Jamie is 100% willing to help you learn the material, which being an English major never really excited me. I recommend him because there is little homework to do in his class.
I loved him! You write a lot of notes, but it's worth it because you understand the material so much more. I wish I could have taken him again this year!
Jamie is a great teacher. He doesn't give a lot of homework. He is very clear. I think he is a great choice for someone who isn't good at math. He explains things well.
easy to follow, very helpful when needed. very stict on attendance at first (although it is helpful to be in class) but gets more relaxed towards end of semester. highly recommended!
Best math teacher I've ever had! I failed math 107 2 times in a row then took Jamie's class and got an A! He is clear and his packets helped a lot so that you don't have to write down so many notes in class and can use the extra time to learn and practice the new material.Didn't require HW to be turned in.Tests and quizes are straight from packets.
Campbell is great. If you have to take a math class over the summer, take Campbell. He JUST introduced chapter packets, homework isn't required(but he does have daily quizzes based on it), he posts packets and tests online, and he's always encouraging students to come talk to him if they need help. He's a little fast, but he'll go back if you ask.
he is a horrible teacher that needs to teach high school
This class was really hard. I had a hard time comprehending the material as well as it is pretty hard to sit there for an hour and 50 min. I felt like he should have been teaching high school with the way he treated the class.
Really hard class and a very strict grading. Does not explain things well at all, skipped a lot of steps which is not good for me. He treats his students as if we're in high school
He gave tons of homework for every section. Each homework assignment takes you more than three hours to finish and you have three of them every week!! He talked very fast and all we did in class was taking notes. If you fall behind, it is extremely hard to catch up! I don't recommed him.
This professor is stressed beyond belief. It's a shame he has monopoly on some of the mathematics courses. Avoid his classes.
really, really enjoyed this class. can't recommend enough if you're interested in math
Fantastic teacher. Explains the material very well. He actually knows what he's talking about so you can ask him advanced questions. The homework can be long, but it's necessary to understand the material. The tests are extremely fair, the deductions for computational errors are minuscule. Does all the proofs for you in class. Highly recommended.
Took the aready excelerated course during summer. Jamie explained very clear and used techniques that were very helpful. The course wasnt easy but your in collage and if it is easy then your in the wrong couse. Would deffinatly take instructor again.
Worst math teacher I've ever had. Rambles on incoherently every class. Ask him anything and it turns into a tangent that doesn't pertain to your question. I did every hmwk assignment and probably ended up with 70% in hmwk bcuz of the stupid way he sets up hmwk quizzes. Has few office hours and will not work around them if you have class. Don't take
He spends 50% of the time proving theory, something that will never be on a test. It will be much better if he spends the time explaining examples. We had to learn stokes and divergence theorem over a weekend before the final and it was extremely hard. On the other hand he does grade fairly.
he's alright but he speaks with big words and tends to be off topic his exam reviews are pointless especially his finalls review and EVERYONE was fruserated in that class i guess its good for you if you talk with Big vocabulary
A great math teacher! Allows you to ask questions at any time during his lecture. Also gives out lecture packets, so instead of taking notes, you just fill in the blanks. Very helpful. One downside is his tests sometimes cover topics he doesn't necessarily focus on. Other than that though, great teacher!!
He teaches very fast and a lot of kids were struggling in this class. I got sick and he made things very difficult. He focuses way too much effort on attendance, which I never appreciate. If a student can learn the material without coming to class that's his/her business. However, he is very reminiscent of Jim Carrey (just not the funny part!).
Campbell has all the makings of a great teacher, but I have trouble learning from him. He has a loud voice that belongs in a large lecture hall, not a tiny classroom. This class is not for visual learners, and the difficulty is brutal unless you love math. The homework is instructive, but he doesn't really prepare you for the exam very well.
He was a very difficult teacher. I had a hard time understanding his lessons and especially the tests. The final is easier than you would think however so just study all of the exams before the final because he re-uses a lot of the same questions.
Cambell is a very smart man who knows his stuff. Taking him in remedial courses he is great. However in any Calc course he goes was to fast and purpously tries to use intense language with high Mathamatical terms. I always say it isnt the smartest person who is the best teacher. Its the one who makes the material understandable to all. Aviod him!
I took Math 200 during summer with Campbell and really enjoyed his teaching. If you understand the math you will do just fine. His tests are just as fair as his grading. Learning Maple is the hardest part of the class.
