class itself is fairly easy and enjoyable. All you have to do is attend class for clickers and do effortless online assignments. Group project needs much more effort, as you got to team up with people who probably take this class as a joke.
Easy class, just show up and do your easy online quizzes. You will have to do a group project which is pretty easy if you have a good group like I did. Great professor and easy A.
Take the class. Oh my goodness, how any doesn't get an A is beyond me.
Her lectures are really energetic. You can tell she really cares about the subject. A lot of the lecture content is common sense but the group projects give you a lot of real world experience. I would take another class with her.
Loved her lectures! she is extremely energetic and entertaining! I would take another class with her! The group project was a little frustrating. I think the peer evaluation for it should be weighted more heavily to make team participation more of a requirement.
She's the only professor you can take for this class, but that's not a bad thing. She's very energetic and funny. Attendance isn't mandatory, but the lectures are interesting and insightful so I'd strongly recommend going. Very helpful and easy class. As long as you do every assignment there's no way you can't get an A.
She is very motivational :) and makes it crystal clear that you EARN your grade... it's simple to follow along to the syllabus which dictates exactly how may points you need to make an A. The material is not hard at all but there are a bunch of deadlines, so beware, and a very important group project... choose wisely though.
Her class was great, although it was 930 people in the class I still felt like she was speaking directly to me. Attendance is not mandatory, although clickers are used. She has 105 extra points that are called "drop points" so you could skip 105 points worth of assignments and get a 100. Online tests & assignments, group projects and that is it.
She was energetic but exam was not up to standard.
Impossible not to get an A in this course! Unless you get caught cheating. Her lectures are extremely helpful for skills you'll need. Clickers are used but I would strongly recommend going just to listen to her talk. Very enthusiastic and energetic. Keeps lectures entertaining
She is very energetic as well as entertaining. The class is super easy if you just pay attention in class. You really learn a lot from this class.
Great Class.
Really loved her story as how she became what she is today . This class might look like a waste of time but its actually beneficial. The group project was okay, but other then that this class is not hard to pass with an A
This class is truly awesome. Seems like a waste of time but it's not. Everything you'll REALLY need in real life is here.
AMAZING CLASS! Took Fall 2011. Jaime helps put the business world into a real perspective that is understandable and realistic. Make sure you get a great group project. Looks good on resume and helped me make business connections, understand group dynamics and land a real, paid internship this summer. Great class.
I loved Jamie, she is such an outgoing professor and very knowledgeable in her field. If you don't make an A in this class, something is wrong with you. The hardest thing you will do is their project, you have 3 different choices and will deliver in front of judges. Make good friends and you will be fine!
I loved this class so much. She made everything she discussed interesting. I wish I could take it again.
She's a GREAT Professor & so is her assistant. They are beautiful!!! You LEARN A LOT IN THIS CLASS. JUST ATTEND & U'LL LEARN
Basically this class requires that you either attend every class to get all clicker points, or attend extra events (career fair, workshops, etc) to get more points. A lot of your grade is based on a group project, which can be good or bad depending who's in you group...
Most inspiring Prof. at UH. She can seem ditzy but she's fun and very determined. Syllabus lists all things due in the semester and grade points for each. 450 pts for A out of almost 600 total. Clicker pts. Easy A. Learned a lot about business, jobs, majors, and life lessons in the class. Would recommend highly. She's also the job fairy.
You need 450 points to get an A(no +-), if you add all the assignments up you get 579 pts. Every class lecture you attend is 5 points and there are some outside-of-class, volunteering assignments. So many options! She gives fantastic advice for work and life. Take advantage of the easiness of the class, listen and take as many notes as possible.
Professor Belinne is great! All of the lectures were interesting and insightful, no matter what your major is. There are many assignments, all of which are optional. However, you need 450 points to make an A. All assignments are easy. The group project was the only semi-difficult assignment. Take this professor and you won't regret it!
This lady is a great, and I mean great speaker. But I think that she forgets that her students are not 16. The first time any group talks out of turn in her class, she literally yells at them! I mean, I can see being stern with college age ADULTS after the 2nd or 3rd time, but being harsh the first time around is not becoming and actually mean.
