Ms. Lail was super helpful with ideas and directing our focus. Even though I would read and not understand somethings, as soon as we went over it in class- it was crystal clear.

Jamie lail is an inspiration to my life. She motivated my interest in politics, history, literature and most of all, women.

Cared about her students and would offer to help on her own time outside of class. Followed the calendar but would change things up if things got to busy.

I love this class so far. The discussions are open and honest. It is easy to talk to Mrs. Lail and you always feel like you are being heard. I love the topics and the way that she explains things. She helps with outside work like scholarship essays. I would totally take her again!

I had Jamie for both English Composition 1 and British Literature. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had. While we read a lot in both courses, the novels & stories were always interesting. Our lectures are more of a conversation, and she provides great insight. Not only is she incredibly smart, but she is so sweet & funny.

This is a dual credit class. I had Ms. Lail for both Comp classes and took her again for my Brit Lit courses. She is absolutely the best. Invests in her students. Cares about their future. Awesome.

This is the best professor I've ever had. Not only does she provide great feedback to students and gives bomb lectures, she is also genuinely concerned for their well-being and final grades. I never expected to learn so much in an English class. I am blessed to have had her for both English Comp. and British Literature.

Mrs. Lail is an amazing teacher had her for dual credit classes and she is a very god teacher she'll help you out and tell you what you can do to fix things on your paper. Yes you'll write a free papers but there over topics you'll understand.

I'm taking Jamie Lail right now for dual credit classes. I have NEVER learned so much in an English class. Lectures are awesome. She expects you to come prepared with something to say so if you do that you're good. The stuff we read is so cool. Some of its hard but she breaks it down so you can understand it. I wish I could take Brit Lit with her!!

Very loving Professor who makes you fall in love with her class.

I hate English, but this is the first class that actually made me interested in anything remotely English. Lail is an amazing professor who loves what she teaches and makes you fall in love with it also. She's also really caring and will work with you if you need help or you just need that extra push.

By far the best teacher ive ever come across. She is caring, helpful, and a great teacher. She truly knows how to explain and get everyone to listen and keep motivated.

I took Ms. Lail for dual credit English Comp and Brit Lit. Her lectures are fun and interesting. She cares that her students do well in her class, and will often help you on assignments or papers if needed. You have to read quite a bit for her class, but if you show up to class, put in some effort, and do your work, youll pass. Love her!

This is my second year to take Ms. Lail. I had her for both of my Comps and I am back for Brit Lit. There is so much reading but I love hearing Ms. Lail talk about the stories. Mrs. Lail is truly one of the best professors that I've ever had. She makes sure that the students are engaged, which isn't hard for her because she's quite animated. She loves what she does and that's easy to see. She is straight forward about her expectations and always provides feedback.

Best professor I have ever had. When I signed up for her class, I was very nervous as to how I would do because English has always been my least favorite and worst subject. I finished with the best grade I have ever had in an English class and she genuinely made the class fun for me. Always has students engaged and is an extremely caring.

Very easy professor. I took the online class over the summer, and you may have a few assignments due the same day but nothing too difficult. If you put a little bit of effort you'll get an easy A. The class itself was a bit boring once we got to the poetry part. We had to write a research paper about poetry, which was not fun at all.

I took this class online for the summer. She is a very good professor who mostly always gives you good feedback or helps you understand what you did wrong. There is a lot of assignments for the class but they are not hard at all. The class is just time consuming and takes effort. But if you show that you care she will give a good grade.

I had to make this class online and it was pretty easy. You have to make sure to participate on the discussion boards and really know the poems you read. The only difficult thing are the exams. They are multiple choice, but you really have to know the characters, the authors personal history. I do wish that her reviews were a little more detailed.

This is the best English teacher I have ever had. She was very hands on and really cared about you understanding what was being taught. Super nice and lay down back but does not play about disrespecting other students. But overall really good teacher and class was really good

I took Professor Lail during the summer and she was great! She is a little bit of a tough grader and there are assignments due every other day which may be a little hard to keep up with. If responds to emails quickly and is super nice. I definitely recommend taking her.

