Prof Medling is one of the most caring professors I've ever had!! Being an accountant herself she has a vast understanding of the material and genuinely cares about seeing success in her students. Go to class, do the homework, study and pay attention!! Her way of teaching has inspired me to major in accounting now. I wish she taught 1B as well!!!!!

Let me start by saying the concept of accounting scared me.I went into the course hating it. But, I honestly can say professor Medling is one of the best teachers at Saddleback College. Show up, DO THE HW, DO THE E.C,ASK QUESTIONS. She wants you to leave class without questions. Will stay after to help.& make sure you show up for test review days.

This class was by far the best class I've taken at Saddleback. Medling is my absolute favorite. She's knowledgable and cares so much about her students. She will help you in any way she can. Professor Medling is AMAZING! First let me say that I was terrified of ACCT prior to taking it. Ive heard so many horror stories. I took 1A with her and was not going to take 1B if I couldn't be in her class again. She is extremely fair and helpful. She genuinly cares about teaching. Amazing teacher!! My suggestion for doing well is, SHOW UP. She has lots of extra credit available, practice exams, and hints about test questions. You know exactly what to study for on the exam. Do not take ACCT if you can't get Prof. Medling.

Jane Medling honestly is an amazing teacher. To me Accounting is hard and tedious. yes lectures are very long. She tells a some quick stories every class & and she is random and funny. She really helps everyone to the fullest she can!! She really wants you to learn. This is the Teacher to take if you can!!! No doubt in my mind 100%. She CARES!

Professor Medling has an enthusiastic method of teaching accounting which to many can be quite boring. I was able to enhance what I already knew in accounting and learn a tremendous amount of new material. She works hard to make sure you understand everything to be able to pass the class. I plan on taking 101B in summer with her. She is great.

I highly suggest taking her class. You do need to attend class(she takes role). Attending(and listening!)to the lectures and completing the homework(online thru Connect, unlimited attempts)you will pass. Do the E.C. (plenty offered)and you will easily pass. Honestly one of my favorite professors I've taken at Saddleback, its impossible to fail her class. As long as you show up to class listen to her lectures and review the study guides, you're good to go! The most useful thing I found with this class was doing the homework & 2 pt extra credit online. There's tons of extra credit :) Love her story's!

1A was a hard subject for me, without her help I may not have passed. She is a great professor. She is tough, fair, funny, and extremely helpful to students willing to learn. After class she stays to help and talk to students. Be on time, bring the book, and do the online homework. If you can't do that, she can't help you

She teaches so clearly, and you don't have to read the book because she gives you the power point and that's so helpful And there is a group project and it just takes 3 minutes with a lot of extra credit

Professor Melding is a great professor! If Acct 1A or 1B is a course you plan to take, choose Medling. This course does require a significant amount of time for homework and studying, but Medling prepares the students very well. Medling is also an understanding & bright spirit who and makes you laugh, I always looked forward to her lectures.

Professor Medling was the best! She is sweet and very helpful. You have homework for each chapter. Take advantage of the EXTRA CREDIT!! It's a lot of work, but worth it. One group project towards the end of semester, and a total of four exams. Unfortunately I can't take her in the summer due to planning my wedding, but will see her next year!

He is an amazing teacher! Extremely organized, comes prepared to class with notes and PowerPoint presentations. You can tell she really cares about her student and gives her 100% in teaching. Study guide for exams are clear cut and let's you know what to study. Homework and extra credit kind of long but the points matter. Group project is easy.

Took this class instead of at a my 4 year university during the summer. Complete joke, easiest A I ever got. Take it during the summer, two 4x6 note cards on 2 tests, open book test, and a take home final. Homework is online, it's accounting so it's tedious but easy, if you have trouble with it she'll go over it in class.

What makes this professor so great is her passion for accounting. She's always exhilarated to teach. Gives credit to those who try. Tests are hard, but she provides a practice test. Practice tests are gone completely over in class with tips to study. Allows students to bring 5x8 cards of notes for all four tests. Homework done online via connect.

She makes you work for a good grade but gives you all the tools and goes out of her way to make sure you can earn a good grade. She's responsive and understanding as long as you're respectful, willing to learn and work, and keep up communication. Even if you don't/aren't, she still urges students to be that way and is open to helping them.

