My favorite prof of all time for math! she really knows how to teach. Tests are pretty much what's on the homework, so do homework and there will be surprises. Also all the quizes were partnered so that's almost a guaranteed A for quiz grades.

She is the most helpful professor I have ever had. She will bend over backwards for you to understand it. Quizes are easy, just do the homework...Tests require just a bit more skill. You'll be happy you are in her class!!!!!

This Prof was awesome! she is really laid back and very helpful and nice. she makes sure everyone understands what is going on and if they don't she will clarify it for you. i would def recommend this prof.

I was able to skip MTH 110 and hadn't had math in 3 years and I felt okay with her as a teacher. I always understood everything because she either clarified it enough or could re-explain it if I didn't. Try to be there every class to learn the one or more chapters she'll cover and for any surprise quizzes that you can't make up.

Shes a great teacher. Extremely helpful and very clear. Probably the best math teacher I've had. Take her if you can.

Awesome Teacher, You don't have to show up to class all the time and still get a good grade. She had Random quizes, 18 in all, but you only had to get 12 and only the top 12 counted, the others didn't count so u could still miss quizzes and still be ok!!

easy class, quiz about everyday but she only keeps your best 12, she is a good teacher and emphasizes whats on the tests.. Id def. take her again

I <3 JANE! one of the best profs ever. makes everything so clear, and alwats there to help. lots of group quizzes, so that makes things easier. homework and attendance aren't mandatory... which is super nice for those weeks you are bogged down. totally understanding and willing to work with you. SHE WANTS YOU TO DO WELL AND WILL HELP YOU IN ANY WAY

Awesome! I suck at math but she made it so easy, she's so helpful! And has in class assignments that she helps with so it boosts your grade if you dao bad on tests and lowest test score replaced by final exam score!

Awesome Instructor. I hadn't had a math class in about 3 years and I was able to pick it up again despite it being new material and the spring semester. Very clear. You also get to use a cheat sheet on tests!

VERY GOOD PROF!! Take her if you can. She explains everything extremely well. Lots of quizzes but they are easy, either independent or in groups. You have to study for the exams but I definitely learned alot. She is very nice and extremely helpful and she really cares about the success of her students. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Jane Mays is amazing! take her if you can over any other math prof! She helps you if you need it is somewhat funny and makes it possible to receive an A!

IF YOU'RE NOT VERY GOOD AT MATH, TAKE IT WITH THIS PROFESSOR! She is amazing. She grades fair, she teaches it well, she's extremely helpful. It's a shame there aren't more professors out there like her. I despised math before I took her class, now I don't mind it at all. I never thought I could ever enjoy a math class, but I enjoyed hers.

Honestly, I left school two weeks into my freshman year, needless to say I did NO high-school math AT ALL, so I was DEATHLY afraid of math in college. Prof. Mays was INCREDIBLE, I left the class with an A, but I did study for it. She is INSANELY helpful and will walk you through ANYTHING until you understand. I enjoyed her class a TON! TAKE HER

I am going into my 4th year and I had Jane Mays my 1st year. She still holds a place in my heart! An amazing teacher! I had a super hard time with math (English Major lol), and she was always going above and beyond to help me. Honestly one of the best professors I have EVER had. Incredible!:-) Just wanted to stop by an rate again because she rocks!

I am one of those who usually hates math and dreads going to class. Not so with Jane Mays. She made math not only bearable, but interesting and fun. Taking this course challenged me to challenge my self, and it worked out in the end. I would highly recommend her, especially to anyone with a negative outlook toward algebra.

Professor Mays was a wonderful teacher. She breaks things down so everyone understands. If you go to class, take notes, and pay attention you will do absolutely fine :)

Relies on web assign too much. Only way to turn in homework; which writing it for me accounts for much better retention. Other than that, she is good. Although, you really don't need her for anything. Just do the homework and show up for test days and you will get a B easy.

First time I've understood math decently since 10th grade. Was failing at midterm (because of my own lack of commitment and focus), she helped me get back on track and I finished with a high B. A lot of web assign homework which sucks, but she's very approachable and really knows how to teach math so anyone can understand. Show up-do well. TAKE HER

She is very helpful and explains the lecture very clearly. Class is easy and if you have her class late at night, she'd let you out early.

Great Math Teacher! She is all about making sure you get a good grade, and makes every effort to make sure you succeed in math. Very experienced and respectful teacher! I recommend her for anyone who has trouble with math!

It took a little bit for this professor to grow on me, but I ended up loving her by the end of the semester. She is a sweet lady and wants you to succeed.

TAKE HER! There is no mandatory book all you use is Web work online. She doesn't take attendance but gives worksheet everyday that you can work on a partner with, so that part is an easy A. Her test however were hard for me, I failed the first two but got an A on the last two. She cared that I was doing bad and helped me to get my grade up.

I loathe algebra with a passion and still do, but she's a fantastic professor who helped ease my hate for it. She's very knowledgeable in the material and always willing to explain a concept or problem further. She wants you to pass her class. If you get the chance, take her. And if you struggle with algebra, meet with her. It will help.

