She is very funny and great about getting test grades back quickly. The only bad thing is our test reviews are VERY long. (170 questions or so) However, this is better than not having a review at all! =]
I would not recommend this teacher. She has stated "You need to know EVERYTHING". How can you know everything in 1 semester? No reviews,no xtra credit, counts off for spelling,6 chapters = 1 test w/only abt 30 questions. Good luck trying to figure out which 30 questions will be on the test!
This teacher is very personable. Although her lectures are very unorganized, its not even in outline form its moreless random thought. There is no extra credit! There usually is no review but if you get one it is 150 questions for a 50 question test. The questions are very broad. If you wanna nice teacher she is that...but if you want an "A"?
She was not the best or the worst teacher I have ever had. She is nice but kind of spacy...didnt look like she knew what was up some of the time. She is not the best at responding to emails. There is a quiz almost everyday in lab so attend.
i thought that she was very helpful. the class is hard & you need to study but this is college. she is extremely helpful, i even went to her office. she will take the time to help you understand the material.
Very helpful, lectures super boring, but the review she gives help to know the info and do well on tests.
would not recommend. She is unorganized, does NOT give any extra credit. Goes way too fast over material. Expects you to already know the course material before even stepping into her class. Not interested in seeing student succeed.
She is a wonderful,caring teacher.
Teacher known to be difficult than the rest. Does take attendance every day. She has very long and borig lectures. Review sheets are helpful- study them! Does not respond to emails or phone. Go and see her- even then, she seems very unorganized. Would recommend her because she knows her stuff inside out, but not a class to get behind on.
She is a wonderful teacher, she will help with anything you need!! This class is hard and you are required to know the material, so you must study! After all its college and no one said it would be easy!!! She does give long review but if you study you will do fine!
She is a great teacher, but the material is hard, she will explain the information a hundred times if you need her too. She give exam reviews at the start of the semester so you know what will be on each exam. Also she gives you the notes, but you might want to add to them as she talks. Great teacher overall, I would take her again.
she is very general when she gives a "review" the test could be over anything .when you ask her for help she is very sarcastic. I know A&P is hard but it would help if the teacher was more helpful.
Lecture is pretty much from the book. Test reviews are ridiculous and not helpful.
please don't take the class unless u had a graduate degree in biology, she is a good person but not a great teacher ,she helps you if u ask her anydoubts, but her lectures are useless,u can study at home, her reviews are of no use,u need to study the textbook completly then u can make a B hardly, please don't take her class if u want A,it is impossibl
I have Dr. Moore for lab and Prof. Garner for lecture. They both are really hard, but at least i learn something from Moore. Garner is totally useless. Moore will help you and answer questions. You do have to memorize a lot. And it is really hard ant time consuming. But she is not harder than any other A&P teachers.
Please dont take her class, she is very hard prof, she is a good human being and knows stuff well, but she gives outlines but are useless and she will not explain them, she will just read the outlines, her class is completly useless to me,please dont take her class,if u take the class drop it because u cannot make an A or B in her class, please dont take
I LOVED this class and would take her again next semester. (And I got an A, so no, it isn't impossible.) She is very clear on what she expects of us, and why should this class be easy? It is a prerequisite for very competitive fields. I wouldn't want someone who doesn't understand A & P working on me! She was a great teacher and I learned TONS!
I attended class everyday, completed every review and studied them. In addition to collaborating with classmates, it didn't help. She has the teaching style of a brick wall. She is smart & knows it; as though her level of knowledge is only diminished if she actually helps a student comprehend the subject matter. Why she chose to teach, I don't know.
She is tough, please don't take her class, i am not a person who expects everything from the teacher.she knows the stuff but she won't explain it to you,she will show you power points and just read them and doesn't explain you a single word, she give a review with 270 ques and it doesn't help you.If you had a bachelors in Biol take he,otherwise DONOT
What test review???? If u ask what u need to know for the test (since she does NOT do a test review) she will tell u "you are responsible for everything in the outline and everything in the book". Unless u have a photogenic memory, pick another professor!