I love math and have always been good at it but this class was EXTREMELY fast passed, and every class was a work out of scrambling to write all the notes while not understanding any of them. No learning took place in the class. Tutoring was mandatory. He's a fairly nice guy but if you can, try a different teacher
He passed so fast on the materials,we have exams every week, hw quiz every day.We dont have enough time to go over it, and we have to take our exam. In the tests or exams, it is much harder than what he taught in class. He taught the easiest problems during the class and hardest problems on the test.hard to get an A!
He's a cool guy and can make class pretty interesting at times, but he lectures WAY too fast and tries to cram as much as he can into class-time. If you're a fast learner then perhaps you can keep up and do fine. However, I spent most of class time quickly copying down notes and little time absorbing his eloquent lecture.
Math 200 and 220. Very difficult teacher. Must be genuinely interested in the material to enjoy and learn from the class. Must use outside resources such as the online MIT Lectures and other books. He lectures very quickly so you must be prepared for every class by reading the chapters. Grades HW and tests meticulously. Hardest finals I have taken.
Mr. Campbell knows the material Extreamly well. Gives a lecture packet for every section with everything you need to know. Very meticulous grader tho. Never gives 100%. Overall Mr. Campbell was a perfect pre-calculus immersion teacher. I would take him for every class if I could.
Campbell is just an awesome guy in general. Outside of class he has done crazy lectures on infinity and stuff like that. He knows math like the back of his hand. With that said, his classes are extremely fast paced and it definitely requires a lot of time outside of class to relearn the material.
He is an extremely hard grader, very unorganized with his schedule and hw assignments. Does not spend any time answering questions in class. Does not teach material well in class. Literally gives out lecture packet and gives out all the answers to the warm ups without letting the students even think it through. He is not helpful at all.
this professor is really hard. he goes through lecture packets incredibly fast and doesnt write down all of the steps to the problems which is really confusing. he tests on problems nothing like what he taught. would not recommend him
Fairly difficult teacher. Moves through material very fast and will work through the lecture packets without any input from the class. Therefore, you must be willing to spend your own time learning material and visiting tutors in order to do well. Tests are very hard, homework is completion-based.
Immersion class.Fast paced, homework assigned every day, quiz or test every week, meticulous grader.Has interesting side stories during lecture. Will stop lecture if you have a question.Really cares about his students succeeding. No gray area with him when it comes to knowing the material.Which I like in a math teacher.I'd take him again.
ASK HIM LOTS OF QUESTIONS! He's a math genius and it's the only way to slow him down, otherwise he will fly through lecture and example problems like there's no tomorrow. He went way to fast for me, and I had to learn probably 75% of class material outside of class.
This was the worst course of my college experience (coming from a straight A student ). Jamie's lectures are incomprehensible, and he is concerned more with creating his own class rules than ensuring his students succeed or understand the material. Impossible exams, minimal office hours, absurd policies, terrible lectures. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Hands down one of the best math instructors at SBCC. Took him for the Precalc. Immersion course last fall, and though it was a very difficult class, I retained the material very well. He is thoroughly prepared for lecture, and I would say he does a great job at preparing you for exam. Not an easy A, but definitely attainable.
He is like a robot not approachable. Kruidenier is a way better TEACHER!! Kruidenier actually explains the math. Campbell is really smart and he makes it obvois but I felt he didn't care about anything other than his rules. Avoid go to Kruidenier.
Jamie is a really good professor if you stay ahead of the class, if you are even slightly behind, as in you didn't at least read the material prior to class then good luck because he goes way to fast to try to learn anything new during lecture. He is also a very tough grader. He is a very good teacher but also extremely difficult and intimidating.
Very into theory of math. Stickler for notation. Campbell really set me up with a strong foundation for farther down the line in math career... but his class was definitely hard. He expects a lot of his students, but he works to make sure students really understand the material and the concepts of what is going on.
I agree with the person that says he is like a robot. He has stupid rules and bad lectures. DON'T take his class.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. It is very hard to follow. You strictly take notes on the packets he makes you buy. He tries to rush through all of the material he can and makes it extremely challenging to learn. No in class exercises. Only offers outside help in office hours. HARD CLASS WITH HIM, TAKE SOMEONE ELSE
Although he genuinely loves math and is excited to teach, he is very hard to follow. He is a difficult grader and goes at a fast pace. I see how people call him a robot, but that is way too extreme. If you're really interested in math, he's a good teacher. Just prepare to study your butt off.