Prof. Mays was an extremely helpful and wonderful teacher. She would go over any questions on the online homework multiple times a week. For the final she went through each old test and told us exactly what we should expect. I'd definitely take her if you can! But don't bother buying the book, just borrow a friends to study.

Prof Mays was a great teacher! She is kind, teaches well, and is very helpful. I never even opened the textbook. She says it is optional, so I bought it just in case she ended up being a lousy teacher; but I never used it.

Do yourself a huge favor and take her! I hate math, but she made me actually enjoy coming to class. She is beyond helpful and SUPER nice. She barely lectures, but when she does they are very interactive. Don't buy the textbook. She tells you not to buy it as well.

She's incredibly helpful and very fair. She allows you to take quizzes in a group and then still drops your lowest at the end of the semester. She also reviews before every test what will be on it. It's up to you to study what she asks of you but she is very fair. I wish she taught more than just 110 because I want to have her as a teacher again.

If you show up to class regularly you'll get an easy 120 points from inclass quizzes which she lets you complete in groups. 3 tests which are easy if you review the material. She's a great professor lots of help!

She is very nice and very clear with the material! She doesn't go over anything you don't need to know! She also doesn't require a textbook which saved a little bit of money and was nice having one less book to lug around! Overall great professor and very kind!

Dr. Mays is a tough professor but a very nice lady. She will help anyone and wants everyone to do well. She will walk students through the homework and often times go over tests in advance to help students prepare. The class is tough, but if you are willing to work for it you will do fine.

the class was so easy! I got a 94. All what you have to do is do the homework and if you don't get it then she goes over it in class the next day so always bring your laptop to class. if I were you I'd take the class in a 2 hour block because you always get out early.

I have never in my life aced a math test before. I got D's in all my high school math classes. I'm this class, I got a 99 on a test. Professor Mays rocks. She cares about her students, she's very helpful, and breaks things down so you actually understand her. She will never make you feel stupid. Highly recommend this woman.

I have always been awful at math but somehow got 2 high Bs and an A in her class between the three tests you take. She's very helpful and explains things four or five different ways if you need it. She also goes over the homework if you don't understand, which is great. Just make sure to be really specific on her tests when answering questions.

Professor Mays is an awesome prof to take. She explains problems in more than one way possible and is always there to answer questions. She is very clear in when due dates are also.

She made this class easy and enjoyable. Super nice and doesn't hesitate to slow down if you need her to. One of the best math teachers I've ever had. Explains things well. She lets you out of class at least 30 minutes early almost every class. Goes over homework enough to where you basically don't have to do it yourself. would recommend.

Mays is a good professor and easy to learn from. The tests are sorta tough, but she isn't a very tough grader and offers help whenever you need it.

Professor Mays is super helpful when you don't understand something and is willing to help people out. She's understanding and is really clear with her grading criteria, she is constantly nitpicking which can be annoying but it's something you get used to. Overall she's great if math isn't your thing as she's clear and willing to go over things.

Professor Mays is AMAZING! Please take her! She cares so much for everyone and wants you to succeed. I was not a strong math-minded person coming into the class, but I left the class very confident! At first impression I didn't think I was going to like Professor Mays. But lemme tell you. She is a VERY good teacher and cares about how you are doing. She goes over EXACTLY what is going to be on exams and quizzes are in groups. I would recommend her to anybody that struggles in math.

I loved Professor Mays for math 110. She really made the material as simplified and easy as possible to follow. She made sure that we could use our calculator and told us to solve the problems with it versus wasting time writing everything out. I would recommend her for any math class and she can be quite funny too. Easy A if you show up.

Mays is very quirky but its obvious she cares about her students and understands that not everyone is a math whiz. As long as you do the homework you should be set for the test. Attendance is judged based on group "quizzes" or worksheets done in class and she only counts the 1st 12. BUT, lecture is important to pass the class.

She is a great professor who makes it easy to succeed in a difficult subject. She shows you different ways to do things including how to do almost everything on your calculator and gives formulas on tests.

Such a good professor. She explained things very well in class and was always willing to explain more if people were confused. The homework is all out of the book and nothing online which is nice. Homework could take some time but she usually took some problems out of the assignments.

She was a great teacher and went at a good pace. Her quizzes were basically group worksheets and she always gave you more than she counted, taking your highest scores.

She was a really good professor, and always took time to work through problems if a student had a question. I would 100% recommend her to anyone. She did assign quite a bit of homework, but it was always relatively easy, and always easy participation points.

She is a GREAT professor, highly recommend to take her class. She explained the information really well and answers your questions. She gives out worksheets after every lecture to practice and then your table group has to turn one in for a grade. She cracks a couple of jokes once in a while so she kept us entertained. Professor Mays made math very easy to understand, especially for someone that struggles! At the end of every class almost she gives "quizzes", but you can work on them with a group of people which helps your grade a lot.
