she is a really nice teacher, she hardly ever gives homework. little book use, midterm rather easy, class is fun unless you have a rude and rowdy class. then you will have bookwork.

Her class was extremly easy. We had an easy midterm paper and a group speech for a final. She is really funny so get on her good side. If your with a rowdy class than she will make things a lot harder on you. If your afraid of public speaking, take her class, you will get over it real quick.

Mrs. Kerr is an outstanding teacher. I am not in to public speaking so was a little apprehensive, but she helped me deal with my fear and I got through the class with an A. You will have a good time and do well as long as you participate during class and don't miss speech days (attendance and daily participation are part of the grade)

Very laid back professor, made the class easy & fun. We only had one exam in her class & you do need to study for it. I studied & got an A. Come to class because you get points for the little group things done in class. If you come to class & give your speeches you will have no problem. The final is a group speech. Easy A, take her class.

Great teacher. Easy grader. Follow guidelines given to get good grades. Extra credit given. I took the online class version and had to attend orientation and 2 speech times. Group project also within class work but was an easy A. Have no fear, easy class.

Very helpful, generous with grades as long as you put forth the effort, extra credit given, took online, had mandatory orientation, three speeches at campus and group project. Do the work and you'll be fine. She is crystal clear on everything too and very helpful should you need to turn to her for anything.

Ms. Kerr was great. She made class fun and had a lot of personality. She's not a overly hard teacher but you will need to do the work. If you pay attention most peolple should be able to pass without any problems, but if you put the effort in getting an A is possible.

Speech class in general is very tough because you have to put out a LOT of work for the speeches. But the tests were as easy as they could get- taken online so we could use the book! She has a lot of personality, is crystal clear about assignments, and is a GREAT teacher. It is very easy to fail if you do not the work, easy to pass if you do.

I took Kerr for speech in a distance learning class. A nice, fun, interesting lady. She gives a decent amount of homework every week (1-2 hours). If you keep up with it though and do everything she says, you're guaranteed an A. You can use your book on everything too (online) so the tests and quizzes are easy. I recommend her for this class.

Nice but doesn't get back to questions real fast, which is kinda important when youre taking an online course

There is a lot of outside reading and homework, but it isn't hard. Just time consuming. There is a group project! You do two actual speeches and she well prepares you for them! No notes. They are online. If you come to class, you don't have to take the tests, which is a plus

Im taking her Speech class online because I have to take this class for my major. You have to meet 4 times on campus to give speeches, but she is super easy grader. If you do the work, you get an A. She responds to emails quickly. She is VERY clear about exactly what she expects out of each speech and homework assignment. Deffinitely reccomend!

Took her in the fall, very helpful if you are there to learn. Definately recommend her.

Jamie Kerr was awesome! She is an excellent professor and she WANTS you to do well. I took her during the Summer ONLINE, and it was probably the best course to take during the Summer. It's speech, so you do have mandatory speeches that you have to do on campus, but she's an easy grader and she isn't to hard to please. Take her.

Wonderful personality, funny, personable and interesting are how I would describe Ms. Kerr. Speech class isnt easy in general but she makes the class fun. People who write in and say she gives too much work and not to take her class need to get over it! News flash: This is college!! You're not supposed to just skate by. You need to put in the work!

Professor Kerr is very helpful and the class is easy. There are lots of quizzes, but she lets you use notes, so if you can read and write, and come to class and participate, you will get an A. She makes the clas fun. I highly recommend her!

I had this class online and while it was not hard at all... There is a TON of homework. More than any class I have ever taken. The speeches were not hard to do,she is very understanding that most people fear speech. I would do it again, but not online.

Great Teacher, Interesting Class!! I took this class online and it was very easy if you just read and pay attention to the due dates. We did have assignments due every week but nothing too strenuous. Had to do 3 speeches.

Kind of easy, though you should expect work. She's a good teacher who really knows what she's talking about and is passionate about the subject while genuinely wanting her students to learn. Not the kind of class for a classclown but she encourages good-natured fun. Best thing is she allows us to use our notes on the already easy exams and quizes

She is a great teacher! I dreaded the speeches at first but by the end of the semester, I had overcome my fear of public speaking and gained a lot of self confidence. Do your homework, prepare your speeches, stay in contact with her and you should get an A. She is definitely an asset to the program. Highly recommend!