Taking this course now. The bottom line is if you are willing to do the work you can get an A! Class is incredibly organized. I am learning so much thanks to her teaching methods. Assignments are posted with clear instructions every week plus she does a mid-week check-in email on Wednesdays and a reminder email on Fridays. PROF MEDLING is the BEST!

Hands down one of the best professors i have taken at saddleback and thankful it was for accounting IA&1B. Tough subjects but she makes it so fun and easy to understand, gives ALOT of extra credit that by the end raised my grade a whole letter. TAKE HER !!

Took her 7-9pm lecture and although the class was hard to concentrate in she kept everyones attention. Shes has no tolerance for cheating and will call people out for sitting in the back row and talking during her lecture. I actually understood the material and did well in the class. She is a great professor but many people on here are misleading in terms of difficulty. Her class is only easy for those that put in a lot of work and stay focused. I would say I studied for 4-5 hours for each test and the homework is very long an tedious. So yes, for those that study and work hard, she is a great teacher. Not an easy A.

Just do all of the homework and youll be fine. I slacked off sometimes and it hurt my grade. She offers extra credit every week which I should have taken more advantage of. When I met her at the final I wish I took her in person! She was so nice and easy going. She gave a great review for the final.

Medling is absolutely amazing. Her teaching style is top notch, unique, and super interactive. She's tough but it's worth it. She is so knowledgable about accounting, makes the material interesting, and is incredibly passionate about it. Medling really cares about the success of her students.

Great professor that made learning interesting and fun. I loved this online course. I've never taken a class where an instructor has showed such passion and commitment to teaching like Medling did. I felt like I really learned accounting and that all the hard work I put in paid off. She provided so many tools from her toolbox to help us succeed.

Had a B going into final. Studied hard for the mandatory in person on campus proctored exam worth 38% of the grade. Aced the final thanks to her detailed final exam study guide and review video. Final is heavily weighted cuz it's the only way identity can be verified-required in order for class to be transferable to a 4 year college. Awesome prof.

She's good at what she does, she loves her job and shows it in every class. She keeps every class interesting and entertaining, which makes learning this subject more exciting! Homework/extra credit online and simple to complete. Hilarious teacher. Offers a good amount of extra credit, 4 exams- study good for them. 1 group project, fairly simple!

Highly recommend Prof Medling. Very knowledgeable about every field of accounting covered in both courses. Extremely approachable. Definitely not easy but you will learn accounting. Keeps everyone engaged with participation point activities that truly helped us master the material. Goes out of her way for students. Wants everyone to succeed.

Medling has a huge heart. Took her for 1A last year and have her now for 1B. Despite the large 1B class size (100 students) she makes us feel special and even knows our names. Great participation activities and examples that help us learn. She goes the extra mile to make sure everyone understands the material. Couldn't ask for a better professor.

Medling is a great professor. Goes over lots of practice problems to ensure we understand the concepts covered in lecture. Actually makes us think as we work either alone, in small groups, or with her going over examples that reinforce the material. Extra credit can raise your grade 5% which really helps because her tests are super hard.

Medling is honestly a sweetheart. Show up to class, do the homework on time, and do the extra credit. Her extra credit can boost you up to 10%. Participation is key and she has talking tickets; you have to have 8 by the end of the semester to get full credit(not hard at all). I definitely recommend.

MEDLING IS AMAZING. I took her for both 1A and 1B and i've never met anyone more enthusiastic about teaching than her. This woman loves what she does and tries her best to make the class as interesting as possible. Shes an amazing professor with an amazing heart! Offers a lot of extra credit, tests are doable if you study. Homework doesnt take long, and its all online. Jane Medling is the most caring prof at saddleback and easily best accounting professor. Accounting is not an easy class and she realizes that and tries to make the class as easy to pass as possible. 4 exams and one is take home for 1B class which helps so much! One project as well which is so easy. My advice is take her for sure.

There is honestly not enough positive things I could say. She is everything people say but better. Super passionate about teaching. Tell she sincerely cared about all students and wanted us to succeed. Second time in acct. Still a lot of hard work and feel fortunate/glad I took it with her. Smart decision.