Jamie is a brilliant man. He loves math and is always ready to help you understand - YOU JUST HAVE TO ASK. He moves very quickly through his lectures and chooses the hardest problems for the test. If you take him you'll be prepared to take any Math courses after 160. He's definitely a hard teacher but I wouldn't take anyone else.
I'm taking his Math 150 this semester.I know so many students said he is too strict. However, for me, that's a good thing. He helps me a lot n explain very well.
Avoid this teacher if you want to learn something. I know a student who is re attending the math 200 class that I'm taking with him now, because she wants to learn something other then just get a good grad in class.
He is the worst teacher ever avoid to take math 120. On every class he starts with a minute meditation which I hate it. Now I know what other students call him a robot because he is going very fast on his class. If you want to succeed on your math class please take it with someone. else.
I have taken Jamie Campbell for MATH 160, MATH 200, and MATH 220. Once you learn that your NOT suppose to write down everything that Jamie writes down step one is complete. Learn whats important and whats not His tests are extremely challenging... but thats because these classes are for engineers... that need to be challeneged, so just Study HARD!
If you really want to learn calculus and are driven, this is it. Your probably not going to get an A, I'm a 4.0 student and I think I'm gonna be settling for a B. However, I don't think I've gotten more out of any other class I've taken. His 150 class include's a pretty in depth preview of 160 that other classes don't which I think is great.
He is very good at teaching, except the tests are much harder than the homework. The final was a terrible overview of the coursework and was nowhere near broad enough, so if there was something you aren't perfect with and it's on the final you can't make up the points with the things you do know. I will never take a class from this teacher again.
Jamie is not a great teacher. He may know his stuff but he moves too quickly for anyone to really grasp the content fully. Lots of steps are skipped and you have to know your math extremely fast in order to understand where he just jumped to. His tests are not a good representation of the homework or the lectures.
For me Jamie was a fair teacher. He assigned a lot of homework, but that was actually a good thing because it helped reinforce the concepts I learned in class. I thought his lectures were paced reasonably and that his tests were fair. If you take MATH 200 with him, be sure you review your integration techniques and trig identities!
He is a very difficult teacher who is very nitpicky during tests in how an answer is found and stated. His lectures aren't that great because he moves very fast and will sometimes skip steps, specifically in Trig.
Jamie Campbell is THE MAN. His class was extremely difficult and he's a super tough grader on exams but he really makes you learn your stuff! Insane amounts of homework but if you're driven enough it's possible to ace the class. Love this guy, would take again in a heartbeat!
Worst math teacher I have ever taken. Failed him 3 times, 160,200 and now 220. I have managed to pass the others with different instructors. If you are the type that can't lean from the book and need an Instructor to Instruct and translate the book, he is not for you. Test are ridiculous, will dock correct answers that don' meet his personal sndrd!
He's definitely a difficult teacher to understand at times, although, it's very clear he's making a big effort. Don't get freaked out by the explanation of things, he goes more in depth than necessary sometimes. Very tough class. The best way to review for the tests is to review the notes. For the final, review the tests. Good class overall.
Professor Campbell is extremely knowledgable. However, it is adamant you are responsible for the material. Campbell's perspective of attendance and punctuality will serve you for the better in the future.
My experience with Campbell is that he works hard for the class, and that he has a clear understanding of what he's teaching. This being said, I thought his teaching suffered from a somewhat negative teaching style. He's also very strict. Though I found him unpleasant, he does his job, knows his stuff, and teaches a better than adequate class.
Professor Campbell is knowledgable and intimidating. You have to teach yourself a lot of the material because of how confusing and fast paced his lectures are. Only take this professor if math comes naturally to you
tough but fair, expect to learn some stuff by yourself because he can be a little bit fast sometimes. He's very smart and eventually it makes it harder for him to slow down and explain in details, but he does a great job overall, especially because hes packages are extremely organized and clear.
his lectures are long and boring and pretty much don't help at all for learning the material. All he does is proofs and a few examples and goes very quickly. His tests are insane and he wants very specific answers that if you don't put, you will get points taken off. I know he material, but according to his grading I know nothing. Avoid if possible
He is very strict. With that said if you are an engineering major for your well being do not take your physics and engineering classes (science classes) alongside this class. it is hard and challenging enough. I would say you would have to work a minimum of 2 -3 hours a day outside class for a good grade. Do not skip class. be fully committed.