Great teacher! She knows her stuff and really wants her students to be interested. this is not an easy A class, there is A LOT of busy work, but YOU will know all of the material before you leave her class. Speeches are tough for me, but she gives hints and tips that really helped. i highly recommend her, but dont expect an easy A.

Prof. Kerr is an amazing teacher. I took her class online during a 6 week summer course. It was a decent amount of work for 6 weeks but totally doable. Would be a breeze during a regular semester. She truly loves what she does and is very helpful with helping you over coming your fears of public speaking. Would most definitely take her again.

She assigns a TON of work! She grades very fair on speeches. Her class isn't hard but it is WAY too much busy work for an online class! Also group projects for online classes are a no! 6 people in a group trying to all get our schedules coordinated. Not easy but 5 of the 6 managed. Mid term and Final exams are lengthy! Time consuming!

Class is a hybrid so your on school grounds one day and online the other. She's east going and if you do all your work you'll pass.

there's online homework due every week, as well as personal journals, but those easy As add up in the end. her tests and quizzes are online in Quizlet as well so those are easy! the only hard part about her class is the final presentation, but if you prepare and rehearse she makes you feel so comfortable and it's really easy

Very helpfull and very fun

She's super smart and really funny. Don't skip class! It's half online and half in-class. If you skip the in-class days, you won't pass. She keeps class as upbeat and engaging as she can.

I took the blended version of this course, saw her once a week. She was a lot of fun, but I hated the group projects. There were 2 GP/Speeches in the semester, if you ended up with a good couple of people, it was a breeze. I did not, and I asked her to do the projects solo, which she allowed. For my online exams, Google and Glossary.

She is very talkative, allows you to speak freely, nice and easy going. MUST show up for class, it is part of grade. Crucial to miss just one day of class if you are trying to get an A+. Learn something new everyday. Pop quizzes. Must do informative speech in order to pass class. No make up assignments. Just go to class and do the work to pass.

She's cool and loves what she does. Always go to class in order to pass it is a grade.1 speech to say aloud which you must do in order to pass, if not just drop and bunch of notes/quizzes but most notes are on blackboard. Need to be able to comprehend material deeper than what is just expected. She is always available in her office.

I worried about taking an online class in a very short semester, but I absolutely love it. You won't go wrong with this one. The textbook is easy to read and assignments are clear and not difficult. Great reviews for exams and fast answers when I emailed the teacher. She is hands-down the best teacher I have had and really cares about her students.

Even though this class is short and online, it is not stressful. Taking it in summer is no problem and a good way to get in a communication class. The professor is amazing and helps you any way she can. Follow her instructions for assignments and read the textbook and reviews, and you will do well. Would absolutely take her for any other class.

Took for one of the summer terms. Awesome Class, really easy and fun class! Each week was a quiz and writing response (just like discussion board) Would definitely take again!

It was an okay class. She takes points for participation so if you miss you will lose points (TBH I didn't show up a lot but I got an A+) there were only 2 major speeches, one of them was a group project and a final.

I normally would not enjoy a speech class but this professor made the class fun & made you feel more relaxed on speech days. Shes always in a great mood! She does take participation grades so you have to show up. There is sometimes homework online but its not hard at all. As long as you actually put in the effort you will easily pass this class.

Professor Kerr's class is awesome, so is she! Easy test, notes posted on BB or can take pics. Showing up does matter, you will have a speech DUH, but the final was a group speech! Extra credit options, and not too much homework. She is very good at communication, and will work with those whom don't understand.

I took Professor Kerr online and it was seriously the easiest A ever. Do your work and you will make an A. Discussions posts, 5 quizzes, 3 speeches (all mandatory to pass), a couple participation activities, midterm, 1 group project and the final. I used my book. Would definitely take her again!

She cares about her students and paired us with people of different strengths so no matter where you are on public speaking you could grow. We had 3 impromptu speeches that were pretty easy; 1 about someone who inspired us, 1 informative and 1 persuasive that required research and sources. The last one was a group project for our final.

I absolutely LOVED her class. Public speaking can be scary but she made it fun. Get ready to make new friends. Seriously guys this class was FUN. She talked me into competing in the speech tournament and I am forever grateful because I learned to face some of my lifelong fears. No textbook. Take her classes for real.

She is so sweet and will work with every person to make you feel comfortable. She makes it vey easy to get ready for each speech. The grading criteria is put in place to help you, if you do your work. She will give great feedback to make your public speaking better to help you all throughout college.