I had her for A&P II. You might as well skip class and just memorize the book. She also stated in our class "Know everything for the test". Seems like a nice person but very sarcastic and unorganized. Unless you are already an A student in the sciences....AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!
I loved this teacher! Took her over the summer for A&P I. No she does not give reviews BUT her powerpoints have everything you need for the test. If you don't feel like applying yourself then don't take her but I learned A LOT in her class!
I agree with the completely sarcastic remark below. Her attitude would not be tolerated in the private sector. So, here we are, taxpayers supporting someone so irrelavant. She has serious, serious confidence issues and unfortunately those surface. The comments on her professionalism on here is not venting, it's a serious pschological eval.
I had Dr. Moore for lab and lecture. Lab was slightly better than lecture, but I don't recommend either for anyone. She isn't good at responding to emails. Her tests are extremely hard, but doing the section tests at the end of the chapter will help. She will explain information, but you literally need to know EVERYTHING for the class.
I felt Prof Moore did an outstanding job relating the Enviro Biol material to real-world experience. She expects you to interact, read the assignments and have a desire to learn. If you're looking for a "coast" class, look elsewhere. I enjoyed being challenged and understand her desire to TEACH students something.I'd take another Dr. Moore class
i give her an f for teaching what she teaches you can learn at home on your own. I wouldnt reccomend her to anyone she hates her job doesnt help at all and is fake as teachers come . she needs to quiet her job and find something new.
Had her for lab and loved it! If you expect a cakewalk this professor is not for you... But then neither is A&P. You will leave her classroom knowing your stuff... Very willing to help. By far one of my favorite professors EVER!
EXCELLENT teacher! The class is hard no matter who you take. Dr. Moore was extremely helpful, made things interesting, and taught in a way i could understand. She was a TOTAL godsend!
I ended up with Dr.Moore by accident but it truly was to my benefit. She was extremely helpful in relating the material to the class. I highly recommend her.
This professor is awesome! This is NOT an easy class but I loved her! Just study the powerpoints she gives you and read over the material. I made a C in the class but if I would have tried more I would have made an A! Not to mention you walk out remembering everything!
Dr. Moore is absolutely WONDERFUL!! She will go out of her way to help you understand things, you just have to ask. She made things fun and interesting. This is a subject with a ton of information, but she is a great teacher!
Dr. Moore is hard when it comes to tests because you will need to read the book, use the notes she provides, and the extra notes you take while in class. That said, if you're having issues, she is more than willing to help you work through them as long as you come to her. Do your best to work with her and you'll do just fine.
Excellent! I have thoroughly enjoyed this class and never thought I would. Her tests are hard but she has a very unique way of teaching. She is VERY approachable which to me is real important. I have learned so much and feel I won't lose the material along the way. Thanks Dr Moore
Dr. Moore is a great teacher. She talks fast, but if you stop her, she will re-explain it in a way you understand. One time, she re-explained Sarcomeres 6 different ways so everyone understood. She is extremly funny and is willing to laugh at herself. She cares alot about her students. I highly recommend her. Wish I could take her agian.
Dr. Moore is a phenom. She is extremely knowledgeable, and she cares a great deal for her students. The course is tough and demands a lot of you, but Dr. Moore will make sure the information is at your disposal. I wish I could take her class again. Dr. Moore is now one of my 5 favorite professors of all time. I highly recommend that you take her
She cares, she knows her stuff, tests are hard because a & p is hard so study.
hard to approach .Her test were super hard, do not provide a review. You need to all the material if you want an A. her strategies for teaching are horrible.
This class is not a joke. Professor Moore will put in as much as you do. This is not ment to be an easy class, she explains everything very clearly. If you are going into medicine i highly recommend her.
AWESOME TEACHER! She is really helpful if you just ASK! She's all about earning your grade and not handing grades out. Love her to death and would totally choose her again! If you don't like her than you're just lazy and don't want to work.