There is a ton of great information to be learned in the class and I suggest saving specific PowerPoint lectures such as the one regarding resumes. Nevertheless however I had the opportunity to deal with Mrs. Belinne and while in class she's seems very positive and fortcoming, outside class she's not. It's her job to sell Bauer.
This course is a life-lesson or a breaking point depending on how you view it. You will get as much as you put into it. I enjoyed the class and the course content very much. Helped me develop professionally and personally.
This is one of the most informal business classes you will ever take at Bauer. It really prepares you for the corporate setting and provides real life examples & tips to help you succeed to secure an internship or land a job. Professor Belinne was a great instructor. Really inspirational.
Jamie Belinne is the most amazing teacher in Business School. It's also a bonus that she is one of the members who started Career Center for Business students. She is amazing. Her stories are inspirational. You will love her. She is the best.
Class was super easy. Her stories are both interesting and inspirational, and she keeps you interested throughout the entire class. (well, most of the time) Anyone who did not get an A in this class wasn't there for class at all, or did not even try. Two words. POINT SYSTEM. Can get a 6 on the final and still get an A if you know what you're doing.
Her lecture is so helpful but that group project is so useless. Even the corporation project which they are advertising so much is frustrating and since people join the group based on first come first get , all the time there is conflict between them.I wish I had ethic. It's easy and you can easily get a good grade on this part.
Awesome class. Helped me decide my major. Whatever you do DO NOT DO THE TARGET PROJECT!!!!!! IT SUCKS AND ITS CONFUSING AND THEY ALREADY KNOW WHAT THEY WANT SO THEY ARE NOT OPEN TO NEW IDEAS, TARGET PROJECT SUCKS... AWESOME CLASS THOUGH!!!!
DO THE CORPORATE PROJECT AND TAKE IT SERIOUSLY! I did mine with a prestigious company in the Oil and Gas industry and served as a networking opportunity. You never know what opportunities may arise from a good performance in those projects! Start strong so that you won't have to worry about this class towards the end.
Her lectures are so inspirational and very useful for the professional setting. Helped me prepare for interviews and format resumes. I took Ethics project and that was easy for me. Can get an A pretty easily.
You get out of this class what you put in. She is a great teacher and gives you really helpful information and offers lots of assistance. Its pretty much impossible to do poorly in this class, if you participate and do the HW which is very easy you will get an A. The things you learn in this class will stick with you.
Her class was mind-numbing and she usually let her crappy assistant do all the teaching. The subject of the class was how to be a business professional, but in reality, all anyone needs to do to learn that is use some common sense! The class was so bad I switched majors, dropped out, and developed an anxiety disorder. Worst experience of my life.
Easiest class you'll ever take. Go to all of the classes, do all the homework and you'll have enough credit to get an A by the last week of class and not have to attend the whole last week or take the final (cumulative point grading system--- 500 or something A and there are around 650 points offered in credit including extra credit).
After taking Jamie Beeline's class, i only hope to become 1/3 the person that Jamie is. Her class is helpful, fun, and very inspirational. Attendance is required by using clicker. This class doesn't have any tests, quizzes, the grade you get is by collecting points, total of 550 points. However you only need 450 pts to get an A.
You can skip class, miss assignments and still pass with an A if you do your group project, post tests, and most clickers. 450 points for an A, total points offered 590. You get to choose what assignment you want to do.
If you fail this class, please take a long look at yourself and your priorities. This class is an easy A hands down! Come to class for clicker points, complete required assignments "which are easy" and take the group project serious. "Nothing complicated unless you make it". I believe she is the only professor who teaches this course. TAKE HER!!!
Jamie's lectures are always relevant and hilarious. This class is mandatory, and prepares you for a career in the business world. You need to buy the book for the online tests and the final. Other than that you need a clicker to answer in class questions. The group project is the most work you will do in the class. Enjoy your semester!
She is almost like a entertainer because she makes learning fun. She has a very magnetic personality that makes her very easy to listen to. TOP TEN BEST TEACHERS EVER.
This is undoubtedly the easiest class you will take at Bauer. Jamie's lectures are engaging and hilarious. I feel that I got a lot of career advice just by taking this class.