Despite the course being loaded with work, I enjoyed this class. Some reviews may say that she does not give feedback, but she is the professor who actually given me tons of feedback and how to improve. I emailed her a few times and each email was filled with feedback and encouragment. Definitely would take her again if I could!

I took Prof Lail for 1302 online. I had a lot of questions but she was super, super patient with me. She gave awesome feedback on my work. I definitely improved in my writing.

I took her for wintermester and passed with a B. I am not good at papers so the B is good for me. Not as much writing as I had anticipated. I highly recommend her.

I took Professor Lail for 1302 and really liked how personable she was. I did have questions and she was really good about giving a detailed answer. I didn't feel ignored like with other professors or like there was a generic response. You do have a few essays and writing assignments but it is an English class, hello? Loved her, would take again.

I took prof Lail for both ENGL 1301 & 1302 and enjoyed her in both classes. I will say her 8 week class is a little more difficult, theres multiple assignments due a week and you dont have as much time to work on your essays, but overall shes not a very tough grader so its okay. Shes a very kind and caring prof. 10/10 would take again.

Though it does seem to take a while to get grades back, she is very fair with her grading and her lessons are fun in a way that you don't typically find in a college course. Her topics and lesson plans are relevant and thought-provoking, and her feedback is super relatable. 10/10 would recommend Prof. Lail. She's awesome.

Prof Lail is supportive and encouraging. However, she was delayed in grading this semester. I would take her again but the delayed grading did make doing new assignments inconvenient at times, without having feedback from past assignments to correct any mistakes I make. I received no feedback on my final paper's rough draft or final draft.

Thought provoking discussion boards and papers. She provided lots of material to help w completing assignments. Slow response to emails & VERY slow grading. Did not get timely feedback on the rough draft for my final paper. Semi-organized, but there were some mistakes on her end. Overall not a bad professor, but could be better. She is decent!

I loved this professor. I see a lot of comments about slow grading but I didn't have the same experience. And the feedback I got was way better than I normally get. It was detailed and specific and timely. I had a personal issue during the semester and Prof Lail was genuine and helped me find a way to stay on track academically She is the real deal

Taking English 1302 online with Professor Lail has been delightful. Professor Lail gives proper feedback on summited essays and or work. If you have any questions regarding her feedback, all you need do is email her and she will email back. The modules are organized and thorough. Highly recommend taking her course.

She is amazing teacher. She cares about you all the way to the end and is very respectful. Even outside of office hours you can always get her. The papers were not to hard,she still helped me by showing me how to revise my intro paragraph. Over all she is an amazing teacher and I can't wait to have her again for British Literature next semester.

Took her Summer class. Lots of reading, 3 essays, discussion boards. Easy grader, fun material (although I'm an English major so idk). Essays are kinda big but she's clear on what she wants and gives great feedback. Would recommend/would take again.

Prof Lail is awesome! I have never been good at English (second language) and I didn't do great in 1301 so I was nervous and asked a lot of questions. She was really patient and detailed and encouraging. I got great feedback on my assignments even though some say she doesn't give feedback. I feel like such a more confident writer. she is great!

Best professor ever. Even the lectures are really interactive and fun. Also, she is the most caring and understanding person I have ever met. All that is needed is to do your work which is not difficult or a lot and you will have an extremely high grade.

She is great! Very helpful and great feedback on all work. Lots of reading required for the assignments. Essay1 10%, Essay2 15%, Essay3 25%, Final Exam 10% and discussions and assignments are 40% over your overall grade. Every easy and step by step pace class. Her grading is not as tough as most.

Comp was a breeze but Brit lit is a tad bit harder. The texts are full length books and hard to digest. You also have to read them quickly. And even if you read, the quizzes are still confusing. Ms. Lail is a wonderful teacher, she is great to just talk to and the discussions in her class are lovely. The class can get stressful, but very passable

I took Professor Lail for four classes and I wish she could teach all my classes. She is inspirational, she is real, she is encouraging and she is super smart. She is truly invested in her students and if you start slipping, she will find you and encourage you until you have to finish. I will NEVER forget her. She is the best!!

