she gave us a take home test, posts everything online

she is a great teacher, and very nice. she wants everyone to pass her class, and she gives good notes, study guides, and her lectures aren't boring. she tries real hard to make the class interesting, and oftens ends class early too.

funny lady. great class. this is her first semester here so she was a little diorganized but you can't hold that against her. she dropped quizzes and made the final non-cumulative to make up for it. classes are interesting and she's fun. she really wants everyone to pass. note are online too.

Yeah, she's really disorganized. But still, her lectures make the material very easy to understand and the exams are scantron.

I think she's a good prof. She's helpful and nice. Like any other Psych class...u have to study study study! go to class, pay attention, u will do fine. Definately don't choose Atwood over her. Exams are tough.

Very nice lady. All notes online and lectures move at a decent pace. The exams are pretty tough because the frames the questions in an open ended way. If you study your butt off and get a little lucky, you can get an A. The book is useless by the way. No need to waste money on it.

Her exam questions, despite her insistence that she's not out to trick you, are difficult. There are always 2 answers that look right. Overall a very nice professor. It was her first semester teaching at RU. Lecture notes are online, I wouldn't recommend buying the book.

This class ia amazing!!! highly entertaining, you will never be boreed...the midterm and the final are very easy just as long as you study a bit...she gives "sample questions" before the exams so come to class on those days..a GREAT professor

One of the best teachers Ive had at Rutgers. You dont have to go to class but her class was so entertaining it made you want to go. Shes very funny and sweet. I was expecially impressed that she offered a lecture explaining grad school in psychology. Only wish she taught more classes for me to take.

easy class. do not buy the book its a waste of money. just go to class AND print out the notes and you'll be fine. easy A - B. however the class is filled with weirdos, for every psych abnormality discussed there is some nut job in the class who claims to have the condition. J-mo is also pretty funny. great class.

If u get the book, just go over end of chap summaries to familiarize urself with key parts of the disorders and use her class notes (posted online) and ull do fine on the exams. She has the same question on there 2-3 times to offer more credit, so if ur not sure of the answer u have a better chance of getting it right. Corny/funny jokes.. shes cool

2 midterms, one non-cumulative final. Great professor with a lot of clinical experience to share. Shows interesting video clips. Notes and add'l handouts are online. Exams are multiple choice but she'll put some of the questions on there multiple times (exactly the same) to give more points for harder questions.

Go to class and take notes. The class is actually fun. Don't buy the book. There's 3 non-cumulative tests, 75 questions each and a 200/225 is an A. She repeats important questions more than once on the test which is good if u know the answer. Very friendly, and if you ask her questions during tests she'll basically give you the answer.

She makes the class really interesting- you won't want to skip class. You can tell she really wants everyone to do well, so just go to class and you'll be fine. She also puts all the slides on-line. Definitely take Ab Psych with her!

Dr Jan Mohlman, PhD, is a fun teacher to have. Her lectures are pretty clear and certainly can be entertaining, since she spices them up with personal anecdotes. The book she used as a textbook, well... I didn't use mine very much. Dr Mohlman herself has a nice smile. I'm a little surprised to find her attractive.

Jan is a great instructor, but her exams are not as easy as everyone says they are. Definitely not an easy A, but manageable if you study really hard

If all psych profs were like her, I would be a psych major. GREAT professor, very clear, learn a lot, if you study for tests you can do well in her class! Organized, helpful, one of the better professors here at Rutgers. DEFINETLY take her ab psych class.

Prof Mohlman gives good lectures with all the info you need to know for the exam, there was a grading error on one of my exams and she was really quick in fixing everything, she has very flexible office hours and answers any questions, her lectures make the course material interesting

Professory Mohlman is a great professor. She will tell you exactly what you need to know. There are no tricks , so if you pay attention to her lectures and study what is on the review sheet you should be fine. She shows great interest in the material and provides interesting video and examples to make the material more interesting for her students.

She's really funny and interesting, and makes class interesting, but her grading is difficult. She doesn't curve and only allows ONE single extra credit point as a means of trying to boost your grade. Definitely study and youll do fine on her exams

great humor, professionalism, and organization. Provides notes online giving you a chance to actively learn in class as opposed to merely concentrating on note-taking. Also gives a study guide that covers about 90% of the test items so you know what to study. while some may think that she's not that easy, the course itself is generally easy anyway.

She is a great professor who really cares about her students. She's very willing to answer any questions, and she makes lectures FUN! She shares her own clinical experiences too which is cool. Exams are sooo easy, and material is very interesting and definitely worth learning. I would definitely recommend taking this class with her!

Jan is AWESOME, my best teacher at RU, and you learn a lot of interesting things you can't wait to tell other people about. Seriously, try to get in this section, and go to class because there are interesting videos 80% of the class meetings and funny stories.

Professor Mohlman made me love psychology. She is interesting and very funny. Although she only offers up to one point of extra credit for each of the 4 exams, there is no final and if you read the book or the slides, you'll be fine. This was probably my favorite class at RU thus far. I highly recommend taking this course!!!:-)

Great prof. Extremely easy, read the slides she gives you and go to class for the movies. She gives you study guides for every exam and gives an extra credit question on each one too. I haven't even taken the last exam yet and I'm already have a C in the class, not hard.

I have her for abnormal. Fun and easy class. There are 4 exams, no final. Gives out detailed study guides. Shows lots of video clips and is interesting, probably won't fall asleep. Overall awesome, Rutgers better hire her!