Professor Belinne is one of the best professors I've had thus far. Her lectures are funny and informative at the same time. Her class is based on a point system, each assignments is worth a certain amount of points so as long as you accumulate 450 points you'll receive an A. She gives a lot of extra credit. Definitely would recommend to take her.
Jamie Belinne is the best professor at Bauer!! She cares so much about her students and loves to help. So many great opportunities in this class to further your business career. Keep up with your work to make an A. Very interesting lectures and she's very humorous. Made great friends in this class with the group project. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
Easy class. You will have a group project that lasts practically all semester--that can get stressful. Professor Belinne is a very animated and energetic, which can be refreshing or a bit annoying, depending on your own personality. All you have to do is show up. I didn't take any notes and got an A.
Loved this professor!! Super easy class as long as you PRIORITIZE what you want to do at the beginning of the semester and do really well on your group project!!! Didn't even have to go to class the last two weeks!! Easy A if you do everything at the beginning!
Easy A, very awesome teacher. She is really intelligent, gives you plenty of chances to get the grade you want. Large class, no tests or essays.
Best professor I've ever had! You can tell that she cares about her students. Her stories are relevant to the course and very entertaining. Each class has clicker questions, so attendance is somewhat mandatory. Definitely an easy A if you keep up with your points!
Great professor who cares about her students and their future careers. She's funny during her lectures and creates real interest in the subject she teaches. SHOW UP TO CLASS EVERY DAY. Those daily 5 points for clickers help a LOT - you wouldn't believe how useful they will be when it comes to the crunch time for points.
This class was very easy but they make you work for it. No exams except final, no essays but 6 quizzes. Its a cumulative point system so show up to class for clickers. To make an A you need 450 points. You have to attend events in order to get more points. The group project will either help you or break you. Choose wisely. Overall easy A.
Jamie Belinne is a great professor. She knows her stuff when it comes to the business world. The topics covered in class are very related to the real world of business. It is well worth your time especially if you don't have a lot of experience in the business world.
You are in charge of your own grade. Do assignments to get points that equal an A and there are plenty of extra assignments. Clicker points every class so you have to go and also a "semester long" group project. I recommend taking the class with friends because GENB has the smarts and the dumbs and if you're stuck with them for your group it sucks.
I love Jamie!! The lectures can be a bit boring at times but attendance isn't mandatory but the clicker points do add up so make sure you stay on top of your points. It's really easy to get an A in this class. Oh, and you can't use your electronics, the TA's can be a bit annoying about that.
Best lectures ever! Need to attend class to receive clicker points. Do all the assignments they are not hard at all. This class will help you get a job if you take the book, lectures, & assignments seriously! Easiest class of all times!
Everything but your group project is online. Really, everything online is just easy busy work. Be prepared to spend 30 minutes a week on the busy work, show up and get the clicker points, and then work your tail off on the group project. Do you nest to get with a good group too. Project is not that hard but it does require group effort
By far one of my favorite classes in college. Jamie is so inspirational and makes me want to become a professor just like her. She cares about her students, but you have to put in the effort for her to put in the effort. There is a lot of homework and it's all online. The class also has 1 project, and clickers. Show up and pass the class basically.
Probably the easiest class you can take as a business major at UH. Homework assignments easy, clickers are also pretty easy, only difficult thing you may encounter is the group projects. Pick ethics if your lazy and want to get a good grade. TA's are annoying and will tell you get off your phone if they see you. Stress free class
TBH I would look forward to the days she lectured. She's and amazing professor, very inspirational and most importantly hilarious!
If you have never worked in business, this class can be extremely insightful. I had other classes I desperately needed to focus on so this class took the backseat. I attended two lectures, did most of the assignments, won the Target project with my group, and got an A in the class. Just do the work and participate in the project, you will do fine.
Jamie is hilarious and inspirational. I don't mind going to class because she such a great speaker. Lots of room to mess up in this class. It's on a point system, but you're offered 100 more points than you need to get an A in the class. There is one, long-term group project during the semester but it's doable and nothing too difficult.
