She gives you the material for the tests. Study it and you got an A.
she explains things way to fast. No calculators allowed!!!!
Keep up with homework and do the study guides and the class will be OK. Sometimes she moves fast, but she is always willing to help.
Wow. Snooze-o-rama. Material was presented, ok, but no sort of interesting, clear, or informative way. Class moved entirely too fast (PreCal Alg) and I did better in AP Calc the year before than in PreCal Alg in her class.
I took pre-cal and I can admit that she did go fast but she always offered up her services after class and her spare time in the office. I bugged her every week for extra help and she never once deined me of that. Without extra help, i would of drowned:o)
There is alot she has to teach thats why some people may think she isn't good but to me she is great and is not hard at all
You must apply yourself to get a good grade in this class. I found out that I did not need this class halfway through the semester, so i stopped going and stopped doing homework. Ended up making a D and not caring. She talked to fast anyways.
Goes too fast to properly get points across. Ignores questions if she doesn't think they are worth answering. Doesn't allow calculators, yet gives timed tests. Gives "short cuts" rather than explaining the entire process. Very confusing and borr
Very good teacher. If you like math you'll enjoy it, if you do not you'll learn it. Do homework, follow her in the class and you'll get an "A".
I fairly good teacher I suppose, but be warned: 4 tests, 10-12 questions each. No quizzes. No multiple choice, no calculators. This is pretty harsh for some people (me), but if you study a lot, you'll be ok.
Mrs. Edgar is an awesome instructor, I have struggled with Algebra for years. She explains so her students understand.
She is such a ****! I asked her for help and she just packed up her stuff and walked out on me. I HATED her!

She was ok but no calculators
Mrs. Edgar is the best math teacher I have ever had. She gives such good notes, gives out excellent study guides, and is always willing to help. You do have to be willing to study, but she makes math a lot more understandable.
Good teacher, but really boring! She will help you when you need it! But bases grade on about 5 tests that consist of 9 to 12 questions.
I hate math, but Mrs. Edgar made it easy for me. She is so thorough in her teaching, and she is willing to meet you anytime to help you. She is by far the best ever!!!!!
she is so anal... she doesnt allow calculator.. she looks like a witch too.. she makes u feel stupid...
Treats students as if they were children, unless it pretains to course material and then it's keep up or shut up. She won't answer questions SHE doesn't consider valid or worth explaining, even if the entire class is struggling.
She is a good teacher. She explains things pretty well. No calculators sucked but you don't really need them for this class. She answered most questions clearly.
She's the best math teacher I've ever had..., EVER! She is always willing to help outside of class, and she explains things so they are easy to understand. I've already had her for two courses and I'm taking another over the summer!
Worst Math teacher. Unwilling to help in class. Did not allow questions. She was rude to the students and treated them poorly when they tried to ask questions in class.

Mrs. Edgar was pretty bad at explaining things. I was lost from day one. In a class of 28 people only 8 finished.
Pick another teacher
Her mind is in the right place for staying focused but she's so boring that I can't even listen to her talk. She's clear in explaining things but not well in answering any questions. She doesn't understand or connect with her students at all.
Trigg is hard, it is harder over the summer in a half semester and with this teacher!!!!(BORING) Over all i think she hated me. This is the WORST math teacher ever. I used to love math. Now it haunts me. Pick a different teacher.
She does a great job at explaining the lesson and wants to make sure everyone understands the work. If you have a quesiton, don't be afraid to ask. If she can't answer it right away, for any reason, she'll take it home and study it. I highly recommend her for any math classes!!!!
This is a great teacher. If someone has a problem in her class it is because of the student. Not the teacher. If you want to learn, this is the class for you. If you want to whine about learning, take someone else. Thank goodness there are teachers like her still teaching. She cares and she helps.
Wonderful teacher. Difficult, but goes above and beyond to explain thoroughly.
She's a really sweet prof. The 6 wk summer class had a TON of material to cover. She has a lot of advisement hours and is more than willing to help! She always answers questions & encourages students to come see her if they have ANY trouble. She gives study guides & reviews all test material before tests. Taking my math classes w/ her! Take her
I think Mrs. Edgar is a wonderful teacher. She is very clear and repetitive on complex problems. She is always willing to work after class, and is ALWAYS in her office during advisment hours. She does more than enough to prepare students for tests (reviews, studyguides, etc). Defenitly one you want to register ALL math classes with.
Mrs. Edgar is a sweet woman with an extreme knowledge of math, which can sometimes leave the learning student lost. She is to the point and not to willing to spend much time during class on questions asked by the students. (she would rather you show up with questions during her advisement hours), not good if your struggling with a full course load.