Can't imagine taking accounting with anyone but Medling. Replies to emails almost instantaneously 24/7. Meets with you anytime even if it is not office hours. Wants us to truly learn the material. I loved her as a professor as she made a difficult subject easy to learn and fun. She really goes the extra mile to help students. The homework does take a lot of time. The study guide does help for the tests and she does allow a note card for each test. Make sure to stay on top of all assignments as every point counts!

There are 3 chapter tests that are not proctored with 1 proctored final. I didn't do any studying, and absolutely no reviewing until 5 days before the final. I went into the final with 101% in the class, got a 75% on the final and passed with an A. Just study her practice exams and study guide.

Professor Medling was an absolute joy, being very attentive even for an online class. This class was no joke; very structured and time consuming with a lot of reading and difficult material. You really spend an easy 20 hours a week. Be sure to read everything she sends out as her instructions are very specific Lots of opportunity for extra credit.

This subject in general is not easy. However, it is very clear what is expected of you. Do the weekly connect assignments and DB posts on time. Every week is consistent. Tests similar to connect homework assignments. She can be condescending at times so make sure its a completely necessary question. Just do the work and you will pass.

Best accounting teacher ever! I really loved her feedback and participation. She makes learning fun. I took both ACCT1A and 1B with her and it was great. For tests, she allows you to fit as many notes as you can on one 3x5 notecard, which really helped with the dry material. Accounting can be so dry, but she made it digestible and fun.

The only professor I have ever had for an accounting course that can make accounting fun. If you don't enjoy her class, then you REALLY won't enjoy accounting with any other professors. I transferred to Berkeley and reached out to Medling to ask for some useful accounting documents and she immediately responded and provided the documents to me.

There are no words to describe how grateful I am for Prof. Medling. She genuinely cares about her students, which is shown is her consistent commitment to support us in any possible way. I started off the semester not liking Professor Medling and her class, she's a little annoying at times and the criteria for the class is tough, but she became one of my favorite professors. She truly cares for her students and is there to help her students in any way she can. The class is tough but you get good grade as long as you work hard.

Medling is great because of her email responses is so fast and gives lots of feedback on discussion assignments. The only flaw is that the homework takes a long tome to complete and does little to help on exams. Her study guides are very important and outlines what is on the test.

She provides an outline, handout, and vocab list study these it'll be vital to know this information when doing the assignments and taking the exam. If you are looking for an online accounting class with a professor thats sole purpose is to provide you with every tool to grasp and pass this class with an A, you just found it. This was my hardest subject to learn, but had the most support and tools to land me an A. Follow directions and do the work as suggested, and you will earn an A.

Accounting 1A is an intense class that I dreaded taking during my time at saddleback. Professor Medling made accounting seem less daunting because she would give great feedback and ensure I continued on the right path. I genuinely recommend you take this course. Professor Medling made ACC1A a breeze, as this is my second time taking the class, and going from an F to getting an A in this class is something I had never thought I could do. Her videos each week really helped me learn the material that was being taught. The Final is worth 30% of your grade, take notes like she said each week and you'll pass.

To pass this class you have to really keep up with assignments. There are many opportunities for extra credit and Prof Medling gives great feedback. In my experience she always replied to emails as soon as possible and always had good things to say when she graded discussion posts. As stated this class does take about 6-8 hour a week.

Jane Medling is a great professor, always giving office hours for help and the course materials are super easy to access. The Accounting Society meetings are for extra credit in attendance, and if you do not get an A you are doing something completely wrong. I wish I could take her for 1B, thank you Professor Medling!

Overall, this class was actually pretty challenging for me. You really have to fully understand the book to complete the midterm quizzes. This was pretty much a self study class in my opinion. There weren't any in depth lectures going through the whole chapter. Midterm quizzes are kinda hard but the final was pretty easy. A lot of extra credit tho

I took this class all online, there is definitely all of hw, assignments, projects, etc. But Professor always always did a great job being clear on the expectations and grading. Uses lots of Extra Credit, self made lecture videos, and mcgrall hw assignments. I felt she was very organized, very communicative, and a class with lots of homework.

Professor Medling made accounting easier to understand. She gives you plenty of attempts to learn by doing. Class was extremely organized with clear guidelines and directions for all assignments. There was lots of work but it was a full semester class condensed into 8 weeks. Overall it was a very manageable online class. Not a hard class if you stay on top of it. Subject matter is a bit dry but she livens it up. Highly recommend this professor.