Jamie is just pure awesome! I honestly looked forward to her class! She makes her lectures funny and realistic to the real world. Clickers are worth 5 points every class, so show up! Weekly deadlines for HW which are easy. Hardest part was a group project presentation which took some effort but not bad. Great class to meet friends. Best in Bauer!
I really enjoyed this class. HW is easy and clearly listed w/ its due date. Nothing is "hard" about this class. The group project was definitely not as difficult as I expected it to be. Clickers are important, so go to every class. 500 points to get an A! SUPER EASY!
I really enjoyed the lectures and the project.
Multiple easy assignments that take very little time. You do need to buy the book to take a couple easy online tests. 5 clicker points everyday you go to class which accounts for 100 points. Easy class if you do the clickers and do most of the assignments, 500/600 is an A. Group project is kind of annoying but not too bad.
Loved her lectures, really entertaining and informative. GENB is perceived as the easiest class at Bauer. Don't take that too lightly because you really need to put in the effort to actually do the assignments. Most of it is busy work except for the group project, which is a large chunk of the grade. Show up do the clicker points and do the online
Her lectures were super engaging and entertaining! Lots of extra credit, easy assignments, need I say more?
I loved Jamie!! She was so engaging and funny, I never felt the need to check the time. You will have to buy the access code for the ebook at least, and a clicker as well. Plenty of extra credit opportunities and a lot of useful material to incorporate in your future. Finally a class you can apply to your actual life.
This is the easiest class you can take at UH Bauer! However, don't think that you can do the minimum and expect to pass because there are many assignments throughout this course! Your grade is determined by points based on attendance, assignments, etc. Take advantage of the resources available since they help out a lot!
Mrs. Belinne was a wonderful professor. Point based class, textbook use is mandatory as there are reading points and tests online. Pick the ethics group project if you want an easy A. Chelsea Price, however, was absolutely useless. No idea why they had her "teaching". All she did was read the announcements and even that she couldn't do right.
Amazing professor, and very helpful class as far as building a solid foundation for your business career. Jamie is funny, engaging, and wise!! I would 100% recommend her to anyone!
AMAZING professor! Easy A. Just take her! She's funny, gives really USEFUL and HELPFUL lectures for choosing your major/career. No tests! One semester long group project that is not as hard as it seems at first. Come to class for clickers, because she takes attendance at every lecture.
Professor Belinne is hands down one of the best professors in the entire school. She's funny, inspirational , and an awesome person. Saying this class is easy is an understatement. 1 group project, easy online quizzes, clicker questions. Take advantage of the resources this class provides as they will help you grow as a professional and individual.
Jamie Belinne is truly a great professor at UH, and a wonderful person at heart. The syllabus clearly explains what is expected of you in the class. You're given many opportunities to boost your grade. Participate in anything worth points, show up, and do well on the projects. She gives an online textbook with 10 question quizzes at the end.
shes takes attendance with the clickers. The ethics project is the easiest one. This class is based on points with 450 being a A. Dont buy the physical book just for online. Overall easy class just dont forget to do any assignments. There is no way to not get a A in the class since she will give out more than 100 extra points so you can get a A.
Easy A but keep track of your points so you're not stressed in the end of not making an A. Don't have to attend every lecture because you have 117 points you can miss and still make an A. Professor is funny and interesting. You learn about silly things like what to wear and how to eat but some lectures were useful like resume and internships.
Attendance is taken with clickers. Class was kind of common sense, but a lot of good information and shes really funny. Quizzes are word for word in the textbook.
Professor Belinne made class more interesting by telling funny stories that related to the topic. I overall enjoyed most of the class. You should get an easy A as long as you do the work, & they even give a lot of extra points in case you miss something. There will be 5 pts per lecture using clickers, & also a big group project. Overall an easy A.