I absolutely adore Dr. Moore. The class is tough, not gonna lie. Hardest I've ever worked. But if you are willing to work hard, Dr. Moore will give you all the tools you need to be successful. She's a sweetheart and really funny. Very approachable. Put forth the effort, read the chapters before class, do your homework and you'll do fine.
Dr. Moore is a caring woman, and is willing to help you in ANY way she can. However, she seems to be a bit distracted in class and lectures aren't too helpful. If you have good study habits and are willing to teach yourself the material, you will be fine. I would hang out with her outside of the classroom, but would not take her class again.
Dr. JMo is the BEST. She is funny, and makes the class interesting, plus she teaches you what you NEED to know, so you don't have to memorize everything. Go to class, study the material she gives you. YOU NEED to take either Chemistry or Biology FIRST. This class is really HARD, expect to study 2-4 hours per day if you want to get an A in AP.
Love Dr. JMo. She cares. She knows her stuff. She goes above and beyond. The class itself is tough. But would you really want A&P to be easy? I got an A both semesters, but I did have to work hard for it. But if you do your part, Dr. Moore will do everything she can to help. Don't expect her to hand you a grade. But an A is def. possible.
Dr. Moore is a really neat person. If you can learn on your own and study then you will have no issues. If you need someone to teach the material to you, then you may struggle. She does structure the class so you can do well even if you don't ace all tests. I would take her again, but I wouldn't recommend her to anyone who needs to be spoon-fed.
She's an awesome person and knows her material.. However, her class sucks in my opinion. What she teaches and what she puts on the practicals are totally different..
She's a loving teacher and will work with you through anything! Yes, the class is hard-she doesn't spoon feed you and that's ok. There are no test reviews, because she wants you to learn it, not memorize it. Most of us who are taking this class need it for nursing-you don't need to memorize you need to learn. Love her! I would suggest her, it's fun
She didn't teach, we all mostly sat around and looked at the models, tests were really tricky, literally every student, except for 5 of us, dropped the class by the end of the semester.
Took her for lab. Nice person if you understand her personality. But would not recommend her class. Had to learn everything on my own, she didn't lecture. Test questions were very confusing. There were too many different ways to interpret the questions.
She's rude. Makes students feel dumb in front of class. Avoid her!
Find someone else.
This was my second semester with Dr. JMo, she is an amazing professor. She is funny and truly cares about her students. This class is NOT easy, and it is NOT AP I. If you did not do well in this class it is because you did not study. AP is HARD, but I certainly want the future medical professionals to have to work for it don't you? You will learn..
She doesn't post grades until the end of the semester. Doesn't lecture, talks about her kids all the time. The only good thing is she lets class out early all the time. Worst experience yet at TCC.
AP1 is a very hard class, understandable. But she does not try and make it any easier, nor does she try and help. if you have a busy schedule that sometimes effects your attendance, or tardiness, do not take her. she held it against me even when i took the time to explain.
Dr. Moore is an amazing professor! However A&P by no means is an easy class, you HAVE TO STUDY A LOT, but she gives you all the tools you need to succeed, including completion grade homework assignments to help you if you are bad at tests! She always answered any of my questions, and worked with my retake when I was in the ER. Best lectures by far.
If she likes you, you'll be fine. If she doesn't like you, you will not be fine.... She knows her stuff, kinda. You kinda need to be a genius to be able to read her mind and figure out what she is wanting on her exams. None of the class made A's without a curve. Very confusing questions.... She does not go out her way to help. Avoid!
Loved this class. Fun lectures.
Over all a great teacher. she really doesn't try and trick any more with wording in test! She's great and funny.
It was a tough A to make but Dr. Moore truly is a gifted educator. She taught me more than just APII. She turned out to be a true blessing.
Moore gets sidetracked and doesn't stay on topic, it seems like she's doesn't care and is just trying to get through the powerpoint and be done with class. When you ask her a question, she makes you feel stupid. Overall, I probably learned more from the textbook than in lectures
Funny, attempts to engage class in lecture, very helpful, straight forward and doesn't pull any punches or try to trick students on exams. You have to be in class and you have to do the homework assignments. I worked hard for my A but she is very fair in grading. I will be in her A&P II this coming term - One of the better professors at TCC NW.