She was very helpful and good at explaining everything. Most people that have failed algebra, have gotten an A in her class. Her class this semester filled up by the second week of registration.
AS to the comment below, I seriously doubt anyone who failed a math class(and studied) will get an A in Mrs. Edgar's class. It is definately not easy, considering we do all our work out of the book. She just goes above and beyond what most professors would do, to to make sure their students know the material to get a good grade. She is very willing
I've taking three classes with her, good teacher depending on your learning style. She only grades on tests (no HW, quizzes) but she does a good job preparing you (HW and review guide). Take her if your a good test taker. I hate doing HW so just tests are good for me, this was the first math class I got an A.
Mrs. Edgar is the BEST Algebra teacher I have ever had! It is helpful to take the Intro to College Algebra class with her. She moves rapidly in class. That is because there is alot of material to cover. However if you go to her during her advisement hours she will take all the time you need! No credit for homework just tests. She preps you well!
This teacher is very helpful. She goes over whats gonna be on the test, theres never any surprises. You don't have to do homework, but if you do do it, it's +5 points on your test. Always have to be in class, and never be late. She doesn't let you out early.
Take this teacher if you prefer to be treated as a high school student. I much prefer my classes where professors and students have mutual respect and understanding for one another. Mrs. Edgar seems to talk down on her students as if she is superior. I recall her letting out a small laugh when a student asked a question sheThoughtHadAnObviousAnswer
Remember to: Shout out an answer here & there(she follows the book anyhow), take notes on the test review, don't do the HW &don't ask Alg. ?'s in a Calc class! When I quit looking at the book & just memorized test reviews, I got an A on every test. She's extremely helpful during advisement hrs., & it's Calc not Alg so I c y she gets mad about that!
She is a great teacher but does not like when students disrespect her and the rest of the class by talking all the time. Study her test reviews and you will be fine in this class.
I love Mrs Edgar, she offers plenty office hours. She never made me feel stupid. This is a preparation course for high level math, so a lot is squeezed into one semester. its intense because the state requires so much to cover--she rushes because she must, not because of carelessness. Don't take more than you can do, study, study study
Taking PreCalc. She is the best. Very professional and explains things very clearly. I do reccommend doing the HW & seeing her for advisement if needeed. She is so happy to help those that want it. If you truly want to understand math then take her classes. (And yes- she expects you to act as an adult, should that be a problem?)
Great teacher, teaches very clearly and helps in any way she can. Wouldnt take anyone but her.
I have taken her for every math class in college. She was the only teacher able to help me through (I am NOT good at math). She does everyhting she can to help her students, and relates math to everyday situations. I have found that most of the complaints are from students who do not take college seriously, however I do and highly recommend Edgar
LOVED this class. I dont really like math that much but she was so helpful with anything you needed. Very nice teacher always willing to do what you need to help you do good. tells you what each question on the test will look like (which helps).
gave you questions exactually like the test questions.
Is willing to help you out any time during office hours but always makes you feel like you are bothering her. Classes are boring, teaching style is very dry. If you get lost don't bother asking a question in class, she will embarass you 9 times out of 10. Be able to teach yourself via the textbook (which she uses heavily) if you want to do well.
Loved this teacher! I dont see how anyone could complain, she explains everything very well, and if help is needed she has plenty of hours. Her study guides have the exact kinds of questions that come right on the test! If you don't understand a problem just let her know, I never had an issue with her explainations, and plan to take her for trig
Must push yourself to practice. No calcs on test
Excellent professor! Very professional and organized. She was always open to answer questions. The material was hard, but she taught it very well.
She's a great teacher!! I suck at math but passed her class with almost a B and got high grades on most of the tests. She gives out study guides before the tests and a practice test the day before the test.I wish she taught my next math class!!!! I recommend taking her if you want to pass!!
Took her for college algebra. I BARELY passed with a B. You must do all of the hw for practice, but you don't get credit for it. The only things you get graded on are tests. She treats students like they are still in high school. She's kind of a nice lady but not really personable at all with students in class. I'd recommend a different teacher.
Mrs. Edgar is great! She is clear, thorough, and her tests are very, very similar to her practice tests. You are required to attend class, but in all honestly it just helps you more. There is no reason you cannot get an A in this class. I highly recommend her!
Mrs. Edgar is an awesome teacher. She teaches face to face. She is very clear. I highly recomend her.