Great Class, Awesome teacher, Hilarious, Truly cares about students, Lectures help you better understand what major to pursue, attending class is important because she takes clicker attendance for a grade, Keep up with online assignments, one major group project
Attendance is taken on clickers so youre kind of forced to go to her boring lectures. She has two annoying TAs walk around and pester you the entire class for talking/using your phone or laptop. Most annoying class because you are forced to do nothing but listen to the useless lecture while the TA watches over your shoulder and makes sure you do
Honestly, the most pointless class I have ever been too. TAs and instructor seemed so fake except for Chelsea Price. This class is for freshmen who have no idea about their major. TIP: Do all assignments and extra credits. Once you have 450 pts for A+ DON'T SHOW UP TO CLASS. I took 2 weeks off and didn't had to do last 3 assignments. happy!!
The lectures for this class were straightforward info, like how to make a resume & info about internships. Some people find them useless, but I saw them as easy points (clickers). The class is one major (easy) group project and lots of little busy works assignments, all worth a different amount of points. 450 is an A. Over 100 extra pts available.
Most boring and pointless class at UH.
This class is an easy A
GENB is an incredibly easy class. Show up and get your clicker points and do the assignments. Group project is the major assignment in this class but as long as your group is alright you'll be fine. Professor is very engaging and covers relevant topics and brings in speaker panels of local business people so you can get an idea of each major
I really enjoyed this class. Going into GENB I didn't know what the class would be about. They basically teach you about the business professional world and prepare you for the better. Jamie is very passionate and I enjoyed her lectures. The class was boring sometimes lol but overall the class is great. This is one of those stress-free classes!
She is inspirational and very engaging. She makes everyone laugh and class is more entertaining when she teaches.
Easy A if you put in the work, don't be cheap and buy the book, there is a lot of good information that can be useful to you in the future. Loved this class!
The class itself is really a huge waste of time. It's meant for freshman students who don't know what to major in exactly. There is a group project that can either go really well, or bad. Jaime is a great lecturer but the TA's walking around just make it unbearable at times. You should make an A as it's a point based class, just don't slack off.
GENB will probably be THE easiest class you take as a business major. Assignments are super easy. Attendance is "mandatory" in the sense that you won't be able to pull an A if you decide not to show up, but one or two missed classes won't kill you. The class was honestly painless and I enjoyed listening to Jamie Belinne lecture.
She is such a funny professor. I want to go to class just to hear her lectures. They are so funny ,and she makes class fun. GENB is not hard at all all you have to do is manage your tome and do the assignments ,and attend the events they say .
Clicker questions for every class, no phones allowed in class. Show up because clicker points add up. Just keep up with assignments on Blackboard and its an easy A. One ethics/corp grp project for the year which was cancelled because of corona. Really helpful for basic job searching and major information.
This class is very knowledgable in helping for future references, no phones or computers allowed but the professor made it very fund and entertaining to listen to lecture. No test, but did have to work in a group project. Overall the class was very easy and informative.
GENB3302 is now BUSI3302. Both her & Chelsea Price teach the class. Don't underestimate the points (grades) for this class. Easy to fall behind, especially if you miss a big assignment worth a lot of points. Extra credit opportunities are generous, but wouldn't always count on it as they have them during inopportune times. Overall, I enjoyed it!
Professor Belinne is great! She makes her lectures light and funny. The course material is a bit boring - but she definitely makes the class more bearable! MUST SHOW UP in order to receive clicker points. Group Project will take up majority of the entire semester. Try to get a corporate project! Also stay on top of assignments and due dates! EASY A
She is very straightforward and a bit blunt but shes also charismatic and hilarious. She values respect and is passionate about preparing you for your professional career. Provides lots of resources. CLICKERS!! Attendance matters. Absolutely no phones. EASY assignments & extra credit. 1 group project (can be added to resume). TAs are very helpful
This class is the reason why I knew business was for me. Jamie is an amazing professor and made me so happy that I chose Bauer. She made sure we got the most out of the college and were well equipped for our future. It is important that you try to do ALL of the assignments cause they benefit you and you'll get an A faster. Give your 100% on project
Taken during COVID Fall semester, all online heavy on assignments for no reason but it's manageable nothing crazy, it's an easy A just do all the assignments. No tests just one big group project and HW and quizzes.
One of the best teachers at BAUER. She really cares for her students, and also considers extending the time for the quiz of students request it. She tries her best to teach everything while making it exciting for the students. Its an easy A. There is one group project. she gives a whole month to do it. The final is also optional.