DO NOT TAKE HER. I'm serious, if you want to be respected, given help and clarity, have a teacher who actually cares about you as a person and you're grade DO NOT TAKE HER. She makes fun of students when they ask certain questions, she acts like she would rather be anywhere else and she provides 0 reviews for anything. Please avoid this teacher.
Lecture was totally crazy. Tests were all over the place. Had to work for the grade I got. I am retaking this class with a different teacher to get a better grade. She is a funny lady, but you will have to work for it.
Lab was much better then lecture. Make sure you get the same teacher for lab and lecture, they know what you have covered in class. She is straight to the point. Tests are hard. You have 70-100 questions on the practicals. You do have to know the correct spelling of the words.
WORST EVER! She was totally all over the place when it came to lecture and exams. It was the last three weeks in the semester and we had only completed 2 exams, leaving us with 3 exams to complete in that short amount of time. she does not give reviews on ANY exams so you never know what to study. I got a B and had to kill myself to get it!
She's rude. She's unorganized. She takes forever to grade things. Don't ask a question in class, if she know the answer, she'll make you feel dumb for asking. She was way behind the topics covered in lab. One of my worst experiences at TCC. Stay away!
She is knowledgeable and effectively teaches & conveys an understanding of the material; Continually assess class understanding and is able to offer different approaches until it is understood; Routinely reinforces the notion of no dumb question encouraging students to speak up, ask questions; a Humorous & Positive Prof., Very fair in grading.
Moore gets off topic constantly. Very upprepared. Labs were better than lecture. She constantly talked about her kids and let class out early a lot. Very un organized. Quizzes/test didn't pertain to the book. She chooses her "class" favorites. Doesn't ever seem to want to help. Makes you feel dumb if you ask a question. Avoid!!
Not impressed. She hardly ever showed up to class on time. Lectures were usually fast paced. She doesn't stay on topic. Talks about her kids a lot and makes fun of students. She's rude and doesn't care. She has very bad communication, If you email, she won't reply. Graded hard. Avoid if you want a good grade and or credit for the class. Avoid!!
If you are just trying to get the credit because you have to... I seriously recommend not taking this class. I enjoyed Dr. Moore personally, she was funny and pretty cool away from lecture and lab. But, lecture felt disorganized, there was never a review for any tests, and the final was the next class after a previous exam.
By far, my favorite professor ever. She is very knowledgeable and able to relate difficult material to everyday life to make it make sense. It is not an easy class, but if you put forth the effort, participate in lectures/lab, and ask for help you will pass. Dr. JMo is the most helpful professor I've encountered and I'm very appreciative of her
I liked her.
I took Dr. Moore for AP2 lab. She is a very unique professor, and because of that her lab isnt boring at all. If you have questions, she answers them. She is passionate about science, and it shows when shes explaining stuff. You will have alot of studying to do on your own however and grades take about a week to post. Shes awesome though!
I absolutely loved Dr. Moore. She is so fun and energetic, we were always up doing something in class. Defiantly become friends with her and it will make it easier. She is very sarcastic so if you don't take sarcasm well I don't suggest taking her.
Great class, shes understanding of the fact that students have lives outside of her class. Is willing to work with you if something comes up and isnt super strict about attendance. She posts the PowerPoints which does help with studying. This isnt a class where you can just show up and take the tests, but it wasnt too much work either.
Professor Moore is super goody and makes lectures fun. She explains only what you need to know to pass the class and nothing extra. The quizzes have the same questions as the exams so study those and show up to labs and youll at least pass with a C! I never used my text book, she has notes and all power points online.
I don't like her so much. She is very sarcastic, and rude to everyone for any questions. I would not take her again. She is always take grade forever, she is unorganized, and unprofessional too.
I had Dr. Moore for both A&P 1 and 2. I loved her classes. they challenged me and i did well. She has strong desire for her students to learn and do well, but she won't spoon feed you. If you are truly interested in learning vs just getting credit, I highly recommend Dr. Moore.
