west civ is a good class so I took her 161 class too come to find out that it's a 2 prof class and 99% of the class is taught by a different teacher who isn't all that good, everything is from the book you can sleep through the lectures and not miss anything, only reason to show up was daily quizes.

I LOVED Jane Beitscher! She made history fun and I actually enjoyed history class for once.

Jane Beitcher is freakin' AWESOME! She lets you have notes for the tests AND the quizzes! She's a total sweetheart and really funny. Whoever scored her so low is frickin' stupid and probably illiterate as all hell.

Very hyper and scatterbrained... very funny! Do not be absent... not being there will screw you fast. Quizes are actually a lot! Make sure you do the book quizes good! Kiss her butt.... she likes it!

She's a lot of fun. She's very hyper. Really gets you going. Make sure you're there for all the quizzes (especially as the class goes on). She easily gets sidetracked. Love starbucks, diet coke and chocolate. Great teacher.

She is a wonderful professor. History is a pretty boring subject and really easy to screw up/lose class interest. She keeps the class engaged and interested with her energy. Her class is easy in that you get a lot of grades therefore a lot of chances to do well...but that's about it. GREAT TEACHER

Jane makes this class fun, interesting as well. she gets not only into the material taught but she even makes it fun. this professor i have 2 say in one of the handful of professors that makes class easy and interesting for students!

BEST HISTORY TEACHER EVER!!!! Tests are challenging, but not impossible if you take good notes, and go to class. Very passionate, and makes it interesting. I HATE history, but loved this class!!

You actually learn something in this class because she engages you during her class discussions rather than rely on throwing bookwork at you, though you do need to read quite a bit.

History requires a lot of reading, if you can get past that you will do well. Awesome teacher, really.

Took the male HIST and dropped more than once. Too boring. Jane is a great professor and I am learning a lot. Not memorizing the whole %$## book, but really learning HIST. She is great. If you don't score well it is because you are getting back what you invest. And by the way, stop texting in class. You are not that important. Jane is great.

I have taken Jane for every history class she teaches. She gives a ton of reading, but if you are a competent student you will have no trouble in her class. She is the best teacher I have ever had. Period.

Jane has a way of connecting the current times to almost any time in history. I had her for HIST 101 and liked her class so much that I took HIST 171.

When she gives quizs she says you have 5 min. Totally sucks when you aren't good at tests to begin with! Talk about aniexty!

Had her for Honors and it was awesome! I looked forward to class and enjoyed history!!! Before this class I was putting off my gen Ed hist but she made me a history buff- not to mention that I'm passing. I had a good time in her class and learned a lot- enjoying myself in the process!!!

The epitome of erudition, a ripsnorter if you ever met one, Beitscher is charming, STRIDENT, and ENTHUSIASTIC. Mind you, she does have a challenging curriculum, a tendency to rupture eardrums, and a mandatory research paper for HONORS. She doesn't take crap, prefers punctuality, and accepts starbucks before tests (please heed my hints of subtlety.)

Dr. Beitscher is a very knowledgeable history professor. She always tells the class exactly what to study for tests, so that you don't have to waste time with unimportant stuff. There is also a lot of extra credit stuff. She uses the same book from semester to semester so that you can sell it back to the bookstore at the end of the semester.

She is a good teacher. DO NOT use your phone in class she will drop you. You have to read and take notes it helps with all the test. she also lets students have notes on test.

If you really like history, Dr. Beitscher will make you like it even more. A little unconventional. Excellent quality. I am taking 101 just because of her.

Jane is a very good teacher. The only reason I got a B was because I basically didn't care too much about this class (which I regret to this day). Easy, easy teacher and very entertaining. Her laugh sounds like a cackle which makes it funnier. She always seems to have a big smile on her face. She is a very bright person and a great teacher.

This class was so easy! Hardly did any assignments and just took notes. Study for tests. She makes it easy to understand and relative. Ask questions, she's helpful. People hate this class just because its history. I would take her class again.

LOVE her.. Does lecture on the boards, write down everything and pay attention for a good grade. She let's you use two full pages of notes and gives you handouts to use too.. if you are incapable of getting atleast a B with ALL of that help you're obviously an IDIOT... And she's nice and funny. And cancels class kind of alot which is great!

She made the class very interesting by adding personal anecdotes. She always came in the class excited and ready to teach. She doesn't assign much work, but she spends a lot of time helping you to prepare for the quizzes and tests(which by the way are allowed 2 pages of notes front and back).

Porfessor Beitscher did go off topic quite a lot during lectures but it was always relevant to our time period and exiting enough to keep me awake. Her tests are hard, but as long as you read the book, you should be fine.

Jane is a hilarious teacher. Her lectures are very interesting. Take good notes and you will surely pass as she lets you use your notes on the tests and quizzes.

Jane was a very great professor. A lot reviews I read said this class was hard. I thought the lectures and movies were easy. She gives movie "quizzes" just pay attention to the movie not that hard, right? She also allows 2 pages of notes (front and back). On the first midterm I didn't use any notes and only missed three questions. Great class!

She makes you like history! She's awesome and she gets super excited about her topics. Zero homework the entire semester. Tests can be hard but she doesn't make you remember dates and she lets you use two pages of notes. Just don't come to class late because she hates it and thinks it's disrespectful, which it is. Come to class and you will pass.

For the most part, if you show up and focus in class (ask questions when needed, take notes from verbal discussion too) you'll be ok in class. Read the book, I know doesn't sound fun, but just take short notes of chapters from the book and you'll be good in the class. Just don't slack off. She is helpful, just ask her. She tries to make it fun.

She is an awesome professor, who expects the student to do the reading. If you read the content, and show up to class you will do well. I wish I could take another of her classes. She is a real gem.

This woman is amazing. Her lectures are concise, the tests do actually match the reading, and she does not put trick questions in her tests. I honestly dont know where people are coming up with this stuff. Do the reading, youll pass. Dont do the reading, you wont. Its simple, really.