Use ctrl F and you dont have to because its that easy. Its basically like a class that is based on completion so if you do your part itll be super easy. Theres a group project so try to get everyones number and hopefully everyone participates so its easy or you can grade group members and express your opinion on their efforts. Its easy.
Semester long group project is what your grade will be mostly made up of. You have lots of resume and internship information and help. This class may seem very stressful, and it lowkey is but it helps you so much. If you are shy you will have to go out of your comfort zone, but you will be fine. Will be recording a lot for many assignments. Take!
Group project is kind of terrible, make sure you get into the projects with other companies and not the geico one. Overall easy class. if you dont get an A you did something wrong.
Jamie is a real gem. She is respected, funny, and has really great advice. I looked forward to every single class and lecture. The only thing I would say was the worst part was the group project. Even though I hated that, I would 100% take the class again.
Major group project at the end so worry about that. Like 300 people in this class, so what you do really doesn't matter. Should pass with an A if you do most of the work. This class is all about you. Quizzes here and there but nothing to fret about. Professor was nice. Solid class that you're required to take for business.
She is so entertaining and the lectures are very relevant to what you will experience in the real world. She presents the information to you but you need to go out there and build your network if you want to advance in your career. The only thing I didn't like was the group project because people can really make your grade suck.
This class was your standard busy work with occasional textbook reading. Quizzes and assignment aren't difficult . My one critique is how for the final project groups weren't given an explanation for the grade they received. Also you have to take some type of career assessment that cost $30 which is expensive and unnecessary. Easy A
This is one of the easiest classes I've ever taken, you just need to do a group project and complete assignments and you'll be good
This class is super helpful. Assignments are clearly stated and a group project to do over the semester. Your grade is based on points you accumulate throughout the semester. Attendance technically wasn't mandatory, but she would ask TopHat questions throughout the class and would count as points that go towards your grade. Highly recommend.
This course contains informative knowledge and prepares you towards graduation and after. This class is also a super easy A too! There are top hat chapter assignments due about every week along with other assignments as well. There is also a group project as well. The syllabus was a good structure to keep up with assignments. Take HER!
This class definitely forces you out of your comfort zone and gives you points for each event you attend/assignment you do. The point system in my opinion was not great, they left you wondering what your total was until the end of the sem, so do almost all the work to make sure you get an A. Attendance is a pain for a commuter.
The professor seems nice. The class pretty easy just did not like the group project which takes months to work on. Overall, the class is very helpful when it comes to your career. Also no tests.
Amazing class, had a great time, highly recommend her as your professor. Attend class and pay attention to the in-class questions (most are common sense). Beware of a group project with other students.
This class was very flexible, there was something new to do. Her lectures were entertaining and definitely worth going to class for. We had opportunities to pick our own projects and get experience working with real companies. Her explaining of how to approach the business life and etiquette was very eye-opening.
This is a given. She's entertaining in lectures and the assignments are so easy, you can get ahead. The group project was the most annoying thing the entire semester but you get through it. It depends on what project you get and who your group members are. Do your attendance questions on TopHat, they can save your grade at the end of the semester.
This was the easiest and most helpful class I have taken so far. Grading is based on top hat, homework assignments and the group project.
Super easy, just do ass assigned work and get an A.
Belinne was so energetic and funny! Attend class 10x to earn full credit for attendance. One big KPMG Sponsored/Coached Ethics Case group project during course. Prepared you for internships, interviews, & jobs. 1 mandatory Career Fair. Many panels relating to each major came to class. TopHat hw was easy & so was each questionnaire in every class.
Hands down probably the most entertaining lectures you'll ever have at UH. I learned so much from them in their BUSI 3302 course. Attendance isn't mandatory but you do get a grade on attending at least 10 lectures a semester- extra points if you attend more. Easy assignments; TopHat subscription required.
A funny and respected professor that teaches many essential things young businessmen and women should take notes on. The class is super easy, and you get a lot of credits for attendance. She will not take excuses for being a bad student or group member so make sure you do your part in the group project!
