Great teacher. Always let us out early. Outlines are very simple and clear. Tests are a little tricky, but if you study hard you will do good. Plus a lot of extra credit.

THE TEST FOR THIS CLASS WAS REALLY HARD CUS THERE'S A LOT OF INFORMATION BUT DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT AS LONG AS U DO THE LABS AND DO THE XTRA CREDIT GOIN TO THE MUSEUM YOU'LL PASS ( SO EASY). SHE'S A REALLY NICE TEACHER AND I'LL BE GLAD TO SAY I'M TAKING HER AGAIN NEXT SEMESTER FOR EARTH SCIENCE... I RECOMMEND TO TAKE HER!!!

Ms. Svec is one of the best teachers at Moraine! She loves what she does, and I actually learned a lot from her class. While her tests are pretty hard, the labs are so incredibly easy, and you can do them with a group. Also, she ALWAYS lets you out early and offers a ton of extra credit.

Very easy teacher. Labs are an automatic A. Tests are kinda difficult, but if you show up to class, pay attention, and take notes, this class will be a breeze! she gives out lecture outlines, so all you have to do is fill in the missing information.

Easy grader, be sure to do all the labs and take advantage of the extra credit. There is enough extra credit to significantly change your grade which helpful if you blow a test like I did. She gives out study guides prior to the test, complete that you should be fine. Tests always include a lab. She's a bit distant but pleasant none the less.

Test are very tough, but even with getting c's on test you can still get an A. Don't miss class cause you'll miss lab points or very easy quiz points, and you need every point you can get. I think she is your best chance at an A, so take her. You get out early alot.

Mrs. Svec is a really great teacher. She makes the class and the labs really easy. She also makes you go to the zoo and the field museum for extra credit for NAT-111 which actually turned out to be really fun.

I failed all of the tests and still managed to get a B in the class. DO the extra credit, take some notes, and do the labs...and I think you will be ok :)

Mrs. S has got to stop getting pregnant! Amazing teacher. hard tests, do the e.c. Her sub that takes over is awful (Sheppard/Doublin). otherwise don't buy/rent textbook the animations are online. Buy lab manuel though. Makes science interesting! She's Canadian haha.

She's really nice and gives out extra credit, if you do it all its 40 points. Her tests are impossible, but if you do all the labs in class and actually show up, you'll get a B. She's always there to help you and has patience. Her lectures are boring, but hte labs are interesting.

Super nice lady, loves to see her students do good. Will definitely help you if you have any questions. But her exams are extremely hard. Quiz and a discussion board posting every week. Do the extra credit, labs, quizzes and discussion boards and you should easily get a B.

Now please note that I am just a student having a bad semester and I am stressed out about classes because I want to graduate in the spring. Svec is really a teacher who actually enjoys what she teaches and she is always just ready to hop up and help you. Very nice but tests are hard and no skipping or you will be in panic mode like me right now.

Jana is cool! She's super nice and Canadian and has an adorable love for nature and birds and stuff. My hybrid environmental science class spent half its time in the prairie or on a trip to the zoo or waste treatment plant. You will have to drive a little bit. But the assignments are easy and a change of pace. Really enjoyed her as a teacher

Jana is a great teacher, her class can be challenging if you don't pay attention. If you do the weekly quizzes (which can be difficult, but are from the chapter reading). You can do great on the tests by memorizing the quizzes. The hybrid class had a weekly reading assignment and 10 question quiz. We met once a week for no more than 2hrs, easy labs

Show up EVERYDAY, quiz's are actually small paragraph of what you learned from the video, Labs are SO EASY, you go over them in class, and are like little overview assessment of what you covered that day. Notes are simple & outlined for you ( so amazing!) Tests are hard if you don't study.. at all. otherwise easy A-B on them. EXTRA CREDIT!!! A

Mrs Svec Is probably one of the best teachers I've had at MVCC. I took the hybrid course and It's really easy and clear layout of what homework and quizzes she aspects. You need a textbook for the readings and she had made her own lab book that is fairly inexpensive. Just show up to class once a week for lab and do your quizzes and discussion board

Such a wonderful teacher! I took the hybrid class and was very nervous because I don't normally do well online. As long as you read the chapters assigned, the weekly quizzes and weekly discussion posts you'll pass easy!

Prof. Svec would email back fairly quick. I was one of the first students to take this course fully online, but it honestly wasn't bad. A lot easier then other science classes I have taken. Although exams are super hard, all the labs and homework are easy and offers 40 points in extra credit. Do all of that and you'll get an A regardless.

Textbook is paid via course fee, and NAT 111 is cheapest biology requirement course (I did the math). Prof. Svec knows her stuff and is nice. The class is formed to be really easy to pass, the extra credit is worth a lot. Take the hybrid or online version, as students often disrespect her since it's the "blowoff" course, and it's distracting af.

