I have mixed feelings. Yes, she's confusing as hell and seems very disorganized, which doesn't lend credibility as a Project Mgmt prof. At the same time, I think she's gotten a bad rap. She's been very helpful with me and while she may not be a people person by nature, she seems to really try to be fair, and I think she deserves the same in return.

Jan is a harsh grader and tells you how it is, but it pushes you to work hard and better yourself as a professional. The course is 6 credits and is a lot of work, but it is so rewarding at the end of the day. If you take her advice to heart and actively participate during class and with your team, you'll do great.

I think Jan truly does care about her students but she seems to be very biased on who are her favorites and who aren't did you catch her on a good day or bad day. Given that, she is a very tough grader, there are a lot of gaps in the instructions on what she wants you to do, very difficult working with 10-14 people in one group. Be prepared to work

Biggest complaint that most students have is that her instructions and grading criteria are unclear which is a fair observation. However, Jan is upfront about the fact that the instructions in this course are vague and that this is intentional. If you are proactive about finding solutions you will get the answers you seek. Use her office hours.

Challenging yet rewarding. Do not take this class expecting to coast - you will be miserable and make your teammates furious. This course requires hard work, commitment, and a lot of coordination, but is excellent experience. The professor is caring and offers precise feedback; their guidance makes the effort worthwhile.

Jan is incredible. She makes you put in work, but explains the significance of it all. Her background is inspiring and it made me want to work that much harder. The rubric isn't as structured, but she grades for content and offers templates when needed. The entire course is group-reliant so be ready for that! Highly recommend Jan

Jan is a tough grader but wants her students to succeed. She is hard to like due to her arrogant and sometimes condescending tone. It's also clear that she had favorites in class. I disliked that she didn't allow us to select our preferred clients/companies like some other BA495 profs. Overall a challenging but rewarding class.

This class will be the hardest class that you'll take, but it is also the most rewarding. Jan will guide you to answer your own questions and encourage everyone to think critically about each concept, she is strict but is very understanding and reasonable. If you are a slacker or someone who procrastinates often, you're gonna fail this class.

Jan is a tough grader as mentioned above, but if you follow her instructions to the T, then you shouldn't worry as she's always fair. Now this is a 6-credit class, so that means: more work (research, presentation and knowledge) than a 3 or 4cr classes. Although technology might not be her biggest strength, you will learn a lot for sure!

Professor Sturdevant was great. As a capstone class professor, she is obviously looking for students in her class that are wanting to learn and work. As long as you are willing to do that, she is awesome! Grades are always fair and on time, criteria/deadlines are always very clear, and she is any easy professor to talk to if you need extra help!

The whole class is a team project. You will have to work and you do have TWO required zoom classes each week. You will be exhausted but she does end 2 week earlier than the normal term length so the class is shorter. Don't be that person on the team that doesnt help because everyone will hate you! Dont take this class if you dont have to. Was okay.

Jan is a great professor who cares about everyone in the course. She gives a lot of homework and expects everyone to work hard, in order to be prepared for the real world. Majority of coursework are team projects and some are indivdual assignments which include indivdual research paper and quiz. Just finish everything on time and you will do great.

Honestly, I feel that this professor can be overly strict at times, assigning tasks like peer reviews that feel excessive and unclear. The expectations are high, yet the instructions are often minimal, which makes it hard to know what's actually required. It feels more like we're being harshly criticized than guided.

Honestly, Jan was amazing. She is a very tough and inconsistent grader and sometimes too strict on her rules, but she runs an amazing course. If you can become close with group ASAP, the class is going to be the most fun you have. Make sure she knows who you are and that you care. I deserved a 100% in the class, but the experience was worth more.

Do not take this class if you cannot handle a full workload (because it is work load HEAVY!) however, you do work in teams and makes this a little easier. Jan was a great professor for Capstone. You work with a client for 10 weeks and your overall experience depends more on the project you're assigned and the team you are grouped with, but she keeps everything organized and manageable. She isn't a hard grader and is very easy to talk to if you have any issues.