I thought I could deal with her at first, but I was wrong. I got out of her class quick. I am so use to getting credit for my homework. She doesn't grade homework. It is merely up to you to do it yourself. Overall, I do not recommend her class because she only grades you by 3 tests and a final. Not my cup of tea, sorry.
Um, no. Don't even think about taking her class. I'm sorry but she is very rude to students who ask a lot of questions! I did not feel comfortable in her class and she barely knew names for the first two months. She teaches too fast and that is not very helpful for anyone who isn't very strong in math. I withdrew & took it online, got a B! :]
Great teacher! If you are going to continue with math and actually want to learn it, she is the teacher. I took 3 classes with her and got A's in all of them. She is more than willing to help students out in her office. She expects your full attention in class though.
Took Ms. Edgar for trigonometry. She is really clear about how to do problems and what is on the exams. You know what you are getting into with her and she always does a review before the exam.
Ms. Edgar is by far one of the best math teachers at BCC. I took her class for 6 weeks during the summer. She gives you a study guide and goes over examples similar to the test questions. She gives you credit even if you get the incorrect answer as long as you show your work! Some people forget that it is college and you must study. She is great !
She is helpful
If you have the opportunity to take Mrs. Edgar, do it. She is the best math teacher on the Cocoa campus. Even non-math people will have no trouble following her explanations. There is some work involved, as with any math class, but this is as good as it gets.
Ms. Edgar is an excellent instructor. She explains every step of every problem clearly. She only shows one way to solve each problem that will always work, no rhymes or songs to remember stuff, just the one best way to solve. graded on tests only. Great review given for each test. She is strict but if you have a chance take her class. awesome!
She is absolutely awesome! the only people that did bad in her class were people that don't pay attention. She gives you a study guide before every test that is exactly like the test itself.
Never take this lady! She does not allow you to get up in class! She should retire!!!!
Edgar really wants everyone to understand what she is teaching. The only thing is that you need to read her tests CAREFULLY-- they can be a bit tricky. There are 2 extra credit questions on every test and an extra credit assignment aside from the test grades. Just pay attention in class and do the practice tests.
I had Mrs. Edgar for two years back to back for Trigonometry as well as Pre-Calculus. She is the most clear, helpful math teacher I have ever had. Math is made easy when she explains it. She is older, and her experience definitely shows when she teaches the"tips and tricks"of things. I wish she taught Calculus classes. Highly recommended her class!
SHE TEACHES THE MATERIAL VIA THE EXAMPLES THAT ARE ALREADY WORKED OUT IN THE TEXTBOOK. GRADE IS BASED ON 4 TESTS AND A FINAL WORTH 25% OF GRADE! SO BE CAREFUL!! ALSO, READ THE TEST VERY CAREFULLY, CAN BE TRICKY.. GOOD LUCK!!
Grades are based on tests only. She does provide study guides before each test and does a review in class. She also does give an EC assignment. She is rude, unhelpful, uses the examples from the book, embarrasses you if you ask a question, and she doesn't allow you to get up for any reason. I honestly hated this class.
Maybe she was better before this semester, but whatever the case may be, she is not a very good teacher. She does go through things relatively clearly, but if you have any questions, she'll treat you like you're dumb and answer them snidely. She also treats the people with good grades better than the ones with worse ones.
Rude, difficult to talk to. Going to the bathroom during class is not allowed. Stands directly in front of the board as she writes and asking to move is not an option. Made countless note errors due to this. Grades EXTREMELY harshly. Purposely gives inaccurate directions on extra credit assignments and I only found out by going to her office.
By far the best math professor I have had at EFSC. She's not the most personable lady, BUT she really is an excellent teacher. She's clear and reasonable. She does a practice test before each test, that is nearly identical to the test itself. Take notes, study the practice tests, and you'll do fine! Her explanations are extremely easy to follow.
Her teaching methods are incredibly confusing... She doesn't use the books ways of teaching so it is practically impossible to recreate anything she does in class. She moves VERY fast if you are trying and take notes and takes points off for everything on tests. All formulas must be memorized and you generally can't use a calculator. Don't take.
I loved learning trig from this dedicated professor. Instead of memorizing a bunch of words and phrases, I actually learned the fundamentals and gained a better understanding of what I was solving. It's as simple as doing your homework and studying the test reviews that are given for each exam! If you want to do well, all the resources are there!
Great professor and very helpful to students who want it! She breaks down the formulas and builds a solid foundation for higher level math classes. Just doing your homework and studying the test reviews are all you need to succeed! See her during office hours if you need any help! She's happy to assist! =)
Edgar is very clear and organized, she teaches math so you can understand the concepts. If you don't get something, ask and she will explain it to you. Very reliable, homework after every class but it's usually not too hard, she gives study guides for the tests, no surprises there. If you do the HW and study guides, it's an easy class.