He's OK at describing mathematics. If you can't read the book, I'd say he's fine as a substitute. It doesn't seem like he enjoys teaching very much. Gets angry quickly. He's not very nice and excessively regulatory. I felt his rules got in the way of the math. He's just not great with people. Get ready for a hierarchical relationship.
This was one of my favorite courses and instructors at SBCC! Campbell gets a bad rep for being a "hard" teacher, when in reality he's one of the best teachers I've ever had. You will really learn and understand the subjects he covers, and I loved that his lectures are clear, interesting and to the point. I feel very well prepared for future courses
Great lecture! Very supportive! wish to take the class again!
Tests are very challenging compared to the homework problems given... no quizes.. 2 or 3 group labs... pretty easy. Labs and 3 tests and a final are pretty much whole grade.
Tests are very challenging compared to the homework problems given... no quizes.. 2 or 3 group labs... pretty easy. Labs and 3 tests and a final are pretty much whole grade. .. ..
His teaching style worked for me. He's crystal clear on what he expects from students and what the class will look like. His notes are well organized and useful to review for tests. He curves the tests, which is fair, so even if a test has stuff you haven't seen much of it won't hurt you. Turn up for every class and do the HW and you'll do fine.
Really not a great person or professor. Lectures are too fast/unclear, he skips steps that will confuse you, etc. Talked down to my class on several occasions, had really strict rules, and took points off perfect answers when I didn't show insignificant steps. Gotta teach yourself, mostly. Oppressive grader. Terrible Experience. Avoid if u can.
His lecture is clear and he is nice. He really want students to be succeed in this class.
Great teacher for a really tough class. Tests make up 80% of your grade.
Moves too fast in lectures, tests are unrealistic usually average low 70's or failing. Not a good introduction to calculus as he makes it seem harder and more intimidating than it is. To be fair, the difficulty does prepare you for future classes but it's hard to say whether this balances out the discouragement.
Mostly organized and stays on track, but goes through some sections too fast. The practice exams have little carry-over to his actual exams, so don't spend too much time working on them. You NEED to do the homework in order to pass the exams. Exam problems are generally chosen from the textbook. Avoid his class if you want an easy A.
This class was hard. He was good at explaining integrals but as soon as we moved passed that I was lost. Three wicked hard exams (with low class averages) and one slightly easier final which replaces the lowest exam score. He's really smart and caring though, but he should probably be working in tech instead of teaching.
I strongly disagree with most reviews, 160 is difficult regardless of the instructor. Great professor, great lectures. I learned a ton from him. Very accessible outside of class. Exams were difficult, curves most exams, study hard in advance and you'll score high. Study practice exams and hw. I would take him again if I had the opportunity to.
A good professor who really wants his students to succeed, he is not only a professor but he also wants to be your friend as well. Just go to his office hours and he'll absolutely provide helpful information. Detailed study guide, just take some time and go through those questions then you'll pass.
He's not a bad guy, but his lectures could benefit from having students work on their own. He will talk throughout the entire lecture, and knows his stuff, but he teaches the course as if enjoying the nuance of calculus with experts rather than introducing a new topic to students. His tests are bloody hard. 3 exams, 1 final, grades HW like quizzes.
One of the best instructors I've ever taken, exceptionally good lecturer, and extremely tough grader. take his classes seriously and put in the work if you want a good grade.
Online class was SO DIFFICULT. Do NOT take this class online if you just need credit. Get ready to spend ALL your time in the math lab, teaching yourself the material. Text book is not helpful. The class is 80% based on exams, so even though I spent hourss on homework, it doesn't really reflect on my grade. Just take the in-person lecture!!!
Very harsh grading and class structure. Uses webassign, which I personally dislike. Lectures are definitely not the best, as it seems like he's just reciting textbook knowledge, rather than teaching. Tests are unusually difficult and grading on tests is unusually harsh. The vibe I got was that the course was set up to make students work really hard
He basically just posts videos on skimming over the book's section and expects you to know just from that. As someone that isn't necessarily the best at math and lean on help from teachers, his help isn't the best either. If you contest any of his grades with proof he will still get defensive and talk down to you. He also skips steps in lectures.
