This class is very hard. He is a good teacher but the test that he gives are extremly dificult. Only take him if you are a business major and would really like to learn the material.

This teacher is anything but hard. He gives no h.w. and he gives a "Practice" Test when new material is started. The test is exactly like the practice test. And you can use a notcard, and he doesnt care about atendance. And he curves every test

Great teacher, as said above, practice tests are given and the notes are very helpful. I recomend taking him for economics, just make sure you study for the test. There is no need to buy your book for this class.

Very good professor but test are very hard. I am looking at a B but he was cool about it, and offered an A if I ace the last two test. Always willing to help, but has no office, so be prepared to ask ques. in class.

Wonderful Professor, will make you love economics. He provides you with all the learning materials you will need for success in his class. However, you must come to class if not you miss too much. Material is fast paced and full of information.

Very good professor. He explains everything clearly and until you understand. (Very visual teacher!) Always offers extra help if needed. I heard this class was pretty difficult, but with Shipley- it wasn't too bad! I would refer anyone to him!

It does not get any easier than this! You grade is made up of 4 test. He drops 1. He curves the grades. He had 25 percent curve on the first test. This semister he let us take the 3rd test and the final home and gave us 2 weeks to complete! It does not get any easier than this. He is also funny!

You do not need the book for this class. Everything is covered in the notes. Take home final.

I took this class for Macro during the summer semester. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!! he gives 3 test and drops the lowest grade. Test are based on previos exams he will make available to you on your courses. He never takes attendance, only the first day of class. Take home final!!! you could work together!! ALso he lets you use one note card for test

Took during summer, didn't touch the book. His reviews have the same style of questions as his tests. We almost always got out really early so if you show up late you might miss most of class. He's really personable and gets sidetracked some times when talking with the class. Also, there are 2 tests & a final, you can drop either or both tests.

2 tests 1 final, drop one or both tests. VERY EASY since the tests and final = replicas of the study guides he has on atlas. HE DOES ALL OF THE PROBLEMS FOR YOU+ HE GIVES YOU THE ANSWERS in class. now he'll just change the numbers 4 tests. attendance is not required but you should show up for answers to guides. class varies from 1-2 hours. no book

Very Cool Professor! He moves very quickly through the material. No Book Needed. 2 Tests and a Final, but the Final is the only one you need. Always wraps up class early and not strict on attendance. Don't be fooled though...tests are difficult even though they are multiple choice and you can use a note card!

Jamie is funny, witty, entertaining and kinda hot! He treats students like adults, doesn't keep you late and no homework. He knows a lot about the world and is great at relating Economic policies to everyday life. Grading is fair. You're an idiot if you don't get an A. I actually looked forward to class. Great Professor!!! He is extremely interesting and funny too. Treats everyone fairly. I never touched the textbook. Also, he has different ways to grade you(drop 1 or 2 test bad test, etc.), it really is hard to fail this class.

Had him for micro. Awesome teacher. He's fun, quick, and very easy to listen to. I dreaded economics, but I really enjoyed his class. If you pay attention, you will get an A.

Took him for both Macro and Micro. The guy is awesome! Keeps things funny, treats students with respect, teaches from notes/lecture..NO TEXTBOOK NEEDED (he'll tell you to return it!). Best teacher at Valencia hands down. He makes class interesting and relates the material to real life experiences. Has a lot of funny stories too. Prof. Shipley took over my online Micro class 3/4 of the way through and was a very nice and understanding professor. The final was quite tough but all the rest of his 5 question weekly tests were easy if you read the book or even looked at his study guides. He does slightly curve grades and is willing to help out students. I Highly recommend.

I took this class 2 times and the first time i faild. I took it with this professor and i past with a 87.5. he is a very good ECON teacher. His example a crystal clear and easily understood. I would extremely recommend his class to anyone that is not very good with economics. Attendance is NOT required at all. NO BOOK is needed. he is an easy A.

Took online in 6 weeks in the summer. Only had 2 grades: midterm and final. The midterm was optional. Tests online. 2 minutes per question. Provides good resources(previous tests, study guides, etc.) and is very helpful when you ask for help. I would recommend this professor to anyone that is willing to study on their own.

This was a nice class. If you hate economics like me than Pro. Shipley is the teacher for you. I took her class this fall and I received a B in the online flex class. There are only three test and one of them gets drop. Plus the final exam has twenty of the forty questions from the previous tests. I recommend her to anyone taking economics.