Professor Belinne was great. She was always enthusiastic for every lecture and was hilarious at times. A Top Hat subscription is required, get ready for a big group project throughout the semester. Get everything done in time though I worked ahead to have more free time toward the end of the semester. Extra credit is easy to obtain.
This is your only choice as a pre-business student, but she's a really good professor. However, she and her TA's do not respond to emails. From my experience, attendance was not mandatory until after spring break. She begin putting up attendance codes only visible from in-class. Also, do the sponsored project, the others aren't worth your time.
This class is very straightforward! Show up, participate, and you will get A.
I really enjoyed this professor's lectures because of their interactiveness and humor. However, she had the assistant professor do most of the lectures and when that happened they were boring and not that fun to listen to. We use tophat, but most of the time they gave you 8 seconds to put in an answer
THIS IS MY FAVORITE ALL TIME CLASSES!! You're going to learn a lot about the business school, etiquette, how to act in certain environments for business, and more. I really enjoyed this class very much. Now the group projects will last till the end of semester and then there's a BWE (Bauer Writing Evaluation) that is required to take to file.
THE LITERAL DEFINITION OF A CLASS THAT TEACHINGS YOU EVERYTHING YOU WOULD WANT TO KNOW TO FACE THE WORLD BOTH IN AN EDUCATIONAL ASPECT (MAJORS) AND IN YOUR CAREERS PATH!!!! BE EXCITED FOR THIS CLASS!!
Loved attending lectures from Professor Belinne. Energetic and spirited in her lectures. Class is quite easy, it is mainly just informing you of how to be a business student and representing Bauer well. Try to find a good group for the sponsored project/ethics. It makes up a decent portion of your grade towards the end.
Professor is great, she is always interested in what she is teaching. The group project was okay, make sure your group stays on top of the work and it won't be too hard. Make sure you attend the required number of classes so you won't have to retake it!!
Only gain point through assignments yet very easy to score max or near max no exams they are both very enthusiastic and funny. Attendance not mandatory but there are in class participation questions to gain points ( and extra credit). Have to do a project with a team of 8 . For me and most students very easy to get an A
I took her for MANA 4355, and she was awesome. No textbook, just show up to class. She has guest speakers come to class. You have one group project at the beginning of the semester and one group project at the end of the semester. The only downside is that it's an 8:30am class on Tues. & Thurs. but other than that, easy a class and very informative
She was a great professor! There is a lot of assignments, but you have to think of the class has a video game, you can only gain points, you can't lose any! Only one big project with a group of people, but if you're lucky (can't choose your group members) you will do fine in the class!
It was one of the easiest classes ever I've taken to get an A on the transcript. Just participate in everyday classes and do the work, and there is a project too, which will be the only work you need to put your hard work into, and everything else is so easy.
a fabulous professor!!! would not recommend her enough! prof belinne and prof hopkins both teach this course, and they alternate depending on the lecture topic. the class was req, but its so beneficial to your business career & its so easy. it's all straight-forward and the lectures aren't super boring either.
Easy A if you show up to class and do the assignments. This class is most definitely the easiest course I have taken. Helped me make time for other classes. I honestly appreciate the group project as it also allowed me to make new friends as well :)
An easy A class with engaging lectures. The group project is manageable, and unstuck AI can be a helpful study tool alongside the free textbook.
You were a wonderful professor. I hope you enjoy retirement. :)
She is an amazing professor who is so passionate about what she does. Have an amazing retirement
Honestly one of the BEST professors I've ever had the pleasure of taking at UH. She is just so funny and so passionate and i've enjoyed every single lecture of hers. This class is super easy. Group project is not tough. and Honestly this class has helped me so much in my career. Their teachings will help you so much in life. Most realest class ever
This professor is an explosion of fun and energy! She is very inspirational and has clearly put a lot of time and effort building the foundation class for all Bauer students. Her passion to Bauer and students well-being is top notch and really does her best to reach out to everyone in some sort of way. This class is easy, if you do what is asked.
This class is a free A and is only about getting ready to be in business. The lectures are surprisingly entertaining but that's because of how fun the teachers are. The lectures are filled with basic but useful knowledge and the assignments are very easy.