A wonderful teacher, she's so passionate about science with a lot of experience. She writes great notes that helped me understand the material. Long lectures but she gives a break. Need to study and pay attention to get an A & The extra credit is a great opportunity to push your grade to a higher one.

Her tests are HARD! I am a hands on learner and because her test is set up for those who learn by reading I am barely passing. I have never done so bad in a class before.

I took it online and it was fine. There's reading and you have to study if you want to pass the tests. Tests aren't as hard as everyone is saying. People are being WAY over exaggerative! Do all the work (labs,quizzes,discussion boards): she grades EASY on them! and use the study guide she gives for tests, and do the ex cred, you will pass!

I took Prof. Svec as a hybrid course. You should read and take notes in this course!!! I spent about 3 hours a week reading and taking notes. Tests are hard, but if you use her study guides and understand the material they're easy. Lowest test score I had was an 82%. Offers a ton of extra credit. Very nice, caring teacher.

Ms. Svec was a very nice teacher and in her class I learned a lot about the environmental changes currently affecting the world. I would recommend this class to anyone looking for a alternative to biology and chemistry. (If the credits count towards your field of study.)

I took Svec with Syrup as a hybrid and Svec was very accommodating. She answered all questions and emailed back very quickly. She was very fair with grading as well. Both teachers were organized and they knew their stuff. I would 100% take Svec again if I need to. This class was well worth the money. If you work hard, you will get a good grade.

One of the few professors that actually care about you. She shows films that relate to the course, yet people have issues with her showing something that helps us learn the concepts. The lady is awesome and works with you so you're successful in her course. I highly recommend her for any science course that anyone needs to take. Awesome professor!!

I took the 8 week online NAT 111 class and received an A. She posts future units ahead of time so you know what to expect. She grades easy on lab work sheets and the quiz answers can be found on quizlet. The tests can be difficult but if you do the worksheets and extra credit you will do well. She responds fast and is a very nice person.

Professor Svec is a very kind person. Lots of lab work and homework. Tests were very difficult and given often, so make sure to study and know your stuff. A good class to take for a science credit overall, but if you're looking for an easy A, this class in not for you.

Easy to talk to and fast communicator and helps with any issues you are having with the work. Easy class but pay attention to when things are due. We usually do reading, discussion, quizzes, and a lab. after a test on the whole unit, it is easy to understand and do.

Honestly one of my favorite professors ever. The class is pretty textbook reliant and there' reading every week as well as exams about every month but if you can get by with that you'll find an interesting professor who really cares about her work. I'm not going into Env science but I have an interest for nature and the class was amazing.

The exams were on honor lock but if you study the quizzes the questions are very similar if not the same. The professor was easy to communicate with thru email. She is also very caring and understanding if you reach out. I would recommend taking this class or this professor.

Great professor who's super passionate. A great choice if you're actually interested in environmental science. Definitely try to take the class in-person, there's fun labs and trips to the zoo and the Little Red School House. The material is pretty easy, it's just a lot of information to remember so make sure to study days in advance for exams.

I really enjoyed this course so much. I felt like I learned a lot about nature and the assignments were extremely fair and easy. I never met this professor in person but in one of the Canvas videos she uploaded for an assignment she seemed extremely nice. I would take this course again 100%.

The uploaded lectures helped so much! Exams are on honor lock, recorded proctor, but as long as you read and understand the material it's fine. Has reasonable assignments, which are guided with self-recorded videos. Overall, extremely reasonable and well-organized. Great teacher

Overall it's a great and easy class for an easy science credit. She doesn't grade heavily at all and just gives you the points you deserve if you put in the slightest effort.

The hybrid style learning wasn't conducive to my personal learning style, but Jana was very understanding and did her best to help me pass the class. Very passionate about the subject and is always willing to work with students. Try to take her in-person classes if you can but if not you'll be fine. She's a solid professor.

Every lecture/lab consisted of a "pop quiz", which was a paragraph about a video we watch at the end. She gives review sheets of everything on the exam. Labs are nothing complex and you just have to complete it. Never had homework and there's 40 pts extra credit. She was such a sweet person, understanding, and loved her! Def recommend taking her!

I took this online class over winter and I definitely lucked out with Jana as my professor! She is amazing, nice, always responded to my emails within an hour, and made the course SO accessible and engaging. She also gave a large extra credit opportunity that improved my grade by 7%. Hands down the best professor I've ever had at Moraine.

Do not slack, actually study or at least glance at the material and you will do good. Not taking the time to study will definitely put you waaaay behind. She was a really good professor.