She is hands down the best math teacher I have had since the 7th grade. If you ever do not understand a lesson visit her and she will help you in any way you need. She breaks down formulas and concepts for easy understanding. I have taken her for intermediate algebra, college algebra, trig, and precalc. I wish I could take more classes with her.
AWESOME LADY
You have to do the homework and study or you WILL NOT pass her. That simple.
I hated math with a passion. Then I took Mrs. Edgar for three classes and I now adore math. She is, without a doubt, the best teacher I've had. No quizzes, no homework (it was recommended, but not required), fair grader. She gave study guides before the tests, which were extremely similar to the material. If you take it seriously, you will do fine!
She does not teach-she opens the book & does the examples(that are already worked out in the book) on the board-Thats it! No MML for practice, no graded homework for feedback/help, no handouts that she works through during class, NOTHING! Also, she is very nasty when asked questions. Basically, you buy the book & she reads it to you verbatim.
Took Precalc Algebra and Essentials of Calc with her & I absolutely loved her. She works out problems before each test (she calls it the practice test) that are VERY similar to the test problems. I recommend doing the homework she gives, even though it's not required, and doing the practice test problems over and over before the tests. Love her!!
There are only 2 options for PreCalc at EFSC. This instructor was better according to this site. It's sad these are the only options you get. Ms. Edgar reads verbatim from the book, goes fast, is hard/confusing to follow, her test grading is outlandish, homework assigned is disorganized, etc etc. I taught myself the entire semester using YouTube.
One of the best teacher at EFSC. She knows well the numbers!
There are only test grades in this class, she gives homework assignments but does not grade them. If you are struggling I recommend doing the homework as practice. There are practice tests before every test that help immensely.
I wouldn't listen to any of the positive reviews. She goes extremely fast, and literally will not answer any questions. She has verbatim told multiple people in my class "that's a stupid question" or "you should already know this material so I'm not answering that." Its ridiculous. Take whoever the other option is.
Mrs. Edgar is awesome! Yes, you have to do the work. I hate Algebra: had to take 3 prep classes just to get into MAC 1105. I had her my 3rd prep class and she was so good I chose her for Algebra. She does go fast in class because she has a lot to get through. But she is available after class. She gives a study guide just like the test to prepare u
She can be tough and strict at times, but she knows her stuff and teaches very effectively. She knows how to make students understand her very clearly. Homework isn't required, but it is recommended. Her tests are heavily weighted, but she will give you a practice test that is almost EXACTLY like the test. And she goes over the entire thing!
Took Mrs. Edgar for Intermediate Algebra after failing it with another professor, and I loved the class! She assigns a lot of homework, but the work pays off and she offers extra credit on your tests if you do all of it. She gives a practice test that's almost exactly like the test, and works through it with you the class before the test.
Mrs. Edgar works through the lessons with you in class, and works through a practice test with you before each test. There's an extra credit problem on each test. There's a lot of homework, but it isn't mandatory. Your grades come entirely from your tests, but if you don't mind the work I would recommend taking her!
This was my third class with her, and I would take her again in a heartbeat! She's probably my favorite professor at EFSC. She gives a practice test before each test that's almost exactly like the test, and she walks you through all of the material in class. A lot of homework, but it isn't graded; you're only graded on your tests.
Reads straight from the book. I have been a 4.0 student all my life and this is my first (and only) C that i've received. She always canceled office hours due to doctors appointments or "I don't want to walk across campus to my office because i'm in heels" excuse. No matter how many hours I spent working on examples I still barely passed.
Terrible. Moves extremely fast. If one person knows the answer, she moves on. Didn't answer ANY emails and advising was awful. Calls you out for using the restroom. Graded on 4 tests and the final is 25% of your grade. Assigns HW but doesn't collect it/grade it then spends 10mins going over it. Only reads from the book using the practice problems.
This class is so easy. I was worried at first because I haven't taken a class past algebra 2 before but its pretty easy. She gives study guides just like the test. My only problem was that she spoke a little fast but I've had teachers speak faster. Literally just do your work and you will be fine. An A in this class is very achievable!
Would NEVER recommend this professor to anyone. If you struggle with math already do not expect to get help from her. She takes every question from the book and spends no time going over it again to get a better understanding. Very fast paced, and your only grades are tests. Assigns a lot of homework problems but never collects.