Though I despise public speaking, Professor Kerr really made it fun and easy. I learned so many useful skills that I will be able to use not only in academic or business settings, but also in general life settings. She provides plenty of extra credit opportunities and doesn't grade too harshly. I'm so glad I took her class.

Ms. Kerr is very likable and a great speech professor. She is very clear with expectations, she expects your best and is firm. Attendance is mandatory otherwise you will miss a good amount and a possibly grade depending on the day. I highly recommend taking her class even if you are shy and timid.

Ms. Kerr was a great professor. I took her speech online and it was great. 2-3 simple assignments per week, two recorded speeches, and a group project at the end. She is very clear on grading criteria and responds to emails quickly. She is a fair grader and was overall a great class. Easy to pass.

No textbook. Don't skip class or you could miss an assignment, and missing even 1 or 2 assignments can be the difference of a letter grade. She gave some extra credit, but most of the grades came from the assignments leading up to the speeches. Assignments are due at 11:00pm not midnight, so beware of the deadlines. Solid chioce for a speech class.

Honestly knew I was going to have a hard time going into this class because Ive always hated giving speeches, but her feedback was always so uplifting and the grades were rewarding! The workload could be a bit heavy, but it was easy for the most part! No exams!

Overall the class was a good class a fue class sessions were difficult and I feel like they could have been explained better in a different way other than that the class is interactive and participation is mandatory.

Aside from the speeches it was very group-work heavy so be mentally prepared for that. Prof was very nice, very organized. However I found myself very confused on many assignments due to unclear criteria, and many classmates echoed the same thing, so make sure to ask questions during class when unsure about things.

Great class, could get to be a little too much at times but that can be expected through a quick 5-week course. We had a bunch of quizzes with 2 attempts and then a few discussion boards all the answers to the quizzes were online and you could pull off an A without studying. As far as discussion boards just read the textbook and answer the question

Professor Kerr is a great speech teacher. She has lots of patients for her students, especially those who struggle. She also gives amazing lectures and is very clear on how we need to do the assignments.

I only took this class to fill my major. Online classes be prepared to have to record 2 speeches. Rest of the work is pretty easy, except the stupid group project. Professor is cool, easy to reach out to and fair grader.

I really enjoyed having Jamie in the spring semester of 2022. She makes students step out of their comfort zone with the three speeches she assigned during the semester. She's also a wonderful person. Would highly recommend.

Take Prof Kerr. She cares about her students' success and did a great job of making a safe judge-free environment for a class like this. She did a great job of guiding us all through the class. Gave clear directions and rubrics for speeches, good feedback. You have to show up for participation points and class work can't be made up.

She has a lot of respect for her students. All independent research projects. There's a lot of in-class group work, usually with the people sitting around you, a great class to make new friends. I recommend taking this class sooner rather than later b/c you'll learn other important skills like collaboration, research, how to cope with anxiety, etc.

The majority of us are taking this class to gain more knowledge or confidence in speech, but this teacher made everything very easy. The mini prompt speeches and projects were easy and will help a lot. She is very understanding, and her lectures are very clear-cut. Wonderful class and teacher!

Take her! I was terrified to take a public speaking class but she made it so easy and honestly super fun. She is very laid back and does not judge you at all. Clear expectations/grading criteria and very time efficient. 2 major speeches with a few mini ones in between. Loved her!

Very organized and planned on her assignments, making easy to students to understand clearly about each work that has to be done. Supportive during presentations, caring and giving good feedbacks. Despite taking this class is required for credits, I really liked learning from her.

she's very easy going, there will be two speeches you have to give throughout this course, you cant pass the class without doing these. she provides guided notes for tests as homework, and as long as you turn them in the next class you'll get to use them for the tests. Literally has the answers for questions, super helpful! Would 100% take again.

jamie made this class so easy, im usually not good at public speaking. but she really sets you up for success. this was the only college class ive taken where the students actually communicated with eachother and got along.

I just finished this class with Mrs Kerr with a 101, she has so many opportunities for extra credit and gives very clear directions for each assignment. 10/10 would recommend.

Professor Kerr is so great! She is very lively, kind, and to-the-point. This class had two major speeches, a few smaller speeches, and a few easy assignments. Takes some work but nothing daunting! Just put effort into your speech prep and you should have no problems in this class :)