He explains many of the difficult concepts in a manner where anyone can understand the material. Talk to him during office hours because he will answer questions then.
I've taken 3 math classes with Jamie and I can definitely say he was the best professor I had during my undergraduate education. If you want to truly absorb yourself in the material and have a strong work ethic, you need to take his courses. The rigor of his courses is what prepared me to keep up in a highly competitive university environment
This class was hard. But he was open to helping during his office hours and emails back very quickly. His lectures were hard to watch. He skips steps and I just didn't understand most of it. I worked really hard to pass this class and he tried to help me as much as possible but I just didn't understand the content. Take another class if you can.
Professor Campbell is a pretty tough grader, but if you work hard and know the material, you don't have much to worry about. He is very helpful in office hours and can meet outside of office hour times too. If you show that you care about the class and respect him, he will respect you too. He is strict, but that prepares you for other classes.
I've taken Jamie twice now, once for 150 and now for 220. I hated him during 150, and eventually withdrew from his class. This was just because I wasn't willing to do the work; the same problem I suspect most of these negative reviewers had. He's a very good professor and genuinely wants the students to succeed, and will go out of his way for that.
This was my last math course that I needed for my major and I was ready to get it over with. Jamie made this experience so much better than I could have hoped. The material is hard but the self help discussion boards made me want to take the class again. He really cares about the growth of his students in and outside of his class.
DO NOT take this course if you struggle with Math. Goes through lectures quickly, skips steps, doesn't explain how he got answer. Teaches at a level for students who would be ready for advanced math. The homework is hard, his lecture notes don't help too much with trying to figure out hw. Dont bother doing practice exam it doesn't help w real exam.
Math137. Tough grader. Lectures don't help with homework. Exams are 80% of grade. Textbook is little help. Avoid at all costs. Basically paid to teach myself from material online. Accessible out of class, but adds so much time to already time consuming class. Expect 20+ hours per week on classwork and studying.
Mr Campbell is arrogant. He doesnt listen to students and thinks for only himself. He needs to be more kind and caring.
The amount of students that fail Jamie Campbell's classes are evident to his failure as an educator. You would think after the average of every exam is an F, he would consider that his teaching has been inadequate. Nope, that's just "the power of mistakes" to him. Nothing will be done either, since he is on the school admin board. Very sad.
Jamie Campbell's rating overall rating should be so much lower. I've never seen more people fail so many midterms and the overall class. He forces his online asynchronous classes to take exams in person. He is arrogant and doesn't recognize that his methods may not work for everyone (the majority of his classes!). He should not be a math teacher.
Prof. Campbell is a nice guy but a bad teacher. Even though its an online class he makes you take tests in person. The lectures do not even relate to the homework. Probably going to have to retake this class because he does not teach what he quizzes on.
The worst professor I have had at SBCC so far. Is not flexible with his students in helping them. Doesn't teach the material and says to watch his lecture videos to learn the material. I dont know how he is the department head...
avoid this class!
If you have a basic understanding of Algebra you will do fine. He has online video lectures and you can just follow along. While this works for me, it might not work for others. Although his class is online, his exams are in person, and quite difficult if you do not have an understanding of the material. Expect to put work in yourself!
Lectures all recorded and not always helpful, but made you have tests in person. Homework was reasonably but putting in your answers was difficult. Put in hours of work and studying, but would still get a C on the tests. Was mostly because he is very anal about notation which he didn't mention. Rarely gives partial credit.
Jamie's explanation is very unclear, in other words, not helpful to you. He also likes to skip a lot of key steps, leaving you confused. Then there's the fact that he has very little practice and never gives you a solution, so you can't quickly figure out where you're wrong. Anyway, I'm not taking his class anymore.
This class is very hard I do not like mr campbell:( he is tough grader on tests
Strict class rules, strict math rules, hierarchical relationship, teaches you how to obey his nitpicky criteria, you will lose points for tiny things, red marks on homework for messy work or too much work, avoid this professor. On the good side, he is incredibly talented at math, often available to help, wants you to understand the material well
Awful professor. Hybrid class meetings only once a week. And for like 3 weeks he wasn't there. Does not actually teach in-person. All self-taught via his videos that skip essential steps. Exams areworth 50% and he's a tough grader with no cheat sheets. WOULD NOT EVER TAKE AGAIN. RUN FAR AWAY.. unless you're super comfortable teaching yourself math.