I loved this class. It isn't easy, and there is a lot of reading, but Professor Lail gives great feedback. I took the accelerated summer course online. At times it was a lot and felt overwhelming, but I also felt like she was setting me up to succeed. If you care about learning to write better or analyze literature better, then take this class!

Oh my goodness!!! I took this course last year as a dual credit and Mrs. Lail was probably the best English Composition and Brit Lit professor ever! I love her perspectives on the readings we did. Honestly, I slacked off and didn't read the text (I used a LOT of summaries) but I still enjoyed the class! Easy quizzes, ten page essay, and group work.

Jamie Lail is an awesome professor and her class ENGL-1302 was the highlight of my spring semester. Not much work is needed to achieve an A and you'll learn a lot of fun material throughout the course. NO timed/proctored assignments, 1-3 weekly lessons, and engaging short stories/poems!

My glorious queen Mrs. Lail I was privileged to have her for the last 2 years for both English comp and British literature. She herself is a great person very understanding of unforeseen circumstances. her courses themself are very informative and she knows how to teach them very well. 10/10 teacher the type of teacher you remember for years.

I loved this class and the professor! You can literally get an A by doing the bare minimum of completing the clear criteria she sets. She does take time to respond, but I took this class during the winter holidays so that's expected. She did not count off for any late work, and when I reached out for help she was helpful and reassuring!

I took Professor Lail's Wintermester 4-week course. English composition is going to be a ton of reading and writing, there's no way around that no matter the professor. She is consistent in her assignments and uses openstax for the literature read. The material isn't hard just stay organized.

Professor Lail was Incredible! I took this class online and it consisted of 1-2 assignments per week. Majority of the assignments were discussion post analyzing a certain story you read. The other assignments were a follow up to the discussion. Gives 3 essay that were really easy but are time consuming. Very caring and responds to emails quickly.

Professor Lail is a 10/10 professor. Took her for a summer semester and found her class to be really enjoyable. You have 3 papers to write but they're only around 1200ish words and you choose what stories to write about. You have discussion posts and little side quest assignments but it's all manageable for a 1 month class. She's really nice too!

Professor Lail is an excellent professor. 3 major essays, some discussion boards, some easy short response/thesis development assignments strewn throughout the course. She is an excellent grader and gives good feedback, and the essays are not too difficult, although they require some research and critical thinking.

She is super sweet, if you are having trouble with an assignment or a quiz, or have a question. Just email her, she is very kind. As long as you keep up with your work you should be good!! Very fast responder, if you are having trouble or are gonna have to do something a day late, just email her she's super understanding!! Lots of stories to read!

Lovely professor with intro videos and links to readings. Textbook wasn't a necessity, and had many background knowledge for authors of each era that was easy to follow. Responds to emails quickly and is extremely helpful. Made Brit lit fun.

I took her 8-week online course. It is a lot of work that is quickly paced. However, if you read the stories, you'll be fine. The typed discussion boards are a big part of the course. There are 3 exams which are proctored, but reviews are given. There's a 5-7 page essay, but that's the only "essay" in the 8 week course. Professor Lail is AMAZING!:)

If you complete your work on time and turn it in, you will have no problems. It consists of essays no more than 500 words, and it includes some discussion boards and quizzes, but it is not hard.

I enjoyed her class, but it was A LOT of reading and writing. I did more work in this class than in my other 3 classes combined which says a lot. She was a good professor, so I'd probably take her again if I had to.

Professor Lail was AMAZING! I took her 1302 16-week course, and she was so caring, gave great feedback, and was a lovely grader if you followed instructions/the rubric. She had no quizzes; only weekly readings, discussion boards, lectures, and three essays in total. She replied quickly to my emails and gave explicit confirmation when needed.