An absolute breath of fresh air. Some professors can be stiff and boring, but she definitely isn't! The material is interesting and I love her enthusiasm. The exams are fairly easy and there's no final, just a last exam. I highly recommend taking her class.

I know abnormal psychology is an interesting course on it's own, and almost everyone loved their professors... but Jan Mohlman definitely stands out. I'm super lucky to have her as my professor, and you would be too. No joke, she's one of the best things Rutgers Psychology has to offer.

Professor Mohlman is extremely intelligent, clear, and able to relate to her students. She provides information useful to the field of clinical psychology without overburdening students with minute details that may not be relevant to understanding abnormal psychology.

She is an incredible Professor. I bought the book and only opened it once to check something. But the reason for that, is because she gives you everything you need to know. Slides are posted and you just add your notes to them. Being in class is totally fascinating. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Great teacher! I would definitely take her as other students have stated she is very clear in her lectures. Easy to follow and keep up if you go to class ! the book is only supplemental if you basically missed out on a lecture. In class notes on the provided slides she e-mails you is what you know on exams.

Professor Mohlman is the most interesting, enthusiastic, genuine and caring professor I have come across during my 3 years here at Rutgers. Exams are fair and well written. Lectures are so informative that the book isn't necessary. She is completely approachable and she genuinely cares about her students! She is also pretty funny at times.

my favorite class this semester. I went to every class even though it was late and far from my dorm because the professor made the class very interesting. She gives good examples on the topics she teaches and genuinely cares that everyone gets good grades. I wouldn't mind having her for all my psychology classes.LOVE HER! :)

Mohlman is one of the best at Rutgers. Attendance is non-mandatory, but large numbers still come. She manages to make a large lecture hall seem intimate and engaging. She answers all questions and is genuine when she speaks to the class. Abnormal was the first psych class I actually enjoyed and didn't just coast through.

By FAR the best professor I have ever had the opportunity to have. Not only did she present the information clearly to the class, but she made it extremely interesting. She told us about her experiences and life-encounters which only helped us to understand the concepts. A wonderful person and would take any of her classes again in a heart beat!

Prof. Mohlman is definitely one of the cutest teachers I've had here at Rutgers. She's smart and witty, but isn't rude when talking. She gets the class involved and is easy to listen to. What she teaches is what she expects you to know -- no surprises on the exam. A must have professor.

Best teacher ever! take her. she knows the material well and keeps things interesting. She tells you about cases she has seen in the field and plenty of other demo's to back up everything. You will really learn from her. I'm a psych. major and I wish I could take all of my classes with her.

Reading the notes and filling out the study guide will get you an A without question. Never even opened the book. She is so sweet! Definitely take her if you have the opportunity!

I loved her class. It was so great because there were no tricks. If you follow the notes and use the study guide it is very hard to fail. Definitely take her class if you can, you won't regret it.

The best psychology course I have ever taken in my four years at Rutgers and only because the professor is teaching it so great! She is serious when she says she wants to help you do well. I recommend going to class and then there is no need for the textbook. Tests are completely fair. She is seriously the best professor I've ever had.

Rutgers needs more professors like her. She lectures clearly while incorporating many examples based on her own experiences in the field and adds some funny ones too. These help understand and make the class and material very interesting. Exams not the easiest, need to study a bit though, taking notes helps. Very recommended

Professor Mohlman is a great teacher who really keeps class entertaining even when some of the subject material gets boring. She is down to earth so you can pretty much ask her anything before and after class and she will help you out. By the way she is sexy too, go Jan!

WARNING: This class is not as easy as these comments make it seem. Shes fun and interesting, but tests have a fair amount of trick questions. You also need a 92% to get an A, and there are only 3 tests (50 questions each) that you are graded on. Basically, if you get a C on one exam it is impossible to get an A in the class.

Probably the best teacher at Rutgers! Her lectures are very engaging and shes extremely funny! Im rating this as an easy class only if u attend the lectures.her exams arent hard or tricky at all. gives u study guide.but the difference between an A and a B is attending herlectures. i attended most and studied 3-4 hrs night before and Im gettin an A.

Jan Mohlmann is a GREAT professor. She is definitely the most interesting one to listen to. I barely had to use the book yet I learned alot from going to class. The class wasnt exactly easy but the way she teaches makes you FEEL like it is because its never a drag to go to her class, and the material is presented in interesting yet informative ways

Awesome class. Didn't go to lecture once after the first exam and still got an A easily. Attendance is not mandatory, she gives a few extra credit assignments, and she puts extra questions on each exam for extra points. Kinda regret not going to the class cause she seemed like such an awesome lady.

I really enjoyed all of her lectures. She is very good at explaining her power point slides and often brings fun episodes from her past experience as a clinical psychologist. Her exams though, are NOT as EASY as other people say. Most questions come straight from the slides but you can easily get 8-10 points off due to silly mistakes. BE AWARE.

Some of her lectrues dragged on a little, but her tests are super easy, even if you start LEARNING the material the day before the test.

Attendance not mandatory but she gives out a lot of hints during class for what'll be on exams. Gives out study guides with exactly what is on exams.

She's a great professor!!! Exams are directly from the slides and her lectures. She relates the topics to interesting stories which makes it much easier for the students to follow and not forget. Amazing class!