It was her first semester teaching major biology, she doesnt know the stuff, just reads the pp and when you ask her a question she tries to make a joke out of it to not answer it, I had to study the textbook word by word because she is not KNOWLEDGABLE, not organized at all, and Goddd she doesnt know anythinggg about labs, so we didnt do 2 labs.
She is sloppy professor that I have ever had see that professor in my life!
Actually BIOL1406 Starting my freshman year during covid was hard enough as it is but this professor only made it worse. At the start it was fine, she gave a review and helped but as time went on the help stopped and I felt so unprepared for every quiz and test that was thrown at us. I have all A's in every class except her's. Bummer! Dont take her
From what i have seen she is an okay teacher in person. But she is absolutely clueless and terrible as a online teacher. her schedule was split into four different documents. You constantly have to check your email to see if she made a mistake about assignments, they often have incorrect information. Save you self the headache and pick someone else
She is not good professor and she did make lot of mistake on her online class for lesson anything information. I will never take her again, because she is not good fit for online professor.
Doctor J is the best biology teacher you are ever going to get. Yes, her class can be a bit difficult if you are not prepared. She actually cares about what you learn instead of the letter grade you get. I would definitely recommend Doctor J if you want to actually learn biology.
She made me very nervous coming to class because she was rude and made fun of us. She was not respectful and acted like she didn't want to be there. Avoid.
Hard to understand if you're not paying close attention, talks fast so trying to take notes during lecture is hard. Doesn't give test reviews and says the lectures are your reviews, the unit exams are also more about common sense than the actual content Use the textbook as much as you can, it is actually very helpful.
Dr. Moore does everything required of her, including including caring enough about students to get to know each one of them in her class. A&P is a difficult course that requires learning a ton of information! Dr. Moore's tests are perfectly in line with what would be expected of any college-level A&P course. She's really funny and personable too.
Dr. Moore was an amazing professor I had her for A&P 1&2 she genuinely cares about her students and is over all an amazing teacher, she does require a bit of homework but as long as you keep up with it her class is pretty easy, she is very easy to talk to and I totally recommend her as a professor!
Dr. Moore is an awesome professor and I would definitely recommend taking her. I had her for a lab class and she made it really interesting and enjoyable. She's very friendly, however, she's not great at responding to emails. I would definitely take her again if I had the opportunity.
Dr. Moore was great! You can tell she cares about whether or not her students succeed in her class and will do what it takes to help you if you need. The grades come from the homework, the exams and the lab exams, and for my class she would reopen things for us that we missed and even made an extra credit when we weren't doing so hot :)
All her exams and lectures are based on the course textbook. USE IT. Doctor J is very passionate about biology and animals, and she explains everything well. I highly recommend using the few review lab slides to know what will be on the lab exams. I struggled with the majority of her class's lecture exams, but she was open and helped me out.
She is not as organized, and she expects us to know things. Her PowerPoints don't give enough information for exams, she doesn't provide study guides at all, and there's no extra credit to make up for your grades. It didn't feel very comforting to ask her questions. You had to teach yourself.
Possibly your worst choice ever for BIO 2. No textbook, no homework, and slides that have not been updated on canvas. The exams felt like an awful surprise, you never know what you are going to get. She also expects you to know everything without the textbook and doesn't even care that the class average on every exam is failing.
Avoid Prof. Moore's class. With no textbook, vague slides, and inconsistent assignments, studying is guesswork. Exams pull from unclear sources, making it stressful and inefficient. Save time; choose another professor.
Dr. Moore is a good professor, she does have a tendency to be disorganized. If you read the textbook, use her guided notes as reviews, and attend every class you will do okay. She's very straightforward about how she presents the class and she's very funny, but as a freshman level course the lack of structure can make the class overwhelming.
She was my sub for A&P and took great care of us! It was a challenging semester for everybody and she really stepped up to help us succeed. She really cares about her students, she's hilarious, and she makes class so much fun.