This guys class was the easiest economics class ive ever taken. hes hilarious and tells u how he really feels about certain things. you dont need a textbook. he has 3 tests including the final. he lets you use an index card on every exam and the final is cummalative which you can just join all the important notes from previous tests. awesome class.

I took this as a night class. Every week he would lecture and do an outline on the board, which is basically what you need to know for tests. He provides practice tests online & is really good at explaining economics. I would recommend you take him

Professor Shipley is a great professor, he is funny, clear and fair. Attendance is not mandatory, but necessary. There are three tests and that's all. Every day you take notes directly off the board while he interestingly explains them- and that's directly what the tests are based off of. He has reviews before the tests and helpful worksheets.

One of the best professors at Valenica. Relates all the material to events going on in our economy so the concepts are very easy to understand. Easy A if you follow directions.

I took the class online over six weeks and enjoyed it. There were only 3 tests that he grades us on. No hw or discussions no quizzes. Your grade in class is only based on those 3 tests. Which were great. Very helpful. I would reccomend this class.

Easy class, interesting material, 3 tests and that is what your grade is based off of, but there are 3 methods to calculate your final grade, and the system automatically takes the highest grade. Got me interested in majoring in Economics :)

NO HOMEWORK. NO QUIZZES. Just 3 tests. He is very funny. His examples are things we can relate to. He gives in class problems and a review before each test. The tests are NOT as easy as the review but are not hard. Overall, it's a fairly easy course. I definately recommend this guy.

Awesome teacher. He is really friendly and the class is fairly easy. Take the notes and make sure to ask questions if needed. Do the practice tests and make a good note card for the test and yo should pass.He he always make sure the class average is %70 s0 a curve is always nice.

I like him. He only has 3 test and that is all you are graded on, but it will curve the classes score to about a 70. He has practice online, but I never did them and I understood the material. Only take his if you learn by just listen and taking notes.

Prof. Shipley was one of the best professors I have had during my college career. Use ALL of the resources provided! Take ALL of the practice quizzes and exams, read through ALL of the materials, and you WILL do well. I did not purchase a textbook for this class, but I did study and use all of the resources available, and I ended up with an A+.

All the content for Eco2013 was very interesting!! I really loved this class and the way it was given!Professor Shipley provides a good amount of resources so students can really learn the content (didnt buy the book). Not a very easy class but worth taking it.

This is a hard class but Professor Shipley is more than willing to help you pass. He provides a lot of practice tests & it helps a little. I would take him again due to the fact that micro & macro econ r very similar in terms of learning content. He explains the content very clearly & provides good notes.

don't buy the textbook, he gives links to previous exams & practice quizzes. use previous exams to study for upcoming ones instead of his practice ones. this class wasn't relevant to my major but I passed with a B because I studied the old exams & practice packets. he grades on a curve after you've taken all 3 exams & if the class average is low.

I enjoyed this class. It is test based, but if you apply yourself and study you should do just fine.

Attendance mandatory if you want to pass, but as long as you take notes on what he goes over you'll be fine. Your only grades will be three exams but he'll weight them in three different ways to make sure you get the best grade. He does expect feedback when he asks a question. Overall as long as you study your notes you'll have an easy A.

Only 3 graded exams total. Read, study and understand all concept guides and practice quizzes in order to do well on the exams. He gives you previous exams to review and they're the same format and difficulty as the actual exams so def use those. Understanding the material was a lot of effort but manageable and he writes most of his questions.

this class is easy as long as you go to class and take notes the lectures, or just get the notes from someone and you'll be fine. he explains everything super well and he also has in-class problems that he goes over with you for each exam. doing the previous exams as practice is almost a must because so many of the questions are the same.

My ECO 2023 was online and made up of only 3 exams. Read the PowerPoint. Do the practice exams and do the previous exams. There will be no extra credit however there is a curve but it's likely you will only see it on the first two exams. There are multiple grading methods so if you do badly on one exam you're not completely screwed. Shipley is good

Excellent teacher. Knows what he's talking about and provides clear and engaging explanation. Although we're only graded on the exams, they're just replicas of prior exams and the exam reviews he provides are very good, so just study those and you can easily get 100%.

He is a great professor! Professor Shipley's methods of teaching keep you interested and make the material easy to comprehend. I was worried because there are only 2 tests and a final as your ONLY grades but if you go to all the classes, take notes and study, you will do well. He provides lots of resources for the tests.
