Difficult class. A lot of reading and writing. She is a nice lady, but her grading wasn't very clear. If you love Charles Dickens, and you have an ability to write great essays - she should be your teacher.

She is really nice and lets u know the class won't be easy..but if u do all ur work and attend most of her classes you will get a good grade...i missed a bunch of classes and she lets u make up the work just let her know ahead of time...nice teacher

She is a helpful teacher, but it is very, very difficult to get an A. Either you have to spend hours on assignments or be very gifted to get an A

Take her for ENG 111. she isn't all that bad...i thought she was a better english teacher then the one i had for 112 but don't take her for 112 she makes you read a book over 1000 pages!

She is a pretty easy teacher. Many say that she is hard but if you go to class and talk to her every so often then she will like you. All you have to do is participate and you will get a good grade. She does make you write a lot but she grades pretty easy.

Took her for ENG 111 and 112, but some illness in her family she was gone 3/4 of the time in 112, so this review is for 111. She wasn't too hard, personal essays and some easy quizzes. Very nice lady

Classes are very short. As long as you write your papers and participate in class, no reason why you shouldn't get an A

excellent teacher. lots of papers, but topics are very general. very clear and nice, easy going. i can't wait to take her class second semester.

Just come to the class on time, write, and do what she says and u will pass it with an A or a B. VERY EASY

Super sweet teacher. She loves in class discussions and she's so passionate about English. If you love to write, take this class. She lets you goof off a lot. She lets you leave early...A LOT! She wants you to have fun in this class but she wants you to learn to love the english language as well. Take this class if you like teachers who care!!

DO NOT BE LATE!!!!! Very strict attendance policy and does not care about excuses even if you'r comn in 5 min late with a bullet wound. not the easiest teacher but I liked her very strait forward with you won't sugar coat anything yet also very supportive.

There is no focus on spelling, vocab, or grammar. She loves hearing about your own personal life stories and her only critique on all papers is "More Details" It is important to be on time but she will let class out early most days. The work load is average and if you show up and make an effort you will probably get at least a B

DONT BE LATE! a lot of writing; all personal experiences and thoughts; only critique is [more detail]; one research paper; early dismissal sometimes; she seemingly has favorites so speak up in class; likes to do class critiques of everyones essays; i personally enjoyed the class and im not a huge fan of school; wasn't easy but wasn't hard. :S

Excellent teacher, and an esay A. 1 research paper that is graded extremely easy and only have to read one short novel. Otherwise just a couple of short 1-2 page papers here and there. I definately recomend this teacher, I'm taking her for ENG 112 next semester.

I really enjoyed Professor Friedmann's English class. Be warned however, there is a good amount of reading req for this course but it is so well worth it & she is such a pleasant mentor. Be prepared to do a bit of in & out of class writings on the reading material & DO NOT miss or be late for class. Really enjoyable class if you are dedicated. =)

I love this teacher! She's awesome, but this is not a class to take if you hate writing essays, THERE IS A LOT OF WRITING IN THIS CLASS. She does have favorites, so volunteer and share in class as much as you can. Make sure you are NEVER LATE, because if you arrive after she calls attendance, you are absent.

everyone keeps saying she is useless/mean/hard blah blah blah. she is straight forward and basically if you do what is required (why would you sign up if youre not willing to) you will pass this class no questions asked.

One of the best teachers Ive ever had. Simply phenomenal - she is wildly intelligent. ALSO, if you DO take her class DO NOT be late and DO NOT miss class, that is her biggest pet peeve. Oh and write LOTS of stuff, the more wild and off-the-wall the more she likes it, I just rambled and she gave me an A she wants to see neurons working.

Great Teacher! Do not be late! I saw people get in late and they didn't attend class after that. Be ready to write easy 1-2pg essays. Research paper is essential and go over it carefully with notes.

So doesn't teach anything for 112. While I enjoyed the easiness of the class, I'm paying for it now in 112. Do your self a favor and take another teacher. Though she is a nice person, if you're on her good side. If you are expect a B. It seems she doesn't grade by paper, she grades by how she likes you.

Unconventional, interesting, easy. Regardless of all the copies we had to make, the topics for the paper were a welcome change and I enjoyed writing them. The feedback from the other students and her were a bonus. The more eyes the better. Did I learn anything on the technical side? No. Did it make me a better writer? I think so. Overall good class

This was the epitome of a college professor, she TAUGHT so the student could challenge themself and LEARN. She was a great professor who also tried teaching lessons for "after college"- Self Responsibility. If you think you can "cruise through" like HS, think again. She gives you all the keysyou need to succeed, you just need to use them. Great!

Yes, this class requires you to work and use your brain. However, she makes the assignments fun and interesting. A lot of informal writing and fun in class activities. The copies of essays required was a bit much but the activity associated was fun. I recommend her to anyone who loves to write and is willing to be involved in the class. Great prof.

I took Eng111 and she is the best! The class is pretty easy and she does give feedback on your essays, all you have to do is talk to her one-on-one. She even stays after class and she is very comprehensive. There was no midterm just a final which was based on a book. There were about 5 essays total in the semester. Take her!

Thought she would be mean but she's very nice! She cares about you and remembers personal details you tell her. You have to share your papers with the class but its not as bad as you think I promise! I'm not a very good writer but I got an A in this class bc I tried. Write about personal experiences and you'll do well. Doesn't use blackboard tho.

She is a great lady and and her teaching technique is different to what I am used to. She is very approachable and gives great feedback on your work. She reaches out to you through your writing because you write a lot about yourself and she makes it a very personal experience. She is reasonably strict, but still very compassionate.

I LOVE Miss Friedmann! She is an excellent and fair teacher. She is clear and easy to understand. She tells you exactly what she expects/wants from you or an assignment. She is a fair grader. BUT, attendance IS IMPORTANT. She is nice, funny, and helpful. She also shows an individual interest in each of her students. My favorite teacher to date!

Be prepared to make a loot of copies, at least for the first few assignments and have your classmates read them. Her topics are pretty personal, but you will learn about people. It's pretty eye-opening actually. She doesn't use bb and is bad with email, but her classes are not long and boring, so there's that. Slightly biased, but kind and funny.

Great professor. Works with each student individually, meaning even if you're bad at english you'll get an A as long as you show improvement. You'll write an essay and the whole class will read & review it & give feedback. Essay prompts are easy and usually not more than 2 pages. She really just wants to make you a better writer. Attendance counts.

No real lectures just a couple papers. Easy A. She's very understanding and offers good feedback. Not really sure what I learned but I got an A. Last couple weeks there was no class, just check in to show her progress on research paper. How are people saying her class is hard?

Professor Friedmann is a solid choice. She does take attendance a lot, so don't skip. The only downside to her class is that you need to print out copies for each and every student, including the teacher when you write essays, etc. She's nice, and gives nice feedback if you're a good writer. If you include details in papers, she'll give good grades

I love that if you had any questions or asked for advice she was always there to help you.

I honestly enjoyed this class. She is very straightforward. We had 3 papers & a few random in class writings, 1 book we had to read. Choose this professor if youre a good writer. She has no problem answering questions if you have them, I always got great feedback. I made my papers somewhat personal & she was genuinely interested in what wrote.

Spring2020. She's a great professor and I would take her again. You write essays and print out copies. Additionally, you read a part of it and answer questions. So, participation matters. She takes attendance everyday. Doesn't grade anything until the end of the semester. She still hasn't graded my assignments. Show up, participate, do your papers