Worst math professor out there. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
He is very strict with everything. You will receive markdowns if you use another teacher's methods. Very tough grader, take this class with a different professor if you can.
He is a very tough grader. Take this class with a different professor if possible.
Definitely the hardest math teacher in the department. He's condescending towards students, pedantic w/notation, and not very accommodating. Work feels unnecessary and long and didn't learn much at the end of the class, especially when compared to "easier" classes like 210 w/Pretel. I'd recommend taking this class with another teacher if possible.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Listen to me carefully when I say this, it is better to take the class next semester with ANOTHER professor than to take this class. He took 15 points of one of my assignments just for scribbling an answer off to correct it. He chooses the hardest most difficult calc questions and doesn't teach you how to do it .
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS . He cannot teach and when he tries to explain how to solve a question he explains it in the most impossible way ever. I had an A+ in precalc and still failed some tests in this class. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A STRONG BACKGROUND IN CALCULUS YOU WILL FAIL
If all the other math classes are full and this is your only option left during registration just take math next semester. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
Never seems to cover what will be on the homework/exams in the lecture packets as the way he describes concepts are in an extremely broad manner. He frustrates me, and the math tutors when I have to ask them a question. I would not apply for any classes taught by Mr. Campbell, however if I had met him in a non-school setting I would like him a lot.
Genuinely one of the worst professors I've ever had the misfortune of having. My class's average lay in the 50% range for nearly every test. His tests are absurdly difficult, and he failed the majority of my class. There is nothing you can possibly do to please him unless you are perfect. I don't understand why he was hired. Avoid at all costs.
This class is challenging, but the professor is helpful if you put in the work. Attendance is mandatory, and the grading can be strict. Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for preparing for tests alongside the course materials.
Tests every 3 weeks. You only have half of a class period to complete a test that should take the full period. Very condescending towards students. Does not set you up for success. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR IF POSSIBLE
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! He is very condescending toward students, and his lectures are impossible to learn from. He is very pedantic with his notation, and doesn't answer questions. I took a precalc class before his and I had an A+, but is his class I ended up with a C. This man singlehandedly destroyed my mental health in one semester.
Condescending replies, stops contact if you're behind. Prioritizes rigid pacing over clarity. Heavy use of a clunky, outdated online system for homework. Random exam changes mid-semester. Grade boosters don't offset rushed content. Sub-70% pass rate—avoid if you actually want to learn Differential Equations. Sign up early for someone else.
The way Jamie handles homework and feedback for it is grossly tedious and unhelpful... I think it's to make grading easier? Don't really feel confident in the content despite being very on top of the work so far. otherwise, he's very responsive to class questions and emails, albeit a bit rude... willing to help our class pass but isnt nice about it
This is without a doubt the hardest math professor at SBCC he excepts nothing but perfection. He's not a good dude and his grading and exams are insanely hard and flat out unfair. Don't take him.
Unfairly specific about notation you use in homework and exams... I put a small, rightward arrow indicating where my work was continuing and got points marked off? There is nowhere he specifies his preferences except handed back work. If you use algebraic methods from previous classes he hasn't pre-approved, you will also get marked off.
Unless you have exceptional learning ability and mental endurance, don't expect an A. The professor doesn't care if no one gets an A. Attendance is mandatory but only deducts points. Homework is heavy yet worth just 15%. Exams are extremely hard, cover unseen problems, and count for 85%. Take it next term if possible.
Professor Campbell is a good guy, though I wouldn't recommend his class. Very harsh tests with questions you wouldn't come across on his practice exams or homework's. And in lecture speaks pretty fast. He definitely knows his stuff and is great in math, but the class seems to have been made excessively hard.
This class was probably the hardest math class I have taken. Every class has lengthy lectures that are always rushed, and the tests are very difficult with witheringly low averages (most people did not pass). Jamie assigns copious homework that is graded on accuracy, and though he is a cool guy, it's super hard to do well or even pass the class.
class averages of 30-40%, everyone drops, impossible to prepare for his test, egotistical control freak who genuinely does NOT want students to succeed, lectures are confusing, pedantic, and useless to learning the material. Highest grades on exams were C's and D's (which I had), drop math for the semester if you have to take it with him, AVOID PLZ
